Chapter 7
Turtlelove POV
We travel for the entire night to get to the portal. The valley is a huge one. Sitting between two mountains that not many Minecraftians would dare climb. The tops of them are covered in snow and ice.
When we get there, I expect to see a portal with a few guards surrounding it. What we actually find however, is much more frightening.
The portal is inside of a tower. A tall tower made of stone and other things from the Dark Dimension. There are guards everywhere and the only way in is through the front door. My heart sinks in despair as I see the tower. How are we going to get in it long enough to use the portal?
Shade however, has spotted something off to the side of the valley. It appears to be a small camp, similar to ours but it looks like it's meant for only one person. The person in question appears to be sitting and watching the tower.
We walk over to the camp and find out that it's a girl. She wears a long purple shirt, black pants, a pair of sandals, and a golden necklace with an amethyst charm on it. She has blonde hair, pointed ears, and large eyes. On closer inspection I realize she has one scarlet eye and one hazel eye. She's short and I can only describe her as looking like a pixie.
When she sees us she gets a little defensive. She pulls out and iron broadsword and truly looks like she wants to kill us.
I speak up before she decides we aren't friendly. "Hi. Listen, we don't want to hurt you. We've been traveling for a long time to get to this portal."
"Why would you want to find this portal?" The girl asks threateningly.
"We want to kill Herobrine."
Immediately, she puts her sword away and looks for all the world, like a very friendly person and not like she wanted to kill us five seconds ago. She extends a hand which I accept wearily.
"Meredith." She says.
"Turtlelove." I say. I let my hand drop. "This is Amanda and Shade." I gesture to them. They smile and offer their greetings. "So why are you here?" I ask.
"Well," She considers her answer for a long time. "I guess for the same reason you are. I just didn't have as many people with me than I needed." She laughs. "It's actually only me. I've been here watching their rotations for a while and I think I've pegged the exact time that no one is watching and I could slip in unseen. The only problem is that once I'm in, I don't know how many of them will be waiting for me."
We all consider what she's said, and Amanda speaks up. "I think I have an idea."
I leave Amanda discussing battle strategies, and walk a little ways away from her camp. I know Shade is following me so I stop and wait for him. The spot I choose is a tree just a little ways away. I lean with my back against it.
Shade is in front of me almost immediately. "You okay?"
"Fine." I say, but I'm not fine at all. How on earth are we going to get in there? What if she's already dead? Do we even have the power to kill Herobrine?
I can tell he doesn't believe me but he doesn't push it and I'm grateful. Instead he bends down and kisses me lightly on the head. "It'll be fine. We'll win."
I look up at him with a face that probably resembles that of a child. "Promise?" I barely whisper it, but he hears it anyways.
"I promise."
And I believe him.
After about an hour, Amanda and Meredith call us back over. Through the time it took for them to plan, I had sat down with Shade next to me. So now when we stand and walk over, we're hand in hand.
Amanda clears her throat. "Okay. So the entrance is here." She draws a little "x" in the dirt. "As soon as they leave to switch guards Shade and I will run on either side of the tower to cover you like this," She makes a few more marks in the dirt. "and Meredith and you will run through the door and make sure at least one of you gets through the portal in one piece." She sits back on her heels, seeming pleased with her work.
"Do we have a plan after that?" I ask because it seems like that's the only part that hasn't been thought through completely.
Meredith speaks this time. "Other than killing Herobrine? Don't die."
It's meant as a sarcastic joke, but no one laughs. We all know that could very well end up being the case.
Shade speaks up from beside me. "When do we go?"
Meredith answers simply. "Midnight."
Kitsune POV
"So, I guess you enjoy jailing little girls?"
For the last few hours, I've been passing the time by trying to get Mr. Strong to either talk, or get pissed. I can't say I've succeeded yet.
"I personally don't know how someone would sleep at night knowing they could be responsible for several people's deaths." Every so often I see a vein in his head twitch. I hope it's in response to me.
"What about me hmm?" I start using a baby voice. "I'm just a wittle gurl. Would you weally hurt a wittle gurl?"
He doesn't turn around when he finally responds. "I hurt Kit."
His voice is rough and he pulls his thin lips into a tight smirk. I know he's only trying to shut me up, but I won't take it. "And I bet it haunts you everytime you close your eyes. I bet you hate yourself for it."
He doesn't even hesitate. "I didn't have as much fun as I will hurting Turtle."
This gets me. I move away from the bars, sitting back in the corner trying to control my anger. I know with a guy like him, showing anger will only tell him he's won. Instead I set to silently praying to Turtle. Please, don't come. Stay the hell away from here...
Holy freaking crap you guys. I'm sorry this chapter took soooo long and it's kinda short. (okay. Really short. Don't rub it in) I promise next chapter will come within the week and it will be much, much longer to make up for all the missed time. Hope I still have some readers out there!
