Chapter 18 TOW Judo tournament
Emmas POV
It was friday after the date weekend. And Linda as expected was exposed as who she was for the whole school, even if I was against it. She lost the trust of her group and was clearly down. I don't think that anyone deserves that kind of shit, not even her. We were talking at the coffeeshop with the girls as usual...
" You know I don't even feel bad for her she got what she deserved" Jes said
" No one deserves shit like that raining on them..." I said
" You can't seriously feel bad for her. She has bullied us as long as we have known eachother. If it wasn't her it would be me so I guess I got off easy with this..."
" Well you two have 3 major diffrences Jes..."
" Care to share them?"
" Well first of all you have a girlfriend you could have leaned towards to and just wait until it gets over, second you have us, her friends abanded her even if I can't blame them for not taking double crossing them. She didn't deserve this and third You were out of the closet so it wouldn't be so hard for you mentally you knew it was coming sooner or later. Imagine if this would have happend to you like little over month ago, how would you have felt?" I asked
" Well you're still a lot bigger person than I am.I still can't feel sorry for her... Well speaking of witch..." Jes said as she saw Linda at the door looking around. She bearly never came to coffeeshop that's why we usually liked to hang out here to be safe
" Hi guys" Linda said casually
" What do you want? Get out of here..." Jes said
" I want to talk to Geller and Geller alone, if that's not possible then I'm out of here, but I want to hear it from Geller herself..." Linda said getting annoyed
" After what you've done over years dream on... No way in..." Jes startted but I interupted
" I can handle her alone, let's take a little walk... I'll be back in twenty minutes if not or I haven't called. Then kill her next time you see her. okay? But I doubt she want's any harm for me at the moment..." I said
" Fine, I trust you even if I don't trust her..." Jes said
" So what do you want, you know I'm on thin ice here... Those two won't take this good no matter what..." I startted when we got outside of cafe
" Well as much as I hate to admit it Geller I need your help. You know my situation and you somewhat know what I'm going through... " Linda startted
" There is honestly not much I can do. I don't have the authority to change schools opinion and to be honest I can't help you until you help yourself... And please call me Emma"
"What do you mean?"
" I mean that I can't help you if you're not ready to be who and what you are that was the only way that I was able to help Jessica and she's one of my best friends" I said
" Well let's say I'm ready to be who and what I am then what can I do?"
" Well you need to show that you are proud to be who you are..."
" You probably mean that I need to be gay on public. but how do I do that? I don't have anyone I could even ask that at the moment.
" Well that's a problem but I guess you can figure out something. Hey you just need to find someone if there is guys lined up for you, let dust setle and there is another line of girls for you, but remember that you need to learn how to respect people bullying anyone isn't answer to anything."
" Well hey but thanks Emma I appreciate this, I hope I can get some sense to my life..."
" Hey no problem no one deserves kind of shit you have went through this week. If you need to talk and I'm alone then you can come to me. You're not that bad guy after all. I still can't be your friend that time went long ago now I have to go back, see you around." I said as I went back to coffeeshop and I wasn't sure what to expect I saw that Melissa had join us
" So what happend appearently you didn't get beaten up, so does that mean that we have addition to our group?" Jes asked
" Not by a longshot you know that she has lost her chances to be my friend long ago..." I said
" Well good becouse you know neither of us can stand her..." Alex said
" I know you don't, I just basicly gave her advices that worked on Jes and Melissa... But hey let's talk abaut something else. Are you guys exited for the weekend?" I said watching Melissa and Jes
" Well yeah we just found out that we meet at tatami at the first round. Kind of anticlimactic if you ask me but atleast you see our match for certain..." Melissa said.
