Chapter 24: Bloody Alopex

Dawn begins to approach upon the land of Nosgoth, allowing the people to awaken from their slumber. Some families, however, were already awake before the sun started rising from the east. One of those families happened to be the Broderick family, who had been packing some of their clothing. Soon, however, the gray anthromorphic vulpin father was dressed and had all of his belongings packed and ready to go. Then, his human wife enters their room, dressed in her black slim-fitting sleeveless neck strap dress with a diamond-shape cut on the stomach, though the bottom had been located slightly more than halfway above her knees.

"Johnny, have you seen my black leather heel boots anywhere?" The woman asked as she goes to the drawer and grabs a pair of long, black socks. At the same time, Johnny finishes tying his long fur matching hair back with a black ponytail; upon this it touches the back part of his neck. However, the only exception to this was that his bangs were left alone and leaned to the right side of his face.

"They should be inside the hall closet to your right, Alexia", Johnny answered as he puts on his Canine Astro Officer jacket, buttoning it up as Alexia looks inside the hall closet. And there, just behind their son's converse shoes, she discovers her boots and picks them up, taking them back into their room and sitting on the bed. "And what about Dylan, is he finished getting dressed", he asked while Alexia was putting on her socks.

"He already has his pants and shoes on. All he needs is his dress shirt and we should be ready to go", Alexia answered as she continues strapping on her leather boots. "Can you go check on him, hon", she asked as the gray vulpin nods and heads towards their son's room next door. When he enters, he notices that Dylan was tucking his cerulean blue shirt into his black slacks while grabbing his black leather belt. The toddler vulpin begins putting his belt through the loops just before he looks towards his father, who entered the room only a moment ago.

"Hey there, sport, do you have your stuff packed and ready to go", Johnny asked.

"Yes, Daddy, my bag is next to the dresser to your left", Dylan replied while Johnny looks to his left, seeing his bags there and goes to pick them up.

"That's my boy! I'll put your stuff next to the rest of the bags on the Living Room couch", Johnny spoke while heading out of the room and placing the bags where the gray vulpin said he would. Then he heads back to his room and sees his wife ready to go. "Well, I see that my lovely wife is looking gorgeous and ready to go", he spoke before wrapping his arms around her waist and kisses her ruby red lips, causing Alexia to wrap hers around his neck.

"Without a doubt there, stud. I was always wanting to go see Alopex after you told me all about it", Alexia replied as Johnny suddenly picks her up by her thighs, holding her as she gave a soft, high-pitched squeal before giggling. "Hehe, Johnny", she spoke while chuckling softly before kissing her vulpin husband again and wrapping her legs around his waist. But before their actions could continue any further, Johnny turns to see their son, who has his arms crossed and was tapping his left foot-paw in calm annoyance. Thus, Johnny set his wife down as their son looks upon them with narrow eyes.

"Sorry", the two parents spoke in unison as Dylan rolls his eyes before slightly grinning, chuckling softly as he heads for the Living Room.

"Ready to head out", Johnny asked.

"With pleasure, hon", Alexia answered as she kisses him before the two head to meet their child in the Living Room. Then, Alexia picks up their son as Johnny grabs all of their belongings with both of his hand-paws.

As the two walk outside, they head for their jeep and place their belongings in the back. Once finished, their son climbs onto the back seat booster with the assistance of his mother. Johnny starts the ignition as Alexia buckles their son in before going to the passenger's seat and buckling herself in. Then, the two drive from their home in Meridian and heads for the space jet located near the ruined Pillars of Nosgoth.

While the family continues to drive, the sun began to shine about halfway over the Eastern Mountains, providing more light upon Nosgoth. But when the couple arrives to Freeport, they decide to stop at a nearby Diner for breakfast, parking it in front of the entrance and entering inside. After entering, they were seated by a few waiters near the booth closest to the door, ordering their meals after being seated. Within a matter of twenty minutes of talking, their meals arrive and the family immediately begins eating, filing themselves before their departure from Nosgoth.

After some time passes, Johnny pays the bill as Alexia takes their son to the Jeep outside. There, she buckles Dylan in his seat again, with her husband arriving after she enters the Jeep and buckles herself in. Johnny immediately starts the engine after buckling himself in and continues to drive towards the ruined Pillars. While driving, they continue to follow the path as they see the Citadel within the distance before turning on the road leading to their destination.

Upon the moment they arrived, the gray vulpin parks the jeep behind the ruined Pillar of Nature, taking their belongings with them as Johnny presses the button on his watch. In a moment, the ship's invisible cloaking device deactivates, revealing its stainless steel design as it shines upon the rising sun. Then, the couple begins to pack their belongings in the left back-side compartment.

Within a few minutes of loading their belongings, the family finally finishes and begins to enter the Space Jet. But just a second after the doors were opened, Johnny began hearing the sounds of a motorcycle coming towards them. He instantly turns around to investigate closely as the driver and his passenger parks the motorcycle within a small distance from them. When the two figures got closer, he notices that it was Travas and Umah approaching from the motorcycle they parked.

When they arrive, the vampuric couple notices that he was dressed in his blue Canine Astro Officer jacket with golden-yellow printed wrists, left upper arm, shoulder stitching, and shoulders with black leather fingerless gloves on his hand-paws. His medals were on the left side of his chest as his name tag was on the right side. The gray vulpin's fur-matching hair, with the exception of his long bangs leaning to the right side of his face, has been tied back in a black ponytail. He also wore a pair of black skintight jeans with his Solarfox Strikeforce belt put through the loops of his pants. Lastly, the gray vulpin's motorcycle boots were tucked into his jean leg openings.

