'Was it necessary to invite Hector Grey?' asked Sirius, bringing his head back inside the tent and frowning at James who was adjusting his robes.
'He's part of the Order Padfoot, it isn't my fault you don't get along with him.' Said James cheerfully, looking at himself in a mirror.
'Might have something to do with the fact that your baby is in his sister's belly.' Said Remus shrugging as James snickered.
Sirius grinned and stuck his head out of the tent again, looking over to where Eileen was standing, her hand resting lightly on her now showing stomach. She caught him looking and smiled, causing him to grin like an idiot until she rolled her eyes and turned back to talk to McGonagall. He continued to watch her as she talked, loving the way the setting sun caught in the waves of her hair. She was wearing a soft green coloured dress that accentuated her round belly and Sirius felt his heart rate increase as he wished he could sneak off with her for some privacy.
'Padfoot, get your head back in here we're ready.' Said James and Sirius dragged his eyes off Eileen and turned back to his friends inside the tent.
James looked dashing in black dress robes and Sirius pulled him in for an embrace. 'You look great Prongs mate. Even your hair's playing nice today.' The three men laughed, beaming at each other.
'You two clean up pretty nice yourselves,' added James. 'Let's go.'
'You're ready?' asked Sirius, pulling the tent flap open for James to step out.
'I've been ready since the first day I laid eyes on Lily Evans.' James said as the crowd of guests turned in their seats to watch them walk up the aisle.
Eileen and Peter quickly joined them, detaching themselves from the conversations they were having and taking their places next to the other Marauders. Remus held his arm out to Eileen and she took it happily as Peter fell in on Remus' right. He squeezed Peter's shoulder in greeting and James and Sirius led them up the aisle, grinning and greeting the guests on the way.
'Congratulations.'
'Well done James!'
Tiny Dedalus Diggle got up and rung James' hand as Emmeline Vance winked at Sirius.
'You look lovely Eileen dear.' Piped up Dorcas Meadowes reaching out to touch Eileen's belly and smiling warmly at her.
'Thank you Dorcas.' she said, continuing with Remus down the aisle.
'Do stand up straight Peter!' called his mother from a row down, making Peter redden but he straightened up, as Sirius and James laughed.
They reached the front and James and Sirius took their places as Peter, Remus and Eileen took seats in the front. Remus turned to Eileen and kissed her cheek. 'You do look lovely Eileen.' He said happily.
She smiled at him and reached out to straighten his bow tie. 'You too Remus – Oh! Here feel.' She said suddenly, taking his hand and pressing it to her growing stomach. 'Feel it?'
Remus felt the tiniest of flutters against his hand and couldn't help but grin widely. 'Wow! Yes, that's brilliant.' He said glancing up at Sirius who was watching them and smiling.
'Peter feel it too! They're getting stronger now.' She grabbed Peter's hand on her other side and pushed it against her belly. 'I can't imagine how hard they'll be kicking in a few months.' Eileen laughed as Peter removed his hand, grinning, and she rubbed her hand over her belly.
Soft music started to play and everyone's heads turned toward the end of the aisle where Lily had appeared, and she was stunning. The guests rose to their feet at once and Lily beamed over the crowd. Her gown was a silvery white and she seemed to glow in the evening sun. At the front of the aisle as everyone watched, captivated by the beauty of the bride, Sirius looked over at James whose eyes were glistening. Sirius had never seen James so happy and in seeing it he felt overcome by emotions, utter joy for James flowed through him and as Lily reached them Sirius realised his cheek was damp with tears. He wiped them away and turned with James and Lily to face the Warlock who would wed them.
They couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening to have a wedding. The sun was setting over the water, casting the wedding and guests in a soft light and outlining the people standing at the altar as Lily and James said their vows, grasping each other's hands. The evening air was warm and you could hear the errant bugs and birds around them, and it was clear to all who were present that something truly magical was taking place there. When the Warlock pronounced James and Lily husband and wife he placed his wand against their joined hands and stars erupted and the guests cheered, raising out of their seats and applauding as Lily and James kissed and then turned towards the crowd who swelled towards them, engulfing them in hugs and well wishes. Remus, Peter and Eileen reached them first, thumping James on the back as Eileen hugged Lily tightly.
