First, don't get excited yet! I'm still on hiatus, and this is not an update! That being said, if you don't care about The Lycanthrope Trilogy becoming a book, you can just go about your business.

Since you guys know just about as much about this story as I do, I'm going to start adding book updates while I'm on hiatus and in after-chapter author notes when I start writing the fanfiction again. (By the way, to the Fullmetal Alchemist fans that ship Edward and Roy, I'm working on a fanfiction for them at the moment, so keep a watch out for it!) So I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the big changes I've made to the stories and characters. I draw my characters, too, so if you want to see those, you can go to dragoart . com and search for kyosgirl66. I'll be uploading more pictures as soon as I finish them! The characters I've finished so far are Frost Night (Kanda), Kyle Eden (Allen), Amethyst Nine (Klaud), Ever Phillips (Miranda), Dream Phillips (Ever's twin), Raine Marked (Marie), Blaise Hawkins (Lavi), Haven Key (Lenalee), Anubis Sun (alpha of the Fire Pack), and Blossom Dawn (alpha of the Air Pack). I haven't uploaded them yet, but most should be up in one to three days!

As you could probably deduct, there will be six packs, one for each element. The alphas are Frost Night (Shadow Pack), Anubis Sun (Fire Pack), Blossom Dawn (Air Pack), Iris Twilight (Earth Pack), River Moon (Water Pack), and Reflection Day (Light Pack).

In each territory, there's a habitat for that element's creature, like Lava Caverns, Clouded Mountain, and Lake WillowDrop, but I'm making new ones since there's six instead of three and Lake WillowDrop is neutral, the center of the territories where the packs meet every Saturday night. So I need help with those! Ideas are more than welcome!

As far as names go, I need lots! And I mean lots! When the new lycanthrope is introduced, the alpha gives them a new name, so the names are almost always nature/random word/mythology related, unless the lycanthrope requests a name, like Kyle and Shiloh do.

I have a few questions that I would like you to answer. Please, take the time to leave a review, as it will help me immensely! (Also, I'm going to write about Kyle's first Saturday meeting, where he meets and learns about all the alphas, plus a little extra since a certain Rebellious Lover wanted a bit more love in the last chapter.)

Who's your favorite alpha and why?

Of the characters in the fanfiction, who is your favorite? (I'm predicting half of these will be Secret.)

If you could have any superpower, what would it be (please, be specific and unique if possible)?

Any names?

Eye color and hair color combinations (something that stands out and they don't have to be natural, EX: pink eyes and blue hair)?

Any ideas for elemental creatures or habitats?

Any ideas for transformative names (EX: Infinity Shadow, Mystic Storm)?

Any ideas for spirit beast designs and/or names?

Any help is greatly appreciated, and if you think of anything later, don't hesitate to PM me!

And now, Kyle's first Saturday meeting (names for this event would be nice, too!):

My eyes widen at the number of lycanthropes in the clearing, laughing and having fun. I spot Oka talking to a female…wolf, I believe, while Haze and a lin-lin I didn't recognize spoke to Haven. Frost glances at me. "Surprised?"

"I didn't know there were this many lycanthropes. It's amazing!" I say. Frost shrugs. "We've had twenty-one years."

"Wouldn't that make you five?"

"I already had the body and mind of a teenager at that point." Before I could ask anything more, a man that looked Frost's age ran up behind him and pounced on his back. He had bright aqua eyes and red hair as long as Frost's held in a loose ponytail with black ears, the left one pierced.

"Hey, Bro! Is this the new guy?" the mysterious man asks, laughing as Frost let him cling. The bluenette rolled his eyes. "Kyle Eden. I'll tell you and the others about his element later since it's a bit…odd."

The man pauses and stares at me. "He smells like…chocolate."

"I'm aware. Now get off me."

"But you're comfy!"

Frost sighs, but doesn't push. "This is Anubis Sun, alpha of the Fire Pack and a pain in the butt."

Anubis grins. "Yo! I'm also Frost's best friend, if you couldn't tell by the love radiating from him!"

"Correction, you're under the impression that I'm your best friend."

"So mean, Frost!"

"Anubis! Get off of Frost right now!"

I turn to see a woman with creepy eyes. Both orbs were green and blue, but there were no pupils, just irises. Anubis jumps off Frost and darts elsewhere. "See you later, Frost, newbie!"

"Thanks for that," Frost muttered as the woman stopped beside him. She nodded. "That idiot. Good thing he's scared of me."

Frost says, "This is Iris Twilight, alpha of the Earth Pack."

I focus on her nose. "My name is Kyle Eden. Nice to meet you."

"Is avoiding my gaze respectful?" Iris asked. "I don't stare or avoid looking at your neck."

