A/N: Fuck, I'm an asshole! After being gone for TWO years, I'm back! Thanks for all of you guys who keep looking back at this story and reviewing/following/favoriting. At first, I was like, whatever. I won't ever finish this. But I realized that it would be pretty selfish to never finish what I started so...here I am again! I believe I have improved on writing, and I hope you guys enjoy this well earned and deserved chapter! Now please excuse me for being rusty. I fell out of the fandom for quite some time, and I'm inexperienced with the characters now. Please bare with it! And thank you all for the negative and positive reviews. They really help me become better at writing! Please enjoy the last chapter of A Place Called Home! It's kind of anticlimatic tho lol.

"And that's the last one!"

Eren stood back and admired his work. His blades were stained with Titan blood, and it reeked horribly as their bodies rotted away into nothing. He sheathed his weapons and wiped his brow.

"Alright! Time to find Baka Mikasa!"

He shot a grapple into the wall and flung himself onto the upper perimeters. The last time he saw Armin and Jean was before he jumped into battle, but now neither of them were in sight.

"Pft. Whatever. Jean would have been a pile of shit anyway. He's a load off my back."

Eren rolled his shoulders back and stretched. It was still painful to move anywhere near his abdomen, but he could handle it. His mind was too preoccupied on finding Mikasa.

"Please...give me a clue or something to work with here!" Eren pleaded desperately to himself. "Anything...just at least give me a general direction."

Eren balled his fists up and was about to yell out to oblivion when he heard loud movement below him.

"Huh? What was that?" He ran close to the edge and glanced down. He spotted out a Titan, at least a 10-meter class, running carelessly towards something.

"That's really weird. They usually don't move about like that unless they see something..." Eren wondered. He saw another Titan, the same height as the other one, standing a few buildings away.

"The hell is this? A romantic scene from a play? Reminds me of the part where the two lovers run up to each other and hug dramatically. Gross." He stuck his tongue out and decided the two Titans weren't worth watching anymore. That was, until he heard the sound of the 3D maneuver gear from below. He could recognize the screeching noise of the wire rope as it rubs against the equipment.

"What? No way!" Eren knelt down and stared at the Titans again. One of the Titans had fallen over and was already steaming, while the other Titan was still making its way over.

"The shit is going on?" Eren jumped down and went to investigate the scene. He slammed his sword into the Wall of Rose to make him fall at a slower rate. Eren rolled off and landed perfectly on the ground, and began to sprint towards the Titan.

"Hey! Jean? Armin! Are you guys there?" He called out as he neared the Titan. The Titan had finally stopped running, and was staring at the smoky mess of its Titan friend. It began to reach towards the middle of the corpse, to the confusion of Eren.

"Eh?" He squinted his eyes and made out the figure of a human. Of someone.

"Armin?! Hey, you giant bastard! Get away from him!"

Eren activated his gear, and launched a grappling hook onto the ground. He pulled himself forward, and like a rubber band, he fly across the ground at an incredible rate. He grabbed onto the body before the Titan could reached it, and he let off another grappling hook onto a nearby building. Eren, with ease, quickly escaped the Titan and made his way up to the Wall's perimeters again.

"God dammit, Armin. I thought we promised each other that we would sent off smoke flares if we find Mikasa or when we're in danger! You could have died back there!" Eren scolded. His eyes were focused on the dark night sky, the moon shining brightly.

"E...Eren?"

"Mikasa?!" Eren nearly dropped her as he finally decided to look at the person he was holding. It was indeed Mikasa, red scarf and everything. Eren landed safely on the ground and placed her gently on the ground. She winced in pain, and Eren panicked.

"What happened to you? Did the Titan do this to you?" He grabbed a hold onto her right arm, and she took a sharp intake of air.

"Sorry! It's just that...God dammit, Mikasa! What the fuck?" He leaned back and scratched his head in frustration. "Why did you leave, huh? I hope you realize how much Armin and I worried about you. Even horseshit Jean was worried. As soon as we get back to camp, we're going to be in so much trouble it won't be funny."

Mikasa stared at the ground and closed her eyes.

"I'm sorry." She pushed her face into her scarf and wrapped her arms around her knees. "I'm really sorry."

