Chapter 19: The Demons of Dark Eden

For the remainder of the holidays, Travas and the entire Vampire Resistance continue to celebrate the joys of their vampuric lives. Travas' family had continued to celebrate the holidays as his relatives had gathered within the Starfox family home. Though the holidays may have been pleasant for them, some of his family had felt a sense of isolation amongst themselves, for it was their first Christmas without their beloved Travas with them. But the person inflicted by the isolation the most was Scarlet herself, though she had found some comfort from her family at this time.

After the holidays have passed, business had continued on as usual for both the Vampire Resistance in Nosgoth and Travas' family back on Alopex. For the Resistance, they continued to train amongst themselves by means of protecting the land of Nosgoth from both demons and that of fiendish vampires wreaking havoc amongst Nosgoth's people. In a similar notion, Travas had continued to find ways to control the raw energy that he had valiantly used in his past battles against Adrian and Alastair alike. Though the vulpin has obtained better control over the raw energy, it still wasn't enough for him to neither fully control its capabilities, nor from its ravenous appetite on him when it became over aroused.

As for the family on Alopex, they have continued to go on with their daily lives as life without their beloved son almost began to become normal for them. Though the family may have mourned for him every now and then, they have started to cope with the sudden 'death' of their son, who had been murdered on Scarlet's fourth birthday back in March of 992. In a similar notion to this, Scarlet had found a rather particular way to cope with her brother's 'death', upon which she had started to build an outward persona amongst her peers at school. In some particular cases, she had been getting into some occasional trouble as a response to the persona she had created. Despite the trouble, however, she continues to retain her newly built behavior.

Four years have passed since Travas himself had arrived amongst the land of Nosgoth with Nosgoth's ancient vampire, Janos Audron. With the time passing by like sand going through the hourglass, the vulpin himself has become a stronger person than he had ever been before, for he had been training amongst the highest ranking vampires in Nosgoth. His appearance, too, had changed, for his fur matching colored hair was now long enough to touch his shoulders, with his bangs leaning towards the right side of his face. His body has also become somewhat more muscular than it was at the time of his arrival in Nosgoth.

While the land of Nosgoth seemed to become safer than it had been for a long period of time, there has been a sudden increase in disappearances amongst some of Nosgoth's people. As a response to this happening, some of the members of the Resistance started to investigate the matter. Some of the others, however, were planning on how their actions are to be carried out concerning the issue upon a summer night.

"Sire, I am telling you that it is urgent that we plot our plans regarding the mysterious disappearances at once, for they have been happening throughout Nosgoth over the past several months", Doyle spoke urgently as Janos continued to rubs his chin in thought.

"I am well aware of what is going on… but we must continue to look into this and find answers before we can plot our actions. All I can urge you to do is gather a small group of vampires among the Citadel and begin your search for answers", Janos replied as Doyle nods in response, though does so with a slightly annoyed gesture.

"Very well, Sire. I will gather Aramantha and Celestia to help me upon my quest. However it may take a while to acquire such information", Doyle claimed while he begins to walk towards the Balcony, upon which his companions reside. "We will begin our search within Coorhagen and work our way south and southeast from there", he continued as he enters the Balcony to acquire his companions. Soon, he, Celestia, and Aramantha head towards the rebuilt town of Coorhagen, thus Janos turns towards the stairs leading to the Lower Chambers and begins walking in that direction.

"Apparently, I have not anticipated any of us to begin our investigations upon the incidents any further than originally planned… but it looks that I may have to acquire a few other Vampires within the Citadel myself", Janos thought to himself as he heads downstairs and begins to acquire other members of the Resistance. From there, he will begin his discussion of the plans concerning the mysterious disappearances happening throughout the northernmost part of Nosgoth.

*Inside the Training Room*

Within the interior of the Training Room, a vampuric couple has been shown to be sparring with one another by means of getting stronger. The male is identified as Travas, who is shown to be only wearing a pair of black Gi pants with a black belt attached to them. The female is identified as Umah, who is shown to be wearing a small skintight black tank top, a black skintight pair of short spandex workout shorts. She also wore a pair of black stockings with her leather combat boots and her right black arm glove. However, the female vampire chose to keep her hair unbound and move freely about during the session.

As the couple continues to training, their bodies started to be covered in sweat from the intensity of the training and from how much effort they were giving off. Shortly, Travas heads for the towel rack located by the entrance and grabs a towel for him and his girlfriend before starting to wipe the sweat off of his body. Then, Umah begins to dry the sweat off of her own body while approaching towards her boyfriend with a soft smirk on her face.

"You have done well, my beloved Travas. Your strength has increased at a level I had not anticipated myself", Umah claimed before she starts to hold onto her boyfriend closely, allowing him to hold her in return.

"You should save that one for yourself. You have done a hell of a lot better than I had anticipated myself. In fact, your strength is well beyond extraordinary as we have continued training", Travas replied, causing Umah to kiss his cheek in response.