While he was dressed in mixed military clothing, they noticed that his family was dressed in their more favored professional attire. Alexia herself was wearing a black slim fitting neck strap dress with a diamond-shape cut on the stomach and the bottom part reaching slightly more than halfway above her knees. She had also worn a pair of black leather heel boots to match her dressing style. Their toddler son, Dylan, was dressed in a cerulean blue collar shirt tucked into his black slacks. To match with his uniform, the toddler vulpin wore his black leather shoes to cover his feet-paws. Thus, Travas and Umah look upon them curiously after they parked the motorcycle within ten feet from them and greet the family.

"Dressed in your Canine Astro Officer uniform, I see", Travas asked as he smirks towards his childhood friend.

"Yep, that seems to be the case, Travas", Johnny answered while rubbing the back of his head and smiling nervously. "It seems that I was invited to the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball they're having on Alopex. Plus the good old general wouldn't stop bragging about me attending, so I decided to go while taking my family with me to see Alopex for the first time", he explained.

"Of course, you know my old man well, Johnny. He tends to keep a close eye on you regardless if you're there or not", Travas joked while the two softly chuckled together.

"Without a doubt there, buddy", Johnny replied while he stopped chuckling after a short moment. "Well, my family and I have to get going. I'll 'whisper' you guys when we get back, alright", he spoke as Travas and Umah nod. Then, the couple gave him and his family a hug as they start getting onto the ship. With the Space Jet ignition started, Travas and Umah head for the Motorcycle as the family set off towards their next destination: Alopex.

*In Veron Opus, Alopex*

Among the city of Veron Opus, Alopex, many of its residents and military officers gather around the Academy Auditorium and start making preparations for the upcoming Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball later that day. At the same time, the military oriented Starfox family arrive back home and begin preparing for the party themselves. Almost immediately after entering their home, Victoria sends her kits upstairs to change into something more formal. In a similar manner, she and her beloved mate, Travas Sr., head for their room and change into something more appropriate for the upcoming event.

After about a few minutes, Travas Sr. and Victoria finish getting dressed as they head downstairs, waiting for their kits to finish getting ready. Victoria was wearing a black conservative knee-length dress along with her black leather low heel boots with the toes being exposed. She also wore a dark gray denim jacket, covering her dress and contained some of her medals and name tag on it. On the other hand, Travas Sr. merely wore his General status Solarfox Strikeforce uniform with a few extra medals he had recently received, placed to the right side of his jacket.

Then within a minute after the grownups enter the living room, Erica and Scarlet come down professionally dressed as well. Scarlet was wearing a pair of black slacks and brown leather low heels shoes. The vixen child also wore a purple dress T-shirt tucked her slacks, keeping them held by a brown leather belt. Erica, on the other hand, wore a sky blue dress shirt tucked into her black slacks. The younger kit also wore a pair of black leather low heel shoes with her toes exposed, allowing them to freely move about when desired.

Upon arrival to the living room, the kits' parents look down towards them as Travas Sr. grabs the keys to the hover car. The family leaves the living room through the upstairs door and heads for their black Dodge Challenger hover car parked at their drive way. Then, General Travas Sr. presses the button on the keys to unlock the doors, allowing the family to enter the car with Victoria in the front passenger's seat and her mate sitting on the driver's side.

"Alrighty, kiddos… I expect you to be on your best behavior while we're at the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball. Otherwise we'll not be taking either of you to the Ice Cream Shop downtown on Saturday. Am I understood", Travas Sr. spoke calmly while slightly narrowing his eyes upon the kits, causing them to gulp and nod in response. Thus, the general turns around and faces the windshield before turning the ignition on the hover car. The general then turns to the back windshield as he places the hover car on reverse, backing out onto the road before them. With the family facing the direction of the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball, the general presses on the gas and takes his family towards their next destination.

*Somewhere in Outer Space*

A short while after the Broderick family took off into the depths of Outer Space, Alexia and Dylan look through the window with amazement in their eyes. And for the first time, they saw the beauty of travelling beyond planet Earth and witnessing the universe for themselves. The only thing that Johnny could do in that moment, however, was pilot the Jet and smile at their amazed gestures.

"Wow… I've always looked upon the stars above while I was growing up. But I've never seen such beauty beyond Earth until this day", Alexia claimed while Johnny puts the Jet on autopilot and looks towards his family.

"No doubt about that, hon", Johnny replied before turning to face his son. "Dylan, can you turn and face me please? There's something I need to tell you both before we activate the Hyper Drive System that will take us to Alopex", he asked as Dylan instantly turns to face his father.

"Yes, Daddy", the toddler vulpin asked curiously as Alexia also turns to face him.

"What is it, hon", Alexia also asked just as Johnny's expression became calmly serious.

"The two of you are aware that Travas had died on Alopex a week before Janos resurrected him as a living vampire, correct", Johnny spoke as the two passengers answer by nodding.

"Yes", Alexia and Dylan answered in unison, causing Johnny to nod in confirmation.

"Alright, I wanted to make sure. Why I asked about it is because that you both know him well on Nosgoth. However, I'm also saying is that his parents and siblings are on Alopex and will possibly be attending the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball we're headed to", Johnny explained as the two look at him curiously.

"What are you trying to say, Johnny", Alexia asked.

"What I'm trying to say is that the both of you need to pretend that you've never met Travas while we're on Alopex, otherwise it may draw some unwanted attention from his family, the authorities, and possibly the press", Johnny answered, causing the two passengers to nod in understanding. "If either his parents or siblings ask you anything about Travas, just tell them that you only know about him from my stories and nothing more, okay", the gray vulpin continued as the two nod in agreement.

"We understand", Alexia spoke just before she turned to face their son. "Do you hear that, Dylan, we must pretend that we never knew him except by the stories your father told us about, okay", she spoke.

"Okie doke, Mommy", Dylan replied before turning to face the window once again, looking upon the depths of Outer Space once again. Then, Johnny looks upon his family as he places his left hand-paw on the switch that activates the Hyper Drive System.