" Wow first round that's gonna be intresting, anticlimactic as you said, but intresting for sure. So Jes how does it feel to go against your girlfriend who is your biggest competition as well?" I said
" Nervous, but I'm allways happy to kick her ass no matter what, our rivalry didn't go anywhere just becouse we startted dating. So I still hope you're gonna bring your A game otherwise you're gonna go down in record time..." Jes said
" Well if you wanted to go down with me then all you had to do was ask but on tatami it's not gonna happen atleast with you taking the lead..." Melissa said trying to tease Jes
" Well we shall see abaut that after I kick your ass, but first things first... Should we take rest of the day without eachother and concentrate I don't want you to have any excuses tomorrow..."
" Well as you wish, I can keep our relationship and competing against you, apart but if you want of course we can take rest of the day off. So I guess I see you tomorrow..." Melissa said kissing Jes and leaving. We got intrsted and startted to look at Jes
" What?" Jes simply asked
" You expect that we don't want to know more?" I asked assuming that she knows what I'm talking abaut
" More abaut what exactly?"
" Well that conversation couple last sentances specially..."
" Oh yeah, I guess I didn't think you would be that intrested. But yeah we have talked abaut that thing too and decided it's not a taboo so don't get any ideas that we would have allready done it or anything like that. I don't think we're ready to do it even if we joked abaut it
" Well sounded like you two would do it after tournament, but I guess joking abaut it why not. Just the fact that you talk abaut it just like that when I don't think neither of us has talked abaut it with our boyfriends... Well you're a smart girl you do it when it feels right just like we will, but don't expect that we don't want to hear abaut it when it happens..."
" Well yeah not quite sure abaut it, that's one option but we're gonna have a date after we get the business over with but where that leads to, only time will tell... As you said I want to do it only when I'm ready without any regrets..."
" Hey we are not judging you, if you want to do it then go for it. You two have one less thing to worry abaut compared to me or Emma." Alex said
" Thanks I wasn't gonna ask your permission for it anyways... But I think I better go prepearing too, I expect to see you tomorrow and rooting for me and only me atleast in our match" Jes said
" Of course don't even think abaut it,we'll root for only you as long as you are in the tournament..." We both said and Jes left
" Well this is gonna be intresting isn't it? Those two going head to head who do you think will win?" Alex asked me
" I hope Jes, but to be honest I think Melissa is favorite on that match, she seems much calmer... Jes better figure out something, otherwise it's gonna be easy win for Melissa." I said
" We can only hope, somehow I got a feeling Jes might have something up her sleeve... But true that Melissa seemed to take this just for sport and left their relationship out of it..."
Next day we were heading to tournament setting and were wondering could Jes clear her mind. We hadn't talked to Jes since we left the cafe, we trusted that if she wanted to talk then she would call... As we arrived we saw Jes inside with her costume on she looked like nothing could stop her as pretty much allways when she was competing. We asked to have a little word with her
" So everything okay, ready to kick her ass?" Alex asked
" Sorry but rules won't allow me to kick her ass, but I'll take her down otherways, you'll see. But don't blink you might miss it otherwise..." Jes said with mysterious voice when going to prepear
" What did she mean?" Alex asked me
" I think we're gonna find out, but I think you might be right, she has something up her sleeves." I said regocnizing the voice
" So are you guys ready to comfort your friend when she loses?" Melissa came to us
" We are, but don't take her so lightly she might be more dangerous than she looks at the moment..." I said back
" She allways looks like that there is nothing new... Well I guess I will find out soon what she is up to..." Melissa said and left
" Well I think Jessica is gonna win this, Melissa takes this way too lightly. Jessica is up to something and if she's not ready for it then she loses. " I said
" True I guess we're abaut to find out..." Alex said as those two entered the tatami.
Jessicas POV
There I was, with her just like so many times before... This time it was more than just a match to see whose better. It was match to see can I keep my dating life out of this. I had a plan only problem is that if I can't execute it I would probably lose... And I only had one shot of doing it. Well everything else to side now it's just abaut judo nothing more, nothing less thats what I told myself...