"Thanks…" Umah spoke softly while the couple continues to hold each other close. Then Travas suddenly begins to smell something foul coming from their bodies.

"Speaking of Training, are you up for a shower together", Travas spoke as Umah's expression turned into a calm, serious one.

"Though I appreciate your kind offer, you have to be aware that I cannot nourish in water, for the water will burn a vampires skin like acid", Umah answered calmly as Travas' ears perk down, causing her to stroke his cheek in a manner to cheer him up slightly. "I would honestly love to, but unless I have the means to nourish in water without my skin burning like fire, I cannot nourish my skin whatsoever except by means of vampuric elixir", she explained until Travas' ears suddenly perk up once again, for an idea has come about within his mind that causes him to grin at her.

"Umah, I think it may already be possible for that to happen", Travas claimed as Umah looks at him with a curious, confused look. Suddenly, Travas picks her up bridal style as he heads for the showers, causing Umah to blush madly while holding onto him closely.

Shortly after, they enter the showers as Travas sets Umah down next to him. Then he begins to strip down until he was in the nude and enters the shower. Upon entry, the vulpin turns on the shower as he places his right hand-paw towards her.

"Umah, do you remember when you drank my blood almost four years ago while we were staying at the hotel in Stahlberg", Travas asked as Umah nodded in response. "Theoretically it may be possible for you to nourish in water since sunlight no longer bothered your skin. Would you be willing to give it a chance", he asked as Umah slightly backs away while covering her mouth, frightened that it may not prove to be true.

"I… I don't know if I should, Travas", Umah spoke softly and in a frightened tone as Travas smiles upon her, showing her that it was going to be alright.

"Trust me, Umah; your skin won't burn… I promise", Travas spoke in an assuring manner as he continued to hold out his right hand-paw to her. Within a brief moment of hesitation, Umah nods in agreement and begins to strip down into the nude, placing her clothes next to his.

As soon Umah was in the nude, she slowly begins to reach her right hand out for his while turning her head to her left side, closing her eyes and not wanting to see what would happen. From the instant that her hand touches the water, all fears Umah had felt began to subside as she looked upon her hand touching Travas' hand-paw, seeing that her skin had not been harmed by the water's acidic touch.

"Well it seems that my theory has been proven true after all", Travas spoke as he gently pulls Umah closer to him, thus allowing Umah to hold onto him lovingly. "And to tell you the truth, I've always wanted to have a shower with my woman", he continued before kissing Umah's forehead gently.

"And it seems that your wish shall be granted after all… and thank you for believing in me, Travas", Umah spoke as she begins to kiss her boyfriend passionately. They had continued to kiss one another for over the next minute or so until a knock on the door was heard, causing the two to separate as the vulpin looks towards the door.

"Who is it", Travas asked curiously.

"It is me, Janos, and the moment you and Umah are dressed, I ask of you to meet me within the Main Chambers at once", Janos spoke from behind the door as he leaves, thus allowing Umah and Travas to finish their shower in peace.

After a bit of time passes, Travas turns off the water as he and Umah place a towel over the proper regions of their bodies. Over the next few passing minutes, the vampuric couple continues to walk towards their room until they arrive, thus entering to get a new set of clothing to wear.

For Travas, he begins to put on a pair of black skintight leather pants, a gray slim fitting sleeveless shirt, his black leather motorcycle gloves, and his metallic boots that Umah had gotten him nearly four years ago. As for Umah, she starts to put on a pair of black skintight leather pants, a small skinny fitting dark purple tank top, with a bit a cleavage showing, her long black arm glove, and her combat boots.

After they finish getting dressed, the couple began to make their way towards the Main Chambers on the upper floors. Once they arrive, they see both Janos and Vorador waiting amongst the table in which their plans have been plotted. They take a seat and wait for further instruction on the plans Vorador and Janos needed to speak about.

"You've called for us", Travas asked as Janos looks upon him and nods.

"It has come to us that these strange disappearances that have been believed to be happening for the past several months has now become a problem amongst the land of Nosgoth", Janos started. "It is time that we begin to devise our plans for what else may come concerning these mysteries", he explained as Vorador gets up from his seat.

"And with these plans, we shall begin our exploration in which the source may lead towards to. However, we cannot commit such a journey until we receive information from the team we had recently sent out towards Coorhagen, which may have been believed to be where some of the disappearances have been occurring at", Vorador explained while Travas and Umah look at each other briefly before looking back at him once more.

"Though we have been aware of this going on, we are unsure upon the origins of which these mysteries have originated from. We do, however, believe that many of the victims were taken somewhere in the northern part of Nosgoth…but we are not sure exactly where it is", Umah explained as the team suddenly arrive into the Main Chambers through the Balcony of the Citadel, thus causing the others to suddenly turn and face them.

"Vorador, it is urgent that we speak with you at once! We've acquired some information regarding the disappearances", Celestia said urgently as Vorador looks upon them calmly, though slightly eager to know what they've acquired.