"We're about to go into Hyper Space shorty, so buckle up and get ready", Johnny spoke as Alexia buckles their son in before buckling herself. Thus, the gray vulpin looks towards the front and tightens the grip on the switch. "Alright, going into Hyper Drive in three… two… one… Now!" he calmly exclaimed, immediately pushing the switch towards the front, activating the Hyper Drive as the ship immediately heads into Hyperspace, taking them towards their destination with incredible speed.

In Hyperspace, the family notices that the stars became vast amounts of white lines passing by them, causing Alexia and Dylan to look upon them in sheer amazement. Then within a minute, the jet begins to slow down to normal speed as the family arrives to the Alopex Space Station. To Alexia and Dylan, their eyes widen in surprising amazement as the two bestow upon Alopex for the first time, seeing the battle top shape and metallic, intergalactic architecture it contained.

"Wow… this is Alopex?!" Alexia asked while smiling with amazement. "I've never beheld upon such a place in my entire life until this very moment", she continued.

"Wow… Daddy, it's beautiful", Dylan said with wide eyes and a smile on his face.

"That it is, son", Johnny replied. "Alright, we're pulling in to the Main Hangar right now. Stay in your seats until we land", he ordered while flying towards the Main Hangar at a moderate speed.

When the family gets close enough to the entrance, the hatch doors begin to open. Thus allowing the stainless steel jet to pass through the opening and land before the platform. When the gates shut, the family exits their ship and unlocks the left back-side compartment. But after they gather their belongings and shut the compartment door, two other vulpin officers arrive to greet the family. In that moment, Johnny recognizes the two officers as Sgt. Reese and Sgt. Kennedy, upon which they also recognize the gray vulpin as a fellow student peer of theirs.

"Hey, if it isn't our friend from the old days at the Academy, Sgt. Johnny Broderick.", Sgt. Reese spoke while walking towards the gray vulpin with a smirk on his face.

"How has it been, buddy", Sgt. Kennedy asked while hugging his former Academy peer as Johnny did with him.

"I've been surviving over these past four cycles, and I see that two of Alopex's finest sergeants missed me", Johnny answered while hugging the two sergeants. "What about you guys, how have ya'll been doing since I was gone", he asked.

"Nothing much has changed since you've left, but it's still great to see you again, pal", Sgt. Reese said before noticing the two people behind him, unknown to them that it was Johnny's family. "By the way, who's the human lady and the vulpin child she's holding", he asked as Johnny turns to face his family, with Alexia holding onto their son in her arms.

"And when did you start baby-sitting all of the sudden", Sgt. Kennedy asked jokingly at the moment Johnny wraps his right arm around his human wife's waist.

"Actually, this is my wife, Alexia", Johnny answered before looking at Sgt. Kennedy. "As for the kit, this is my son, Dylan", he finished, causing both sergeants' eyes to shoot wide open and their jaws to drop in shock, looking upon them and at each other back and forth.

"What…!? Since when in the kenal did you become a father", both sergeants shouted simultaneously.

"I've been one for a few cycles now, and believe me on this, despite the hard work, it's worth being one", Johnny spoke with a smile on his muzzle as the two sergeants, though still shocked about what they have just witnessed, soften their expressions and slightly smile upon him. "Anyways, where's the S.S. Military Ball supposed to be held at", he asked.

"The Ball is being held in the auditorium at the Academy this year", Sgt. Reese answered, with Johnny looking at him in a confused manner. "I have a feeling about what you're thinking about. Usually we have it at the stadium, but since it's being repaired at this time, it's the only place that's available to hold the ball at", he explained.

"Now that you've arrived, along with your new family of course, follow us to the cab and we'll head to the Academy right away", Sgt. Kennedy spoke as he and Sgt. Reese lead Johnny and his family towards the hover cab waiting outside. From there, they can celebrate the success that the Solarfox Strikeforce has done over the years so far.

*Somewhere within the Underground Routes*

In the streets of Veron Opus, many of the city's residents celebrate all that the Solarfox Strikeforce has done over the years since its formation. Though the chants of its people are heard above, growls of anger and resentment are heard in the Underground Routes below. But the ones that resented the celebration the most were two silver vulpin civilians well within their mid-twenties. To prove this, they have been packing various kinds of fully-automatic weapons ranging from plasma assault rifles to traditional ones like the AK-47 and the M4A1 assault rifle. Other weapons they possessed were ones like the Spaz-12 semi-automatic shotguns, .50 Caliber Desert Eagle pistols, grenades, and various 9mm handguns.

"David, what makes of the Solarfox Strikeforce at this time", the first silver vulpin asked while loading some NATO 5.56mm rounds inside one of the M4A1 clips.

"It seems that they're heading to the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball as we speak, Marcus", David replied after cocking one of the Spaz-12 semi-automatic shotguns and placing it behind his back. "Now then, is it time that we depart from this place and confront the Solarfox Strikeforce, the ones that wrongfully discharged us from the force nearly five cycles ago?" he asked as Marcus loads the magazine onto the M4A1 assault rifle.

"Yes, it's time that we finally confront them face to face. But let us take our sweet time there, for revenge is the sweetest when savored for the right moment", Marcus claimed while loading some of the weapons in the duffle bad next to him.

"Without a doubt there, buddy", David replied while picking up his duffle bag. "Now, let us depart from this place and commence our rightful revenge at once", he continued while the two silver vulpins pick up the remainder of their packed items and head out of the room almost hastily. Thus, the two immediately set their sights for the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball, upon which their 'rightful' revenge shall initiate.

