Chapter 16: The one with diffrent kind of dates part 2
Alex's POV
I was in my room packing my stuff for the weekend was over protective as ever
" Mom take it easy I'm just gonna go over my boyfriends for the weekend. Don't worry abaut it so much..." I said
" Well thats just the thing I'm worrying abaut. I'm only now gonna meet his parents now and you're gonna say that I have to trust them to take care of you for the whole weekend? " Mom said
" If you trust Emma or Jes you can trust Monica and Chandler. I have a phone if you want to call. Besides we will stay PG-13 stuff only. I really need this after everything that's been going on over the last month..."
" Alex we hope that you do realize, that it's atleast an hour trip for us if you want to come home early... It's a little diffrent when you're going to boyfriends who lives miles a part, than if you practically go to neighbour to Emma or Jes. We are gonna let you go, we are not gonna back down on that, but we just hope that you know what you're doing..." My dad said
" Dad, I'm not planning coming back before sunday, besides Monica has promised me to drive me back if I want to... This last month has been painful for many reasons now it's time to enjoy what I got out of it. Everything can go wrong I don't deny that, but I didn't do all the work to give up now."
" Fine just be careful, okay?" My mom said
" I will and as I said feel free to call if you want, I have my phone with me after all." I said wanting to just get this over with
" Of course, you do realize that it's our job to worry abaut you? It's just that you've grown so much since you met with Emma and Jessica that it's just been a little hard" Mom said with a sad face
" I do realize that you guys have to worry abaut me. Maybe I have spent a little too much time with the girls lately... So how abaut next weekend we will keep a family weekend. You guys decide what we do just us, it's been forever since we had one..." I suggested.
" Are you sure abaut that? I think you have something else in mind, but fine by us I guess..." My dad said I nodded and at the same time doorbell rang.
" Well finally they're here. I don't know how much more I could have taken this..." I said
" Remember that this is just the begining. You are not out of here just yet we want to know who you're going with..." My parents said
" Well atleast I can justify going to my boyfriends place with my boyfriend..." I said trying to calm myself down as my mother went to open the door
" Well it's nice to meet you I'm Katelyn, this is my husband Brian, you must be Jack" My mom said
" Well I think we have met couple times before but yes that's me and this is my mom Monica and my dad Chandler." Jack tried to sound confident while offering his hand...
" Well pleasure to meet you all. Are you sure our daughter won't be too much trouble for you?" My mom asked
" Are you kidding? I love when we have guests. Specially if it's my sons first girlfriend. These guys have gone trough so much that it's time that they can truly enjoy of eachother company. Your daughter is in good hands and if she feels too much homesick then I'll drive her back without any questions..." Monica said
" Alex why don't you show Jack your room, we will continue this discussion just adults, okay? We will tell you when your good to go." My mom said
" Well I guess, I don't understand what is such a thing that you can't discuss while we're here... But fine if that's what it takes to get going then lets go Jack" I said
" So this is your room, kind of girlish, but suits you just fine." Jack said. I have allways been the girly one out of us three I have my little pony posters on a pink wall so I could see what he meant
" Well yeah I'm a girl aren't I? What did you expect? You got the girly one out of us three"
" I didn't know what to expect to be honest I have only been in Emmas room and lets just say her room isn't tenth this girly.
" Yeah I have been in Emmas room too and I agree, but as I said I'm kind of a girly girl I hope it doesn't bother you too much..."
" As I said I have no troubles abaut what are we gonna do before we leave?"
" Well how abaut telling me what I have ahead of me, I mean tell what your normal life is like. Friends, school and stuff like that, I realized other day that I basicly know nothing abaut you... Outside of what I've seen and Emma has told me abaut. After all I assume that you want your friends to meet your girlfriend, I think you haven't kept your mouth shut even at the begining..."
