Chapter 24
"Damn. I completely forgot about her." Lucy cursed. At the moment, Lucy had Sting's arm over her shoulder to help Sting stand as she was staring down Akuma, the only remaining member of Saitan's Light.
"I'm impressed Lucy Heartfillia. I expected the demon in you to be strong, but my expectations were surpassed." said Akuma.
"Tch. I don't want any praise from you. Juvia! Think you can get up?" Lucy called out.
"Huh? Y-yeah." Juvia said. At first, Juvia was struggling, but she was able to get up and quickly walk to Lucy and Sting.
"I need you to take Sting to Cheria or the infirmary for me and see if you can take our other friends. I still have business to deal with here." said Lucy as she handed Sting over to Juvia.
"What? But Lucy, you can't really think to- ah!" Sting grunted in pain.
"Don't worry Sting. I'll be fine." said Lucy calmly. Sting started to calm down.
"Lucy, please be careful." Juvia said.
Lucy simply nodded, which let Juvia know to get going. Once Juvia had left the ring, Lucy put her attention back on Akuma, who was waiting patiently with a smirk on her face. Akuma soon let out a small laugh.
"What's so funny? If I were you, I wouldn't be laughing. You have no where to hide." said Lucy.
"Heh. I don't need to hide." Akuma said back.
"You haven't been able to do anything to anyone here and all of your loyal followers are pretty much dead. Now what'll you do?" Lucy questioned. A smirk then grew on Akuma's face.
"Girl, do you know why I'm head of Saitan's Light?" Akuma question. Lucy didn't say anything. The skies suddenly began to darken, and lightening and thunder also began to ring through out the sky. The ground also began to shake violently.
"Wh-what in the world?!" Lucy exclaimed.
A giant red magic then appeared under Akuma. Her hair started to defy gravity and float in the air. Her eyes started to glow an dark red color. Small stones also started to levitate as well. Soon enough, Akuma herself started to change.
"What the hell?! What is this!?" Lucy shouted.
"As I said earlier, the reason I'm head of Saitan's Light..." Akuma began.
Akuma's size started to increase rapidly and her armor came off piece by piece. She was transforming like Lucy did, but her's was more drastic. Akuma grew fangs, claws and her entire body was now gigantic. Her eyes are now blood red, and she now resembled a muscular, giant monster. (A/N: She resembles Midnight in his monster form, but bigger, stronger, and looks more like a female demon.)
"...Is because I'm Saitan's right hand man!" Akuma, now a giant demon, said in a deeper tone. Lucy was standing in place, her mouth hanging open and her eyes wide open.
"A-ah crap." Lucy choked out. Akuma swung her hand around and grabbed Lucy in her hand. Lucy tried to get the demon to let go, but it wasn't working.
"D-dammit! Let go!" Lucy shouted as she repeatedly hit Akuma's hand.
"Haha. You are in no position to give orders." said Akuma. She puller her arm back and then sent Lucy flying to the ground. Lucy slammed into the ground, creating small cracks when she landed. She coughed up some blood.
"Heh. Now look at you. You're nothing when you're not true to yourself." Akuma mocked.
"What are you talking about?!" Lucy said as was kneeling on the ground.
"You already know that you're mother is the daughter off Zeref don't you?" said Akuma. Lucy began to grit her teeth.
"So what!? What does my mother have to do with any of this?!" Lucy shouted.
"Do you know why Zeref became the dark mage he is known as now?" said Akuma. Lucy slowly became interested in what she was saying.
"It was all because of your mother." Akuma stated. Lucy's eyes shrunk and her faced paled.
"Wh-what do you mean?" asked Lucy, now trembling, afraid of her answer.
"At a young age, your mother was the true devil. She killed people one after another without hesitation. She and her father, Zeref, fought for centuries, neither one aging or showing mercy to the other. Until Zeref was finally able to defeat your mother, but because of his weak heart, he took her powers instead of killing her. Sadly, he had to flee from civilization so that no one would be in danger of the monstrous power he now wields. After that, your mother was human and lived on normally, full of regret and pain. So you see, Zeref could've been known as a hero, but your mother took Zeref's life away from him. She also did that literally to Mavis, her own mother." Akuma said with a evil smile.
If Lucy's face could get any paler, it did. She was now sitting on the ground, speechless from Akuma's answer. Lucy was still having a hard time believing what Akuma had just told her. Lucy's entire body was trembling. On the side lines, Mavis was looking on in anger and sadness.
"N-n-no...Y-y-you mean...my mom...killed her own..." Lucy stuttered.
"She killed her own mother. After losing her powers, she became a different person, but she could never deny her true self. That means, neither can you. You are demon by blood, so just give in to the blood lust." said Akuma.
"M-Mavis said...my mom gave up her powers to protect my family...You're lying...You're lying!" Lucy screamed.
She ran straight towards Akuma, but was swatted away like a fly. She was sent flying into a wall. Lucy coughed up some more blood and was down on her hands and knees. Lucy looked up at the demon as she laughed at her suffering.
"You bastard!" Lucy growled.
Before she could get up, Akuma slammed her hand against the ground where Lucy was. When Akuma moved her hand off the ground, Lucy was laying there blood coming from her forehead, arms, legs, and everywhere else. Luckily, she was able to get up.
"I-I'm not done yet. I'll defeat you...and...prove to everyone...that I'm not weak." Lucy said as she limped towards Akuma while she held her right, that was bleeding.
"Lucy..." everyone at Fairy Tail murmured, feeling guilty.
Akuma just gained an evil smirk and grabbed Lucy once again. Lucy winced from pain when she was grabbed. This time, Akuma lifted Lucy up high enough so that the two met eye to eye.
"If you refuse to give up easily, I'll enjoy breaking you." said Akuma.