"Of course… you may speak", Vorador said calmly while the others looked upon them.

"From the information that we have acquired from the residents of Coorhagen and that we have known ourselves, it is believed that these disappearances have been occurring within the Northern parts of Nosgoth, although there were rumors of them happening elsewhere. However, we were also told that these disappearances have been occurring upon a certain time of each month for the past several months. From what many have said, it is believed that many of these strange disappearances have occurred on the nights when the moon was entirely full. Concerning the issue about the full moon, we are unsure about at the moment", Aramantha explained as the others looked upon her curiously. However, Vorador begins to have his suspicions about her explanation, especially the part in which she spoke of the full moon.

"Hold your tongue, Aramantha", Vorador ordered calmly, giving him a few seconds to think over what he had heard. "Did you say that many of these disappearances have been happening on the nights when the moon was at its fullest?" he asked curiously.

"From what were have been told, yes", Aramantha answered as Vorador nods in response.

"I see…" Vorador started. "Were you able to find any information regarding where the victims were taken to", Vorador asked once again.

"From what the residents of Coorhagen have spoken about, Sire, it is believed that the victims had been taken just barely towards the east, perhaps slightly to the north-eastern direction", Aramantha replied, causing the veteran vampire to nod in understanding. Thus, he walks towards the table and begins to rub his chin, thinking over everything the female vampire had said.

"Strange… most of the disappearances have been happening during the night of a full moon. Another valid reason is that they have been taken towards the slightest north-eastern direction from Coorhagen. Could it be that they're talking about a land from mere centuries in Nosgoth's past", Vorador thought as Travas steps forth and grabs his attention.

"I apologize for interrupting your thought, but are you by chance referring to the place called Dark Eden, the demonic dimension created by DeJoule the Energist", Travas asked calmly, though slightly serious as everyone else looks towards him in response, knowing well about the place the vulpin asked Vorador.

"Apparently, it seems that my suspicions lead towards that location. But how is it that you have known about Dark Eden after all of this time. Was this from one of your visions you've had", Vorador asked as Travas nods, causing the others to look at him with curious eyes.

"Yes, and most of them had been about Kain's former journey four centuries ago when he had to hunt down the guardians of the pillars. I had also had brief visions about this, though I haven't been able to see anything else from the current issue we now face", Travas explained as Janos and Vorador began to think about their next plan regarding the disappearances. Soon enough, their thoughts are placed together as they looked upon their fellow members of the Vampire Resistance.

"Fellow members of the Cabal, it has come to the point that some of us begin our journey towards Dark Eden and find any further information regarding what the victim's captors have been plotting to do to them. Vorador, Travas, and Umah will accompany me there while the rest of you will remain here and keep watch of the lookout", Janos spoke while the others nod in agreement and head for their positions. Almost immediately after the order is given out, Travas, Umah, Vorador, and Janos started walking towards the Balcony and prepare to fly. But as Umah grabs onto Travas, she notices a young human woman carrying her anthromorphic fox child shouting within the distance.

"Hold it, I can hear the cries of a young woman coming from the eastern section of the Lake's coast line", Umah spoke as she points towards the direction of the woman's cries, thus causing them to fly towards the woman and her child and investigate the problem. Soon, they land in front of her as Umah and Travas recognized the woman and her three year-old vulpin child she carried in her arms.

"Alexia, what's wrong, and why is your son, Dylan, with you at this time of night", Umah asked as Alexis looked upon her with a worried, frightened look in her eyes.

"Umah… my husband had was kidnapped by a group of demons about twenty minutes ago during a battle and I need your help at once", Alexia explained in a frightened manner as her son holds onto her tightly and Travas' eyes widened in shock.

"Johnny has been kidnapped?! Where did they take him", Travas asked urgently as Dylan began sobbing in response and Alexia began to comfort her child as best as she could.

"I don't know other than somewhere in the northernmost direction of Nosgoth", Alexia answered as she continued to comfort her sobbing child in her arms.

"It may have been possible that the demons could have taken him to Dark Eden and may be using him to pursue their ambitions of mastering the black arts. It is time that we all make haste towards there at once. Alexia, it is best that you and your child remain within the Citadel until we make it back", Vorador ordered as Alexia nods in understanding while continuing to comfort her child. "I will 'Whisper' to the others about your fore coming arrival as we head towards Dark Eden and save your husband from his doom", he continued while smiling softly upon him in a thankful manner.

"Thank you…" Alexia spoke softly while drying her tears with her free hand as Travas looked upon Dylan, who had been crying since his father's sudden kidnapping. In a similar manner, Vorador began to 'whisper' the other vampires inside to tell them about Alexia and her child staying within the Citadel until further notice.

"Don't worry, Dylan… everything is going to be okay. We're going to save your dad and ensure that nothing bad happens to him while we bring him back to you and your Mother safe and sound. I promise", Travas spoke as he rubbed his head gently, thus provided him a small amount of comfort within him.