" Well I guess that's not a bad idea... And you're right as usual, I needed to talk someone abaut you. I have couple guys who are like Emma and Jes are for you. May I?" He said taking my laptop
" Be my guest" I said
" Well here is Thomas Jones or just TJ for short, one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet has allways had my back no matter what. He was also the first one I told abaut you. I'll trust my life in his hands if I need to, so why not our secret... Second from the right is Sam Michaels another very close friend of mine. He pretends to be tough guy but without us he can't do anything... Last but not least is our female addition to the team, Andrea Smith she is allways blended in our group just fine hasn't found herself a boyfriend yet but probably will find one soon. " Jack introduced his "team" from the facebook picture he has.
" Well I'll look forward to meet all of them. Thats a good start for this..." I said and gave him a little kiss
" Okay lovebirds break it off, we would be leaving if everything is ready..." Monica came to room
" Mom haven't you heard abaut knocking?" Jack asked little annoyed
" Well Alex promsed her mom that PG-13 stuff only so you shouldn't have anything to hide..." Monica said
" Still doesn't mean that we wouldn't appreciate knocking before coming in..." I said
" Well I'm sorry, but as I said we would be ready to leave if you guys have everything ready. You can continue that stuff when we get to our place..." Monica said
" Well I have eveything ready I'll just pack my laptop and we're good to go..." I said
Moments went by and I finished my packing and went with Jack
" Mom I'm leaving now. And don't worry so much I'll call when I get there." I said
" Hey have fun honey and Jack take care of our daughter, okay. She means everything to us. Remember that you can call anytime if you want to, okay? We're so proud of you" Mom said clearly little sad and panic
" Of course I will, she means allmost as much to me as she does to you. Thank you for letting her to come over. She is in good hands don't worry so much" Jack said
" Bye, I love you so much" I shouted as I left with Monica, Chandler and Jack
Hour of driving went by a lot faster than I expected. We talked just abaut anything and everything I learned alot abaut Jack and Erica and Emma all together. That actually reminded of me abaut two things I needed to do before weekend is over. But that could wait untill a little later that's not the main focus on this weekend.
" So here we are, what do you think?" Jack asked me
" Well looks nice outside lets see if inside is any good..." I said grabbing my stuff
"...And here is our guest room you can unpack. You can of course spend time in Jacks room but I promised to your mom that you will sleep in diffrent rooms..." Monica said giving a little house tour
" Yeah I know what I promised to my mom too and I will keep that promise. Thank you . I'll unpack and come down, okay?" I said
" Hey you can call me Monica. And once more welcome, it's nice to have you here."
" It's nice to finally be here, it's been little tough month and half it's good to finally be able to enjoy."
" Hey I'll make dinner it will be ready in 45 minutes, how abaut checking on Jack before that?"
" Or what if I take over from here?" Jack said as he came to room
" Fine you guys deserve this I'll call when dinner is ready..." Monica said
" So what are we gonna do this weekend? I mean, I just came here and I am pretty much on your mercy..." I said acting like a helpless princess
" Well what abaut we start by me giving you tour on my room, I mean I saw your room it's only fair that you get to see mine, right?"
" I guess that's a start. So you basicly were so exited abaut this that you didn't give that much thought what we would do when we finally get here. Am I right? " I asked trying to tease a little
" Hey main point was to spend weekend together, right? What we do come long after that. I was thinking abaut movie night tomorrow and maybe meeting my friends and stuff like that? I just want to spend time with you, doesn't matter how..." Jack said
" Well hang out is all we need of course. I want to know your friends and movie night doesn't sound like a bad idea, see you have ideas it doesn't have to be anymore complicated than that." I said as Jacks phone went of
" It's TJ." Jack said
" Answer it and put him in the speaker maybe he has some idea what could we do as a group..." I said and Jack nodded
" Hi TJ what's up?" Jack asked putting him on speaker
" Not much Bing is your girlfriend there and ready to meet us?" TJ asked
" Yeah I'm here you're on the speaker, nice to finally hear you TJ and yeah just say the time and the place and we'll be there" I said
" Well nice to hear you too Alex, Bing can bearly shut up abaut you so it's abaut time we see who you truly are. We have had our doubts that do you even exist but I guess I owe Bing apology... The whole secrecy thing sounded so made up that's all. By the way you two are also on the speaker we are all here. We were thinking abaut going bowling tomorrow care to join us?"
