Chapter 34

Natsu and Lucy continued their battle, but it seemed to become more one sided. Natsu was continuously dodging Lucy's staff over and over again since Lucy could turn it into something else at any time. He was soon able to put some distance between himself and Lucy. Natsu already seemed out of breath.

"I'm surprised you aren't trying to fight back Dragneel. You should be honored that I decided to use my special magic against you after all." Lucy said.

"I saw what's its capable of. That's why I'm being careful for once." said Natsu.

"Tch. Coward. HELL'S MAGIC: ARROW!" Lucy chanted.

Her staff turned into a bow and a golden arrow appeared when she pulled it back. When she released the arrow, it just barely crazed Natsu's right side and hit the wall behind him. It seemed like a harmless pierced a brick, but the arrow then suddenly exploded, along with the entire wall.

"Holy crap! Lucky that didn't hit me." Natsu said.

"I wouldn't be to sure." Lucy mumbled loud enough for Natsu to hear. He looked down at his scratch and it suddenly exploded, causing him to fall to the ground in pain.

"AH!" Natsu cried. A giant burn wound was now on his side.

"If my arrows so much as graze anything, an explosion will definitely occur. Causing the person or thing much pain." said Lucy as she walked over to Natsu. When she reached him, she had her bow disappear and grabbed his wrist to dangle him in the air.

"Now, tell me. What did I do to Fairy Tail?" Lucy growled. Natsu looked at Lucy with one eye open and clenched his free hand tightly.

"I...still can't tell you..." Natsu trailed off. Lucy growled in frustration and immediately slammed him into the ground on his back. He coughed up some blood. Lucy then got on top of him, grabbed his scarf and punched him, giving him a black eye.

"Do you know what I meant when I said I was being broken by Fairy Tail when I was fighting Akuma!?" Lucy shouted in his face, punching him again.

"I was talking about all of the insults you people, my closest friends, kept spouting about me!" said Lucy, punching him again.

"It hurt me so much to think that's how my closet friends thought of me, especially when they knew what I had gone through in the past!" said Lucy, still punching him after her sentences.

"So for once in your life, why can't you give me what I want and tell me what I want to hear!? Tell me Natsu! Tell me! WHAT HAPPENED!?" Lucy screeched at him, sending her hardest punch at him.

His head laid on its side, bruised and bleeding. Lucy still staid on top of him, a firm grip on his scarf and breathing heavily. Natsu slowly turned his head to face Lucy, and he was actually crying, only one eye closed shut. Lucy didn't even seem to care about that.

"I'm sorry...Lucy...but I can't..." Natsu sobbed.

Lucy eyes shrunk and she actually hissed at him. She used both hand to grab his scarf and slam his head against the ground. Lucy began to use both of her hands to slap and punch him over and over again. No matter how many times she hot him, he wouldn't speak or go unconscious.

"Lucy, stop it!" someone shouted. Lucy stopped hitting him and looked over her shoulder to see the one and only Titania, all beaten up and standing against a wall for support. Lucy slowly got off of Natsu to look at her.

"So, you're still in the game? I kinda hopped Kagura would've done you in." said Lucy.

"Lucy, please, stop hurting him when he's already broken." said Erza.

"No way. I won't stop hunting down every last one of you fairies until I get my answers." Lucy sneered.

"In that case...I'll tell you." Erza said, taking a step closer to her. Lucy's eyes widen when she heard that.

"Erza...don't..." Natsu choked out. But, that didn't stop Erza from speaking.

*Flashback*

It was a few weeks after the games and the Magic council themselves were standing in the center of the Fairy Tail guild with everyone present, except for Lucy.

"So, what do you people want from my guild this time?" asked Makarov.

"We are here for Lucy Heartfillia." said one of the members. The entire guild started murmuring about what they wanted.

"What!? What could you possibly want with Lucy?" said Makarov.

"In the past years, her family line has been...monitored by the council. And after seeing her in the games, we can guarantee that she will one day become the same threat her mother once was." said the same member.

"What are you talking about?! Lucy told us that her mother died when Lucy was still at a young age, what could her mother have possibly have done!?" Makarov shouted.

"I guess even Lucy would not have known about her mother's acts. Then we shall tell you." said a different member.

The council then told all of Fairy Tail about how Lucy's mother was a serial killer that killed hundreds of innocents, they even included that Layla killed her own mother, but they didn't say who her other was. The entire guild was dead silent after hearing that.

"So, after hearing that, you must all understand how dangerous Lucy Heartfillia is and why we must take her into our custody and have her executed immediately." said another council member.

"Wait, isn't there any way we can keep Lucy alive? She doesn't even know about any of this." said Erza.

"Well, if none of you have any connections with her and don't try to assist her in any way, that may stop her from having any reason to gain more power." said the council member.

"What are you saying!? We can't just abandon her like that!" Natsu shouted.

"Natsu, please. Remember, it's the only way to keep her alive." Makarov said sadly. He stepped forward, towards the council.

"Very well, Fairy Tail will cut all connections we have with Lucy, but may we still have be apart of our guild?" asked Makarov.

"That is fine, but we will be watching this guild at all times." said the council as they all left the guild. It was that point on that everyone neglected Lucy. Whenever she came back from a mission, Wendy did heal her, but she was told to stop. Later on, Juvia was the only one to neglect the council's orders, so she too was neglected.

"And that's why we all ignored you Lucy. We were worried that if we ever told you, you would just give yourself in without a fight." said Erza. After Lucy heard that, she looked at the ground, using her bangs to hid her eyes and she was slightly shaking. Natsu had been able to get back onto his feet, but he looked away from Lucy after hearing Erza explain everything.

"After hearing all that, can you forgive us?" Erza asked, holding out her hand. Lucy silently walked over to Erza and appeared to about to grab her hand, but instead, she grabbed Erza's wrist tightly. She then looked up at Erza, and her eyes had a cold look in them.

"Traitors." Lucy whispered. Suddenly, she threw Erza straight at Natsu. The two collided and quickly collapsed on the ground. Lucy then turned to them.

"After hearing that...I'll make you pay!" Lucy shouted.
