Chapter 30
(A/N: Hi guys, sorry for the late update. Was trying to figure out a cool ending for this fight. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for everyone's opinion and say that it looks like there's gonna be one heck of a battle coming up between Natsu and Lucy! And, I wanted to send out a personal thanks to the guest called Fallen, who gave me the great idea to add a fight between Gray and Juvia also. On with the Story!)
Neither Akuma or Lucy were letting up with their attacks. The two rays continued to collide and a blinding light was constantly flashing all through out the inside of the pitch black sphere. It appeared that Akuma and Lucy were both beginning to struggle. And on the side lines, Juvia and Sting were standing side by side, trying not to blinded by the light or blown away from the intense winds.
"Lucy!" her two friends cried.
"Damn! How strong is she!?" Lucy cursed mentally, not even hearing her friends.
"Haha! You're starting to slip wench" said Akuma.
"Shut it You Demon!" Lucy shouted. The struggle still continued as that was going on, but it was true. Lucy was slowly beginning to lose ground.
"Dammit! If this keeps up..." Lucy thought. She began to grit her teeth and close her eyes tightly.
"No! I can't let that happen, especially not to her!" Lucy mentally shouted.
"Say goodbye, Brat!" shouted Akuma.
Suddenly, in her mind, it was pitch black. Except a few for few specific people. Rogue, Orga, Rufus, Minerva, Yukino, Ryu, Juvia, and Sting. Everyone in that was still important and apart of her life. They were all smiling at her, like they all knew she would do just fine on her own. Back in reality, Lucy's eyes quickly shot open.
"That's right! I won't lose to anyone again and I'm going to get stronger!" Lucy thought. The light in her attack and in her eyes intensified.
"It's over Akuma!" declared Lucy. She pulled her arms back just a bit and quickly pushed them forward. A giant bulk of energy was sent into her beam and rapidly began to push Akuma's attack back.
"WHAT!?" Akuma shouted.
"Here, you'll meet your END!" yelled Lucy. At that exact moment, Lucy's ray engulfed Akuma completely. In a matter of seconds, a massive explosion erupted inside the black sphere, engulfing everyone else inside in blinding light.
*Outside*
The vision on the lacrima screens had vanished awhile ago, so no one knew what was going on. But soon enough, cracks started to form in the sphere and light was shining through the cracks. A few moments after multiple cracks appeared, the whole sphere exploded with a pillar of light shooting into the sky. In the progress, anyone close to the sphere was blown back into the arena's walls. Light looked like it reached the heavens and all the wind that was created because of it was like a hurricane, but it all soon died down with the exception to some smoke coming out of a giant crater that remained.
"What the hell!?" Natsu exclaimed.
"What happened now!?" Erza questioned.
All of Fairy Tail's team, Rihanna and Rave of Black Knights, and the remaining members of Saber Tooth who had regained consciousness plus Ryu all stood on the ledge of the massive crater. The smoke cleared, and in the center of the crater laid a badly injured Akuma lying on her back unconscious with one eye open and the other bleeding while shut. They all then saw a blonde female body, badly injured as well, lying on top of another blonde male and a blunette. It was Lucy on top of Sting and Juvia with her arms wrapped each of their necks.
"Lucy!" everyone exclaimed. They all slid down into the crater and gathered around Lucy and the others. Rihanna was the first one to check to see if they were okay.
"Lucy, hey! Are you alright!?" Rihanna said as she began to shake Lucy. Slowly, Lucy's eyes started to flutter open.
"Ri-Rihanna?" said Lucy hoarsely.
"Lucy! Thank god you're alright!" Rihanna exclaimed.
"Y-yeah, right. Hey, Sting, Juvia, please wake up." Lucy said quietly after pushing herself onto her knees. Soon, Sting and Juvia woke up as well.
"Huh...Lucy! What happened!? Where's Akuma!?" Sting exclaimed after sitting up along with Juvia.