*Within the Surface, Nearby the Academy*

While the morning continues to progress towards the afternoon, the vulpin cab driver continues to drive the two sergeants and the Broderick family towards the Academy with haste, regardless of the traffic they currently face. In order to help pass the time, the Broderick family merely looks around the city with its technological advances. Alexia and Dylan were amazed by the sight while Johnny became impressed on how much had improved within a short period of time since his departure to Nosgoth. Then after a long thirty minute drive through traffic, they finally arrive to their destination, getting out of the cab as Sgt. Reese pays the cab fee for the ride.

"Alrighty then, shall we enter", Sgt. Kennedy asked as the family nods in response. Thus, he and Sgt. Reese lead them to the main entrance of the Academy itself.

Upon the moment they enter the Academy, Alexia and Dylan look at the interior with amazement, seeing large amounts of Vulpin officers similarly dressed like Johnny himself, with the exception of the others wearing blue slacks instead of black skintight jeans. Soon, they make it to the register as Sgt. Reese, Sgt. Kennedy, and Johnny sign in. Afterwards, all of them headed towards the left hallway, leading to the auditorium in which the ball would be held. Upon entry, Alexia and Dylan look upon the interior, seeing that the ceiling was about thirty meters in height, fifty meters long, and sixty-five meters wide. From there, both the Broderick family and the two sergeants went their separate ways as Johnny found an empty circular table just within twenty-five feet north-east of the auditorium entrance.

"Johnny, this place is wonderful… and this was where you attended school before making residence at Nosgoth", Alexia asked while looking upon the place.

"Yep, the very same one Travas and I attended before my expedition. Oh, and welcome to Alopex, hon", Johnny answered as he places a gentle kiss on Alexia's lips. "Shall I acquire us some food or drinks at the bar", he asked, with Dylan eagerly nodding in response to the smell.

"Hehe, is our son hungry for some lunch at this hour", Alexia spoke while smiling at Dylan, seeing him nodding eagerly along with his tail happily wagging.

"Yes, Mommy", Dylan spoke happily while pointing to the pizza at the bar. "Can I have some of the pizza over there, Daddy?! Please, please, please", he pleaded eagerly, causing his parents to chuckle upon his eagerness.

"Heh, heh, sure thing, sport, I'll go fetch us some drinks and pizzas. I'll be right back", Johnny spoke while turning around and began walking towards where the bar was.

Upon arriving to the bar, he grabs an extra-large sized plate and began to put at least three large pizza slices on there. The first slice being meat-lovers, the second being four-cheese, and the third being a veggie-pepperoni mix. Then, the gray vulpin grabs two bottles of water for him and his wife and a bottle of apple juice for his son. Once he got the plate full of food and drinks, the gray vulpin starts walking towards his family at the table they settled in.

At the entrance of the Auditorium, the Starfox family enters inside to see vast numbers of vulpin officers and other military officials inside. Victoria began to look around for a free table inside while Travas Sr. walks to the bar and grab him, his wife, and the kits some food. Unfortunately, there have been no tables nearby in which they were located at.

"Scarlet, hon, can you look around and see if there's any tables nearby", Victoria asked while looking upon the direction north-west of the Auditorium entrance.

"Sure thing, mother", Scarlet answered as she starts to look upon the direction north-east of the Auditorium entrance. While looking, however, she notices a tall, gray vulpin about the same height as her 'deceased' brother, wearing a Canine Astro Officer jacket and black skintight jeans. But seeing his purple eyes, long fur-matching hair, and fur pattern were distinct enough as it was, she recognizes him and begins pulling on her mother's denim jacket. Thus, Victoria looks towards her daughter as she continues to constantly tug onto her denim jacket.

"What is it, Scarlet", Victoria asked.

"Mother, look", Scarlet exclaimed while pointing towards the gray vulpin. "It's Johnny", she answered as Victoria looked upon the gray vulpin curiously. Then her eyes widened upon recognizing him as Travas' kithood friend, Johnny Broderick.

"By the maker, that is Johnny", Victoria said as Travas returned with a plate full of pizza, fruit, veggies, bottled water and orange juice. Then, he looks at his wife curiously before she turns to face him.

"What is it, hon", Travas Sr. asked as Victoria pointed towards the gray vulpin, who had just sat down at his seat in the circular table with his family.

"Travas, its Johnny Broderick. He's back from his expedition", Victoria claimed, causing her mate looks towards the gray vulpin, recognizing him as well. "Shall we go talk to him and see how he's doing", she asked.

"Sure thing, hon", Travas Sr. answered as the Starfox family starts walking towards the gray vulpin and his 'guests' at the table. Then within a few moments, Travas Sr. taps on Johnny's right shoulder, causing him to turn around to see the general smiling upon him.

"Well if it isn't the great General Starfox and his beloved family", Johnny greeted while smiling and hugging each member of the family. "How's it been going with you guys", he asked.

"Well, we've been doing better over the past four cycles, though we've had a bit of trouble here and there", Victoria answered. "What about you? How's life been treating you since you left on your expedition", she asked.

"Practically the same as yours, but with the troubles being more unrealistic and not to mention extreme", Johnny answered, causing the general to stare at him in a confused manner.

"How so", Travas Sr. asked curiously, causing Johnny to look towards him.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you", Johnny replied as Victoria and the kits stare at his two guests. But within a moment, the motherly vixen shifts her sights towards Johnny and approaches him.

"Pardon me, Johnny, but I am curious about something. Who are your guests", Victoria asked once again before shifting her sights towards the two guests with curious eyes.

"And when did you start babysitting all of the sudden, Johnny", Scarlet also asked curiously, but slightly jokingly as well, looking upon him as Erica stares at the human female and the gray vulpin cub. However, Victoria began to slowly put the pieces together between Johnny and the vulpin kit that the human woman was holding.