Geez, you're worse than Frost and Amethyst. Try not to let being an alpha go to your head, chick. I smile and move my eyes to hers. "I'm sorry. That was very rude of me."

She didn't reply, but instead turned to Frost. "Have you seen Blossom?"

He shakes his head. "No. She's probably just running a little late."

"Are you―?"

"Sorry, I'm late!"

Iris grunted as a woman with long, blue, purple, and pink hair jumped onto her back. "Blossom, get off of me!"

"It's safe again!" Anubis exclaimed as he appeared out of nowhere and copied Blossom's movements. Frost rolled his eyes, but reluctantly grabbed Anubis's thighs to keep him from falling off his back. "Rather unfortunate." He motioned to Blossom. "This is Blossom Dawn, alpha of the Air Pack and my sister."

I glance between them. Frost had dark blue hair, orange eyes, tall build, and somewhat dark personality where you never knew what he was thinking. Then there was Blossom. Bright, multicolored hair, silver eyes, small build, and from what I could gather, a playful, flamboyant personality. "She's your sister?"

"Fraternal twin, actually," Blossom said, still clinging to a very unhappy Iris. "I'm older by twelve minutes."

"And I'm taller by eight inches," Frost muttered. I frown. "How did your human parents manage to have fraternal twins that ended up both being lycanthropes?"

"It's a blood lineage thing," Anubis said. Iris nodded. "All the alphas are related, we just don't know in what way other than Frost and Blossom. We were all born the same year, so we've always assumed magic played a part in the generation."

"How do you know you're related?" I ask.

"I did some blood tests," Frost said. Before I even open my mouth, he adds, "And yes, I know how to do that."

"Is there room for one more?" a man asked with a grin as he and another male appeared beside me, nearly making me jump.

"No!" Frost and Iris growled in unison. The taller man with long, platinum blonde hair shook his head. "Try to keep the peace, River."

"You're no fun!" River pouted. "All you ever do is say 'keep the peace' and 'behave yourselves'."

Frost said, "If Reflection didn't do that, you would be swimming with the mermaids by now."

"Agreed," Iris said.

"For the record, I'd drag you out," Blossom said. River shook his head. "I'd pull them in with me!"

When I feel a hand on the small of my back, I nearly jump again. Reflection opened his eyes. "Michael Eden. Interesting character."

"Kyle," I correct. "How'd you know my name?"

"Every born lycanthrope has an ability they can use other than when they transform. Reflection can read a person's memories and thoughts through touch," Frost explained. "By the way, if you hadn't figured it out, that's River Moon, alpha of the Water Pack, and Reflection Day, alpha of the Light Pack."

I feel violated. You can't just read a person's memories without permission! I realize a moment too late that Reflection's hand is still on my back. He pulls away with an apologetic smile. "Sorry. It's a habit."

"It's fine." Habit or not, keep your nose out of my business!

Anubis grinned and grabbed Frost ears, wiggling them. The victim barked. Literally. "Anubis, I swear, you're about to take a bath in Lake WillowDrop!"

"You wouldn't do that when you know I can't swim!"

"Fine, I'll just drop you from fifty feet. Better?"

"You have to catch me first!"

With that, Anubis hopped off Frost back and darted away, his pursuer on his heels. Blossom ran after them. "Frost, don't kill him!"

Iris rolled her pupil-void eyes and followed. "Blossom, if you get between them, you're the one who'll get killed!"

"I want to try that!" River exclaimed as he dashed off with Reflection. I stand there in utter confusion. Raine appeared beside me. "Were the alphas what you thought they'd be?"

"Not really." I glanced him. "So do they hate each other or is that some really funky love?"

"Funky love doesn't even begin on their relationship," Raine says.

"And is there a reason why they all have long hair? I can't imagine four men all having hair down to their waists."

"Born lycanthrope thing as far as I know. Frost said that if he cuts his hair, it grows back in three hours."

I watch as Anubis and Frost wrestle in the grass, though few other lycanthropes seemed to be paying attention. When they break apart, the two alphas burst out laughing. My eyes widen.

"Anubis is the only one who can make Frost laugh like that. Believe me, Blaise and Dream have tried," Raine says.

"So when Anubis said that they were best friends, he wasn't just trying to get on Frost's nerves?"

He nods. "I guess I pride myself in being the person Frost is closest to within the pack, but no one beats Anubis in that department."

"Anubis seems like a great guy," I say.

Raine's blue eyes stare into oblivion. "He is, but there's a reason he was named 'Anubis'."

"What do you―?"

But Raine had already walked away.

Oo_oO_Oo_oO

"Frost?" I ask from my mossy mattress in the corner. His neon orange eyes move from his thick, leather book to me. "What is it?"

