Legacy of Travas

Chapter 20: Acquiring the Reaver

With the night beginning to calm down in Nosgoth, many of its residents' fears about their surviving loved ones taken towards Dark Eden began to abate. However, events seemed to turn for the worse for the demons of Dark Eden as the fire continues to rage within thewestern industrialized kingdom. Many of its demonic residents continue to try and put out the raging flames as Infernum appears before them and surveys his surroundings. Upon arrival, he sees countless number of electric and fiery demons trying to put out the fire with everything they could possibly use. However, it has shown to be in vain as the fire soon began to overwhelm them all, and in response, the demons make their escape from the burning kingdom and head for the rocky field towards the east.

On the moment they had arrived, they turn to watch their once proud kingdom burn to the ground like firewood inside a fireplace. Upon seeing this, Infernum turns to face the demons and growl at them with furious rage, thus causing the other demons to back away from him in frightened shock.

"You god damn fools", Infernum started. "Who was the one that wrought this fiery deed?! And why didn't any of you stop this mad man?!" Infernum shouted loudly and furiously as the other demons back away from him almost immediately, managing to get at least ten more feet away from the mad wolf.

"We had been attacked unexpectedly by an unknown vampire, my lord. We kid you not for he had on black and red armor along with white long hair", an electric demon calmly claimed, though frightened upon seeing his angered master.

"I see… and yet you happened to let this vampire live, huh", Infernum asked in an annoyed tone while preparing some sort of light blue colored energy projectile on the palm of his hand-paws.

"Sire, he was too powerful for us to handle! There was nothing we could've done to stop this madness", the Electric Demon spoke urgently as Infernum begins to calm down and dissipates his projectile that had formed over his hand-paw. This has given the electric demon a sigh of relief as he bows before his sire. "Thank you, Sire", the demon continued speaking as Infernum turns around and flies towards the western direction once again.

Though Infernum continues to face the western direction, he stops within fifty meters from where the demons have positioned themselves at. It was then that he begins to form another light blue colored projectile over his left hand-paw and suddenly throws it at the entire crowd of demons below. As a result from the explosion, the entire army of fiery and electric demons was wiped out into nothing but mere ashes.

"Humph! That will teach you not to stand down against any battle while serving under my rule", Infernum said calmly as he teleports towards the burned down industrial kingdom, where he and other demonic servants would begin to rebuild what had been lost.

*Within the Vampire Citadel, sometime later*

While the trouble amongst Nosgoth's people began to abate, Travas, Umah, Janos, and Vorador arrive at the Citadel and land on the Balcony only to be greeted by Celestia and Doyle. However, they notice that Aramantha was not within the Citadel whatsoever as the vampires enter the Main Chambers. In response, Janos turns to face Doyle and approaches him.

"Doyle, you and the others have done well watching the place whilst our team has been at Dark Eden, and I must thank you for your hard work", Janos thanked before looking towards him with a calm, but curious expression but what makes of Aramantha at this time of night", Janos asked curiously.

"From what I know of, Sire, is that she's taking a small trip towards Avernus during your absence since we have heard rumors about the Soul Reaver possibly being located within the Cathedral", Doyle answered as Vorador quickly turns to face him.

"Avernus…? Why would Kain hide the Reaver at an abandoned place such as that dreaded place", Vorador asked before stroking his chin in a thinking gesture.

"I'm not sure why he chose to hide the sword at such a place, my lord", Doyle spoke while Travas looked towards Vorador. "But do you still wish to travel towards the Cathedral in Avernus", he asked.

"Yes, I do. Though it may not be easy to acquire the Reaver itself, but once acquired, we could put the sword into great use", Vorador spoke with a calm sense of enthusiasm as he looked towards Travas, seeing him smirk upon his words. "And I see that you're eager to relieve the blade from Kain's wretched hands", he asked as Travas' smirk widened slightly.

"Oh yes, Vorador, I've always wanted to fuck Kain over after he tried to assassinate my sexy woman", Travas spoke calmly, but enthusiastically while smirking as he turns to0 face his girlfriend who seemed to be smirking upon his enthusiasm. "And I can tell that you agree with me on this", he claimed while grinning.

"Right you are, Travas", Umah spoke eagerly as she pulled him into a loving, deep kiss. As a response, Travas picks her up by her thighs as she giggled in delight while wrapping her arms around her boyfriend's neck. Then suddenly, Vorador began poking Travas as he broke the kiss and turned to face him, seeing him annoyed by their pleasuring actions.

"I can understand both of your enthusiastic behaviors, but I must ask you to refrain from committing such profound, erotic behavior until Travas' training is done", Vorador said in an annoyed tone as he heads for his quarters. Then, Janos approaches the vampuric couple as they look towards him calmly.

"It is best that the two of you continue on with your training until our plans of acquiring the Soul Reaver have been plotted", Janos ordered as Travas and Umah nod in response, thus the vampuric couple head for the training room below. On the way and out of sight from the others, Umah jumps onto Travas' back playfully as he began to carry her for the rest of the way. From the moment they arrive, the couple change back into a clean pair of the same training clothing they have worn from earlier that night. As soon as the two finish and get into their battle positions, the two vampires begin to clash towards one another at a remarkable speed.

For the next hour or so, Travas and Umah continues to train together and intensifying the training as much as they could for better results. In the process, walls began to crack and craters are formed upon the marble floor. Though the training was still intense, the couple continued to throw some of the fiercest punches and kicks they could perform against each other. After a short while passes, the two final grow tiresome of the training and land upon the damaged marble floor below. In that instant, the two started to walk towards the Shower Room to cleanse themselves of the sweaty bodies they've acquired by the training.