Sirius managed to part the crowd by yelling happily 'Mr. and Mrs. James Potter coming through!' The crowd laughed as Sirius marched happily back down the aisle, James and Lily following behind him, clasping hands with guests and beaming. Remus, Peter and Eileen followed the progression back into the tents where tables had been magically set up and laid out with dinner things and servers waited, holding plates of delicious smelling foods. James, Lily and Sirius took places at the head table as the other guests swarmed in behind them, taking seats and all together creating a loud, happy chatter. The meal was just as delicious as it had smelt and Eileen, Remus and Peter all helped themselves to seconds, chatting with James' parents who shared their table. When they were properly stuffed Remus led Eileen around the tent, introducing her to his own mother as well as Peter's.
Finally Sirius stood at the head table drink in hand, and brought everyone's attention back to the front. James was shaking his head slightly in amusement as Sirius winked at Lily.
'Thank you all for being here today to share this day with James and Lily and also to bear witness to James finally accomplishing what he set out to do since he was eleven...marry Lily Evans.' The guests laughed and Lily blushed as James kissed her cheek. 'See he knew better than to ask me not to embarrass him today.' Said Sirius giving James a sad shake of his head. 'So he had Remus do it for him. Good try James mate.' He said as Remus shrugged and yelled 'I tried James!' as everyone laughed again.
'I think I can speak not only for myself but for Remus and Peter too, when I say that we are so happy to see this day come…because now after eight years we can finally stop watching James chase after you Lily. It was getting embarrassing for us all.' Sirius hung his head, chuckling to himself as the guests laughed too. 'For those of you who knew James and Lily at Hogwarts, you might still be confused as to how the two of them ended up married. It's okay!' said Sirius, giving the guests an understanding look. 'I always thought he'd be marrying me too.' Lily laughed loudly, nodding her agreement. 'Now Lily.' Sirius started, 'don't think I'm letting you off the hook here. Personally I think you rather enjoyed giving poor James such a hard time. Now, I'm not saying he didn't deserve it Lils, but what did you have against Remus, Peter and I?' questioned Sirius, raising his brows at Lily. 'Only trying to help out our best mate and yet I remember having a few choice jinxes shot at me over the years.' He complained jokingly.
'You deserved every one Sirius Black.' Said Lily, as laughter erupted from the guests again.
'That may be true. But in all seriousness…' here he winked hugely to the amusement of everyone. 'James, my brother, you couldn't have picked a more perfect women and I couldn't be more thrilled for you both. You deserve eternal happiness and I look forward to being a part of your lives and watching your love for each other grow. Lily, Red. You look stunning today and I'm still confused about why you picked that scrawny git…I'm joking!' He yelled as James chucked a roll at his head. 'I love you both deerly, (James, Remus and Peter all shook their heads) congratulations!' he finished, raising his glass into the air and everyone followed suit, laughing and yelling congratulations.
The wedding and reception were beautiful and Sirius said so as he pulled a laughing Eileen onto the dance floor. The summer air was heavy and sweet and the dance floor was crowded with laughing, happy people, something that was so rare to find these days. The music flowed around them as he held Eileen close to him. 'You're so beautiful.' He said into her hair as he moved her around the floor, dancing past McGonagall and Dumbledore.
'I love you Sirius.' She replied, looking into his eyes.
He grinned and taking her hand tightly he spun her softly around, earning a laugh from her. 'Dance with me forever?' he asked.
'Of course.' She said, moving her hands up behind his neck.
'May I interrupt?' said someone behind Sirius and he turned to see Hector there.
Sirius stepped back slightly and passed Eileen to her brother only somewhat grudgingly. He was too happy to be bothered with Hector Grey tonight. 'Sure.' He said and kissed Eileen's cheek before heading towards where Lily and James were dancing.
'Mind if I steal your partner?" He asked. 'I just lost mine to her brother.' He said laughing.
James grinned and released Lily but Sirius seized James, grinning hugely and pulled him in to dance. Lily laughed and was quickly grabbed up by Remus who was shaking his head at his best friends. The pair of them quickly drew attention as Sirius dance-marched James around the dance floor, earning laughs from all the guests when James took over and forced Sirius into an awkward spin, where he had to duck under James' much shorter arm.
'I still can't believe you're having his child.' Said Hector grudgingly, as James and Sirius zipped by them.
