Chapter 36

(A/N: Hey guys, just wanted to tell you guys that I forget to add something important about Lucy in the previous chapters. After her fight with Akuma, her right is now permanently gold and her left is now permanently black, the pupils I mean, not the whole eye. Anyway, sorry I forgot to mention that.)

Much dust was created after the collision, and once it cleared, there stood a crater that looked to be over half as wide as the ring in the arena. Along with some houses on the edge of the crater were reduced to ruble. The four Fairy Tail mages were all lying on the left side of the crated and Lucy was lying on the right. They were all covered in cuts, bruised, and dirt, and all of their clothes were in tatters. No one moved for a few minutes, but Lucy then began to sit up. She had returned to her normal form after using almost all of her magic. She struggled to get back on her feet, she also staggered around for a few moments.

"Damn. Looks like we all went overboard with our magic. Well, it doesn't matter now. I've won." Lucy said. She turned on her heel and was about to limp out of the crater.

"Hold it!" a voice called out. Lucy could easily tell who it was. She looked over her shoulder it see Natsu barely standing and in worst condition than Lucy.

"I thought you were unconscious already." said Lucy after turning around to face him.

"You should know it takes a lot more than that to take me out." Natsu said, almost a whisper. Lucy then had gold light and water surround her arms and legs.

"Then this time, I'll make sure you stay down." Lucy said with determination in her eyes. Natsu also surrounded his arms and legs in flames.

"Then I'm gonna try my best to fight back." said Natsu.

The two then got into their battle stances once again, this time more determined then ever to settle things. Suddenly, the two lunged at each other once again. This time, when they fought each other, they only used hand to hand fighting. They each kicked each other in the side and hit each other in the face. Their attacks continued to collide over and over again.

The entire arena was in an uproar of excitement as they watched Natsu's and Lucy's match continue to rage on. The whole arena was practically shaking.

"This match is getting intense! Only Natsu and Lucy were able to get up after that last attack, and now they're both locked in heated combat! Both just barely holding their ground!" exclaimed Chapati.

"Indeed. It's just sad that part of the town was destroyed." Yajima sadly chuckled.

"Those mages never learn, kabo." said Mato. Meanwhile, the rest of Lucy's team made their way to where the fight was going after they all beat their opponents. Sting had help from Rufus in the middle of the fight.

"That light came from the center of town. And judging from the lightening, Laxus must be one of Lucy's opponents." said Rufus, close on Sting's heels.

"She's fighting the rest of the Fairy Tail team. We have to make sure she's ok!" Sting exclaimed. Rufus had a wide smirk on his face. Rogue and Juvia were going in the same direction. Juvia was holding his hand tightly as he tried keeping up with her.

"Rogue, you sure you're up to running this much?" Juvia asked over her shoulder.

"Yeah, don't worry about me." answered Rogue, also grasping her hand tightly. Juvia nodded her head and put her attention on heading straight. She also just missed seeing Rogue gain a slight blush.

Natsu and Lucy were both evenly matched after they both lost most of their energy. Their fight seemed to be going on forever. After a while, the two jumped away from each other, both appeared to be beaten to bloody pulps.

"D-damn." they both muttered. The fight was dragging on for too long and they were both rapidly running out of magic.

"Time to end this." they both thought. Lucy and Natsu both pulled back one fist and put all of their magic into them. Fire surrounded Natsu's fist until it looked like a fire ball while gold and black light and water surrounded Lucy's.

"I never thought we'd be in this situation Lucy." said Natsu.

"That makes two of us." Lucy replied.

Wind and magic energy spun all around them as the two of them glared each other down. Neither of them moved for some time. But after some time passed, their eyes widen and they both took off, almost flying, right at each other. Both let out their fiercest battle cry.

"AAAHHHHH!" they both cried.

There was a sudden burst of light and once it died down, you could see both Natsu and Lucy after they both passed each other. All magical power release out of their bodies and they both landed on one knee with their bangs covering their eyes. Neither of them moved or made a sound for a few moments, until Lucy coughed up some blood and had to use her hand for support to stay kneeling on the ground. Natsu hadn't moved yet, but he soon spoke.

"I'm...happy for you...Lucy...You really have...gotten so strong..." Natsu said. He then had blood run down from his lip and he then fell to his knees before falling to the ground, unconscious. Lucy soon forced herself back onto her feet. She slowly raised her right arm into the air while her hand was clenched into a fist.

"I did it. I finally won." Lucy thought.

"Unbelievable! The final fight is over! Lucy has defeated the Fairy Tail team and the winner of the Grand Magic Games have been decided! It is the one and only...SABER TOOTH!" Chapati shouted.

The arena was now practically shaking from the cheering of the crowd. Back in the town, Lucy let her arm fall back down and all she could do was just stand there after receiving all of that damage. Her whole body was already close to being numb.

"Lucy!" familiar voices shouted. Lucy slowly turned around to see her whole team standing there with wide smiles.

"Sting, Juvia, Rogue, Rufus." Lucy murmured. She slowly limped up towards her friends, but she was stumbling. Before she got a chance to fall over, Sting raced down towards her and caught her just as she was about to fall down.

"That was intense and crazy, you know that?" Sting chuckled as he picked Lucy up bridal style.

"Hey, I am special after all." Lucy said jokingly.