Within a matter of ten minutes, the two come out of the showers with towels wrapped around the appropriate sections of their bodies. Though only covered with the towels, the couple begins walking towards their room without the others there to watch them go through with their current attire. Within a few minutes, they make it into their room and remove their towels as they get on the bed and underneath the sheets. For the remainder of the night, the vampuric couple continues to perform their more private 'training' of their own.

As the weeks continued to pass by, Aramantha and Celestia continued to look upon Avernus Cathedral with the upmost of caution, trying to find the proper means of entering without being spotted by any of the armed forces there. At the same time, the Vampire Resistance continues to train amongst the highest standards possible to obtain the best strength they could possibly acquire. On the fourth week, Travas and Umah were training amongst the highest level of difficulty as Janos comes in and looks towards them, waving at the two in order to obtain their attention. Within a moment, Umah and Travas land onto the marble floor and begin to walk towards the winged vampire after noticing the winged vampire.

"Sire, have the plans regarding the Soul Reaver been made", Umah asked.

"Yes… it is time that we meet within the Sacred Chamber and discuss the plans there", Janos answered as he turns to face Travas. "I do not believe that you or Umah have been into the Sacred Chambers before, have you not", he asked as Travas shook his head.

"No, we haven't…" Travas and Umah simultaneously answered as Janos smiles and turns to face the door.

"Then the two of you are in luck today since it has been rebuilt by a couple of our well-crafted architects during your training in the past month", Janos said as he exited the Training Room, with Travas and Umah head to their room by means of getting changed.

Upon entering their room, Umah and Travas began to strip from their clothing and acquire their outfits for the mission. For Travas, he merely puts on a black tank top tucked into his sanded blue skintight jeans while putting on his black leather fingerless motorcycle gloves. He then puts on his silver bullet belt by means of keeping his tank top tucked in while putting on his silver metallic boots his girlfriend got him a few years back. For Umah, she grabs a black skinny midriff and a pair of dark blue super skinny fitting jeans. Then she puts on her usual long back arm warmer glove and metallic boots as the couple finally departs their room to meet with Janos outside.

As they begin walking towards the Sacred Chamber, Janos looks back upon them briefly, seeing them look into each other's eyes as he smiles upon the loving couple. He then looks back towards the path they walk as the trio enter the Balcony and take the path on the right, which lead to the entrance of the Sacred Chamber itself. Within a few minute's notice, they arrive to the entrance as Janos opens the golden decorated door, letting them enter inside the Chamber's beautiful garden within.

Upon the moment they entered, Travas and Umah look at the fresh, healthy Gardens in a speechless, shocking impression as the light of day shines upon it beautifully, shining like a natural treasure to the Citadel. Soon, they see Vorador within the heart of the Chamber itself, for the circular marble platform was surrounded by a circular river of sacred waters, with one bridge connecting it to the surrounding marble land. Within a moment, the trio walks toward the heart of the chamber to be greeted by Vorador.

"I see that the both of you are stunned by the beauty of the Sacred Chamber's architecture and gardens, are you not", Vorador asked as Umah and Travas nod in unison.

"Very much, Vorador", Umah and Travas spoke in unison as Vorador softly chuckles upon their shocked expression before turning his own into a more serious one.

"Though this chamber has a long history behind it, we do not have the luxury to explain about it, for it is time that we discuss the plans for acquiring the Reaver", Vorador started as Umah and Travas nod again with calm expressions on their faces. "Over the past month, Celestia and Doyle have examined every entry within Avernus Cathedral thoroughly in hopes of finding the right pathways needed to enter", he explained while looking towards Travas and his girlfriend.

"Were they able to find any useful pathways that could help us gain entry within the Cathedral", Travas asked just as Vorador begins to smile.

"As a matter of fact, they have found a suitable entrance", Vorador answered before he restrains from smiling, causing him to face the vulpin once again with a calm expression on his face. "Though the Cathedral itself seemed to be too heavily guarded by some unknown mercenaries, it also seems that the place itself appears to be abandoned", he continued while Umah looked upon him with curiosity on her mind.

"If the place itself is abandoned, then why is it that these unknown mercenaries currently guard the place", Umah asked with suspicion about the Cathedral itself.

"That, I do not know. Based upon what I was told by Celestia, however, you will find a Tavern that will lead you towards an underground route. This route will also lead you directly towards an underground entrance to the Cathedral itself, thus allowing you to enter without being seem by the guards. But beware, however, though it seems to be abandoned, that does not mean that it is uninhabited since Celestia and Doyle had mentioned something about strange disturbances being conducted within the Cathedral itself", Vorador warned as the couple nods, acknowledging the veteran vampire's warning.

"We understand, sir", Travas and Umah replied in unison before turning towards to the exit of the Sacred Chamber. However, Janos runs up to them as they turn to face him, seeing him stop just a few feet in front of them.

"Be careful you two…" Janos spoke softly. Then the two leave the Sacred Chamber and walk back towards the Balcony, where they would make their departure from the Citadel towards Avernus. Soon, Vorador stands before him as Janos looks upon him in a slightly worried manner.

"I sense that you're worried about them not being able to acquire the Reaver from Avernus successfully. I can see it in your eyes", Vorador claimed while Janos softly nods.

"I do not doubt their abilities in obtaining the blade… but I am worried about what kind of monstrosities await them when they enter the Cathedral", Janos replied while looking towards the exit that Travas and Umah took to leave the Chamber.

"You needn't worry about any of the monstrosities they may encounter. If they do, then those two will be able to handle it without any trouble whatsoever", Vorador spoke as he headed for the same exit Travas and Umah had taken, though Janos stood there with questionable thoughts coursing his mind.

"I hope you are right, Vorador…" Janos thought as he begins to follow Vorador towards the exit, thus they continue with their own duties they were assigned to perform.