"You said that born lycanthropes have extra abilities. What about you and the other alphas besides Reflection?"

He closes his book. "First, you need to understand which elements are offensive and which are defensive. Shadow, Fire, and Earth are offensive in nature while Light, Water, and Air are defensive. That will only happen for sure in born lycanthropes. Reflection reads people, Blossom can turn her body into elastic, and River can duplicate himself up to a dozen times. Those abilities are all used to defend the user. Understand?"

I nod.

"Iris can control plants, Anubis can inflict pain through touch, and I can use psychokinesis on people and animals. Those are used offensively."

"Anubis's ability I get, but what about you and Iris? How can you consider that offensive rather than defensive or vice versa?"

"How well are ivy vines going to protect you over slinging around an opponent?"

"You have a point, but―"

"And as for me," Frost said as he sat up, "I'll let you decide."

I gasp as I find myself hovering over my bed. I kick and squirm. "Put me down!"

He ignores me. I float to the center of the room, two feet off the ground. He continues, "Sure, I could hold back an opponent easily, but why waste such an ability?" My hands move to my throat, despite how much I struggled against it. "Imagine that kind of death. Strangle yourself? Or I could just break your spine or neck. It'd be quicker. Eat your own fingers? Have your limbs pulled off by an invisible force?" I'm moved onto my stomach, my hands behind my back and legs bent and spread. "Be raped by a comrade?"

"I get your point! Let me go!" I demand.

As my body is rested on the stone floor, Frost says, "The alphas consider the offensive abilities taboo. We never use it, not even battle unless someone's on the brink of death. When the vampires attacked five years ago, the six of us agreed that it was okay if it meant winning the war." He shook his head. "I barely remember any of it. We had never invoked our third energy levels and released the barriers on our born abilities at the same time. Beforehand, I told myself that if I killed using psychokinesis, I would snap their necks, quick and as painless as possible. According to Blossom, when Anubis, Iris, and I released our barriers, our eyes turned red. No one told me exactly what we did, but there was blood, limbs, and guts everywhere when I came back to my senses."

"Is that what Raine meant when he said that Anubis was named the way he was for a reason?" I ask.

Frost lied back and stared up at the ceiling. "Do you know who Anubis is in mythology?"

"It's Egyptian, but that's all I know."

"Anubis is the Egyptian god of the dead, though he's depicted as a god that helps guide souls into the afterlife and guard graves." Frost pauses. "When alphas give new lycanthropes their name, it doesn't always have to do with the element they're expected to get. Everyone gives off a type of aura, and animals can read that sometimes. The alphas named each other in a sort of circle, where I named Anubis and Blossom named me. I see a sort of darkness in Anubis, like there's another person living inside him."

"So does Raine have a grudge against Anubis or something? Why not you and Iris, too?"

"Because there's no way for Anubis to use his ability for good. I can protect without harming, as can Iris, but all Anubis can do is cause pain."

"That's stupid."

Frost glances at me. "Why do you say that?"

"Even if Anubis has some sort of darkness inside him, I don't understand what the big deal is. Everyone has a dark side, and from what you just told me, Anubis couldn't help what happened anymore than you or Iris. Did he seem to enjoy the bloodshed?"

"No."

"Then Raine's being an idiot, and you can tell him I said that." I lean back against the lush foliage considered a wall. "I don't believe in fate and destiny and that stuff and I don't understand the whole reading people thing, but Anubis isn't a horrible person. I know that because you wouldn't be so close to him if he were."

Frost gazed at me, his eyes far too intrigued for my comfort. I mutter, "Why are you staring at me?"

"Because the more I listen to you, the more Liar's Masquerade seems like a fitting title for your transformation."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

His feline tail swishes with interest behind him as he stands from his bed and walks to mine. He kneels beside me, backing me into the corner. "It means that as a scientist, I want to pick you apart and put everything under a microscope. It's annoying that I never know what you're thinking or what your motivation is." He leans closer, to which I press myself into the vines and leaves. "I want to know what makes you tick and what makes you smile without the two-sided part."

"I'm not a specimen."

"Which makes studying you so much harder."

"Then don't study me. Study whatever you keep in your lab."

The way his ears perked at my words and his tail curled amused me. Born lycanthropes really were more animal than human.

"As an alpha, it's my job to be able to understand my lintas. Why do you make that harder?" Frost asked, his bright eyes focused on mine.

"Maybe that's you." I smirk. "Or are you not up to a challenge?"

"That depends. I'd be much more interested in a challenge if I knew which way you swing."

Did he really just ask if I'm gay or straight? I say, "I prefer my own team."

"Then challenge accepted."

I'm not even writing the fanfiction and I'm still killing you with cliffhangers! I'm so cruel!

So please review! I'd love to hear from you guys!