"Please, bring my Daddy back alive… please", Dylan pleaded as he soon began crying upon his Mother's shoulders once more. Soon, Travas and the others turn to the direction of Dark Eden and head for the demonic city itself as Alexia, with her son in her arms, headed through the underground entrance and into the Citadel itself.

As they continued to fly towards the dark city, the full moon begins to appear as a strange, red-colored energy begins to appear within the distance ahead. As the vampires grew closer, they begin to notice that the entrance was starting to open before them. Upon the moment it opens, they enter upon Dark Eden, which the skies were red like fire and the land within was nothing more than a mountain terrain with rivers of molten lava coursing about. The team begins to explore the land in search for clues regarding the whereabouts of all of the abducted victims, including Travas' childhood friend, Johnny.

Within less than fifteen minutes of investigating the city, they start to hear distant cries within the north-western part of Dark Eden. They instantly turn towards that direction to see a mysterious Colosseum, upon which was the origin where the screams of agony were coming from. In that instant, they began to make their way towards the Colosseum, thus the cries of agony grew louder as they got closer. But about halfway towards the Colosseum, some strange bolts of lightning suddenly strike the ground near their position. With this, a pair of dark brown, electric like demons have appeared before them as Travas suddenly recognized what kind of demons they were.

"Damnit… I remember seeing these demons in a vision I've had nearly four years. These were one of the types of demons that Redford's team will end up facing in the future… including Scarlet and Erica", Travas thought while looking towards the demons with furious eyes. "Then again… it is time that I saw how powerful these things really are", he continued thinking as he got into his battle stance and the demons looked upon him with evil grins upon their faces.

"So the legends speak true, for here we see the legendary Travas Starfox standing before us…" one of the demons started. "And here he is preparing to engage in battle", the same demon continued as it and the second prepared for battle.

"Travas, you must beware of their magic… I can sense that these demons are stronger than the ones we have encountered in the past", Vorador advised as Travas gives a thumbs up in response. "However, I can also sense that something is not right about this one bit", he thought as he looks towards the demons suspiciously and remains alert for any other possible threats that might come.

"Well then… let the battle commence at once", the second demon declared as it begins to make the first strike against Travas. However, the vulpin himself proved to be faster than the demons had expected by effortlessly dodging their attacks continuously. Strangely, though, the demons begin to grin upon this in delight as they instantly disappear from their positions. Though they reappear behind Travas and begin to strike towards him, he starts blocking their attacks without putting in hardly any effort whatsoever. Soon enough, the demons' once satisfactory expression turn into a more angered one as they could not lay a single attack on him.

While the fight continues to progress on, a set of four green colored demons with blade-like arms suddenly arrive upon the scene of the battle. As an immediate response, Umah, Janos and Vorador turn to face the newly arrived demons as they get into their battle stances and begin to fight.

During the battle, the demon continues to strike against Umah with its blade-like arms while she continues to dodge or catch them effortlessly with her hands or block them with her forearms. For Vorador, on the other hand, he began striking towards his opponent while it continues to block his attacks with little effort. As for Janos, he suddenly pierces his arm right through one of his opponent's chest while continuing to block the other demon's ferocious attacks. Likewise, Travas rips one of the electric demon's arms right off and impales it right through its chest while dodging the other's electrical attacks with ease.

As the vulpin starts fighting the other electrical demon, Umah, Vorador, and Janos manage to kill three of the four green bladed demons, thus turning their attention on the last two demons remaining. Within that moment, the two surviving demons instantly begin to sprint towards Travas and Umah, who had gotten into their battle positions and waited eagerly for them both. But before the demons could strike either one, Travas and Umah swiftly dodge their oncoming attacks as they began striking upon them fiercely.

While the ongoing battle continues, Vorador looks toward the direction of the Colosseum, noticing a pair of red colored demons approaching from the distance. As he and Janos prepared to fight, Travas rips one of the bladed demon's arms and uses it to impale it right through the stomach. In a similar notion, Umah unsheathes her claws and uses them to slit the electrical demon's throat, thus knocking the demon almost immediately as its blood splatters out like a person placing their thumb at the hose shooting water at full blast. Soon, the electrical demon's body lies upon Dark Eden's land as a lifeless corpse while the vulpin pulls the bladed demon's arm out of his chest. Thus he uses the bladed arm to behead the demon, making it collapse upon the land as a newly dead corpse as he and Umah turn to face the others.

"Alright, it looks like we're clear at the moment. Shall we proceed", Travas asked as Vorador and Janos turn to face him.

"Very well, but we must tread carefully since I notice something approaching within the distance", Vorador answered as the vampires continue on towards the Colosseum.

As they got closer, Travas and Umah begin to notice the figures Janos and Vorador and spotted moments before. But when they arrive just within about twenty meters of the entrance, the vampires' pathway was suddenly blocked off by a pair of red colored demons with horns on their heads and shoulders. As a response, they prepare to fight as Travas looks upon them suspiciously, for these demons seemed to be new to him.