*Upon the Balcony*

Within the moment Travas and Umah arrive to the Balcony, the couple looks upon the direction where Avernus was located. Then in unison, Travas and his girlfriend fly towards Avernus with their minds focused on one objective: to acquire the Reaver and use it to aid them in their upcoming battle against Infernum. With this focused on their minds, they increase the speed towards Avernus by means of fulfilling their task as fast as they possibly could.

*Somewhere within Dark Eden*

As the day continues to progress within Dark Eden, a legion of demons continue to repair the damage within the western Industrial kingdom that Kain had apparently destroyed the month before. While the demons continued their repairs, Infernum arrives onto the site as the other demons turn to face him. Thus, the demons see the depths of his unpleased eyes as they immediately back away from him in fear.

"What makes of the Western Kingdom's repairs as of late", Infernum asked calmly, but furiously while the others slowly back away from him, thus beginning to anger him more than he already was. "I expect you demons to give me an answer at once!" he yelled as an electric demon approaches him slowly, though kept its distance from Infernum as much as possible.

"We have continued to work upon the repairs as much as we could, my lord. But it seems that we are running out of supplies to finish the task", the electric demon answered.

"Then roam around the land of Dark Eden and find more supplies at once", Infernum ordered as a red fiery demon steps forth and stands next to the electric demon.

"Sire, we cannot continue the repairs of the Kingdom any further until you provide us the supplies we currently need to finish the job", the red fiery demon complained as Infernum looks at the demon with furious eyes.

"You dare try to defy my orders and try to claim that I have to be the one to provide you the proper supplies required to finish the task I humbly ordered you to do ", Infernum yelled as he quickly summons a light blue energy based blade on his right hand and got into battle position. "Very well then, allow me to reassure you upon who is the one that's holding all of the cards", he spoke aggressively as the fiery demon gets into his battle position and begins attacking Infernum using his fire breathing ability.

Though the fight was enlightening to some of the demons, the battle was short lived as Infernum uses his energy blade to sever the head from the demon's body, thus turning the fiery demon into nothing more than a lifeless corpse bleeding upon Dark Eden's molten, rocky land. He then turns to face the other demons as they instantly back farther away from him in fear.

"I expect you demons to have this kingdom repaired by the end of the first half of this month. Otherwise if you fail to comply with my orders, I shall take disciplinary actions towards every single one of you that I see appropriate", Infernum warned as he turns towards his current residence within the Colosseum in the east. "I suggest that every single one of you heed my warning or otherwise face the consequences of your own actions for failing to obey what I have just told you all", he continued as he teleports towards the Colosseum and the demons start to get back to work. Almost immediately, a small group of electrical and fiery demons begin searching for the supplies they urgently needed for the repairs of the kingdom… and to avoid suffering the possible consequence of death from their own master.

*Within the Skies near Avernus*

While Infernum was dealing with his legion of demons, Travas and Umah draw closer towards the town of Avernus, for the town was now well within their sight. Shortly after spotting the town, the two vampires land on the strong branches of a nearby tree and looks upon the Cathedral, seeing that the place is heavily surrounded by heavily armed mercenaries.

"Shit… Vorador wasn't joking about the place being heavily guarded", Travas spoke quietly as he looks towards Umah as she did to him. "Do you know where the Tavern might be located", he asked as Umah begins to survey the area from the position she's in.

"I am unsure of where it may be at this time, but when we locate it, we shall devise our plans to enter the Cathedral without the guards-" she spoke until she was interrupted by spotting the Tavern itself. "There we go, but it seems that the Tavern is also heavily guarded as well. It looks like we may need to approach the place by other cautious methods", she said as Travas nods and looks upon some of the trees and vines that lead to the tavern.

"And I believe I may have found a way to get there without being spotted Are you up for some vine swinging, 'Jane'", Travas joked as Umah briefly laughs at his comment before looking at the trees and nodding in response.

"With pleasure, 'Tarzan'", Umah joked back as Travas chuckles briefly and looks upon the trees with a grin on his face. Within that moment, the couple begins to jump hastily onto the branches and swing on the vines by means of avoiding the heavily armed guards.

While they were traveling by jumping on branches and swinging on the vines, the guards begin to survey the area carefully for any suspicious activity, for they began to hear some unusual noises coming from within the woods. Though they haven't spotted anything out of the ordinary, they begin to have suspicions as Travas and Umah arrive at the unguarded back entrance of the Tavern. They enter inside the Tavern with the upmost of caution as they notice a group of about seven to ten heavily armed mercenaries inside the bar. While avoiding the mercenaries, the couple began to look around the interior for which the entrance to the underground route may lay within.

As a few minutes pass by like hours, they continued their search for the route entrance, finding nothing but barrels of Ale and Lager within the storage room. Soon, the two begin to walk towards another room until Travas stepped onto something hollow, which was blocked off by a crate full of international spices. Shortly after, the vulpin moves the crate to the side and opens the latch before him, thus the underground route entrance is found. Almost immediately, the couple nod to each other as Umah drops down, with Travas following as he shuts the latch as quietly as he could.

"Here we are…! The route that will take us towards the Cathedral without any trouble from the mercenaries", Umah spoke while surveying the route containing flaming torches as the only light source. The vulpin takes one of the torches and uses it to light their way. "But beware of any possible dangers that lurk about in the dark… and I can sense something amongst the undead lies somewhere just up ahead", she warned as Travas nods while surveying their surroundings.

"Now that I mention it, I see something moving just up ahead. Best be on our guard", Travas warned as he unsheathes his claws, using his left hand-paw to hold onto the torch.

As they grew closer, they begin to notice the being as that of an undead skeleton roaming about the room. It was moving in a motion similar to that of a zombie, but walking like a normal living being with its arms reaching as far as they could in front of the undead being. Travas simply rolls his eyes as he fires a small energy blast towards the skeletal being. To his surprise, however, the skeletal being explodes like a stick of dynamite at the moment the energy blast hit its target. Fortunately, however, none of the bone fragments hit them after the sudden explosion had occurred.