" Well I hope you're ready to lose, but don't worry atleast you have enough shoulders to cry on when it happens..." Melissa startted
" Overconfidence god how much I love it, it's been while since I've been able to use it to my advantage. You're going down Melissa and nothing is gonna change that... And don't worry I'm sure they let you cry on their shoulder too when it happens..." I said
" Are you two done with trash talking?" Refree asked us
" Sure, let's get this thing underway we can continue this after she goes down..." We both said
" Good luck, you're gonna need it..." I said as we shook hands
" You too" Melissa said and refree checked that everything was okay
Refree blowed the whistle. Melissa tried to make easy win by taking me down quickly, I managed to dodge and got off an easy throw. Before she could do anything we were on the tatami me on top of her
" What just happend?" She said while struggling
" You made a rookie mistake, my friend, if you dont do something and fast you are gonna lose this..." I said as she realized that there was nothing to be done she had allready lost this and just gave up. Refree blowed his whistle
" Winner by fast Ippon: Jessica Miller" was heard and I saw Emma and Alex standing up. Melissa grabbed me in to to a deep kiss to my surprise she had said that no one that she knew here knew that she was gay I guess she wanted to take also me out of the closet for the last time I decided to let it go.
" Gongrats" She said to me
" Thanks and thanks for that kiss too, I have nothing holding me back anymore..." I said
" Hey you deserved it I think this is the way faith wanted it to happen. I'll root for you all the way, okay?" Melissa asked
" I expect nothing less... Thanks, how abaut we exchange couple words with those two?" I said pointing towards Emma and Alex
" Well how did you like that? I told you not to blink and now you know why..." I said
" I can't believe that I made such a rookie mistake. Shouldn't have underestimated you..." Melissa said
" I told you I was gonna take you down and take you down fast you should've listened to your girlfriend..." I said
" Gongratulations honey" I heard and regocnized it as my mom
" Mom when did you get here? I thought you wouldn't be able to make here in time." I asked
" Did you really think I would miss one of the biggest matches of your life so far? I just didn't want to give you any extra preasure in that match. Your father would be so proud of you, you know that right?" Mom said to me and I felt a little tear coming down on my cheek...
" I know mom, I know... I also know that he watched me today he gave me strenght..." I said and Melissa looked me like she wanted to know more... I noticed Emma smiling to me. She and Alex were the only ones who know my whole story
" I will tell you afterwards, okay? I want to consentrate on this for now." I said to Melissa.
" Of course. I want to hear everything but hey go all the way and make your father proud. Don't let my fall to be for nothing." Melissa said
The day was good for me I went from win to win it felt like I was born again from that victory over Melissa. Only thing we forgot was that this tournament wasn't gonna end until tomorrow I had made top 16. I got few bad words abaut being gay but I decided that I am what I am if someone has a problem with that then screw them. I also got some understanding it's not easy to come out of closet here but I'm tired to act something I'm not. I'm proud to be who and what I am and that's it if there is gonna be a guy who takes me away in the end then so be it but now I enjoy my time with my girlfriend... We sat at the coffeeshop with girls and of course Melissa who was eager to know more abaut my past...
" So why don't you two tell your full story, I have a feeling there is much more to this than there is to the eye" Melissa startted
" Well I promised to do that so why not... I'll begin at the time when me Emma met abaut 10 years ago... And don't worry this won't take too long even if the time period is long..." I began and Melissa nodded
*Flashback*
Emma was new at our kindergarden and had not made any friends so far and I saw her playing alone so I decided to offer company
" Hi you're the new girl aren't you? May I join you?" I asked
" Yeah haven't made friends yet so I guess you could be a good start... I'm Emma" Emma said offering her hand
" Jessica, nice to meet you"
" Likewise"
*End of a flashback*
We played together and have been inseperable ever since. Unfortinatly year after we met. My father..." I startted. I felt tears coming
"Died? It's okay just let it out..." Melissa interupted since I couldn't get a word out.
