We got out of the boat and Roberts grabbed me, and started climbing the rope. After a while, someone cut the rope, and we grabbed on to the rock wall. A spaniard looked down and kept nagging Roberts. Finally, he lowered a rope and after Roberts was at the top, I climbed up and hid behind a rock. After a little while, I heard the other man ask, "Who's that little girl behind the rock?" "I don't know what you are talking about", Roberts said. "I can hear her, just tell me, I will not harm her", the man said. Roberts motioned to me and I slowly stepped out. "What's your name", the spaniard asked me. "Maria", I said. "A beautiful name for a beautiful young girl", the man said, smiling. The 2 men talked for a bit and then Roberts bent down to my height and said, "Hide behind a rock and do not look until the battle is over." I nodded and ran behind a rock, keeping my head down until I felt a tap on my shoulder.
