HI everyone! Sorry for the long wait, school is super busy and it feels like sometimes it sucks the motivation out of me... But I've made you guys wait forever, so here's a chapter!
I hope you like it ^_^
Deidara sighed and plopped down on the ground, glad that Sasori had finally stopped so he could take a break. He had a splitting headache by now and was covered in sweat from the extreme heat. He pulled his legs up to his chest and rested his forehead on his knees, closing his eyes.
"Don't fall asleep brat, we're not stopping for that long," Sasori said, glancing over at the blonde.
"Mhmm," he hummed, slightly nodding his head but not really paying attention to what his partner had said. Sasori looked over at his partner again. He wasn't trying to push him too hard, but they needed to hurry to get to Suna; he could clearly see that the blonde's condition was getting worse. Sasori sighed noticing that his partner was once again starting to fall asleep. It would definitely be harder to get to Suna then get the plant he needed to make the cure for Deidara's sickness.
It was already about mid-day, not a very good time to travel as the sun would be directly overhead, but leaving now was the only way they'd be able to reach Suna before nightfall and still have time to find a hotel to stay in.
"Get up brat, we have to get moving," he said. A muffled complaint came from the blonde but he didn't get up. "Now Deidara." He said in a sterner tone.
"Noooo," the blonde whined, looking up at him with tired eyes.
"Yes. Suna is only a few more hours away, if we leave now we can get there before nightfall and then you'll have plenty of time for sleep." The blonde muttered a few more quiet grumbles but got up from where he'd been sitting. Thankfully, Sasori had been right, and they were able to reach Suna before nightfall without any trouble.
Sasori was somewhat disappointed in his old village… Two S-rank criminals, even the one that came from here, were able to walk through the place so casually without any suspicion whatsoever. It almost made him a little embarrassed to have come from here…
He stopped, also holding out an arm to stop Deidara who was about to walk right past the hotel where he'd decided they'd be staying. He ushered the blonde inside and after paying and getting the key, the two walked up to their room.
"Get some sleep brat, in the morning we have to go do some research to find out where that plant is." He said, setting his bag down near the wall and going over to one of the two beds in the room. His partner nodded, dropping his own bag and climbing into the other bed before falling asleep in only seconds.
Sasori lay down in his bed looking up at the ceiling. Tomorrow they'd have to spend the whole day figuring out where the plant was. Then they'd stay at the hotel one more night before heading out early the next morning. They couldn't risk spending too long in Suna because not only would the risk of them being found out increase, but Deidara's condition would also get worse. They needed to hurry up and fix this before it got too bad. Sasori closed his eyes, deciding to get some sleep now.
"Deidara, it's time to get up, we have a lot to do today," Sasori said, nudging his partner. Sasori was already ready to go and he just needed his partner to get up and get ready. After all, they really did have a lot to do today if they were going to find out where that plant was. Deidara grumbled, moving slightly under the covers.
"Come on, you know I hate waiting brat."
"Okaaayy," Deidara yawned, groggily sitting up in bed. Sasori tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for his partner to get ready. Finally, after several long minutes, the blonde was ready and they left the building.
"Alright, first we'll see if there's any info on it in the library here," Sasori said.
"Okay." Shortly later they had reached the building and went in. The place was a lot bigger than Sasori had remembered. The building was cylindrical and two stories tall, and had books lining every wall from floor to ceiling. There were also a few tables scattered about and a desk in the corner where an old librarian was hunched over a thick book.
Sasori went around the building until he found the section where all of the plant books were and grabbed an armful of them, instructing his partner to also do so. They carried the books to a table where they dumped them. Then they each grabbed a book and began to look through it for any information on this cure-all plant's location. Hours and hours ticked by in silence as they leafed through the pages of the thick books.
Finally, after several hours of doing this, Sasori decided it was time for a small beak so they could go get some lunch. Of course he didn't have to eat, but he could, and he was pretty sure his partner would be hungry by now. Sasori closed the book he'd just finished searching through and looked up to tell his partner that they would be taking a break only to see that the blonde had fallen asleep on the open book in front of him.
"Brat, get up," he said, reaching over the table and gently nudging his partner.
"Hmm?" Deidara lifted his head off of the book and looked up at his partner.
"Let's go get something to eat, it's already lunch time" he said. Deidara stood up and followed the redhead from the library and down the road a ways to a small restaurant. After they'd ordered their food, Sasori noticed that Deidara wasn't even eating.
"Why aren't you eating your food brat?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Just not that hungry un," Deidara replied, shrugging.
"Well try to eat something or you'll probably get hungry later," Sasori said.
Deidara ate a few spoonfulls of the ramen in front of him but still not very much. Sasori sighed silently, and got up from the table they were sitting at, gesturing for his partner to follow him. We need to hurry and find out where this plant is. If the brat isn't even eating now things must be getting worse, Sasori thought as they left the restaurant.
Once they were back at the library, they went back to the table where their books still were and got back to work. It was a few hours later when Sasori finally noticed something.
"Hay brat, I think I found something."
"Really un?" Deidara asked, getting up and walking around the table to look over Sasori's shoulder at the book in front of him. After looking over the information, Sasori was happy to see that the book did say where the plant was located and had some information on how to use it. After reading over it all a few times to store all the info into his memory, he closed the book and stood from the table.
"Let's go back to the hotel. We'll need to leave early tomorrow morning." He said, leaving the building with Deidara walking behind him.
Deidara yawned as he followed behind his partner, rubbing tiredly at his eyes when his vison blurred slightly. He found it annoying how tired he'd been lately but there was really nothing he could do about it. He stumbled a bit but was able to catch his balance. Shaking his head a bit to wake himself up, he jogged a bit to catch up with Sasori who had gotten further ahead.
By the time they'd reached the hotel, Deidara felt like he was practically sleep walking. He sluggishly followed his partner to their room and walked over to his bed. He kicked off his shoes, got in bed, and fell asleep almost as soon as his head hit the pillow.
Sasori was up and getting ready for them to leave before the sun had even risen. He only took a few minute to get everything together and his cloak on before he was ready. Now all he needed was to get his partner up.
"Brat, it's time to go," he said, nudging the blonde. He didn't react.
"Deidara, I told you you'd need to get up early," Sasori sighed, shaking the blonde's shoulder slightly. He still didn't get up or even react to the redhead. Sasori frowned, looking down at his partner and taking note of the light blush on the blonde's face. He reached down and laid a hand across the blonde's forehead, frowning when he felt how warm it was. He tried to wake him a few more times but was met with the same result.
Cursing under his breath slightly, Sasori got together Deidara's things. Then he took Deidara's cloak and put it on the blonde before picking him up to carry him piggy-back style. He silently left the hotel walking down the empty streets of Suna. As he passed the gates, he scoffed quietly when he noticed those who were supposed to be on guard asleep at their posts. Honestly, it's only midnight! Oh well, it makes it easier for us to get out. Sasori thought, shifting his grip a bit on his partner. Glancing around once to make sure they weren't being followed, Sasori left the village and made his way into the desert.
So, I hoped you like it, and please review to tell me what you thought, I'd really appreciate it.
And thanks for reading!