"That's odd… I've seen the other demons before in the vision where Redford's team fight the ones we've just encountered", Travas thought. "However, I've never seen these ones in particular… but I wonder what these demons could do in terms of their fighting skills", the vulpin continued thinking as he and the others get into their battle positions. But as they did, the demons start breathing fire as an attempt to intimidate them.

"So, are you vampires here to attend our blood thirsty celebration… or to stop us from performing our bloody ritual?" one of the fiery demons asked while eying them suspiciously. But then gives them a serious look and clenches its fists. "Well it seems that you're all here to stop us from having our blood thirsty pleasures… and we do not intend to stand down that easily", the fiery demon claimed while preparing to fight against the group of vampires.

In that moment, the demon attempts to attack them with its fire breathing capabilities. However, the demon misses them since the team instantly, yet effortlessly dodged the attack. Suddenly, a local, yet strong, army of bladed, electrical, and fiery demons arrive onto the scene and immediately prepare to fight like militiamen on the frontlines.

The first set of demons to attack was the bladed ones, upon which they prepare their bladed arms and try to strike them with all of their might. Some of the bladed demons began to spit some sort of purple demonic vomit-like aura upon them as the vampires continued to dodge them effortlessly. However their efforts proved to be useless as the vampires continued to dodge their attacks and slay every single one that tried to strike upon them. Soon after, the bladed demons are slain entirely as the electrical ones prepared to attack.

With the second wave of demons ready to kill, they began to strike upon the vampires as they had either continued to dodge or catch their attacks effortlessly. During the fight, Travas began to unsheathe his claws and uses them to rip open their throats, causing blood to splatter about the area. The vulpin begins drinking a bit of the blood to revitalize some of his strength, thus smirking in delight upon the bloodied scene he had made. Soon, some of the other vampires began to drink a bit of the blood from the demons they kill in the process in order to revitalize their strength as well. After a bit of time passes by, the slain bodies of the electrical demons lie within meters of the Colosseum entrance.

Within a matter of seconds, the wave of fiery demons prepares to fight as Travas and Umah began to sprint towards them. But before they could attack, a few, larger sized fiery demons appear before them, stopping them dead on their tracks. But unlike the others, their horns tended to be slightly spikier in contrast to the darker toned flesh on their bodies. Within a second after the darker toned fiery demons arrived, they breathe fire upon them as Umah and Travas barely manage to dodge their burning attacks. Travas then prepares to attack against the darker toned demons, but before he could do so, Janos places a hand on his right shoulder as Travas looked upon him curiously.

"Travas, you do not have much time to fight these demons. You must enter the Colosseum at once and save however many survivors you can", Janos explained as he turns to Umah briefly before back at him while Vorador continues to fend off the approaching demons. "Umah will accompany you on your task. But you must make haste because I'm unsure how long we can continue to fend off Dark Eden's increasing armies", he continued while he got into his fighting stance. "Now go and perform your task at once", he shouted as he flew towards the army of fiery demons, both red and dark toned alike. Within that moment, Travas and Umah flew towards the gates and phased through them by briefly using mist form.

Upon entry, they could hear the agonizing cries of many of Dark Eden's prisoners, both human and anthro alike. They begin to examine some of the prison cells inside the Colosseum, noticing some of the victims inside with their flesh stripped from their bodies. As for the other cells, they see many of the victims that were either severely injured or dying, thus crying out for them to obtain help from the vampires. They could also see some young children inside, both anthro and human alike, crying within their prisons as their parents and adult peers tried to comfort them as best they could. Then Travas and Umah noticed a human mother and child inside one of the cells and approached them calmly, just as the mother was hushing her child in a comforting manner.

"It's going to be alright, young ones… we will find a way to escape from this wretched place", the Mother spoke quietly as she turns to face the two vampires and backs away from them with her child in her arms. "My god… oh please dear god no", she continued as her child grips onto his mother tightly in fear. However, Travas approaches the cell with a comforting, but calm gesture as a way to calm the family down.

"Hey, hold on… we're not gonna hurt either of you or any of the other prisoners here", Travas assured as the mother looks upon him, slightly beginning to calm down a bit upon recognition.

"My word… I recognize who you are now. You're the one they call Travas, aren't you", the Mother asked as Travas nodded in response.

"That I am, ma'am, and do you know where your captors might've kept the keys to the cells, and do you know of a gray fox named Johnny by chance", Travas asked as the mother points to her left, but towards his right.

"The keys you seek are located within the Main room down the hall towards the left. As for your friend, he has been taken from his cell right across from ours towards the Colosseum arena", the mother answered. "Alas, it seems his execution is about to take place… and he may die if you do not hurry", she continued as Travas eyes widened in shock.

"What…?! How long ago was he taken there", Travas asked urgently.

"He was taken just a moment before you and your companion arrived. If you make haste, you might be able to save him from his sudden execution", the Mother claimed as Travas suddenly looks towards Umah.