'Give it a rest Hector.' She replied, refusing to have this argument with him again.
'I'm just saying -.'
'Well stop just saying Hector. It's not going to change anything, and besides can't you be happy for us? I'm happy Hector and it's been such a long time since I could truly say that.'
Hector shrugged, 'I apologise, it is good to see you happy sister. Do be careful won't you?' he asked, his expression softening.
'I will. Now go enjoy the wedding, your wife looks like she wants to dance with you.' They looked to see Anna who was watching them from across the floor. She waved happily and Hector kissed his sisters cheek before heading off towards his wife.
She turned to head off the floor but was surprised with Dumbledore caught her hand, asking her to dance.
'Professor.' She smiled.
'Eileen my dear, do call me Albus.' His eyes twinkled at her from behind his half-moon glasses.
She laughed, 'I will have to work on that.'
'Are you enjoying yourself tonight?' he asked as he whisked her gracefully across the floor with ease.
'Yes, it was a beautiful wedding.' she said, catching sight of Lily who was now sharing a dance with Fabian Prewett.
'Mrs. Potter makes a lovely bride.' Said Dumbledore, following her gaze. They stopped dancing as the song ended and Dumbledore kissed her hand. 'I must go give my congratulations to the happy couple before I depart. Do take good care of yourself my dear.'
She watched Dumbledore walk away and turned to see Sirius coming back towards her, beaming with delight and from dancing. 'Having a good time?' she asked, raising her hand to cup his sweaty, grinning face.
'The best time. How are my babies?' he asked, taking her belly in his hands and crouching down to press his lips against it.
'How much have you had to drink Sirius Black? And I seriously hope it is only one baby, for my sake more than yours.' She ran her hand through his shaggy black hair as he stood again and pressed his lips to hers.
She could taste the whiskey on his tongue and it made her smile against his lips. He had been saying for more than a month now that he was convinced that she was having twins, given the size of her round belly.
'Come with me.' He said, not giving her time to answer but pulling her outside of the tent and towards the side of the hill that sloped down towards the ocean. The stars in the night sky were as bright as she had ever seen them and the moon was high and bright. They were alone, the happy chatter and music flowing out of the tent and into the warm night air. The looked out over the water, which was rocking gently against the shore below. 'I'll never forget tonight,' said Sirius. 'I'll never forget how happy James is.'
'You truly love him don't you?' she said, taking his hand in hers.
'We may not share the same mother Eileen but James is as good as my brother. He's been there for me when no one else has, took me in to his family and made the last seven years of my life extraordinary. I love him more than I can tell you.'
She turned to him then and fitted her body against his, his arms automatically wrapping around her. 'He loves you just as much.'
'I know.' Replied Sirius pressing his nose into her hair.
'I love you more than I can tell you Sirius Black,' she said softly into his shoulder as his hand wandered down her back. 'I love your child inside me, I love the way you touch me,' she paused to kiss him. 'The way your lips taste when you've been drinking whiskey.' She smiled and kissed him again, trailing her tongue against his bottom lip. His hands slipped further down until one was resting on her backside. He pushed the hair at her neck away and trailed his lips down her neck and on to her exposed collar. She sighed heavily, burning from his touch. 'mhm,' she mumbled as his free hand found the swell of her breast and she closed her eyes. His lips found hers again and she could feel him smiling, planting kisses down the other side of her neck now.
'Open your eyes,' he said softly. When she opened her eyes Sirius was kneeling in front of her, his eyes sparkling, reflecting the night sky.
'Eileen, marry me please?' asked Sirius and as she looked at him she felt a tear slip down her cheek. Sirius clutched her hands in his, adoration and love showing plainly on his handsome face. She couldn't have asked for anything else, and in that moment she knew she had everything she had wanted, everything that four months ago had almost been taken from her.
'I'll love you forever Eileen, I'd trade the world to make you happy,' he pressed a hand to her stomach. 'You've already given me so much, please do me this honour and marry me?' He looked at her, waiting and hardly daring to breath.
