Chapter 7
The Hogwarts Express
Frank's P.O.V
He was liking the magical world more and more with every passing day, during their four week stay at the leaky cauldron they did every single thing to be done at Diagon alley, he went out on his first proper date with Hazel, made some new friends who were also starting at Hogwarts that fall, but the best thing they ever did was hitting the candy and joke stores.
At Zonko's they would stuff their pockets with candy on a daily basis, Franks personals favourites were the gummy animals they would walk, fly or crawl around before he ate them but the ones they all enjoyed were Bertie bots every flavoured beans, they would all stay up late some nights taking turns randomly picking one and eating it.
So when the day to leave came by Frank was a bit sad, he didn't think Hogwarts would be even close to the alleys level of "wickedness". With that on mind he had went to bed early that night having planned to get up by dawn to do a last minute shopping trip.
The next day however it appeared that Hypnos had it in for him because he didn't wake up until it was 8 and by then it was only a matter of minutes before the others started to wake up. In the end he decided to forgo the trip and opted to pack his things and get ready for the trip to Hogwarts.
9 O'clock found him downstairs at the pub having a cup of morning tea while waiting for the others to get ready (The Brits had rub off on him). Soon enough Hazel joined him and they sat there enjoying each other's company while talking about nothing in particular.
In a haze of rush and excitement Frank found himself running towards the pillar between platforms 9 and 10 in King's Cross Station and hoping he wouldn't get splattered by the wall that was closing up on him.
The roman demigod closed his eyes right before impact in fear of crashing and as he opened them again after hearing his surroundings change, he was faced with magnificent scarlet steam engine with the words "Hogwarts Express" writing with golden letters on it.
Frank was the last one to get through so when the others noticed him Percy said "we might as well board the train and find us some compartments" while ushering them towards the doors of the train.
Once inside they found that one compartment wouldn't fit them all, they ended up splitting, Percy and Jason agreeing silently that each of them should be in a compartment in case trouble happened on them, which it probably would, given their luck, Frank still couldn't believe how alike these two were. Percy, Annabeth, Hazel and himself went towards the end of the train while the others headed to the front. As they passed the second compartment and found it empty he heard a whistle which probably signalled the last call for everyone to get on the train. The opening of a door in front of them and the students rushing in confirmed his suspicions, unfortunately this meant that most compartments were filled up almost instantly and they had to move to the very end of the train.
The emptiest compartment they could find was one with two other guys who looked like they were also first years, one with raven black hair and eyes so green they reminded Frank of Emeralds, while the other had bright red hair, brown eyes and what looked like a smudge of dirt on his nose right in the middle of his freckle riddled face. Frank thought he'd seen the redhead somewhere but couldn't for the life of him remember where. Percy went ahead and knocked on the door and said "Hello, mind if we sit with you guys? All the other compartments were practically full."
"No, go ahead" was the reply they got from the green eyed boy.
As he and Percy lifted their trunks into their places while the girls got themselves settled down Frank was trying to remember when he'd met the red head. When they finished he settled himself in the middle of Hazel and the black haired boy. He noticed that the red head was avoiding his gaze. Trying to get rid of the awkward silence they were falling into Hazel started to make introductions starting with herself "I'm Hazel Levesque, this is Frank Zhang and these are Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase" she said while pointing at each of them respectively.
Taking initiative the wizards introduced themselves too, first was the green eyed boy "I'm Harry, Harry Potter."
That caught Frank's attention, this was the boy they were supposed to help, this was the boy that was destined to beat Voldemort, THIS was the boy who had the fate of all mankind, of the present and future resting on his shoulders. He looked at him more closely, surveying him, trying to see if he looked strong, smart or even fast, he found nothing but the lightning bolt shaped scar that he was sure Jason would like, in fact he looked scrawny, scrawnier than any healthy 11 year old should be and the baggy clothes he was wearing weren't helping at all, but these were all first impressions and Frank knew how misleading these could be.
He was snapped back to the compartment when the redhead started introducing himself not meeting any of their eyes "I'm Ron Weasley." Weasley? Where had he heard that name? Oh…
*Flashback*
It was their first day in the wizarding world, they'd all woken up but found Nico and Leo both missing. After a lot of heated discussions and a couple of inquires directed at the barkeep they knew that they had went into diagon alley which was the wizarding equivalent of a shopping district or mall in the "muggle" world as the wizards call it. They decided that Frank and Jason would go searching for them while the girls and Percy would wait in case they came back.
They had Tom the barkeep show them the way into the alley, he led them to a small clearing at the back of the old pub that had bins strewn around it, he then tapped some bricks on the wall in front of them, Frank was trying to memorise the pattern in case they needed it some other time but got distracted when he saw the brick start to move and rotate followed by the others around it, it was like a domino effect. He watched as the bricks re-aligned themselves to form an arch but what amazed him even more was what was behind it.
From where he was standing Frank saw the whole of diagon alley spread out in front of him, after getting over the initial shock they started making their way through the crowd of shoppers that had formed throughout the alley. Weaving their way through the crowd they kept an eye out for their missing friends but even though it sounded heartless their hearts weren't into it, they knew they'd be safe Nico and Leo could hold their own, they were doing this trip just to stop the girls from worrying.