"Actually, this is my wife and son", Johnny answered, confirming Victoria's suspicions as she and her mate, Travas Sr. suddenly gaze at him with eyes shot wide open and jaws dropped.

"Your wife… and son?!" was all that both Victoria and Travas Sr. could muster while shifting their sights between each other and at the family back and forth. Then Alexia takes a deep breath and began to approach the two shocked vulpins with a greeting gesture.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both. My name is Alexia, and this is our son, Dylan", Alexia greeted calmly while smiling softly and offering her hand to shake. Though both vulpin parents were still shocked about the news, they both shake her hand and begin to soften their expressions somewhat.

"It's a pleasure to meet you and your son, Mrs. Broderick. I'm Victoria Starfox, and this is my husband, Travas, and kits, Scarlet and Erica", Victoria replied while hugging the human woman and her vulpin child. Then, Johnny grabs a few more chairs for the Starfox family, allowing them to sit comfortably and eat their fresh food. While eating, Alexia looks around the Auditorium to see some of the vulpin attendants look at her in an odd manner. Johnny quickly notices this and turns to his wife with curiously concerned expression on his face.

"Is everything alright, hon", Johnny asked as his wife looks towards his purple eyes.

"Yes… just a little unsettled by the other people staring at me in an odd manner…" Alexia answered. "Then again, I can understand their curiosity", Alexia answered.

"It's no surprise about the others looking at you in a curious manner, Alexia", Victoria replied. "After all, you are the second human that had ever visited Alopex", she claimed as the human mother looks at her in a curious manner.

"Wait… you mean there was another human that came here before?" Alexia asked curiously.

"To answer your question, Alexia, there was another human by the name of Miles Sullivan that came here before you stepped foot on Alopex", Victoria answered, causing Alexia to recognize the name as soon as she heard it.

"Oh! I recognize that name. He's the leader of a group of warriors that have sworn to protect the people of Nosgoth from the vampuric and demonic purge known as the Sarafan", Alexia explained before Scarlet looks at the human woman oddly.

"Vampires… Demons…? Really", Scarlet asked rather sarcastically while raising a brow. "I don't mean to be rude, but I don't believe a damn word you've just said, Mrs. Broderick", she said calmly as Victoria and Travas Sr. looked at the young vixen with serious, furious eyes.

"Scarlet, watch your mouth!" Victoria calmly exclaimed with seriousness in her tone while Travas Sr. firmly grabs the young vixen's right arm.

"Scarlet, you and I need to have a few words about that potty mouth of yours outside, and I mean right now!" Travas Sr. spoke firmly before taking her to the hallways at the entrance as Victoria turns to face Alexia.

"I'm so sorry about Scarlet's use of inappropriate language, Mrs. Broderick. We've been having this problem for quite some time after our son, Travas, was killed by three felin thugs four cycles ago", Victoria explained as Alexia, though has recognized, nodded as if she never knew him.

"I see…" Alexia replied. "My husband had told me his memories about him during his days at the Academy sometime while I was pregnant with our son", she explained while looking down at her son, smiling as she watches him finish the slice of four-cheese pizza and drink some of the apple juice. "And believe me; giving birth to Dylan was one of the most precious things that has happened to both of our lives", she continued as her son looks at her and smiles. Like Dylan, Victoria couldn't help but smile upon them both, remembering the old days when she had her son, Travas. But when her eyes start to become watery, almost filling with tears, she wipes them away as Travas Sr. returns to the table with a saddened Scarlet sitting next to her younger sibling as the lights began to dim.

"It seems the award ceremony is about to begin", Travas Sr. said after taking a seat and looking towards the stage, where a male arctic vulpin in his late-thirties steps up to the microphone and clears his throat.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Solarfox Strikeforce Military Ball. And today, we celebrate on behalf of the hard work that our finest officers have committed over the cycles", the speaker spoke while the audience looks upon him proudly. "It is that, with our best interests, that we commence with the Awards Ceremony at once", he continued as one of the assistants gave him about seven envelopes

After he had acquired the envelopes, the speaker places them onto the music stand next to him. While he began to look upon whose to open first, a sense of uneasiness began to creep within Alexia's body as if something was about to go wrong. Though concerned, she swept it off of her and continued to look upon the announcer with a soft smile on her face.

"To start off with the ceremony, I would like to announce one of our most beloved, young officers of the Solarfox Strikeforce. Though some of us may have known him as the guy who defies many of the Academy's expectations, we also knew him as one who recently went on an expedition to journey across the universe", the speaker started before shifting his sights towards the gray vulpin and the human woman and grinning at them. "And telling by that gorgeous lady he has over there, I'd say that he's gone on quite the expedition", he said before a few of the male vulpin officers give the whistle towards the fine human mother, causing Johnny to blush as well when he heard the announcer say that just now. "Anyways, let's give it up for one of the Academy's finest officers, Johnny Broderick", he continued while pointing the light towards Johnny, causing the others to cheer on behalf of his favor.

In that moment, Johnny rises from his seat and kisses his wife's cheek before walking towards the stage. But when he gets to the small set of stairs, Alexia, for some unknown reason, begins to feel an unsettling feeling resonating within her. Then for some odd reason, she looked towards the entrance of the Auditorium to see two armed silver vulpins. Almost immediately, she stands up and looks towards her husband as the two gunmen cock their weapons and aim towards the gray vulpin. Likewise, Travas Sr. draws his laser pistol from its case and aims it towards the approaching gunmen themselves.

"JOHNNY, GET DOWN", Alexia screamed as Johnny instantly looks towards his wife, allowing the first silver vulpin to take this opportunity to open fire at him. He also causes the others to panic and find a place to escape. Luckily, however, the speaker manages to shove the gray vulpin off stage, taking the first shot instead of Johnny. Unfortunately, however, he was killed when the bullet pierced through the arctic vulpin's head. The gray vulpin lands on top of a nearby table and immediately sprints towards his family as the two gunmen begin firing towards many of the vulpin attendees there. Alexia and the Starfox Family, on the other hand, immediately start making barricades out of the surrounding tables nearby.