"Don't worry. She down for the count. But, when my attack hit her, the explosion would've engulfed all of us. So, I used my speed to reach you two before the explosion did. I was able to shield all of us, but my back was burned pretty bad." said Lucy.
"Th-then I'll heal you!" exclaimed Wendy. But, she was quickly shot down from Lucy just glaring at her.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of Lucy." Cheria said as she ran up from behind the group.
"Thank you Cheria." said Juvia. Cherian got down on her knees and quickly got to work. Silence fell upon all of them until Natsu decided to speak.
"Um, Lucy..." Natsu trailed off.
"Don't act like you can talk to me so casually, Dragneel." Lucy sneered. That comment sent a chill down Natsu's spine, but he still continued to speak.
"We all...heard what you said." said Natsu. Lucy's eyes widen, but she quickly regained her emotionless expression.
"So...You heard me explain how horribly you all treated me and Juvia, and yet you all still have the nerve to talk us? You people disgust me." Lucy spat. All of Fairy Tail's expression became full of regret. At that moment, Cheria was stopped healing Lucy.
"Alright. I healed your broken bones and your burned back. Now I can deal with your other wounds." said Cheria.
"Thanks Cheria, but I'm fine now." Lucy said as she stood up.
"You sure?" Rihanna asked.
"Yes, I'm sure." Lucy said with a warm smile towards Rihanna. Before Lucy could leave with her friends, a evil laughter rang through out the air. They all turned around to see it was Akuma.
"You're all being fools. If you all stay friends with a monster like her, you'll regret it." said Akuma.
Ryu's expression turned to anger and he was about to head towards her, but Lucy stopped him and walked towards Akuma herself. When Lucy reached her, she just towered above Akuma who just laid on the ground.
"Well, I beat you. Now tell me what I want to know." Lucy demanded.
"Heh. Very well. As you already know, your mother had the same powers that you have now, but unlike you, when she let her darkness take over, it took complete control over her. It caused her to attack place after place, killing anything that moved. Zeref and Mavis tried to reason with their daughter, but all Layla did was kill her mother on the spot by clawing her neck, causing Mavis to bleed to death. After that, your mother and Zeref fought for years, neither one aging or running out of power thanks to their powers. But one day, Zeref managed to beat your mother and was about to destroy her, but his kind heart gave in. As a result, he merely took her darkness away and fled from the mainland. Your mother soon recovered from her dreadful battle, but all she could do was wonder the content, full of despair and regret. That is, until she met your father and slowly began to forgive herself." Akuma explained.
Lucy was already cringing and tightening her fists at this point after all she heard and all of the people that were still there, they were all shocked and dead silent after hearing what Akuma had to say about Lucy's mom's past.
"But after having you, she knew that the same battle would erupt between the two of you again. So with all of her magical power, she took all of the power you would have gotten away and sealing it in a book she had supposedly gotten rid of. Afterwards, she died, without telling you or your father the truth." said Akuma. By now, Lucy's face was pale and her eyes have widen, along with everyone else.
"So you're saying...my mom really did kill innocent people and Mavis, she caused Zeref to become a dark mage...and she died trying to protect me and my father?" Lucy asked.
"Heh. And yet, all she did wad prolong the inevitable. That power is once again within you, and you will become a monster, just like your mother!" said Akuma.
She then broke out into a fit of manacle laughter. A vein appeared on Lucy's forehead and in the blink of an eye, a black mist sword appeared in her hand and she immediately plunged it into Akuma's chest. Killing her instantly. Everyone behind her hand their mouths hung open and their eyes shrunk. The sword disappeared and Lucy just stood above the corpse.
"You should be happy now. You can now really be by Saitan's side" Lucy murmured. She then turned on her heel and back towards her friends.
"Come on guys. We should be going back now. Ryu, you're coming with us." Lucy said as she walked past everyone.
All of Saber Tooth, plus Ryu, followed Lucy back into the arena. Everyone else soon left the ring as well. The judges gave all the other teams 10 points for the day since they had to spend the rest of the day fixing the ring.
