Season 1 finale part 3: the one with pre big day
Emma's POV
I was shopping with my mom checking something to wear on the anniversery I haven't never been such a big fan of anything fancy, but decided to make a little exeption for my parents and maybe a little for my boyfriend too...
" You know if I didn't know better I would say that you are trying to impress someone..." My mom said as I tried on a pretty good looking dress
" What, do you think I don't wanna look good and a little fancy on your anniversery? I wanna look good you know..." I startted, realizing that this isn't gonna go this easily trough my mom...
" So it has nothing to do with one certain guy whose name starts with a D? It's okay if you want to look good for your boyfriend, just checking that you know what you're doing..."
" Mom relax I know what I'm doing and trust me last weekend didn't exactly raise my intentions to have sex with him yet..."
" You know that there is allways a chance for that to happen no matter what you do... Just be careful okay?"
" Yeah I know can we please not talk abaut it now... I would really just want to get something to wear tomorrow and get out of here I still have couple things to do before tomorrow..."
" Speaking of which... Are you gonna give any clues whats gonna happen?"
" I'm gonna give as much clues to you as you gave me abaut last weekend..."
" But we didn't give you any... Oh... So that's how you're gonna play, well fine just remember that you guys ended up having fun in the end..."
" And what makes you think you guys aren't gonna have fun I'm staying over night with Jes, Bella with Soph and Jake with Monica so you have the house to only you guys for after party... And trust me I have pretty fun plans for you guys for party as well but I'm gonna keep my mouth shut abaut those..."
" So no clues huh, fine then, but nothing too insane, okay?" Mom asked and that actually reminded me abaut something
" Speaking of that... I kinda needed to ask you abaut couple things..." I startted with a little scare
" Well go on, judging your face I'm not gonna like either of them, but I'll humor you and atleast hear you out..." Mom said with a serious face
" Well you know how you ruined Dad and Emilys wedding?"
" Yeeah..."
" I was thinking could you let dad have one dance with Emily? I mean it would show how well you're truly over the past..."
" Do I even have to say that you're nuts? Why would they do that they had their chance they're not taking ours and besides I didn't dance with your dad on their wedding..."
" Yeah you just flew to Creece on their honeymoon... I think you still owe it to them. Of course if you're too jealous then I guess we can be without that too, but that would be kinda stupid don't you think?" I said
" Who told you abaut me going to Creece? And I'm not jealous it's just that..."
" Yeah right and you maybe should think who you're talking to, that doesn't go through to anyone even less to me... I've heard your story abaut a million times that also includes your trip to Creece..."
" Well fine I guess if your father is gonna agree with it then I'll let him dance with her..."
" And you can't threaten him with anything also, okay? I'm gonna ask from him why he doesn't wanna do it, if he decides not to..."
"Damnit" Mom said clearly it wasn't meant for to hear
" Did you say something? Did I see straight through you? Sorry abaut that I know you both way too well to let you do something like that..."
" Fine what abaut the second thing, can't be much worse than this, can I just take that and not let Ross dance with Emily"
" Well I could take that offer but I think you want to hear first my second thng to ask..." I said knowing that my mother is probably gonna hate the second idea even more
"*Sigh* Fine tell me"
" Well Jessicas mom isn't taking that well, her being gay, so I decided to dedicate one dance with boys dancing with boys and girls with girls, I was thinking I wont force anyone to participate to it. I t's just to show her that we are behind her..." I startted but got cut off
" Okay I'll ask Monica or Phoebe you know I have even kissed a girl before this so this isn't so bad... So okay I'll take this over Ross dancing with Emily any day..."
" Do you really think I would make it that easy for you, if I give you that kind of out to keep your jealousy act up... If dad can't have one dance with Emily, then you're gonna, your call, I'm fine either way. I would appreciate both, but I don't think I'm gonna have both so I'll settle just for one..."