As soon as Johnny jumps over the barricade and reunites with his family, he pulls out his Glock-18 pistol and begins firing at the two gunmen. Then suddenly, one of them throws a grenade at some of the vulpin attendees nearby, exploding within a few moments after it hits the ground. The explosion itself blows off the limbs of about seven people, killing them almost immediately as their blasted body parts land on the floor. This enraged both Travas Sr. and the other officers in the area as they continue to fire upon the deranged gunmen. But when Johnny looks at them closely, his eyes shoot wide open upon recognition.

"General Travas, that's David and Marcus", Johnny shouted, causing David to fire towards him as he got down, managing to avoid being shot.

"What!" Travas Sr. exclaimed. "How the kenal did these two get in possession of these weapons?"

"I'm not sure, General… but we have to stop them at all costs", Johnny shouted while firing shots at the two gunmen. Suddenly, Marcus grabs the Spaz-12 Shotgun hanging behind him and immediately starts firing shots towards the crowd, injuring three people and killing two others that were roughly around the age of twelve and fourteen.

"NOOOOOOO", the mother of the two murdered vulpin kits screamed as she runs towards their lifeless bodies, collapsing onto her knees and holding her deceased children. She instantly looks towards the two gunmen with pure hatred as tears stream down the vixen's face. "You bastards… YOU BASTARDS! YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" the vixen screamed furiously as she grabs a nearby chair and darts toward them like an athlete in a triathlon, setting her sights for revenge. But before she could strike at any of them, one of the gunmen aims his Spaz-12 at the vixen, pulling the trigger and blasting her head right off. The newly deceased vixen immediately collapses onto the ground as her blood and brain matter flows upon the floor like a flood consuming a recently dug trench.

Within the Barricade, Victoria holds onto her two kits tightly while Alexia does the same with Dylan. Suddenly, seven more Canine Astro Officers burst through the windows merely to bestow upon the bloody scene with shock and horror. They turn to face the ones responsible for the bloody massacre they now witness, recognizing them as their former officers in the Solarfox Strikeforce.

"Why… Why are you doing this", the leading Canine Astro Officer shouted, causing the two gunmen to look upon him with hatred filled eyes.

"It was justice… justice for the wrongful discharge from the force!" David shouted with pure hatred while reloading his weapon.

"You both were discharged as a result from you both firebombing the theater and killing fifty civilians five cycles ago", the Leading Canine Astro Officer yelled while aiming his laser pistol towards the gunmen. But before he was able to open fire, Marcus immediately grabs his M4A1 assault rifle and fires towards the vulpin, hitting him in the shoulders and a few other parts of his torso, killing him within a few second's notice. Then the same gunman turns his sights on the remaining officers in the deceased vulpin's fleet as David switches weapons before firing towards the two families barricaded behind the tables with his fully-automatic plasma rifle.

"Damnit, what the hell are we gonna do with these two?!" Johnny yelled angrily "They're practically armed with just about everything", he continued while firing shots towards the gunmen and avoiding their fire.

"We have to do the best we can to ensure no one else gets killed", Travas Sr. replied while shooting his laser pistol upon the gunmen, who merely dodge his firepower with ease. Then, David turns around and fires upon the remaining survivors of the leading Canine Astro Officer's unit, killing four of them as Marcus injures the other two. But while the gunmen were reloading their weapons, the injured Officers crawl towards the barricade as Victoria looks upon them before turning to her kits.

"Scarlet, Erica, go to Mrs. Broderick and stay with her", Victoria ordered as Erica and Scarlet do what they were told. Then she begins to slightly move towards the closest exit before looking at her mate, getting his attention almost immediately. "Travas!" she exclaimed.

"What is it", Travas asked while opening fire against the gunmen.

"I need you to cover me while I go get the two surviving Officers", Victoria spoke as she runs towards them with hast, causing shock amongst the entire group. As the injured Officers draw closer, Victoria grabs them both by the back of their shirt collars carefully, yet hastily and starts dragging them towards the Barricade. But when she got close, all of the sudden, Marcus aims his M4A1 Assault Rifle towards the vixen and opens fire. Although many bullets were fired, one of the shots manages to strike Victoria's upper part of her right arm, causing the motherly vixen to scream out in pain.

"MOTHER!" both Erica and Scarlet screamed while attempting to run towards their mother, but Alexia stops them before they were able to leave the Barricade.

"Kids, stay here! The last thing we need right now is having all of you hurt or killed", Alexia yelled while Johnny and Travas Sr. sprint towards Victoria and helps her carry the two injured Officers into the Barricade. While Travas Sr. continues firing upon the gunmen, Johnny begins searching his bag for ammo and medical supplies for the injured people. Though he only finds one clip left, he also manages to find enough medical supplies to treat both Victoria and the two Officers.

"Alexia, can you take care of the injured and tend to their wounds while the general and I continue firing rounds at the gunmen?!" Johnny urgently asked as Alexia nods and gets to work, treating one person at a time while Scarlet, Erica, and Dylan stand next to Victoria's side the whole time. Almost immediately, Travas Sr. and Johnny fire multiple shots towards Marcus, upon which the bullets strikes his torso and head. Thus, the silver vulpin collapses onto the floor as a lifeless body, causing David to look upon his companion in shock before turning towards them in anger.