"Holy shit…" Travas calmly spoke while surprised about what had just happened. "I don't think I've had any visions regarding these fellas. Looks like we have to be a bit more careful when destroying these dudes", he continued as his ears perk up in response to hearing faint voices from behind.

"Is something wrong", Umah asked as she turned around to hear the faint voices as well.

"It looks like the mercenaries might've heard the explosion. Quick! Get behind one of the stacks of crates just up ahead", Travas ordered as he and his girlfriend sprint towards the crates and hides behind one of them. The vulpin also places an empty one with a few holes over them both to avoid being seen by the mercenaries. Within a moment, a few heavily-armed mercenaries arrived at the scene, two human and the third being a brown and white timber wolf, thus noticing the exploded pieces of bone scattered throughout the area.

"Sir, it seems that one of the skeletal warriors has been destroyed by some sort of energy attack", the first human mercenary started while picking up a piece of bone and showing it to the other two. "I can tell by the burn marks on the bone I hold in my hand", he claimed as the other two begins searching around the area for clues.

"I see… however, you two go on and head back into the tavern. I will remain here and continue searching the area for any suspicious activity with the route", the timber wolf mercenary ordered as the two human mercenaries nod and run back towards the Tavern. "Good god I hate those damned things. It's not like they're all over the fucking trail since part of it is right underneath a nearby Cemetery", he claimed within his thoughts as the wolf begins to search the area for anything unusual or any signs of foul play.

After about five minutes of searching, the wolf finishes looking around and begins to walk back towards the Tavern. But before he takes a step further, he begins to smell the scents of two people somewhere within the area of the Underground Route he's in. He then begins to follow the scent as it leads towards the crates near his position.

"You there…! Get out of the crates and reveal yourselves to me at once", the timber wolf mercenary ordered while approaching the crates with caution. But as he approaches the crates, he pulls out his M4A1 assault rifle and equips it quickly. Upon the moment he was about to open the crate in front of him, Umah immediately jumps out of the crate and pins the wolf to the wall.

"Such foolishness for a wolf with a powerful sense of both smell and agility to be caught by a vampire such as myself", Umah started before she begins to smirk in delight. "Then again, we vampires tend to out muscle wolves rather easily", she claimed while tightening the grip around his neck with her left hand. "Though it seems that you've found us, it is unfortunate that you now have to die in order to continue our blood supply", the female vampire claimed as she bites onto the wolf's neck, sinking her fangs deep inside his flesh as she begins to drain him of his blood.

While Umah was drinking the wolf's blood, she uses her free index finger to invite her boyfriend, which Travas himself shakes his head to politely refuse the tempting offer. With this, Umah continues to feed upon the wolf's life blood until he became a lifeless corpse, soon to lie upon the ground deprived of his blood.

"Now that my thirst has been satisfied, shall we continue to progress towards the Cathedral", Umah asked.

"With pleasure, babe", Travas said while smirking and kissing her lips before continuing on through the Underground Route and towards the cathedral. But within a few minutes of walking, they begin to see a few more skeletal warriors as the enemies start to approach them in an aggressive manner.

Unlike the previous encounter, Travas uses his telekinesis to push the small group of skeletal warriors back before anything could be done. Within that moment, Travas and Umah start summoning energy within the palms of their hands and aim it towards their skeletal enemies. But before they fire their attacks, however, they notice some steel spikes strike them from the right side of the wall, thus causing them to explode like the previous one they encountered earlier.

After this unexpected event happened, the vampuric couple starts to proceed with caution while looking around for any other enemies or traps that lie within. Before progressing any further, though, the couple stops at the instant the spiked walls tried to strike upon them. Thankfully, however, Travas and Umah slightly jump back before the spikes could even make contact with their bodies. At the same time, they notice that an armored skeletal warrior had been working the switches to the walls.

"It looks like that we may have found our problem. But fortunately I have the solution that could end this sudden annoyance", Travas claimed as he begins to use his telekinetic energy to throw the bony warrior away from the switch. Umah, on the other hand, uses her telekinetic abilities to activate the switch for the spiked walls and obliterates the armored skeletal warrior that Travas bought towards them. Thus, their problem concerning the spike wall was no more as the two vampires continue to walk onwards to the Cathedral.

Over the course of an hour, the couple continued to walk through the Underground Route like following a map to a maze. Around this time, their travel continuously came to a halt as they were met with sudden traps and skeletal enemies. Travas and Umah manage to defeat their enemies swiftly and continue on as if no obstacle ever got in their way. Though they have made a good amount of progress, they then came to another, abrupt halt as they smell the fresh scent of gunpowder within the crypt dungeon.

"Damnit… it seems that either the mercenaries or the skeletal enemies planted a fresh batch of gunpowder around here", Travas spoke as they notice barrels of gunpowder located towards the left corner ahead of them.

"Gunpowder…? What for", Umah asked while examining the large underground Dungeon Crypt, upon which there were no sign of any usage amongst the floors.

"Most likely for landmines or other explosives somewhere within this dungeon…" Travas claimed as he looked upon Umah as she did to him. "We must tread carefully and slowly, otherwise we'll end up becoming nothing more than blasted body parts scattered within this chamber", he spoke with calm seriousness as they began to survey the area while moving slowly. Suddenly, however, a vast group of skeletal warriors appear from their crypts and begin to walk hastily towards the two vampires. But like Travas had claimed moments ago, some of the landmines within the Dungeon Crypt begin to explode at the moment the warriors made contact with them, thus exploding their fragile bodies and turning them into dust.

"This isn't good. If these undead warriors continue to come towards us, the explosions will start to either bring about the heavily armed mercenaries or cause the dungeon itself to collapse within the aftershock", Umah claimed while they begin to dodge the explosions caused by the skeletal warriors stepping on the landmines.