" So you're basicly giving two ideas to choose from and you know that I hate them both... Your testing your luck missy. Can I think abaut this?" Mom asked
" Sure, but keep in mind that it's gonna be tomorrow so I want answer by tomorrow morning ... Now I have to go with the girls" I said taking my dress and leaving.
Rachels POV
God what I'm gonna do with that girl. She tries so much to get us to be friends with Emily but I don't know, if I can do this... I thought to myself but got interupted.
" So Mrs Geller are you done with your daughter? You would have just one last customer who especially asked your help... It would fit in to your day..." My boss startted
" Well yeah it's okay of course send him/her in, I'll take care of it..." I said back
" Yeah well here she is..."
" Hello Rachel, thanks for taking me" I heard way too familiar british accent...
"Well this day gets better by the minute, so what can I do for you?" I said with sarcasm
" Could I get that last part without sarcasm or do I have to tell your bosses that you can't keep private life and work apart?"
" Sorry abaut that I shouldn't be mad to you it wasn't your idea afterall..." I startted
" What wasn't my idea?" Emily asked
" We can talk abaut it later, so what do you need?"
" Well I came both talk to you and to look for something to wear tomorrow..."
" Well sure I'll help you what if I buy you a dinner afterwards? " I decided to offer
" What are you trying to do?" She asked me
I explained the whole thing what Emma asked from me and what she was planning Emily seemed to get an idea...
"What if we invite the young lovers with us to our dinner? I think it's time that we have a little fun with them..." Emily said with a smile
" I think I know what you are trying to do but we better let Daniel to invite Emma, otherwise she might catch on..." I said knowing that Emma might be on her toes...
" I think that chance exist no matter what but I think you're right I can't wait to see Daniels face when she has to ask him to dance with another guy... Well let's hope it doesn't result too bad of a fight..."
" True but true love should be able to handle that..."
" Well look at that speaking of my son..." Emily said taking out her phone that rang...
" Well put him on speaker"
" Sure, hi Daniel" Emily startted
" Hi mom, are you gonna take long, I was thinking abaut do I make dinner myself or are you coming soon?" Daniel asked
" Yeah I was planning having dinner out today I'll come to give you money before I go so you can too if you want. I was just buying something for tomorrow I'll be off here soon" Emily said
" Are you having a date or something? If so with who?"
" No I'm just having a dinner with a woman friend of mine today I'll tell you more when I come home... See you later love you bye." Emily said
" Okay, bye " Dan answered and hang up the phone
" You know as crazy as it may sound we might actually catch both of them of guard." I said as Emily winked at me
Daniels POV
I was waiting my mom home since I was more than curious has she made a new friend or something she probably is going with someone from her work... Well she came home and shouted from hall
" Hi Daniel I'm home"
" Hi mom, so everything allright I'm just curious who you're going dinner with?" I asked knowing that she usually knows in the morning if she doesn't eat at home dinner
" You wouldn't believe me if I told you so I'll just leave you some money..." She said and slapped a fifty to my hand
" Well try me and you do realize this is a fifty much more than I'll need..."
" Well with your future mother-in law, you happy now? And you're a smart boy you know what I'm going for with that money. We are going to that new italian place." My mom said, I smelled a rat...
" My what, you do realize I'm still going out with Emma don't you? You're not gonna say that she volunteerly asked you dinner with her? What are you truly up to? You know that there is more to this than there is to the eye as Emma would put it, besides you just gave me the money you know I could do anything I want with this..."
" Yeah why don't you tell the story to Emma and ask what she thinks. I think she will get too curious to let this go without checking it. Face it Daniel if you tell Emma what I told you, you are both gonna have to face us... Unfortinatly for you I'm not gonna tell what's truly going on..." My mom said I realized that I was trapped... So I better go see Emma
" God dammit, you know us too well... Well make that dinner reservation for 4 we will take your bait..."