'Yes, a thousand times yes Sirius.' She said and Sirius stood and picked her off her feet and kissed her. Happiness blossomed inside her and she felt the baby kick and thought perhaps they too could feel the joy surging through her. The man she loved was holding her, kissing her passionately and their child was healthy, growing inside of her. They were safe and for that night none of them thought of the war, none of them thought of Lord Voldemort or Death Eaters or of the danger that plagued their lives. They thought only of those they loved, of the futures they would have together and of the beauty and magic of the night, of their love and above all of the child that gave them hope for the days to come, of a future full of happiness.

'Lily let's face it, it doesn't fit.' Eileen groaned, on the verge of hysterical tears.
'We will make it work,' said Lily from behind Eileen, though the look on her face said otherwise. They had been trying to zip Eileen's dress up for the past twenty sweaty, trying, and increasingly hysteric minutes. The zipper had broken twice now and they were no nearer to getting the thing done up properly. Lily grabbed hold of it once more and with a heave she pulled the zipper all the way up but as soon as it got to the top it popped off again, shooting across the room. Eileen let out a giant sob as Lily raised her hands in frustration.
'I can't get ma- married like this!' Eileen sobbed, tears running down her face now as she clutched her baby bump.
It had become very obvious to the two women that Eileen's belly had grown significantly since she had last tried on her wedding dress and now it wouldn't zip up and they were already running late. Unaccustomed to seeing Eileen so upset Lily wasn't sure what to do. 'Shh – shh,' she coaxed, running to fetch the wayward zipper. 'I've got an idea, just say there.' She said desperately. She left the room and shut the door behind her, breathing heavily. Taking the stairs two at a time she burst out into the garden of her and James' house. James, Remus, Peter and Sirius were standing at the back of the garden while the few guests mulled around, chatting amongst themselves.
Sirius and Eileen had decided to have a small, private wedding, only inviting those closest to them. This was due mostly to how strained everything had become in the weeks following James and Lily's own wedding.
Lily forced a smile on her face as she walked towards the men, trying her best not to look worried. Sirius and James looked up as she walked towards them and identical looks of worry came over their faces. Sirius closed the last few steps between them, 'What's wrong? Is Eileen alright?'
'Well yes, she's technically fine,' said Lily. 'It's just I don't know what to do and then she started crying and…NO Sirius you can't go up there!' shouted Lily as Sirius made to move past her.
'Can we help?' Offered Remus as James grabbed the back of Sirius' robes.
'Yes please! You stay here!' she said to Sirius. 'Peter make sure he stays put.' Said Lily fiercely eyeing the worried Sirius.
'What's going on Lils?' said James as they followed quickly behind her into the house.
'It's her dress,' she said sadly, 'it won't fit. I think she may have gone mad, she started crying and I've never seen her like this.'
'Hormones.' Said Remus knowledgeably.
James raised his brow as Lily opened the door again, pushing her way back into the room. 'Eileen?' said James, coming in behind Lily.
She was sitting on the bed, hands on her belly and tears splashing down her front. 'Hey, don't cry!' said James soothingly, conjuring some tissues with his wand and handing them to Eileen.
'Can you do anything to fix it?' Lily whispered to Remus, handing him the troublesome zipper.
'Enlargement charm?' he suggested as James put his arm around Eileen, talking to her in a soothing voice.
'Yes!' Lily whispered back. 'I didn't think and for Merlin's sake don't tell her that's what you're doing!'
Remus smiled slightly and approached Eileen, kneeling down in front of her. 'Mind if I try?' he asked, holding the zipper up to her. James had managed to stop the flow of tears but her eyes were still puffy and wet. She nodded. Remus stood, kissed her forehead and James helped her stand. Lily came round to watch while James continued to wipe up tears.
'Reparo.' Remus replaced the broken zipper quickly and then without speaking cast an enlargement charm on the material at the back of Eileen's dress. It stretched slightly and Lily and Remus gave each other unsure looks. Pocketing his wand he pulled the material together and grasping the zipper, pulled it up without any problems.
Lily sighed in relief and locked the clasp together at the top. 'There we go!' said Remus happily, coming round to see how she was doing.
'You've fixed it?' she asked, her eyes dry but still rather red.
'Yep, just needed a firm hand that's all.' Said Remus and before he could move Eileen had flung herself around his neck, fat tears spilling out of her eyes again.
'I'm s-sorry!' she said, trying to wipe away her tears. 'I don't know why I'm crying like this.'
'It's fine.' Remus said, rubbing his neck gingerly.