"URGH, YOU FOOLS! YOU MURDERED MY LONGTIME COMPANION AND CLOSE FRIEND! NOW YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE", David screamed, immediately picking up an AK-47 with his right hand-paw and holds the fully-automatic Plasma Rifle with the other. Immediately, he begins firing shots at them endlessly while Johnny and Travas Sr. instantly duck in response to the vulpin's rampage. When the gunfire ceased, Johnny and Travas Sr. take this chance to fire upon the gunman, pulling the trigger only to discover that they both ran out of the very thing they needed the most.

"Shit! We're out of ammo", Johnny cursed while throwing his gun down in frustration. Then he turns to both injured officer and desperately approaches them. "Do any of you guys have any ammo the general and I could use", the gray vulpin asked urgently before both officers shake their heads.

"If we did, then we would've given it to you. But unfortunately, we ran out while shooting at the gunmen earlier", the first surviving Officer spoke just as he begins to cough up a bit of blood in the process, causing the kits to look upon this with shock and disgust.

"God Damnit", Johnny cursed to himself yet again as he looked upon both his family and the Starfox family with concern. In that moment, Dylan runs to her mother's side and holds onto her right arm in a frightened manner.

"Mommy, Daddy, what are we gonna do?" Dylan asked urgently while sobbing and holding onto his Mother's right arm. Immediately, Alexia holds her child dearly with both arms and gently pats the back of his head, hoping to help him find comfort with what was going on around them. Though the silver vulpin continues to fire upon the now-closed Barricade, something begins to brew within Johnny's mind, though whatever it was also happened to be a gamble on his freedom… or his life for that matter. With his mind made up, he begins to summon forth a red sphere of energy within the palm of his right hand-paw as the Starfox family and the injured Officer looks upon him curiously.

"Well, I know that I might end up getting into serious trouble for this… but it seems that we've run out of options", Johnny spoke softly as Alexia and Dylan suddenly recognize what the deadly red sphere of energy was.

"Oh no", Dylan spoke as he buries his face into his mother's right shoulder.

"Oh my God, Johnny, don't tell me you're summoning up a flay projectile!" Alexia yelled with a horrified tone while holding onto her child.

"I know I'm not fond of this nasty technique, but it seems that it's the only option we have left if we want to stop the last gunman once and for all", Johnny replied calmly as the other vulpins within the Barricade look towards Alexia curiously as she turns to face them.

"Wait… what's a flay projectile", Victoria asked oddly, yet worryingly as she notices the horrified expression that Alexia contains on her face.

"I can't explain right now, Mrs. Starfox", Alexia replied as she turns and notices her husband finalizing the attack, turning back to face the motherly vixen with a serious, horrified expression. "Victoria, cover your children's eyes, now", she ordered in a horrified tone, causing Victoria to immediately perform the task she was urgently told to do.

Then upon short notice, Travas Sr. places a firm grip upon one of the table legs and prepared to lift it off. On the moment that David runs out of ammo on the clip, he begins digging into his pockets for another one as the table was thrown to the side. Thus, he was caught by surprise when he notices the red energy sphere hovering over Johnny's right hand-paw.

"What… What the kenal is that thing?!" David shouted as Johnny pulls his arm back and prepares to throw it at the surviving gunman.

"It's the weapon that's about to end your fucking life! TAKE THIS", Johnny shouted back before hurling the energy sphere towards the silver vulpin. But when David tries to dodge the oncoming attack, the sphere suddenly hits his body with full force, stripping him of the furred flesh and clothing from blood-stained bone.

At the moment the bloody bones land on the floor, the injured Officers, Travas Sr. and Victoria look upon the bloody sight with shocked, horrified eyes. But within a moment, their eyes shifts focus on Johnny himself, in which he sighs in a mix of frustration and relief before turning to see their expressions. At the same time, the other survivors within the area begin looking at the pile of bloody bones with a similar expression to that of the barricaded group of people. Though a few people were relieved to see the gunmen dead, they began to mumble questions regarding how Johnny was able to perform such a trick.

"Johnny… what did you do?!" Victoria asked softly, but shockingly just as she turns her sights to the second gunman's blood-stained bones. Then, Alexia placed her left hand on the vixen's right shoulder, causing Victoria to turn and face her.

"The weapon that he summoned forth was an energetic projectile known as flay. This attack, when it comes into contact with the target, kills the warrior's enemies by removing ragged flesh from blood-stained bone", Alexia explained, sending waves of confusion to the vixen.

"But… how is that possible", Victoria asked in a confused, yet horrified manner.

"I do not have the right explanation on the energy's properties… but all I can say is that, according to folklore, many demons and vampires have used such a battle artifact for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years to kill their enemies in an instant", Alexia explained further while Victoria thought about the information she had just heard. But before the vixen could speak, the authorities arrive upon the bloodied scene to see about fifteen civilians brutally murdered and six others wounded. Then, an entirely orange colored vulpin with black ears, forearms, a black eye patch over his left eye, a pair of green camouflage pants, black tank top, and black combat boots enters and looks upon the horrific sight.

"Alright, will someone care to explain what the kenal happened here?!" the orange vulpin asked with a serious tone, with many looking upon Johnny himself. However, the gray vulpin knew who the orange fox was and recognized him from the reports from a war that occurred not too long ago.

"Well, it is isn't Sgt. Arthur J. Greystroke himself, the one that fought in the old species war not too long ago in Alden's and the Alopex Space Station's history", Johnny spoke, catching the attention of Greystroke himself.

"And I assume that you must be Johnny Broderick, the one who left on an expedition to explore the universe over four cycles ago", Sgt. Greystroke replied. "Now since you happen to be the kind that likes to talk, how about you tell me who started this shooting", he demanded while crossing his arms and looking at him with serious eyes.

"Sure, 'Sgt.' Greystroke", Johnny mocked. "Though it's obvious about what happened, it seems that David and Marcus, the ones that were discharged from the force, had recently taken revenge against some of the members of the Solarfox Strikeforce. In fact, fifteen people were killed and six others were wounded, including Victoria Starfox herself", he explained while looking upon the bodies and those who were injured.