" Allready have, but you guys pay from that money, okay? I'll see you later..." My mom said with a wicked smile and left
I went to Emmas place I didn't know what to expect I knew that I wont face both of them alone... To my surprise Jessica opened the door
" Hi Dan, everything okay?" She startted
ยจ" Yeah just abaut, I trust Emma is home?"
" Of course do you want me to get her or do you come in we're all here me, Alex and Emma"
" Why don't I come in actually, I think that we could use some outside ears for this..."
" Okay well by all means come in" She said and we went to upstairs...
" Emma your boyfriend is here" She said when we got to her rooms door
" Oh hi Dan, everything allright? You look somewhat worried" Emma startted and came to kiss me
" Confused is better word than worried, I need to talk abaut something..." I startted
I explained what happend and what my mom asked us to do. Emma and girls were clearly intrested what was going on...
" So wait you're basicly saying that my mom offered volunteerly dinner to your mom and they are asking us to join them? Something doesn't add up, you're right they're up to something, unfortinatly we have no choice, but to take the bait, if we want to know what's going on..." Emma said knowing that now there is no idea that we could do other than go with them...
" Well are you girls okay if I borrow my girlfriend for a dinner?"
" Well you make it sound like you don't really have a choice, so I think we can handle this without Emma being around for awhile" Jes said
" Call if you need anything." Emma said as we left
" Hey be careful... "Alex shouted to us
We startted to walk towards restaurant and Emma seemed to be in her toughts, understandable of course she hates not to know what she is getting herself into... I decided to try to get her to open up...
" Hey everything is gonna be okay, whatever those two have been planning we can counter." I said
" I know just that I hate not to know what the heck are those two up to. I have a feeling I'm missing something complitely obvious, I'm not sure what though. Just he fact that those two are working together gets me somewhat worried, have I done something to piss your mother..." Emma stopped looking like she realized something
" What? Did you get an idea what's going on?" I asked anxiously
" It's a longshot but I think that's the only reason I can think of that your mother would even consider turning against me..." Emma said
" Well I think that's the bestshot what we have so tell me what have you done? You know I hear it rather from you than my mother, don't give her any advantage that she doesn't allready have..."
Emma explained the whole thing abaut her one dance where girls dance with girls and boys with boys and asked if I wanted to participate and she also told that she asked our mothers to dance together I told her that I will consider it and talk with Jack abaut it... We decided to teach our mothers to mess with us a little before something like this... We got to the restaurant.
" Can I help you young people?" Maitre'd asked us
" Yes I believe we're being expected. Emma Geller and Daniel Waltham." Emma said
" Oh yes this way and Mr. Waltham"
" Daniel, Emma how nice of you to join us." My mom began
" Well thanks for inviting us, I guess. Would have been nice to know why first though..." Emma said
" What we can't invite you two for a dinner without you two thinking that there is more to this? We're insulted" Our mothers said
" You know I should be insulted that you even try something like this, but fine let's see what you two have in your sleeves, you can't surprise us and you know that..." Emma said
" So is everything ready for tomorrow from your part?" Rachel asked Emma
" Yeah just abaut, girls are doing finishing touches to one thing and I think it's just abaut ready now..." Emma said
" So does your boyfriend know everything that's gonna happen?" My mom asked Emma looked at me with a " I was right" look
" Pretty much, allthough have to say if this is the way you try to get more info abaut tomorrow I'm kinda sad..." Emma said
" So he also knows that you're gonna dance with your bestfriend and You ask him to dance with another guy, have to say takes balls..." Rachel startted we had allready decided to make a little fireworks for them if they don't do them for us
" Emma are you out of your mind when were you planing on telling me this? I'm not gonna dance with a guy..." I tried to sound pissed off I realized that this was gonna be a lot harder than I thought...