'Let's get those eyes dry now, we can't have Padfoot seeing you like this on your wedding day.' Lily said, taking Eileen's hand and leading her back into a chair. 'James go back down, I'll be bringing the bride through now and Sirius needs a best man.' James gave Lily a smile and a quick kiss before disappearing back down the stairs.
Within a few minutes Lily had fixed Eileen's make-up and she was looking stunning and fresh faced in a flowing white chiffon gown with beaded accents over the shoulders and down the front. Her hair was pulled into an elegant bun with lose strands plucked here and there around her face.
'Let's not keep Sirius waiting any longer what do you think?' Lily said, handing Eileen a bundle of summer flowers to hold.
'Lily, thank you.' Eileen smiled, hugging Lily tightly. 'I don't do what I'd have done without you just now.'
'It was no trouble,' she replied, smiling at Remus over Eileen's shoulder.
'Shall we?' Remus held out his arm to Eileen and she took it happily.
With Lily in the lead the trio walked down the stairs and finally out into the garden. Butterflies fluttered around the bushes in the garden and the summer sun burned down on them, offset only by the breeze that picked the hair off the backs of their necks and cooled them down slightly. Lily walked down the aisle ahead of them, her emerald coloured dress breezing out behind her.
'Remus - ,' Eileen said as Remus made to head down to take his own spot.
'What is it?'
'Walk with me?' she asked hopefully.
Remus looked startled but extremely pleased. 'It would be an honour.'
She gave him a smile and together they walked down the aisle towards a beaming Sirius.
The ceremony was short and lovely and Sirius had kissed her passionately and their friends and family clapped as the same warlock who married James and Lily pronounced them Mr. and Mrs. Sirius Black. The guest list was small, twenty people in total but they wouldn't have asked for much more. The sun had come down during the end of the ceremony, much to the relief of everyone in attendance. The air was still heavy and warm but the night breeze was refreshing as the guests mingled in the garden, eating food that James' parents had prepared and provided. Sirius' fingers where entwined with Eileen's and he seemed determined not to let her go for the whole evening. He laughed when she pointed it out to him and let her hand go only to cup her face and kiss her again, grinning the whole time.
'You're so absolutely beautiful.' He said when they finally had a moment alone in the back of the garden. 'Mrs. Black, Merlin I will never get tired of hearing that.' He grinned boyishly at her.
'It does have a great sound doesn't it,' she replied, looking at the new band of silver around her finger and feeling happier than she ever had.
'The best sound,' he said, nuzzling his face into her neck and pressing his lips there against her warm skin. 'Can I take you home now?' he said eagerly, running a finger seductively across her lip.
'As much as I'd love that – mhm,' she cut off as his lips met hers. 'Mhm, rather rude to the guests I think.' She finished lamely, feeling desire grow in her belly.
Sirius growled lowly against her lip. 'Okay, but I won't wait much longer – Wife.' he said, looking her in the eye again and grinning madly.
'What're you two getting up to over here?' James interrupted. 'Padfoot you can't expect to have the bride to yourself all evening.' James was followed by Peter and Minerva McGonagall.
'Congratulations Miss Grey.' McGonagall said warmly, her usual strictness gone, replaced with a smile that suited her greatly. 'To you as well Mr. Black.'
'Thank you Professor, we're so glad you could come.' Eileen replied, and hugged McGonagall, surprising the older women.
'Please excuse me I haven't yet talked to my brother.' Said Eileen, giving Sirius a quick kiss and swaying off across the garden.
'I wish you both the best of luck in your marriages boys.' McGonagall said, looking suddenly like she was repressing some emotion.
'Don't worry Professor, we'll come visit lots!' Said James, throwing his arm around McGonagall's shoulder. Sirius followed suit.
'Yeah don't worry, you could even babysit!' Sirius added happily.
McGonagall squeezed out from under them. 'After spending seven years babysitting you four I think not Mr. Black.' She said, though Sirius could swear she was holding back a smile.
The evening was beautiful but they were also glad when it was finally over. Eileen and Sirius returned to the garden after having said goodbye to the Prewett brothers and Hagrid who had hung around long after everyone else, sharing drinks and laughter.
'Congratulations Padfoot.' James said, raising his glass with Remus and Peter.