" Well sounds good to me, TJ you know my mom and how much of a pain in the ass she can be, you can't blame us for going out secret for awhile. And don't worry you guys will meet Alex tomorrow..." Jack said
" Yeah well this is enough to prove it, so say at two at the mall?" TJ asked
" Fine by us we'll be there. Can't wait bye for now" I said
"Bye" Everyone on the otherside said
" So exited to meet them now that you've heard them?" Jack asked me
" Yeah and bowling sounds fun, if it gets to awkward then you can consentrate on bowling. It's been awhile since we've been bowling with the girls but I think I'll do just fine." I said
" I think I'm just so nervous abaut you meeting my friends that I'm worrying abaut nothing."
" Hey it's gonna go fine so don't worry abaut it so much..." I said
" Hey guys dinner is ready..." Monica shouted from downstairs interupting us
" Okay we will be right there" Jack shouted back
" This made me allmost forget that this night isn't over yet..." I said nervously
" Hey it's gonna be fine don't be so nervous mom is gonna love you just be the charming girl you are and you're gonna do just fine" Jack tried to comfort me
" Oh hi Erica" I said as I noticed her, when I came down stairs
" Hi Alex! So finally here... Ready to be teared apart during dinner by our parents?" Erica asked clearly trying to freak me out
" Don't you listen to her she's just mad becouse I got girlfriend before her and she can't even talk to her crush..." Jack said but got cut of by his sister
" Do you mind? You know I don't want to run into him by "accident" just becouse you told Alex abaut him..." Erica said
" Then how abaut not teasing my girlfriend and I might keep my mouth shut. You know that it would be easier just to talk with him..." Jack said
" If you guys aren't gonna use names then could you do this at some other point?" I said getting tired of those two arguing.
" Fine it might come up at dinner though..." Jack warned
" No its not... Or else I might have to share some secrets abaut you with Alex and I don't think we're gonna want that now do we?" Erica said
" What are you two arguing abaut, cut it we have guest..." Monica said coming to see what's taking us so long.
" She started it..."
" Jack do you really want to argue with your sister, when you've waited last month to get your girlfriend here? And Alex what are these two arguing abaut?" Monica asked me and Erica gave me a glare
" Nothing major just some sibling rivalry..." I lied I didn't want to give up Ericas info she helped us a lot after all
" You don't have to protect these two you know you're a guest here. Fine if you two behave I don't interigate you any more." Monica said and Jack and Erica nodded
" I'm not, I'm not just quite sure what that was all abaut..." I said little confused and decided talk with Erica later...
" Well why don't you come to table?" Monica asked me
" Fine what are we having?"
" Poached salmon some vegetables and noodles I hope you enjoy."
" Well lets see... Wow amazing Jack told me you're a chef so not that big of a surprise but still tastes amazing." I said impressed
" So what plans you have this weekend?" Chandler asked
" Well we thought we would go to bowling with guys, since Alex wants to meet my friends and they want to meet her as well. And maybe afterwards movies, of course for that I would need some funding.." Jack said little sad
" I think we can arrange that you need to be able to offer your lady a movie night..." Chandler said
" Hey thanks dad"
" Do you want help clearing up?" I decided to offer
" Hey I like your girlfriend allready" Monica said I winked at Jack
We cleared up and Monica talked half hour abaut how table should be cleaned, I still don't understand how she managed to do that... Later on we were just lying on bed talking...
" What are you thinking?" Jack asked me
" Your sister..." I said
" Well didn't expect that to be honest, what abaut her? You know she's not allways like that..."
" I know, but do realize that she's going through same what we went through month ago and I don't think that I want to see her wait a year before getting her reward..."
" Hey it's her own problem if she doesn't want to talk to the guy isn't it ?"
" If Emma would have thought that way we still wouldn't be here, I think I go talk to her..."