" I didn't think you were that homophobic... I don't force you to dance, but you can be sure if my bestfried has some troubles I'm gonna help her. I was gonna tell you later but then you came with this whole thing and I forgot the whole thing. If you want to be all bitch abaut it then don't do it, but don't think for a second that I wouldn't do it" Emma said trying to keep her face straight
" Hey guys take it easy, don't fight over something as stupid as this..." Rachel startted
" Why do you care? Didn't you want this to happen and us to break up?" Emma asked
" No, When are you gonna realize that I want you two to stay together and you to be happy, Emma? That's why I wanted to have dinner with Emily just so we can be together and let go of the past." Rachel said and Emma startted smiling
" Finally, you realize it mom... What I've been waiting for you to say... Now I can finally believe that you're okay us dating..." Emma said smiling wider than ever before
" Wait what do you mean, why only now?"
" You said that you wanted me to be happy... First time since I startted dating. You have no idea how happy that makes me... I don't need you two to be bestfriends I just need my mom to be happy for me..." Emma said
" Too bad it probably cost you your relationship..." Rachel said
" Are you sure abaut that, mom? Or could it be that this went just as I planned?" Emma said and gave me a look and we kissed like never before
" No way..." Came from both of them
" You didn't think that you caught us off guard, now did you?"
" Will I ever be able to catch you off guard? I'm guessing not..." Rachel said
" Well closest thing you can think was last weekend but even there you needed someone elses help... Alone you must be extremely careful if you want to do it..." Emma said
" Yeah sure but mark my words I will outsmart you one day..." Rachel sadi
" I can't wait" Emma said
We ate and left we companied Emma to her house... We were saying goodbyes.
" So I guess I see you tomorrow?" I said kissing her
" I'll count on it, but just in case you miss me before tomorrow how abaut I'll give you something to think abaut: if you think I was beatiful on our last date you haven't seen anything yet. Be prepeared to see a whole new side of me..." Emma said and kissed me
" Quite a promise..."
" And I plan on delivering, trust me. So 'till tomorrow..."
Emmas POV
I got back home being happier than in long time, that of course didn't go past the girls...
" So you're back, your dinner was good if your face is any indication. So tell us what happend? Everything is just abaut ready here for tomorrow..." Jes said
"Thanks girls for doing all this, well let's just say I finally think that my mom is okay with me and Dan dating. So yeah dinner was just abaut perfect" I said
" So they didn't try anything fancy?" Alex asked
" They tried, but you guys know me we gaught on and had a little fun with those two. They tried to play around with the whole gay dance..."
" Even you aren't crazy enough to ask those two to dance together are you?" Jes asked me in disbelief
" Indeed I am... And from what I understood they even accepted it." I said
" I won't believe that before I see it..."
" Trust me I'm not sure either, but I hope that they are gonna..."
" Well we shall see..."
We finished everything and they showed everything that they had done mom came home and was clearly a little confused why we had done so much stuff allready, she came to knock on my door...
" Hey it's me can I come in?" Mom asked from behind the door
" Sure, it's open" I said back
" So you girls have appearently gotten everything finished, so what can I do?" My mom asked
" How abaut relax and wait for what happens tomorrow?" I said, trying to avoid any further questions...
" Or how abaut I borrow your friends and set something up for you?" Mom asked looking at girls
" Well let her have her fun. Go with her I'll take it."
" You know that level of confidence of yours is gonna be your undoing."
" Might be but you know that I don't take chances if I can't take the worst case scenario..."
" Which in this case is...?"
" No idea but if you have to get those two to help you then it can't be all bad..."
" Well we see what she has and we'll be off afterwards, so see you tomorrow?" Jes asked me
" Yeah sure, see you later"
Next morning I woke up early. To see that evedrything will go smoothly, little did I know that this day was gonna hold more than it seemed...
But what's gonna happen? Well I decided to cut this last part in to two since appearenly I just can't write little prologue for a party... and I didn't want to make this like 7000 words so I decided that if next chapter is gonna be a little shorter, so be it. This story has had enough long chapters...