"Umah, can you acquire the keys and free the prisoners from their prison while I go to the Arena and save Johnny from his execution", Travas asked as Umah nods and turns to the direction there the room with the keys was located.

"I will perform on behalf of your request, Travas", Umah replied as she kisses his lips softly before turning to the mother. "I will be back with the keys shortly", she spoke as she heads for the room where the keys were being held. Within that moment, Travas began to sprint towards the arena with haste and in hopes of saving his kit hood friend from his execution.

As the vulpin was running towards the arena, he notices more piles of mutilated bodies in which have been recently made. Though the sight of the dead mutilated bodies disgusted him, he continues to sprint towards the arena with great speed. About a moment or so later, Travas arrives within the arena and sees various people at the execution stands. However, he notices that his friend, Johnny was next in line as the bladed demons began to walk towards his bloodied, injured state. This began to infuriate him as he begins to prepare a powerful energy based attack as the demon continued to approach the gray fox.

"Though you may have lasted this long against our torturous appetites, it seems that it is time for you to die, you vile creature", the bladed demon spoke as he smirks and prepares its bladed arms to execute the gray vulpin. But before the demon was able to strike the vulpin with its blade, the energy blast Travas had prepared strikes him viciously and pierces right through its stomach, thus causing his entrails to escape from their fleshy prison.

Within a moment, the bladed demon falls upon the arena surface as a lifeless corpse, thus Johnny sighs in relief as he recognizes the being as that of Travas himself. Shortly after, Travas flies towards him as the other prisoners cheer before him and the crowd watching becomes angered and prepares to fight.

"Johnny, thank the maker you're alive", Travas spoke as he released Johnny from his prison and stands upon his feet, though was bloodied from the torture he has faced. "How do you feel", he asked as Johnny looked upon him.

"Other than having so many goddamned slash marks on my arms and one on my chest, I'm feeling a lot better now that I know you're here", Johnny claimed as he smiles weakly upon him. Though he attempted to walk, he begins to collapse as Travas manages to catch him. Then he places Johnny's right arm over his shoulders and starts to carry him by flight, with the prisoners following just behind him on the ground.

While the prisoners were walking hastily towards the exit, the demons sitting on the seats starts jumping off of them and sprint towards the escapees. However, Umah appears before them and begins to strike towards them ferociously as Travas continues to take the prisoners to safety inside. Soon, he places Johnny down at the entrance as another fellow prisoner carries him inside. The vulpin almost immediately heads back towards Umah and begins to help her in annihilating the remainder of the demons one by one.

As the vampuric couple continued to fight, Janos and Vorador suddenly appear before them by teleportation and join them in their battle against the demons. With their arrival, the bodies begin to pile up one after another as the fallen demons bleed upon the arena floor, allowing the vampires to continue their demonic killing spree. Within a minute or two, the demons were finally dead and the vampires cease their killing spree, allowing them to buy time to check on the surviving prisoners inside the Colosseum hallways. But before the vampires could make it to the entrance of the Colosseum Hallways; they hear the laughter of another being flying within the skies above and turn to face him.

Looking upon the being, they notice that he was a muscular wolf with both dark brown and white colored fur around his body with long, black hair leaning upon the right side of his head. The wolf had also worn a pair of black skin-tight leather pants with a light brown loincloth over them. He has worn nothing on his upper body except for a pair of brown leather fingerless gauntlet like gloves with some sort of insignia on the back of the hands. The insignia was that of an 'X' shape with a line just below the middle of the intersection, creating an 'A' shape on the bottom portion of it. When Janos and Vorador look towards his glove like gauntlets, they recognize the insignia as well as the type of demon he was.

"Travas, this wolf like demon appears to be that of the dimension demon himself, though we do not yet know his name", Vorador spoke as the wolf demon descends upon them, landing just within two meters in front of the vampuric team.

"So you must be the vampires that have freed my prisoners from their horrific imprisonment… and from their planned executions as well", the wolf demon spoke as he began to look upon Travas and smirk in delight. "And I assume that you must be the one many people call Travas Starfox, the one whose hand wrought the bloody deed of both Adrian and Alastair's assassinations, am I correct", he asked while smirking.

"Well what do you know; I've got myself another demon entering among my fan base", Travas spoke sarcastically as the wolf demon chuckles in response to his comment. "Now I must ask who the hell you are", he asked calmly, though starts to become angry as the wolf gives a serious look towards the vulpin.

"Very well… if you must know, I am the one many call Infernum, the demon of dimension and ruler of the land of Dark Eden", Infernum answered as Vorador looks at him in calm state of shock, with a mix of recognition in it as well.

"You're the one that was amongst some of the Hylden General's high ranking colonels… and the one that slaughtered many of our vampire armies two centuries ago prior to the final battle for dominance over Nosgoth", Vorador spoke angrily as Infernum looked upon him in response.