As the vampires continue to dodge the explosions, the skeletal bodies began to crumble into dust while the crypt ceiling starts to crack unexpectedly. This, in response, brought the attention of both vampires as they begin looking for a safe place to hide. As the last of the mines explode, the ceiling finally starts to collapse upon the Crypt as the vulpin forms a bright blue colored energy shield to cover both he and his girlfriend's bodies. Almost instantly, the large bowling ball to boulder sized ceiling chunks start crashing into the crypt, crushing the remainder of the skeletal army and toppling the vampuric couple, crushing them upon the newly pile of rubble within their confined barricaded shield.

*Upon the Balcony of the Citadel*

The day continues to progress in Nosgoth, along with the vampires' training within the Citadel. But upon the Balcony, Janos looks worryingly at the direction where Avernus lies, which was where Travas and Umah are currently located at. Soon, however, Vorador arrives and notices Janos' worried expression and walks towards his sire.

"Janos, what troubles you upon this hour", Vorador asked.

"I… fear that something happened to Travas and Umah while they were lurking about the Underground Route", Janos spoke as he turned to face Vorador.

"What do you mean, sire", Vorador asked a second time.

"I am unsure about why… but I sense that something terrible has happened to them both just a few moments ago", Janos explained further as he looks back towards the direction in which Avernus lies.

"I see…" Vorador replied as he turns to face the entrance to the Main Chambers. "Very well… I will see to it that the remainder of our Vampires report to the Main Chambers at once. But, it is safe to say that I can assume that those two are safe through some tactic Travas might have up his sleeve", he claimed as he enters the Main Chambers and Janos continues to look upon the direction of Avernus.

"I hope you are right Vorador", Janos thought within his mind as he turned towards the Main Chambers and walks towards the entrance. Before entering, he looks back at the direction of Avernus for a moment before turning back and entering the Main Chambers.

*Within the Underground Route, Avernus*

With the meeting beginning to set into motion at the Citadel, the Underground Dungeon Crypt ceiling's collapse has finally stagnated. But within a few moments, large chunks of boulder sized ceiling fragments began to be shifted away as Travas starts to move upwards by means of getting free. Within a brief moment, the vampuric couple is freed from their crumbled prison as the vulpin takes Umah, who was unconscious, in his arms and flies towards a nearby spot where the rubble hadn't touched. Soon he lands on the spot and sits on the brick floor, using his legs support Umah's unconscious body as he holds her in his arms closely.

"Umah, c'mon, wake up! Please, you gotta wake up", Travas calmly, though in a strong worried tone, pleaded as he gently shakes her as an attempt to wake her. But to his misfortune, he catches the faint sounds of giant footsteps coming from the northern entrance of the Crypt. Thus he turns to see an approaching brown colored fiery demon and gets into his battle position within short notice.

"So you must be the legendary Travas Starfox I've been hearing about during these recent times. And I can assume that you were the one that destroyed my sanctuary", the demon asked while getting into his battle position.

"I wouldn't assume that, demon. This was the work of your skeletal warriors after they stepped on landmines scattered around the place", Travas replied just before the demon begins sprinting towards his direction. Travas, in response, unsheathes his claws and sprinted towards the demon as well.

Upon the moment of intersection, the clashing warriors begin to strike against each other fiercely as another wave of skeletal warriors start to approach them. This time, one of the groups begins approaching Umah's unconscious body as Travas looks and notices, thus he fires an energy blast towards the skeletal warriors. Unfortunately, however, Travas was met with a fierce fiery strike on the torso after firing the blast at the skeletal warriors approaching Umah.

Though Travas' tank top was burned off by the attack, his torso, to his surprise, remained unharmed. Almost immediately after the attack, Travas flies towards Umah's unconscious body and guards her as much as he could. Soon the demon and the skeletal army begin to approach as he prepares another powerful energy blast on his right hand-paw. Likewise, the demon starts to summon forth a powerful fiery attack within its mouth while the skeletal army prepares to fight the vampuric fox.

Within the moment the demon fires his attack against the vampuric vulpin, Travas himself hurls his energy blast at the demon and its skeletal army. Thus, the attack explodes on them with massive force, obliterating them as the vulpin picks Umah up bridal style and flies away from the blast. Suddenly, he notices a newly formed pathway created by the explosion and flies towards it with fast speed before the moment the rest of the Dungeon Crypt is destroyed. Upon the instant he lands inside the new path, Travas sits upon the marble floor before him as he gently rests Umah's head on his chest, stroking her cheek comfortingly in the process.

"Umah, wake up… please…" Travas pleaded while stroking her forehead gently. Within about ten seconds, Umah's eyes began to slowly open, causing Travas to sigh in relief and softy smile at her as she looks upon him. "Welcome back, Umah", he spoke softly as Umah smiles upon him.

"Travas… where are we", Umah asked while gazing at his emerald green eyes.

"It looks like we're inside some sort of pathway created by the explosion from earlier. But before you awoke, the Dungeon Crypt caved in after I fired an energy blast towards a demon and a second wave of the skeletal army inside", Travas explained as he begins to survey the surrounding area they now bestowed upon. "And telling from the marble floor and decorated architectural room, it is safe to say that we're possibly inside some sort of an underground room of the Cathedral", he continued while looking around for an exit. Suddenly, he sees a ladder about twenty-five meters from their position and softly smiles and turns back to face his girlfriend.

"I see you have found an exit", Umah asked, telling by the look in her boyfriend's eyes.

"Yep, and looks like we might've made it to the Cathedral", Travas claimed before standing back up and holding onto Umah, carrying her bridal style. "Are you able to walk by chance", he asked.

"Yeah, I should after you protected me from the explosion", Umah answered as Travas sets her down carefully. Thankfully, she was able to move about even though she had been injured by the blasts. With Umah being able to move, the two began to walk towards the ladder and climb towards the ceiling door that was about thirty feet above. While climbing, Travas keeps an eye on his girlfriend by means of keeping her safe.