'Prongs.' Sirius and James embraced each other. 'I think I'm going to take my wife home now.' Sirius said happily.
James laughed as Lily came over and joined him, wrapping her arm around his waist. 'Have fun you two.' He said, stressing the word fun.
'That's the plan.' Sirius barked, laughing as Eileen took a swipe at him and missed.
'Just be careful.' Remus said, taking Sirius by surprise and hugging him tightly. 'Congratulations Padfoot.'
'Thanks Moony, I'll be careful.' Sirius said as Remus released him. He held his friends eye for a moment longer, as something like sadness seemed to flicker in them. Sirius gave him a questioning look but Remus merely shook his head slightly and stepped back, smiling, to embrace Eileen.
Deciding to let it go he took Eileen's hand and the walked back into Lily and James' house.
'I'll bring by your gifts tomorrow,' James said, standing at the front door with them.'
'Thanks Prongs. Tell Lily we say goodnight.'
'I will. Be safe.' James stepped back into the house, closing the door behind him.
Sirius breathed deeply, taking Eileen's hand and silently they turned on the spot, re-appearing a moment later in front of their own house. 'Finally I have you to myself,' Sirius said, and in one swift movement he had picked Eileen off her feet.
She giggled and the sound was music to his ears. He pushed open the door with his foot and carried her in threw the living room, flicking his wand behind him to shut and lock the door. He deposited her carefully unto the bed and stepped back, turning to close the doors. He turned back to her, pulling open the collar of his dress robes with one hand.
'I love you.' He said, carefully stepping between her slightly parted legs. He knelt on the ground in front of her, bringing them eye-level with each other.
'I love you too.' She said, taking his head in her hands and running them threw his short black hair.
Sirius brought her lips down to meet his, deftly pulling the pins out of her hair and letting it fall in waves over her back. His fingers quickly unclasped the top of her dress and he pulled the zipper of it down. His lips found her throat, tracing kisses down, over her collar bone and on to her shoulder, slipping the beaded material down. Without saying a word Sirius rose to his feet, pulling Eileen with him until they were standing facing each other. They were both breathing heavily, eyes heavy with lust and want. Sirius's started on the buttons on his dress robes and without looking away from Eileen he quickly unbuttoned them, and shrugged out of them, leaving him standing shirtless. Eileen's hands found his chest, and without waiting her lips connected with the spot between his neck and shoulder and he let his breath out, pulling her gown off her shoulders and letting it fall, pooling on the floor at her feet. She stepped out of it towards him, forcing him backwards against the doors. Her hands were in his hair and they were kissing breathlessly and Sirius felt as if there was a human fireball in his arms and it made him grin against her lips.
'What?' she breathed, breaking the kiss.
Sirius chose not to answer, taking the moment to turn her away from him. He pushed the hair off her shoulder and bent, placing a kiss there as he unclasped her bra. He pushed the straps off her shoulders and dropped the garment on the floor with his robes. His hands moved to the swell of her breasts, revelling in the smoothness of her soft skin. She sighed softly, reaching behind her to entwine her fingers in Sirius's hair. He could feel his need for her growing, burning fiercely in the pit of his stomach. He discarded his remaining clothing and led her back towards their bed and climbed in, pulling Eileen on top of him. He was determined to kiss every inch of her skin before the night was over, determined to show her over and over just how much he loved the curve of her hip, the softness of her lips and the feeling of wholeness he felt when they laid together this way. He bent his head and planted a kiss on her belly and she inhaled sharply, her breath catching and heart hammering. 'You take my breath away Eileen.' He said huskily, as with a sigh of pleasure she lowered herself onto him and he could no longer speak.
She pressed herself against him, her belly separating them slightly but neither of them cared. They found each other's lips in the dark, kissing each other between ragged breaths. Even after months of being together Sirius found himself gazing at her in wonder, feeling her slight frame move with his and knowing as he had known then that she was a burning flame in his hands and she was something more magically than he could fathom in these moments. He had long lost himself in her and couldn't imagine himself without her now, they were one and his body was hers as much as hers was his. He could feel her belly pressed against his, one hand pressed against it, the other cupping her face, bringing her lips closer to his. 'Sirius.' She breathed, and he nodded feeling the flutter in her belly against his own and he kissed her harder. Knowing he would love this women and this child until the day he died and beyond it.