"Ah yes, Vorador, one of Nosgoth's notorious vampires in history, and the one that slaughtered six of the members of the circle of nine, in which took place during the glory days of the Sarafan roughly nine centuries ago", Infernum started. "And now you stand here before me as a mockery to Nosgoth's vampire race", he claimed as Vorador began growling in frustration upon his words. But before he could do anything, Janos placed his left hand upon his right shoulder, thus causing him to look upon his sire.

"Vorador, though I may understand your rage against the demon, we do not have the time to get into any battles against him", Janos spoke as Vorador reluctantly nods in response. "Our top priority is to get the prisoners out of this hellish place in order to return them home to their families", he explained while he and Vorador turn to face the Colosseum arena exit and run towards that direction, but Travas and Umah look towards the demon suspiciously.

Within a brief moment, Travas and Umah get into their battle positions as Infernum gets into his in return. But before the vampuric couple could attack the wolf demon, they notice him looking towards the western direction and then back at them once more. Thus he sighs in frustrations and refrains himself from his battle position as Travas and Umah look at him in a suspicious, yet confused manner.

"As much as I would love to engage in battle against you vampires, it seems that our battle must be postponed due to an unexpected urgency at hand. Until we meet again, farewell", Infernum claimed as he summons some sort of green aura based magic to teleport himself towards the western direction, where the vampires turn to see some sort of nearby industrialized kingdom in flames. However, the ground suddenly starts to shake as Janos turns to face them.

"Travas, we must take the remaining survivors and leave this place at once", Janos yelled as Travas and Umah immediately run towards the others and begin to sprint hastily out of the Colosseum.

As they continue sprinting, they gather the survivors together while running as fast as they possibly could. When the exit appeared within their sights, the ceiling itself begins to collapse within a mere four feet behind them. Within their luck, however, they manage to escape from the Colosseum, now lying on the ground as nothing more than a mere pile of rumble covering the molten sands of Dark Eden. Upon their escape, Travas turns to see the rest of his vampuric team along with the surviving human and anthros, thus sighing in relief upon seeing them alive.

"That was a close one, you guys. Is everyone alright", Travas asked as everyone looks at him and nods in response.

"It seems that some of the victims have shown to sustained injuries. Thankfully, however, they seem to be doing alright at this moment. Despite this, though, Janos and I will ensure that the survivors return to their homes at once", Vorador answered as he begins to lead the survivors out of Dark Eden and back into Nosgoth's night skies and vast lands of rich soil. On the way, Travas begins to locate Johnny until he sees him being carried by a few hardly injured survivors. Thus he approaches his kithood and begins to wrap his arm over his shoulder.

"How are you feeling, buddy", Travas asked as Johnny softly smiles at him, though he himself was in a bloodied state caused by the demon's torturous wrath.

"Despite being saved, I feel like shit", Johnny answered. "But hey, I'll survive", he continued with a slightly hoarse voice as Travas flies into the air and towards Dark Eden's exit.

"Hang in there, Johnny… we're taking you and the others to the nearest hospital we can find. You're all in need of immediate medical attention", Travas spoke as he turned to his girlfriend beside him in flight. "Umah, can you go get Johnny's family and take them towards the Uschtenheim Medical center immediately", he asked as Umah nods and flies ahead and towards the exit, setting her sights at the Citadel.

*Inside the Main Chambers of the Citadel*

While Travas and the other vampires continued to take the survivors to safety, Aramantha, Doyle, Celestia, and Johnny's family wait eagerly inside the Main Chambers and even within the Balcony itself. Soon, Doyle enters inside the Main Chambers and approaches Aramantha and Celestia in a concerned manner.

"It's been too long since Janos and the others journeyed to Dark Eden", Doyle started. "We haven't been able to make contact with the 'whisper' since they arrived. Is it possible that they may have gotten themselves lost within, or is it possible that they might have gotten killed", he asked while Alexia turns to see them in a discussion.

"I am not for sure about what might have happened… but it seems that we may have to head towards Dark Eden and investigate the situation ourselves", Aramantha replied, causing Celestia to turn and face her as she was about to fly off towards the dark land.

"Hold on, Aramantha, what about the Johnny's wife and child?!" Celestia asked, stopping her from departing the Citadel. "We can't just simply go off and leave them here on their own at this time of night. One of us has to remain here and keep watch over them both until the others make it back", she added just as Umah appears upon the Balcony and enters inside the Main Chambers. "Umah, you have returned, but where are the others", she asked.

"They just got through the exit of Dark Eden and are currently taking the survivors to the hospital at Uschtenheim in order to find available medical attention for them", Umah explained as she turns to face Johnny's family. "Alexia, your husband is among the surviving prisoners we have brought back. However, he had sustained a small, but vast amount of injuries and is being taken to the Uschtenheim Hospital along with the other survivors. It is time that I took you to see him at once", she continued as Alexia carefully, but immediately picks up her sleeping kit and follows Umah towards the underground Chamber.