When they reach the top, Travas unlocks the diamond-plated door and looks around the hall in case of any nearby guards surveying the place. To his luck none of the guards are seen amongst the hallway as he and Umah enter with ease, though remained quiet. When they entered amongst the hallway, Travas looks upon the architectural structure of every window vault, column, stained glass windows, and painted murals within. Upon the moment the couple enter the extraordinarily sized Chapel, Travas' eyes widen in shock and amazement as he sees the true master work of the Cathedral's gothic style architecture for the first time.

"Whoa… we have churches back on Alopex, but not a single one with architecture such as this one", Travas claimed with an amazed, but shocked tone as he continues to look upon the Chapel's interior.

Though Travas was eager to browse within the Cathedral, the two vampires had to acquire the Reaver at all cost and start to look within the Chapel for any secret entrances leading to the sword. But after about a five minute search, the couple looks upon the Altar of the Church as some disturbing energy starts to form a portal. The two start drawing closer towards it in response, but with caution as well. With the portal shown before them, the couple nods to each other as they cautiously, yet calmly enter the portal before them. Thus, they arrive upon what appears to be an ancient cave with lit torches, a brick pathway, and dark themed mural paintings seen on the walls.

As the couple continues to walk amongst the pathway provided, they look upon the paintings that described what seemed to be a war against the Ancient Vampires and their adversaries, the Hylden. However, they have been depicted based upon the Hylden adversaries' point of view, telling the story on how the Vampire Ancients had started the war that would destroy both victor and vanquished alike. During their journey, however, one painting in particular caught their attention while walking upon the pathway, which was a mural of what seemed to be the adversary race's champion, who bore a flaming sword.

Within a minute after looking upon the mural, the couple continues walking the path where it would hopefully take them to the place where the sword was kept. As they go through a pair of decorative doors, they enter the interior of an old chamber that contains a pit about one hundred and fifty feet deep. They have also notice a bridge leading to an altar directly above the pit. To the right of the altar, they spot another small chamber with something glowing within the interior. As a response, the couple walk towards the smaller chamber and, to their luck, they spot the Soul Reaver floating in a horizontal manner, with a bright blue aura glowing upon the blade and skull's eye sockets.

"We've finally made it, Umah. The Soul Reaver is ours for the taking", Travas answered while looking upon the blade.

"Yet we've come here, knowing the risk of death once we relieve the sword from Kain's possession", Umah spoke as Travas begins to slowly approach the sword. "Be careful, Travas… I do not know what the sword could do the moment you make contact with the heft of the blade", she claimed.

"Noted", Travas replied while approaching the sword in a calm, but cautious manner. From the moment he is at reaching distance, Travas places his right hand-paw onto the handle of the Reaver and clutches it tightly. Thus, he pulls the blade out of the aura shield and takes it into his possession, looking upon the sword with astonishment as Umah lets out a sigh of relief in response to nothing happening to her beloved boyfriend.

"Thank god…" Umah spoke softly as Travas begins to approach her. "Now that we have acquired the reaver, it is time that we return to the Citadel at once and begin plotting our actions to assassinate Infernum", she continued as Travas places the Soul Reaver behind his back.

"With pleasure Umah", Travas spoke while wrapping his arms around her waist as she did to him. Before the two make it to the twin doors, however, the vulpin once again feels a sudden, sharp jolt of pain in his head, knowing that another vision comes under way as he covered his eyes and knelt down to the floor.

*Vision*

Inside the Simulation Room at the Alopex Academy, Redford and his team continues fending off what seemed to be some sort of unidentified creatures from another world. Apparently, however, the creatures have claimed to identify themselves as demons from the Hylden dimension located somewhere within Nosgoth. Unfortunately, most of the team members have been injured so greatly that some of their bones were broken, parts of their bodies were covered in blood, and they could no longer fight.

Though this seemed to the case, one male vulpin identified as Sly Greytail, while bloodied and injured, continues to stand against the four demons that now face him with arms ready for the next attack. Behind him at the eight o'clock direction lies his unconscious pre-mate, Erica Starfox, who had apparently been knocked out by being violently thrown towards a nearby tree. Because of this, she lies upon her chest and stomach with her head tilted to her right side.

With Erica's unconscious state being his influence to continue fighting, Sly begins sprinting towards the green bladed demon as it did to him in return. Upon the moment that Sly starts to use his knife to strike the bladed demon, it starts to use its left forearm to pin the vulpin against a nearby tree. The Demon starts to chuckle as it prepares its right bladed arm by means of severing the vulpin's head from his body.

"I must admit that you have fought against us valiantly and with great courage, and I commend you on that", the green bladed demon said before looking towards him with a serious expression. "But it seems that it is time I put you out of your misery by being the first to die", the demon spoke as the others began laughing softly and turned to face the bloodied, injured vulpin team.

"Sly… no", Redford uttered softly while coughing up a small portion of his blood. Tears also start to form in his eyes and stream down his face, knowing that he couldn't stop the demons from assassinating his cousin.

"Oh no…" Artica thought within her mind as she tries to stand back on her feet, but then collapses backwards onto the ground once more while remaining conscious, sobbing as a response she could not save either Sly or Erica from their fates.

"Sly… Erica… I'm so sorry", Scarlet spoke softly while tears begin to form and stream down her face, unable to stop the demons from committing their first execution. She slams her fists on the ground by reason of her or the others not being able to save their beloved friend and comrade.

"Erica… I've done my best… but I'm sorry… I can't save you from these bastards", Sly thought to himself as he turns away from the demons and shuts his eyes, unwilling to watch his own death. Like the others, tears began to stream down his face upon which his life was about to come to an abrupt end. "I love you… Erica".