" Well yeah by a car accident. There was nothing that could have been done. Only problem was that I was supposed to be in that car with him... We had a stupid fight and I got myself grounded becouse of it. It's been nine years exactly today. You can understand getting a win like that on a day like this makes me a little emotional, right?"
" Hey you don't need to justify being emotional, I know there is lot more to you than the whole tough girl attitude. There would have been nothing you could have done if you were with him. In the worst case you would have been gone with him..." Melissa tried to comfort me
" She was pretty broken no one of course blamed her what happend, but she seemed to take personally the whole thing... But during next new year I got her back to herself..." Emma startted
*Flashback*
Emmas POV
" Mom Couldn't you atleast try to get Jessica here? You know she's going through alot so is her mother..." I said
" She probably wants to just be together with her mother..." My mom said, but the doorbell rang. My mom went to open. There were Jes and Kate
" Emma!" Jes said running to me and hugging me I looked at my mom.
" Hey you to you too, mom how abaut now, please? You see how happy it makes her even to see me..." I put on the puppy dog face
" You two clearly want to spend time together so why not going to Emmas room we will talk abaut this with adults, okay? We will come to tell you when we've reached a decicion . Enjoy the time you two have right now..." My mom said and we ran to upstairs
Rachels POV
" So I'm guessing that Emma has same wish as Jessica has?" Kate asked me
" Yeah she has been asking abaut it the whole day... Are you okay if she spends new year here?" I asked
" I only want her to be happy and I think that reaction she had when you opened the door proved that she couldn't be happier than she would be if she could spend new year with Emma..."
" Well I don't think that it would be good for you to spend new year alone, so why don't you both stay here for the new year, we can make a guest room for both of you so you can even sleep here..." Ross said
" Well if it isn't too much trouble then why not. How abaut food then do you guys have enough if we stay?"
" Well I think we were gonna order something in anyways so of course. Hey you're both more than welcome here. That smile on Jessicas face is something that money can't buy specially not in a situation like this..." I said
" Well then the food is on me. I can't thank you guys enough, your girl is an angel..." Kate said
" Hey those two are a pair other is nothing without the other. Emma is clearly happy to be able to help, so should we go to tell girls the news?" Ross asked.
We went upstairs and her door was open as allways back then...
" Look at them how could we ever split those two..." Kate started
" Mom, dad, Kate, so whats the decicion" Emma asked and they both had clearly only hope on their faces
" Do you girls promise to behave if we let you stay here?" I asked
" You won't hear a thing from us unless you want of course. We will be like angels your wish is our comand..." They said like from one mouth.
" Well then since you're having so much fun who are we to stop you... But only of course if we can talk with Emma for a little while alone..." Kate said
" You guys are the best!" Came from both of them
" Well of course if you want to talk with me then I guess I'll be right back, okay?" Emma said looking at Jes
" Hey take your time we have more than enough time now..." Jes said back
" So what can I do for you?" Emma asked
" Well I guess you know what day it is tomorrow... So do you want to surprise Jessica on the midnight or wait untill morning?" Kate asked
" What you're staying too? Okay I didn't know that... Hey that's not a bad idea I think we have some party supplies here and knowing you, you probably have something allready planned as well."
" Well I had a feeling it might come down to this but I need to go get some things from home but I need you to distract Jessica meanwhile." Kate said
" Well it's not gonna be that hard as you could see..."
" Well good remember no word for Jessica and by the way if she asks what were we talking abaut you can say that we were talking what we are gonna eat dinner so any suggestions?"
" I think pizza could do don't you guys think?" Emma asked
" Why not... I think, I know what you both want so we are good on that. Oh and by the way Ross and Rachel if you're wondering it's Jessicas birthday tomorrow."