" Be my guest but don't do anything too hasty okay?" Jack said clearly worried
" I won't I just want her to be as happy as we are... I'll be right back warn us if you see your mom coming to our way" I said
" You know you're an amizing girl no wonder I fell for you. Don't take too long I don't want to waste time on this weekend" Jack said
" Okay I just know that this would bother me way too much if I didn't do anything abaut it and I don't think you want that either..."
I went to Ericas room door, I wasn't complitely sure what I was gonna say but had to improvise now since I didn't have Emma or Jes to back me up. I knocked on the door...
" Yeah come in, it's open" Erica shouted
" Hi, have a moment?" I asked
" Hi Alex, what are you doing here? I thought that you guys wouldn't get apart this weekend no matter what..." Erica wondered
" Well the earlier happening startted to bother me... You know that we've been through the same thing with your brother, neither of us wanted to talk to eachother and so on, if you need help then I'm here for you. I'm not like Emma or Jes I only offer my help, I don't force it on anyone..."
" What has my brother done to deserve a girl like you? But you have to promise not to tell him okay? This has to stay secret even from him..."
" I assume that it means that you've got a crush on one of his friends, you know your brother isn't stupid I'm pretty sure that he will catch on pretty easily. I wouldn't want to hide anything from my boyfriend but I want to help you so who is it? You have my word I don't tell him..."
" God I hope, I wont regret this... Well I guess you owe me for keeping your secret. It's TJ." Erica said whispering the last part
" As in his bestfriend TJ? You know you're taking a pretty big chance if you start to date him, but I can probably try to see if he's intrested. Yeah consider it a payback for helping us..."
" I know, I'll take a pretty big chance, but that doesn't make it any easier to forget... He has allways been nice to me and everything. If you can try to ask him a little then I would appreciate that but please, please, please be careful. I don't want to make a fool out of myself.
" I'll be careful. I see what can I do, okay?"
" Thanks Alex you're the best" Erica said and hugged me
" So did you find anything out?" Jack asked as I came back to his room
" I did, unfortinatly though, I made a promise to not tell anyone including you..."
" Hey, not fair. You can't keep info like this from your boyfriend."
" Just keep your eyes open and you'll find it out. It's not my style to break promises so even though I wouldnt nececearly want to do this, I promised your sister so I won't tell"
" Okay your loyalty to your friends is one thing I fell in love with you so I can understand it, But I realized that we haven't done one thing since we got here " Jack said giving me a passionate look
" Wow I guess, I see what you mean. Well how abaut taking the lead? It's your home..." I startted but got silenced by a deep kiss
" Wow is it me or do you get better everytime?" Jack asked
" I don't know, I think the surroundings and the fact that it get finally do this without any worries. You're good too, god I wish this will never end. "
" Neither do I. But it's really up to us you know, I like to think that we got throught the worst. Of course we are still in the begining but we have done everything right so far. There still the distance between us but now that everyone knows I hope its not that much of a issue."
We continued talking for the entire evening. We didn't even realize the time until Monica came to Jacks room
" Okay lovevbirds time to go to sleep you guys have a big day tomorrow you don't want to be tired then, so Alex how has your day been? As perfect as you wished, I'm guessing since you guys haven't come out of here for hours..." Monica asked
" Yeah this day served it's purpose just nicely, as you said main focus is on tomorrow. Hey thanks again for having me here. This has really been everything what I wished for so far, I can't wait for tomorrow. Good night Monica, good night Jack." I said giving Jack a little kiss
" Good night Alex, I will see you in the morning" Jack said
" Monica can I talk to you for a second?" I said as I went towards my room
" Of course what is it?" Monica answered and came to room with me
" Well I'm planning a little surprise to Ross and Rachel to their 10th year anniversery with Emma and Jes I could use all the pictures I can get of them "
" Well sounds nice I think we can manage that. Lets talk more abaut it at morning."
" And I'm planning a little surprise on Jes and Emma too. I believe you still want to get back on Emma for hiding us and outsmarting you so I'm gonna need pictures of her too..."
" Of course, but good night for now Alex."