Within moment, the demon begins to swing its bladed arm towards Sly's head by means of severing it from his body. Sly, however, was instead met with blood splattering upon his face as he opens his eyes, seeing the Demon's head severed from its body and its bladed arm within a foot from his neck. Suddenly, the murdered Demon's forearm releases the vulpin from its grip as Sly lands on the grassy land on his bottom, only to be suddenly relieved as he spots Erica conscious once more. Soon, his relieved face turns to a shocked, almost horrified expression as he discovers his pre-mate's forearms covered in the bladed demon's blood.

"Erica…! What happened to you…?" Sly spoke quietly in a horrified tone as he looks toward his demonic blood covered pre-mate. But what truly shocked him the most was changes she had undergone, seeing her face containing black markings that looked like tears dripping down her face. Along with this, Sly also discovers her eyes being a glowing red color, with glowing emerald green irises in them. "What have you become…?"

Almost immediately after the Bladed Demon was murdered, the other surviving demons turned to face their now dead companion with a calm sense of shock before turning to face Erica's demonic blood covered forearms and mid-torso. In a similar manner, Redford and the rest of his team gaze at Erica with a shocking sense of horror and fear, though they have felt a small sense of relief after she saved her pre-mates life.

As they gaze Erica, the other teammates notice that her eyes turned into a glowing red color through its entirety with glowing green irises as pupils. Along with this, they notice that black horrific tear-pattered markings had formed underneath her demonic eyes with slightly sharper fangs inside her muzzle. In a similar notion, her claws have become much sharper and longer than they once were, so much so that they were as sharp as freshly forged knives ready for combat. Soon, the demons began to get into their battle positions once more as the demonic Erica herself starts to smirk in delight.

"So you finally come out into the open at last, you demonic little vixen", the Red Fiery Demon spoke while looking towards the newly transformed teenage vixen.

"It seems that I have, you damned demons", Erica replied as she gets into battle position. "Now flee from this place or I will send you all back to hell!"

"It is unfortunate that you have to come with us at last, whether your dead or alive", the First Electrical demon claimed.

"Our Hylden Master requires us to ravish you from this metallic land we stand upon", the Second Electric Demon spoke. "Otherwise we'll have no choice but to assassinate you. But either way, we're taking your body to him as you shall become the new vessel for our Master's plans", it continued.

"So what is your decision: Willingly come forth, or die fighting against us while taking your corpse to the Hylden Dimension, where it will serve our Master's plans", the Fiery Demon asked while they smirked and chuckled upon Erica. Soon, Erica's smirk widened as she herself began chuckling upon her answer for them

"I have an answer that suits my decision well", Erica replied. "I will not follow any of your master's plans and I don't intend on leaving this place", she answered as the vixen unsheathes her claws, preparing to fight the demons herself. "And let me tell you this: You're all going to die", she claimed while smirking eagerly.

"We shall see about that, vixen", the First Electrical Demon claimed as it sprints towards Erica and attacks with full force. But as a response, she begins clashing against the demon with her claws while blocking all of the Demon's attacks with ease.

As the fight continues to progress, Redford and the other teammates watch the battle with a mixture of both horror and eagerness, hoping that Erica's transformation might do the job. Suddenly, the First Electrical Demon began to power up a massive amount of amount of energy that caused bolts of lightning to strike upon various parts of the area. Luckily, however, the bolts of lightning barely miss Redford and his injured team. Soon, the energy forms a ball of electricity that blowout some of the lights as the Primary Electrical Demon throws it towards Erica.

"If you fools really think you're going to kill me that easily with such an attack, think again you demonic pieces of shit", Erica thought to herself as she effortlessly dodges by jumping at a higher altitude. She then forms a red ball of energy in the palm of her right hand-paw and throws it instantly towards the First Electrical Demon. Upon contact, the energy ball strips the demon of its flesh and turned it into blood-stained bone, shocking Redford and his team upon witnessing such a devastating attack.

"What… what the kenal was that", Artica asked in a horrified tone, seeing the blood-stained bones topple to the ground as Scarlet looks upon the arctic vixen in a similar expression.

"I don't know… but this is becoming too horrific to watch", Scarlet replied as she turns to face the bloody battle. "Now that I mention it, I think Erica was right about all of this from the start", she thought while watching the battle with a horrified expression.

As Redford and his Team continue to watch, the demonic Erica starts to fight against the Fiery Demon with eagerness on her face. Likewise, the opposing demon began to use its hands to summon powerful fireballs and began to throw them upon Erica. Just like with the Primary Electrical Demon, she dodges them effortlessly as she uses her claws to strike its chest, causing a well sized football shaped laceration just next to where its heart lies. As a response, the Fiery Demon turns to face Erica as it begins growling with angered frustration.

"You filthy little vixen, you dare make a mockery out of us demons like we were mere pawns to your game", the Fiery Demon yelled angrily while the demonic vixen laughs upon his words as if they were a mere joke. "Stop laughing this instant, you wretched little cunt", it spoke while pulling its hands upward; causing whatever object was in the way in front of the demon to set ablaze. Just as Erica's body starts to smoke, she manages to barely dodge the attack by hiding behind a shaded region. After the attack stagnated, she jumps out and begins chuckling at the demon as she smirks in delight.

"That's a nice trick there, buddy. However, it seems that two could play at this game, but with a rather different method", Erica said as she raises her hand-paws upward, causing the Fiery Demon to rise a few feet above its position and its body to fume in smoke. Within a moment, the Fiery Demon is set ablaze and falls upon the simulated grassland as a lifeless corpse, thus turning her sights upon the Secondary Electrical Demon, who was approaching Sly. In response, she sprints towards the last demon just as it grabs onto Sly's injured body without it noticing the demonic vixen approaching him at a fast pace.