In the moment that they enter the Underground Chambers, Alexia unlocks the doors to her Dark Green 1992 YJ Jeep Wrangler. As she did, she places her son in the child seat while Umah sits upon the front passenger's seat. Immediately, Alexia enters the Jeep and turns the key to the gas, thus presses on the gas and drives hastily towards Uschtenheim.

*Within Uschtenheim*

Sometime after the vampires and the surviving prisoners made their escape from Dark Eden, they finally arrive in the small town of Uschtenheim. As they walk towards the hospital, some of the prisoner's families arrive to greet them in tearful relief, seeing that they were not fatally injured or killed. However, the townsfolk also begins helping them with being transported towards the hospital, thus arriving shortly after they began transporting them there,

As they enter the hospital, Janos and Vorador wait on the roof as Travas follows the others inside while holding onto Johnny carefully. Within a few minutes passing, a doctor runs towards the survivors as Travas takes Johnny to his hospital room on the first floor. Upon entering, Travas takes his longtime friend to his bed and carefully sets him down on the memory foam mattress. Within about ten minutes of Travas sitting next to his childhood friend, Umah and Johnny's family enters upon the room, thus Alexia ran towards her injured husband as she carried their vulpin child in her arms.

"Johnny", Alexia yelled softly as she immediately sits next to him. Then Dylan awakens and discovers his father's injured state. Because of this, he crawls onto his bed and wraps his small arms around his father's neck and shoulders gently, but eagerly as well.

"Daddy…" Dylan softly started as he begins sobbing on his father's shoulder. Johnny uses his free arm to gently pat his son's back by means of comforting him as a response.

"Hey son… it's alright, Daddy's here", Johnny spoke softly and comfortingly as he kisses his son's forehead gently. In a similar manner, Travas holds Umah closely in his right arm as she did with her left.

"It's a wonderful thing to see families reunited with their loved ones, don't you agree", Travas asked softly to Umah as she looks at him and kisses his lips.

"I can agree", Umah answered before turning to face the reunited family a second time. "However, it is time that we devise our own plans against the demon we have encountered earlier", she continued as Travas nods in agreement.

"Right", Travas replied softly as he looked upon her. "However, I believe that it is best that we talked about this in some place more private", he continued as he takes Umah out of Johnny's room and starts looking for the stairs that would take them to the Roof. Soon, the two find the door and start walking upstairs until they were met with a cool breeze from the outdoors.

"From what we do know is that, according to what Vorador claimed, the wolf we encountered was a dimensional demon of some sort. And if this seems to be the case, then we may have to devise other plans in order to deal with him", Umah explained as she looks upon the townsfolk of Uschtenheim below. "Another thing to keep in mind that he is capable of going through other dimensions at will. And because of his capabilities, we may have to search for better sources in order to have a better advantage over Infernum", She continued just as Janos and Vorador approached them both.

"What is the condition of Johnny as we speak", Janos asked.

"So far, he's doing alright, though he does have some scars on him from the injuries he's sustained", Travas answered as Vorador looks towards the vulpin.

"Before we continue with our business here, were you and Umah speaking about the demon just a few moments ago", Vorador asked as Travas nods in response.

"Yes, we were", Travas answered. "Why do you ask?"

"I was curious", Vorador replied. "And because of his dimensional abilities, as Umah mentioned, there is a high chance that normal attacks may not affect him at all", he continued while the others gaze at him curiously.

"So what were you thinking that might work against Infernum", Umah asked.

"Our option at best due to the demons abilities… is to find the Soul Reaver and use it against him", Vorador explained as the eyes of everyone else widen in surprise.

"But how do you think we're able to acquire a blade such as that? You know damn well that the sword is in Kain's hands… and he may try to kill us if we ever attempted to steal it from his possession", Umah replied while the others turn their eyes on her.

"Perhaps… however, let us continue this discussion when we return to the Citadel. Let us say our goodbyes to Johnny and his family. Then we shall leave this place and continue where we left off", Janos spoke as they all headed towards Johnny's room together.

At the moment they arrive, the vampires say all of their goodbyes until the next time they met. Janos and Vorador gave their wishes to Johnny and his family before walking back towards Travas and Umah. Then within an instant, Janos uses a teleportation spell and teleports them to the Main Chambers, upon which their discussion concerning Infernum and the Soul Reaver will continue where it left off.

Four years have passed since Travas first stepped foot onto Nosgoth for the first time. But despite the changes in strength and having somewhat longer hair, strange kidnappings have been happening to some of the folks in Nosgoth, including Travas' childhood friend, Johnny. Although the group manage to save the remainder of the survivors, they were met with a new enemy: a dimensional wolf demon identified as Infernum. And apparently, according to Vorador, the only way to defeat him is to acquire the Soul Reaver and kill him with it. There are a few questions that rise because of the vampire's theory: How will they be able to acquire the Reaver if it's under Kain's possession? Will Vorador's theory even work, or will it fail? Lastly, if it's not in Kain's possession, then where is the sword located? Find out in the next installments of 'Legacy of Travas'