" Yeah Emma has mentioned it couple times and we are okay if celebrate it here. Emma has even a present for her, too bad we have not..." Ross said
" Mom, dad you guys have allready given your present to her, by letting her come here for the new year, that's bigger than anything else that you could have given her" Emma said with a smile
" Well I think we have wasted your time enough for now so why don't you go back we will call you when dinner is here, okay?" I asked and Emma nodded and hugged me as she went back to her room
Emmas POV
" So took you a while what did they want from you?" Jessica asked
" Well not much talked abaut evening and what to have for dinner and stuff like that. So nothing out of ordinary..." I said
" Well okay so what are we having?" Jes asked curiously
" We were planning pizza are you okay with that?" I asked pretty much knowing the answer
" Sure sounds good and I guess my mom knows what I want so no need for me there... Well fine if you don't want to tell everything it's okay. I trust you."
" Good how abaut if we continue this then..." I said as continued playing
Night went by and everything went complitely according to plan. Jes was complitely clueless abaut everything. Midnight approached and my parents asked to keep Jes in my room as long as possible... Abaut half hour before midnight our parents came to get us down...
" So how abaut if you girls come down with us? It's almost midnight and we have pepsi ready for you girls..." My mom said
" Well sounds good to me, so shall we?" I asked Jes
" Of course"
" So what is all this? You didn't have to do this much..." Jes asked coming down stairs and noticing that living room had decorated
" We decided to put festivities to this room, nothing wrong with it right?" My mom said back
" So what are we taking a toast for?" My mom asked
" How abaut to Jesse, my father I think he would be good person to start from..." Jes said and everyone agreed and cheered-
Half hour went by surprisingly fast it was allmost time for midnight count down and plan to also start celebrating Jessicas birthday...
" Hey look at that it's allmost midnight..." I said noticing it was almost time for countdown...
" You're right everyone ready 10,9,8,7,6" Jes startted
" 5,4,3,2,1. Happy new year" Everyone shouted my mom winked at me
" And by the way Jessica... Happy birthday to you..." I startted and a tear came almost immedeadly to her eye
" Happy birhtday to you, happy birhtday dear Jessica happy birthday to you" Everyone joined me Jes went speechless
" You guys... I don't even know what to say, but thank you. This means everything for me on the times like these. Thanks for having me and you didn't have to decorate this place for just me..."
" Well this is from me, I hope you like it..." I said giving a box for her
" Wow it beatiful thanks for this I'll wear it everyday" she said putting a silver necklace on
" And what would a birthday be without a cake..." Her mom said coming with cake
" So this what was that talking Emma was all abaut I was wondering what was going on... Hey thank you everyone this has been much better new year and birthday than I ever thought possible. And Emma I'll get you for this, you don't just plan surprise pracitically in front of me and then get away with that..." Jes said
" I can't wait..." I said to her
We celebrated her birthday and new year together and had much fun if you ask me it was the day that Jes woke up from the nightmare. It was one of the best nights of our lives so far... Well and it ended to a...
*End of flashback*
" Hey she doesn't need to know abaut it" Jes shouted as I was finishing my story
" I don't need to know abaut what?" Melissa asked clearly intrested
" Well we ended up kissing a little after bedtime, sorry Jes, but I think your girlfriend has right to know that she's not the first girl you've kissed..." I said trying to keep my coolness
" Oh and you said that didn't feel any attraction to other girl before me either..." Melissa said trying to keep her face straight
" You do realize that it was almost 10 years ago? Yeah maybe I should have told you but I didn't know that you would care" Jes said clearly a little worried.
" Hey it okay I don't care if you have kissed 9 years ago. Good to know that you have some history prior to us. Hey thanks for the history lesson this was seriously intresting..."
We finished coffees and went home, next day Jes lost her second match and was out of the tournament too bad but Jes was clearly happy being in top 8 and more importantly winning Melissa. Jes decided to take a little break from judo and let the dust settle on the whole coming out of the closet. She wanted to concentrate on her relationship, friends and mother...
Next time we start the finale of season/story arc 1 with the one with the anniverseries part one definetly atleast two parter... As allways follow favorite and review also as writer since well this story arc is coming close to end...