His blood turned cold when he heard the tears in her voice, and he instantly softened up.

"Mikasa. I...just tell me why did you go by yourself? Why did you have to go back...home?"

She whipped her head out of her scarf and glanced at Eren with amazement.

"How did you-"

"I just had a gut feeling that you would. That you would never do something as stupid as this unless it involves me."

His eyes were glistening with emotion, and she saw one of them as regret. It was the same gleam as it was when he saved her from that man. She had felt so scared and lost.

"I wanted to save our home. If not, at least see it one more time." She whispered out.

"Our home...? Are you being serious?" His tone wasn't angry, but it sounded disapproving. She nodded and continued.

"I've lost so much to this world. My mom and dad, your mom, and my innocence. I've lost my innocence to this hell on earth as soon as I killed those robbers. The one thing I can't lose is my home!"

She grasped her scarf and cried even harder into it.

"I don't want to lose it! The one place that I can call home! I don't want it to be gone..."

The raw emotions in her voice left Eren speechless. He had never heard her voice out such personal wishes before. He felt his heart break at it.

"...you're wrong," he mumbled. She stopped crying and looked up at him. "Huh?"

"You're wrong when you say that!" He came close to her and placed his hands onto her shoulders.

"The place that is home isn't back there! It isn't the place that we slept, ate, and played in years ago!" He glared down and clenched his teeth. "That isn't home. That place is rubble now because of the Titans."

He sighed. "Mikasa. You know what I think home is? Home is a place where you feel warm, safe, and good. It's where you're able to be comfortable."

Eren stared directly into her eyes, his face red. "My home is with you. Not there, but right here with you."

"Eren..."

"I promised that I would protect you from any danger. I want to protect my home. It's the last thing I have left."

Mikasa wiped her tears from her face and muttered, "I don't want to lose my home too. I want...to have a reason to live."

Eren chuckled lightly and smirked. "I'm your reason to live. Just like how you're my reason to live."

Mikasa returned his smile and placed her hand onto his chest. His heartbeat was beating fast, almost like it was fluttering.

"Mikasa...?" He muttered, confused.

The mood was perfect. The moonlight was their only source of light, only giving enough for Mikasa to see Eren's face and his bright green eyes. She chose that right now wasn't the time to do anything. Not yet, at least.

"Nothing," she replied. She stood up and stumbled a bit until Eren lifted her arm around his shoulder and supported her.

"Come on. Let's head back already. Maybe then we won't be in so much trouble." He playfully nudged her. "Let me go tell Jean and Armin to go back too."

"They came too?"

"Yeah. I told you we were all so worried about you." He took out his flare gun and shot one off in the air. It whistled loudly until it exploded and shone high in the sky.

"Alright! Let's go!"

Mikasa stole a quick glance over to Eren. For a second, she saw the boy who promised to protect her all those years ago. She shook her head.

He had kept his promise.

And as they walked back into camp along with Jean and Armin (who were beyond relieved to see her), she gladly thanked him for being a place she could call home.

A/N: And that's that! A long ass wait for an ending like this! I know, I'm the definition of cruel. Honestly, this fanfic was pretty fun to make, but it didn't really click with me. It was hard to describe things and the characters were hard to write too. But I'm not blaming the fandom or anything; I don't think I'm cut out to write action fanfiction. But with that said, I'm being active once again in ! This time, I'm focusing on writing Nagi no Asukara fanfiction, an anime I definitely recommend, and I'll probably do some other fandom in the near future! I'm extremely sorry that the ending was rushed for A Place Called Home. There was suppose to be SOO much more that would happen, like what was behind the meaning of Mikasa buying that dragon figurine in chapter 3, but I really wanted to finish this and start over. This story has a LOT of plot holes in it, and is really badly constructed in my opinion, but I'm grateful for all of you guys for sticking by and reading this! If you could, please read my Nagi no Asukara fanfic! It's called Counting Days and I'm very satisfied with it! Actually, I'm about done with writing chapter 2, so you can look forward to that :). Thanks for all the reviews and for making this story have over 8,500 views! I'm amazed! It's been a crazy ride. I hope all of you continue reading my stories and thanks for everything! Truly, thank you!