" Good night Monica"
I slept well usually I don't sleep that well on a "strange" place but now I guess knowing that my boyfriend was in the room next to me helped. I woke up pretty early as usual, usually I'm first to wake in my family so I decided to go downstairs without a second thought.
" Good morning Alex, did you sleep well?" Monica asked I just realized that they have free time to interview me untill Jack wakes up and I had no idea how long he would sleep, but I decided that heck, atleast they get to know me a little better.
" Good morning to you too, yeah I slept like a rock. Do you have some coffee?"
" Good to know, help yourself... Are exited for today?"
" You can believe that I'm exited I've waited this for so long that it's abaut time we get our date..." I said as I crabed a coffee
" So how long has this been going on, I mean that I understood that you guys had something going on before this secret thing also..." Chandler said
" Well it startted at the Emma's birthday year before this... I startted to notice that Jack checked me out every now and then. I thought that he would make his move sooner or later and even decided to help him out a little by responding, but I couldn't talk to him either so we needed Emmas help before we could get ourselfs something else than just looks..."
We talked for couple hours, they learned a lot abaut me and I learned the whole history of them. It was nice to know that they couldn't judge us for hiding becouse they had done the same thing. Finally Jack also came downstairs...
" Well you could have warned me that you sleep late... Good morning" I began
" Oh totally forgot mention that sorry abaut that, appearently you've survived with my parents though..."
" Yeah no problem, just messing with you... We've gotten to know eachother a little better. Nothing too major happend."
" Well I'm not sure I want to know what you've talked abaut... So are you exited abaut today?"
" You better believe it I can't believe that this day has finally arrived, here is a little head start..." I said and crabbed him to a deep kiss
" Okay you two, save something for your date too... Or atleast go to one of your rooms." Monica said
" Yeah like you've never kissed in front of me and Erica like no tomorrow..."
" We are married and adults we have some benefits becouse of that" Monica said
" Yeah I've heard your "benefits" on some nights and we're not gonna do any of them just yet" Jack said
We talked abaut two hours. Untill it was time to leave I was so nervous abaut everything that it wasn't even funny...
" So how do I look?" I asked looking myself in the mirror
" Alex you look absoulutely stunning as allways don't be so nervous abaut this. It's gonna go fine." Jack said crabbing my waist
" Yeah I know, it's just that I'm so nervous abaut everything... Should we go before I start to panic anymore?"
We kissed and left. As arrived at the mall I startted to calm down. Jack decided to go get us some coffee before meeting the other and left his cell with me incase they call, but as I waited I saw 3 people suprisingly familiar looking figures looking arround and coming towards me...
" Where is Bing? He should be here by now we are even a little late... I'll call him" TJ said as phone in my pocket startted to ring
" You know it's kind of rude to ignore your bestfriends girlfriend when you see her..." I said as he turned arround
" Oh hi there sorry that we missed you, expected to see you two together, so where is your boyfriend?" Tj asked me
" Went to get some coffee for us, so do we let him to do the honours or do we do introductions now?" I asked as I saw Jack coming
" Well I'll do the honours if you don't mind, of course you remember, everyone right?" he said and introduced everyone once more
" Well nice to finally meet you Alex we've been waiting for this. How has the weekend been so far?" TJ asked trying to create some conversation
" Nice to meet all of you too in person. This weekend has been good and I only expect to become better..." I said looking at Jack
" Okay should we go bowling before these guys go down to business?" Sam asked clearly little annoyed
Bowling it self was pretty much as fun as allways. Even if I learned that pause has taken toll on me this case, well atleast I have an idea what could I do next time we have a girls night... I noticed that TJ had something on his mind and knowing what I promised to Erica I decided to crab the opportunity...
" So TJ I've noticed that something might be bothering you, whats up?" I asked straight
" It's nothing really I've just had problems with my computer, seems to be running a little slow, actually slow as hell to be exact, made it impossible to play just abaut anything..." TJ said and I startted to think that is he playing to my hands. Jack gave a look
" Alex we do have time between this and the movie would you mind if you checked it out? I know it shouldn't be that hard and these guys could know that what can you do..." Jack said
" Well if you're okay with it then yeah, why not? I wanted to ask that but didn't know did you have something in mind during the break..."