"I see, and what makes of those two anyways", Sgt. Greystroke asked in a calm, serious tone.

"To answer that, Marcus had been shot and killed by General Travas and I", Johnny explained as he sighs in frustration. Then he looks upon the remains of David himself. "As for David, well… you can see his blood-stained skeleton right next to his buddy over there", he explained while pointing towards David's bloodied skeleton, causing the sergeant to look upon the bones with a calm sense of horror before looking back at the grey vulpin with more seriousness in his eyes.

"And how was it that David ended up as a bloodied skeleton", Sgt. Greystroke asked suspiciously and with seriousness in his tone.

"Would you honestly believe me if I told you the artifact I used was responsible for this bloodied skeletal mess", Johnny asked with a serious tone. "Or would you simply just write this off as 'a vulpin who used his bare claws to mutilate the gunman's body down to the bone' or however you see fit", he continued, seeing the sergeant become angered by his actions.

"Johnny, don't you dare try fucking with me! A serious shootout just took place and I'm taking serious action in the case", Sgt. Greystroke shouted while pointing the finger at him. "As for starters, I'm placing you under arrest for misconduct against a government agent in the Alden Solarfox division and withholding evidence from us", he continued as his unit quickly aim their weapons towards the gray vulpin. Then, Alexia hands her son to Victoria and immediately gets between her husband and the approaching unit.

"Hey! If it wasn't for my husband killing David, then more innocent lives could have been murdered, possibly even us and your unit! Can't you just give him a break?" Alexis spoke as Sgt. Greystroke starts approaching the human woman and growling at her in anger.

"You stay out of this, you vile woman", Sgt. Greystroke shouted as he grabs her arm, but Johnny manages to release the agent's grip on his wife and punches him fiercely in the face, knocking him down to the floor.

"HEY, YOU KEEP YOUR GOD DAMN HAND-PAWS OFF OF-", this was all Johnny could speak until one of the members in Greystroke's unit shoots his back with a taser gun, knocking him down to the floor and causing him to shake violently.

"DADDY", Dylan screamed as he began sobbing and burying his face into Victoria's shoulders.

"Greystroke, I'm ordering you to unhand Johnny at once", Travas Sr. ordered angrily as Sgt. Greystroke gets back up onto his feet-paws, shook his head and began chuckling.

"With all due respect, General Starfox, I cannot do that", Sgt. Greystroke said. "Though I understand your rank in the military, in this case, you do not have any say in the matter whatsoever since I had been sent here by the president himself", Sgt. Greystroke claimed, causing some of the vulpins to gasp in shock. Then the sergeant turns to face the gray vulpin with a serious expression on his face. "As of right now, you are being charged for assault against another military official. You will also be questioned concerning your actions during the massacre and court-marshaled until we find enough valid evidence otherwise", he continued while turning to face his unit. "Take him to the Veron Opus Police Department at once… we must begin the questioning right away", the orange vulpin ordered as they place\ Johnny in forearm cuffs, taking him to one of the parked S.S. hover vans parked outside.

As this was happening, Alexia and her child attempt to follow them until Victoria stops her from progressing. She turned to look at Victoria with a worried expression on her face while her mate continues to cover their kits' eyes.

"Alexia, it might not be a good idea to follow them at this time", Victoria spoke urgently.

"Why! That's my husband they're taking" Alexia asked with calm anger.

"I don't know how the authorities act on your planet, but on Alopex, they'll shoot you down if you constantly try to interfere with their work", Victoria answered in an urgent, but serious tone, causing Alexia to turn away and hold her son, who was still crying in response to what just happened. The vixen also notices the human woman's eyes beginning to fill with tears, thus softening her expression some and places her left hand-paw on her right shoulder. Because of Victoria's act of kindness, Alexia looks up upon her with curious eyes and dries her tears with her free hand. "Why don't you and your son come and sat at our home for some time until we manage to get your husband out of this mess", she offered as Alexia softly smiles at the vixen and nods.

"Thank you, Mrs. Starfox… we'd love to come over", Alexia replied, hugging the vixen as the Starfox family leads them towards another exit. As they exit the Academy, Alexia and Dylan discovers the van that's taking their loved one to the Police Department, causing a tear to stream down her face and the vulpin child to bury his muzzle on his human mother's shoulder. But while comforting her own child, Victoria opens the passenger door for the two, allowing them to enter in the back next to Erica and Scarlet. The general instantly turns the ignition to the hover car and heads back to their home, taking Alexia and Dylan with them to help create their plans on how to get Johnny out of the situation he's in. In Alexia's and Dylan's hearts, all they could do was pray that their beloved husband and father wouldn't face such harsh punishments Greystroke had claimed… or anything far worse that being court-martialed or serving prison time itself.

Hey folks, here's the next installment of 'Legacy of Travas'. Here it takes place at the exact same time as the previous one, but from Johnny's point of view. Apparently, he journeys to Alopex because of a Military Ball the Solarfox Strikeforce (S.S. for short) held. But as the fun times and celebration continue on, the Ball comes to a sudden close when two gunmen start shooting the attendees and members of the force, killing quite a handful of people along with injuring some others. But thankfully, the shooting came to an abrupt end when one of them was gunned down and the other was brutally killed by Johnny with the use of a projectile known as Flay. and when he used the artifact against him, the gunman wasn't just killed, but his body was stripped from his furred flesh and into blood-stained bone. As a result of the second gunman's death, Johnny was taken custody by Sgt. Greystroke, an Alden-based sergeant/agent who claimed he was sent by the president of the U.S. himself. With Johnny's arrest, what will make of him and his family? What will the Starfox family be able to do? Find out in the future installments of 'Legacy of Travas'
