REVISE 7/28/2013.

"Oh. My —"

Hermione's gasp met Kirsten's ears. "Oh my" was definitely right as she followed Hermione's gaze.

Remus's whole body was rigid.

He was undergoing his transformation.

And she had a sinking sensation that he might not have taken his potion tonight.

"He didn't take his potion tonight! He's not safe!" Hermione warned.

Shit.

"Run," Sirius whispered. "Run. Now."

However, Kirsten's feet were rooted to the ground as her eyes caught sight of the still chained Ron and Pettigrew. Harry was trying to go forward, but her father threw him back away from the transforming Remus.

"Kia, we have to go," Hermione muttered frightened.

"Leave it to me—RUN!"

A terrible snarling noise erupted as Remus' head began to lengthen. His shoulders hunching and from what Kirsten could see hair was sprouting on both his face and his hands, which were curling into clawed paws.

Kirsten's heart was beating rapidly within her chest at the sight. The man she had come to love was now transformed into a fully fledged werewolf. He snapped his long jaws and wrenched himself free from the manacle binding that was holding himself, Ron, and Pettigrew together.

She took a step back and watched with surprise as an enormous bearlike dog bound forward and seized the werewolf by the neck, pulling him backward. The fourteen year old was slightly relieved to see that Remus was now away from Ron and —

Her eyes tore away from the two, who were fighting with their jaws and claws, to land on Pettigrew.

"No!" she screamed out as the traitor bound forward at Remus's wand.

Blinding flashes of light met her eyes twice in a row and she saw Ron laying motionless on the ground along with Crookshanks.

Kirsten ran toward Harry and Pettigrew, who was now disarmed. She was getting closer to them only to see Pettigrew's form shrink down into a rat.

She was angry.

Beyond angry.

To be more exact:

She was downright pissed.

Something snapped within her and she found a feral growl erupt from her throat. She felt her eyes sting slightly as a pump of adrenaline ran through her veins before she blinked. The sting went away in a matter of seconds and she glanced at her surroundings. Everything around her seemed so much more...sharp. She felt lighter than she had ever felt in her life.

She felt so strong.

Thump, thump. Thump, thump. Thump, thump.

Her breathing was fast as pain coursed through her head. Heartbeats all around pounding ferociously in her mind. She could even feel those all the way in the castle. The ones that were beating slow as sleep over took them. And she could feel the ones near her. The ones that were beating fast in fear as danger loomed over them near her.

But she was only focused on one thing at the moment.

Or more likely someone.

She knew what Pettigrew's heartbeat sounded like. After all she heard it on the train and it became familiar to her as she would experience outbursts throughout the school year whenever Ron was nearby. She just never realized it was him until now.

She could see him with her sharpened eyes, weaving between the grass and she could hear his heartbeat clear as day.

Kirsten knew one thing was for certain as the familiar bloodlust rushed through her.

She was going to kill him.

Pushing all the pain aside, Kirsten ran after the rodent with her bloodlust pushing her to her goal. Her body felt so light as she rushed at him. She was getting closer that his tail was only a mere foot away from her.

WHAM!

Her body was soaring in the next instant and she bit her lip as sharp claws sunk deep into her skin. She opened her eyes only to meet narrowed vicious eyes. Her body slammed against the ground and she couldn't cry out in pain as they rolled down a hill. In fact she didn't feel the impact. Instead, the adrenaline was still rushing through her veins and she instinctively moved her head to the left as he snapped his jaws down at her.

The werewolf brought his arm forward slashed right at her chest and Kirsten abruptly brought her leg forward before his next swing made contact. Successfully shoving him off her, Kirsten breathed heavily and tried her hardest to get her bearings but failed miserably. She could feel the adrenaline slowly leaving her body and the pain seeping through agonizingly as she just lay there on the ground.

Her breathing was becoming more and more shallow due to the ridiculous amount of pain she was feeling at the moment. Her entire body felt as she were hit by a high speed train and her vision became too blurred for her to see anything at all.

It was then that she felt it.

Through the agonizing pain, she could still feel it. The cold feeling seeped into her body in fashion she knew was familiar, and really hoped it wasn't what she thought it was. She blinked several times but her vision was still too blurred, black dots obscuring her vision.

Then she felt it...

The cold clammy hands held her face and she closed her eyes, the pain and cold too much for her to bear.