" So Alex, you're good with computers? I think Bing mentioned something like that at one point, I don't live far from here so we can easily go check it out. I'm truly in dept for you if you can make it work..."
" Well I'll keep it in mind. I can see what can I do, so shall we?" I said and we left
We arrived at TJs place little later his mother was there to welcome us
" Hello Jack and Thomas. Who's the girl? " His mom asked
" Oh sorry mom this is Jacks girlfriend Alexandra. She's gonna try to help me with my computer..." TJ said
"Oh good, hope she can help. Nice to meet you Alexandra"
" Well nice to meet you too mrs Jones, I'll do my best. And please both of you, call me Alex."
" And you can call me Caroline, Alex" She said smiling
" Well let's see that computer of yours now..." I said to TJ
Hour went by and I could totally see what TJ was talking abaut, but he can pretty much blame himself. Virus and malware softwares way out of date and way too much stuff on hard drive, I did everything I could but I knew, that I had to give him some tips so it wouldn't go back to that so easily. Thankfully he just came to room.
" So any hope making it better?" He asked
" Well I did what I could but you can do much more on your own. First of all keep your virus checking software to the date otherwise it won't be that much of a help. Second you need to clear some space on your hard drive and if you don't want your hard drive or anything else to crash then you need new fan to your computer. But it's much better than it was trust me but you can do much more as I said."
" Thanks alot Alex I knew that Bing didn't praise you for nothing, now I got a feeling that you had something I can do for you when we talked abaut this, so I said I owe you one so tell me, what can I do for you?" TJ asked
" Well I want your honest opinion on something, but you must promise that you don't tell abaut it to Jack..." I startted
" Why did I have a feeling that it might come to this... Let me guess you want to know what I think abaut Erica Bing?" TJ said with confidence.
" Am I seriously this predictable, or have I missed something? But yeah basicly that's exactly what I want..."
" I like her, I like her alot. But I don't think I can't start anything with her becouse of her brother."
" That's just abaut the lamest excuse that you can have to not date someone. You're his bestfriend he has praised you to me like no tomorrow, it might be wierd at first but he would get used to it. So don't let him to stop you."
" Are you sure he wouldn't mind if given time? I know he pretends that he doesn't care abaut his sister but I know that the truth is that he protects her with all his power and doesn't let anything happen to her..."
" He doesn't mind becouse he knows what a great guy you are just go for it you can keep it for a secret first but I'm pretty sure that he would hear it from you rather than anyone else... Just remember that he's not stupid."
" Fine I guess but you do realize that when we tell him he will figure out that you knew, right?"
" I know and I'm ready to deal with that... Call her." I said and gave him piece of paper that had Ericas number on it
" Thanks and hey good luck on your date" TJ said as we left the room
" Thanks, hey and good luck with Erica." I said
We left and went to movies Jack had noticed that something was going on...
" So what did you and TJ talked abaut? Should I be worried?" Jack asked I wasn't sure was he serious or not
" Not much just gave him some tips how to make his computer run a little better in the future and he told me a little bit abaut you. But nothing major or anything to be embarrassed. You have great friend in him you know that right?" I asked
" That guy is the best. I guess I don't question you any more. Let's just enjoy the time we have here."
Movie and the rest of the weekend went just fine I didn't hear anything from Erica but I understood that she had something going I was just hoping that everything would go okay and it wouldn't destroy TJ and Jacks friendship. At the end of the weekend we were saying goodbyes out side of my apparpment
" God I wish this wouldn't have to end..." Jack said
" Hey but this was a great weekend and my parents promised that you can come stay here a weekend next month here"
" But that's month from now..."
" Well untill that you can remember this weekend and we will talk over the phone and everything so don't be so sad. We will see again before we know it. But bye for now... Besides we're gonna see at the anniversery..." I said and gave him a kiss as he walked to the car
Next time we continue with The one with morning after dates. I have most of it allready writen so shoulnd't take as long as this did...