They were making slow progress because they were basically just going around peering into shops and checking their merchandise. Their endeavour was uneventful until they reached a candy store called Honeydukes, Frank was particularly pissed because they didn't have any money to spend. Jason was on his way out when Frank noticed a blond boy in the corner talking to another boy who looked roughly his age, if you could call it talking; it looked more like the two were in an intense argument. The other boy who had red hair and freckles seemed to have had it with the blond, what unsettled Frank was the fury in the Redheads eyes, it was deeply ingrained and the snide smirk plastered across the blonde face didn't help at all.
The son of Ares looked around trying to see of either of the boys' parents had turned up but his quick scan showed no signs of anyone intervening soon and unfortunately they also showed no signs of his friend. Turning his attention back to the two boys he caught a flash of movement as the redhead finally snapped and pulled something form inside his robes, at that Frank tensed, ready to literally pounce at the guys in case this turned serious. As it turned out luck was on his side for the redhead had pulled out a stick of wood which he held in what clearly look like an unpracticed grip and pointed it at the still smirking boy, the boys' composure completely broke down for a moment showing utter fear but he quickly slipped back into his cool demeanour after noticing that the boy didn't seem to know what to do with it. Meanwhile Frank had walked closer to them, not enough to be noticed by them but just enough to eavesdrop.
"Don't know how to use your wand yet, eh Weasley?" Said the blond with a smirk plastered back on his face.
"I just don't want to waste my time on scum like you Malfoy." Retorted Weasley trying to hide the fact the he indeed didn't know how to use the 'wand' but he was doing such a bad job, it was almost like the truth was etched on his face.
The Malfoy boy seemed to take that personally and took out his own 'wand' but unlike Weasley he held his with deadly confidence and said
"We'll see who's scum when I'm done with you Weasley."
Frank took that as his queue to intervene so he closed up the remaining distance between him and the fighting boys and said "That'll be enough guys, break it up" he didn't expect them to listen to him from the first time so he wasn't surprised when the Malfoy boy said "and who might you be exactly?" In reply Frank put on what he thought was a really intimidating face and said "someone who doesn't want to make a scene." It seemed to work because the blond boy put his wand back in his robe pocket and seemed to back down. He looked past Frank who was blocking his view of Weasley and said "looks like you've been saved this time Weasel" with that said he started storming out of the store but just as he was about to move out of earshot he added "we'll finish this on the express."
After making sure that the Malfoy boy had left the roman demigod turn't around to face the Weasley boy he'd just helped but was surprised to see he looked angry rather than grateful.
"I didn't need your help!" Yelled the boy, his face turning redder with every word.
"I know you didn't." Frank replied trying to fix the situation. He thought introducing himself would be a step in the right direction so he continued "My name is Frank Zhang by the way, what's yours?"
The boy looked conflicted as he tried to decide if he should befriend Frank or not. "Why do YOU care? Your probably just another Deatheater kid ! "
Frank was thoroughly confused, why would he want to eat death¿? He didn't think that Thanatos would be easy on his stomach, he'd probably be too stringy even in his lion or dragon forms and also Frank didn't want to find out if he was also God-intolerant, it was enough he was lactose intolerant.
He voiced his concerns but the boy looked at him like he'd just committed something blasphemous but didn't comment and just stormed off.
*End Flashback*
That was the last time he'd seen Ron, he hadn't told his friends about his little adventure not because he liked keeping secrets but mainly because he didn't think it was important. The redhead now seemed more timid, it was probably because he had time to cool down but it was a bit more than that, it was like he wanted to say something but didn't know how to phrase it or he was just too shy to say it.
He pulled his attention back to the conversation Annabeth had just finished telling them their cover story which they all had agreed on and now had memorised by heart. She was telling them how they came from the USA when Ron interrupted her; he was looking at Frank when he blurted out "I'm sorry about what happened last time".
He said it so fast that Frank would have had trouble making out his words had he not been paying attention to him anyways, while everyone was still in shock and looking at Ron he tried to end the scene and spare the redhead the pain of having to humiliate himself in front of the others he said "don't worry about it, it was nothing."
He look around the compartment and saw that everyone was looking at HIM now but he didn't mind, his eyes settled on Hazel she looked at him and they locked gazes for a moment as he sent her a look to say "later". It was nice how now they could communicate with just looks, it made him feel closer to her.
He looked back at Ron, he liked the boy a bit already and he rally hopes they could become friends in the future.

(A/N): So… I really hope you guys liked it, if any of you old readers have noticed I added a prophecy to the story (A new evil stirs in the dark, Kingdom of the dead undone by the heir, Time must rewind to reverse the fall, Blood of the three to stop it all, Snakes and lions shall ally, Both worlds shall merge and end as one, With the help of the hero lost in time.) because I thought the story was missing something and this was EXACTLY what it needed, also head to my profile I'll be putting up some polls soon because there are some characters I can't find the right house to put them in, and lastly as some of you have noticed the last 2 chapters haven't been up to standard, that's mainly because I can't get in touch with my Beta (I don't blame her, I HAVE been away for a while now) so I'm looking for someone else to Beta my work for me so if you're INTERESTED just PM me. And as always PLEASE Review, reviews make me happy even flames, also favourite and follow, I also like those, but reviews are the best they motivate me to write faster. ~SuperGoatE