"Sorry to say it, pathetic little creature, but it seems that your life has come full-" the Secondary Electrical Demon spoke until it was suddenly impaled by some sort of object, causing it to drop Sly as he slowly backs away from the demon. In response, the final demon looks down at its chest and noticed Erica's right arm holding onto the Demon's still beating heart. Thus it turns to face Erica's angered expression and cold, demonic eyes.

"Hey! Didn't I just tell you demons that you were all going to die" Erica sarcastically, yet seriously asked as she crushes the final Demon's heart, thus stopping its beating as the Demon collapses upon the simulated grassland as a newly, lifeless corpse. With the final Demon slain, the green aura barrier begins to dissipate as Erica finally loses consciousness once more. This time, however, Sly runs to his pre-mate and catches her before she could crash onto the simulated grassland. But like all the other visions before, Travas was once again swept back into reality before anything else could be seen.

*Vision End*

Upon the moment the vision ends, Travas suddenly collapses onto his knees as Umah barely catches him by his torso. She looks at him in his sweaty state as she becomes worried about what she believed the future may hold for the Vampire Resistance. Within a mere moment, Travas looks towards Umah's silver-purple eyes as he began to calm down slightly, thus allowing the female vampire to calm down in the process.

"What did you see", Umah asked with calm anxiety.

"Apparently another part of a vision I had four years ago. This time, however, it seems that her demonic side was revealed to her team during an attack in the Simulation Room on Alopex", Travas explained while getting himself together. "However, I think it's about time that we get the hell out of here, don't you agree", he continued as Umah grabs onto his shoulders.

"Agreed, but I think it is time that we make our escape by teleportation. We can teleport back near the entrance of Avernus", Umah said as she begins to use her teleportation ability, thus taking them to the entrance of Avernus instantly.

*Within Dark Eden*

Inside the Colosseum of Dark Eden, Infernum awakens from his needed slumber and looks towards the western direction. From what he could see, progress upon the repairs of the western Kingdom became noticeable to the demonic wolf. To see the Kingdom for himself, he exits by flight through the window and begins flying towards the Industrialized Kingdom.

Within the repairing Industrialized Kingdom, many of its demonic workers continue to rebuild the destroyed city as fast as they could. Though they have managed to rebuild a remarkable amount of the kingdom, they turn to see Infernum arrive on the scene within a minute's notice. Thus the demons tense up in fear upon seeing their master as Infernum himself looks upon the Kingdom, becoming impressed by their progress. And because of their hard work, he smirks in delight towards his demonic minions.

"Well done by far, fellow demons! I can see that you have all done a hell of a lot of work faster than I had anticipated myself. For the effort you all have done, I congratulate you upon your work", Infernum spoke just before the demons give out a sigh of relief. "However, it is time that I gather an army amongst some of you and begin our invasion of Uschtenheim", he continued while spotting a large group of loyal workers to his right waving to get his attention and smirks upon them.

"It is us who will serve you upon the attack of Uschtenheim, your majesty", the group of Demons chanted upon which Infernum grins at their enthusiasm.

"I can tell that they have done much of the work around this place", Infernum thought in his mind as he examined the demons closely. "I can also sense within them that they have a strong aura amongst them", he continued thinking as he draws closer towards the large group and grins towards them.

"We have done much of the work here, our lord, and we humbly ask that we join you upon your conquest to destroy Uschtenheim and eventually all of Nosgoth", the leading Demon pleaded calmly and loyally as Infernum simply grins at the demon with satisfaction.

"Indeed you are, but I must ask you all this", Infernum spoke as he clears his throat. "ARE YOU ALL SO BLOODTHIRSTY RIGHT NOW?! SO MUCH SO THAT YOU DESIRE TO KILL EVERY FUCKING THING YOU SEE AND BURN DOWN EVERY TOWN THAT LIES AMONGST OUR PATH", he shouted before placing his left hand-paw behind his left ear and turns his ear towards his demonic army.

"Sir, yes sir!" the large group of Demons chanted.

"What", Infernum spoke as he turned his head to the right while placing his left hand-paw behind his left ear again.

"Sir, yes sir!" the large group of Demons chanted louder.

"WHAT", Infernum spoke screamed while turning his head back to the right and placing his left hand-paw behind his ear once again.

"SIR, YES SIR!" the large group of Demons screamed in a chanting tone.

"THEN LET US DESTROY USCHTENHEIM AND ALL OF ITS PEOPLE FOR THE GLORY OF DARK EDEN", Infernum screamed chantingly as every demon screams cheerfully while beginning to chant his name.

As Infernum and his large demonic army fly towards the Western Industrialized Kingdom exit, the wolf demon himself turns to face his fellow legion of demon workers and bows before them. Thus the workers chant his name as he flies back into the sky with his army while looking upon the demons below him with a soft smirk on his face.

"Fellow demons of Dark Eden… Today, we trike upon Uschtenheim and devour the town of its luxuries and of its people. Tomorrow, we will strike the rest of the land and regain all that we have lost, and with this, we will be free from this wretched place and have total dominance over all of NOSGOTH", Infernum yelled as all of the demons cheer and chant before him.

"ALL HAIL LORD INFERNUM" all of the Demons chants in unison as they cheer him and his army on towards their crusade. Though the luxury of hearing is minions were pleasing, Infernum changes his expression from a pleasant to a more serious one, causing the chanting to stagnate within short notice.

"And for starters of our glorious crusade, it is best that the rest of you demons STOP HALF-ASSING AND GET BACK TO WORK WITH THE KINGDOM'S REPAIRS, RIGHT NOW", Infernum ordered loudly as the worker demons immediately get back to work with the reconstruction. With this done, Infernum and his large demon army journey towards the Dark Eden exit, upon which would be the start of his crusade.

A/N:

Alright, folks! It seems Travas and Umah managed to acquire the Soul Reaver from Avernus, despite the amount of trouble the couple went through just to get it.
