Chapter 33

Lucy had just jumped down from the roof she stood on to be face to face with Natsu. Natsu seemed exhausted from running around the city, mainly because he was breathing heavily.

"So, I am to assume you just saw Juvia's and Gray's fight?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah, I saw it." said Natsu.

"Then you should know, unlike Juvia, I will get answers. Even if I have to break you to get them." Lucy said coldly.

"I guess you're saying that we have to fight." said Natsu. After saying that, Lucy got into her battle stance.

"Of course. And you won't have to worry about me using my Heaven's and Hell's magic. You're not good enough for that magic." Lucy scolded.

"Lucy..." Natsu trailed off.

"Stop acting so friendly around me you bastard! Get it through that tiny head of yours! We are enemies now! And that is how it will always be from now on, that goes for every one of your stupid friends!" Lucy shouted.

Natsu's eyes widen from her statement. Never in his life did he think he would hear Lucy talk about Lucy so hatefully. Deep down, he thought that there was still some hope that Lucy and Juvia would come back, but after seeing how warmly they were acting with Saber Tooth, how aggressively Juvia fought with Gray, and Lucy had just said, his hope quickly began to dwindle. He tightly clenched his fists.

"...Do you...do you really mean that? After everything we all went through together?" Natsu questioned, not looking Lucy in the eye.

Before a second could pass, Natsu felt something hit his face with great force. It sent him flying into the building behind him, creating a gaping hole in the wall. Natsu struggled to sit up at first, but once he did, he quickly saw that Lucy had punched him without any magic being used.

"Don't even think you can comprehend what I felt back then. You could never understand my feelings, do you hear me?! Now, either tell me what I want to know or get up and fight!" Lucy declared. Natsu soon got back on his feet.

"...I'm sorry Lucy...but, I choose to fight." said Natsu as he took off his vest. Lucy's expression turned to a scowl after she heard Natsu say that.

"Fair enough. I've been waiting for this fight for awhile, Dragneel. So, I think it's fitting if I have you see how much I've changed." Lucy said as she slipped off her gloves for the first time in a long time.

And once she did, saying that Natsu was shocked was understatement when he saw what was underneath the gloves. There were scars and cuts all over her lower arms and her hands. There was even stitching over part of her left arm. The only place that wasn't scarred was her right hand.

"Lucy...what happened to you...your arms..." Natsu choked out. Lucy ignored his blubbering and simply tossed her gloves aside. She stared at her left arm for a short amount of time.

"I've been through hells you could never imagine. Now I can prove it." Lucy said confidently.

"Fine. If that's how it's going to be." said Natsu. They both got into their own battle stances. Neither one moved an inch until they both lunged at each.

"HAAAA!" they both cried as their fists collided.

In the arena, everyone was in an uproar of excitement from seeing Natsu and Lucy begin to clash.

"Amazing! Now Natsu of Fairy Tail and Lucy of Saber Tooth are clashing! This fight seems to be heating up already." said Chapati.

"And those two already have bad blood between each other. I have a feeling this fight will be quite intense." Yajima said.

"I'd hate to be down there, kabo." Mato said. All over the town, the remaining fighters, mainly from Fairy Tail and Saber Tooth, have noticed the uprising fight begin to erupt.

"Lucy, you're fighting Natsu? In that case, I have to clear out the competition for you." Sting said as he continued to run through the town.

"Heh. Lucy has come a long way. Now I must do my part." said Rufus while he stocked up his memory. Somewhere else, Rogue's and Sen's fight ended in a draw and neither one had energy to move, let alone get back up to fight.

"Hey mister, is that girl your friend?" Sen asked out loud.

"Yeah, she is." Rogue answered.

"Do you think she'll be ok?" asked Sen.

"Hm. She'll do fine. I know it." said Rogue.

"Rogue, are you alright?!" Juvia shouted as she came running over to Rogue.

"Juvia..." Rogue trailed off. Juvia quickly knelt down beside him.

"Don't talk. You're badly injured." said Juvia as she put his arm over her shoulder and pulled him onto his feet.

"Wait, what about her?" Rogue asked, looking over his shoulder.

"Don't worry about me mister. My sister should be here any time now. I'll be fine. I hope we can fight again soon." Sen said with a wide smile. Rogue and Juvia both had warm smiles on their faces, knowing they could leave Sen with a clear conscious. And soon, Sen was right. Rhianna had come after her a few minutes after Rogue and Juvia had left.

"Sen! Are you alright!?" Rhianna cried, running to her little sister.

"Hehe. I should be asking you that. I saw on the lacrima screen that Jura beat you and were unconscious." Sen laughed.

"You're such a smart aleck, you know that? But, yeah. Only Rave and Sisca are left for our team." said Rhianna.

"...Hey, Rhianna." said Sen.

"Yeah Sen?" Rhianna asked.

"Saber Tooth is really strong!" Sen said excitedly.

Meanwhile, Natsu and Lucy were still going at it. Since their dragon slaying elements were opposites, it seemed like the battle would go on forever. If Natsu tried to punch Lucy, she would do the same. If Lucy tried to kick Natsu, he would do the same.

"FIRE DRAGON: ROAR!" Natsu shouted.

"WATER DRAGON: ROAR!" Lucy shouted.

When the two attacks collided, steam was created and covered the whole area. The fight became a blind fight, but they both could still find the other one. The two continuously attacked the other, creating continuous steam in the process. Neither one would let up as their attacks collided.

"FIRE DRAGON: IRON FIST!"

"WATER DRAGON: AQUA FIST!"

"FIRE DRAGON: TALON!"

"WATER DRAGON: TALON!"

The two of them finally separated from each other after fighting for that long period of time. They both have taken some damage. Natsu was cut all over from the water's pressure and Lucy had burns all over from the fire's heat. They both seemed exhausted, but it appeared Lucy still had more energy left.

"I guess I underestimated you Dragneel. I should've known you'd train yourself. Guess I have no choice." said Lucy.

"Wait, what are you planning?" asked Natsu.

"HELL'S MAGIC: STAFF!" Lucy chanted. Suddenly, black magical light turned into a staff in Lucy's hands.

"What the!?" Natsu exclaimed.

"Now I'm getting serious." said Lucy seriously.
