Edward nodded and agreed with her before walking out of the den with his cell phone.
Alice came over to me.
"Oh Bella, I will miss you. You are so much more than my best friend, you are my sister and I love you," she cried.
"I will miss you too. I love you," I said emotionally.
Alec came over to me and took me into his arms.
"Bells, if he does not treat you well let me know. I will come back and kick his ass. I love you baby sis," he whispered into my ear.
I pulled back and glared daggers at him.
"Baby sis! I am two minutes younger that you. Sometimes you make it sound like there are two years between us," I told him.
Before he could reply, Edward came back into the room.
"I spoke to Emmett. He is expecting us tomorrow," he said as he looked at me.
Chapter 21
EPOV
I could not believe how crazy my life was. It was as if the gods were waiting for the exact moment that I was happy and then with a giant boom suddenly everything in my life was turned up side down and inside out.
Emmett was surprised to hear from me but was only too happy to have Bella and I come stay with him and Rose, with two conditions. The first was to contact the police and give a statement so that they would have it all on record in case, god forbid, something worse happened in the future. Second, he thought that I should hire a bodyguard for Bella to make sure that she would be alright, especially when I was unable to be with her.
Seth knew Bella from when she lived at home in Forks and they got on well. Seth and Sam were not only my bodyguards, they were also my best friends. I had given them some time off until I started my new film, but I would have to have Seth finish his holiday early because I did not trust anyone else with Bella's safety.
I am ashamed to say that I had not thought about reporting the incident to the police, but the more I thought about it the better I thought it would be for Bella. The only thing to do now was to inform Esme that I would be involving the police.
I turned to face Esme and asked her if I could talk to her in private. She nodded, I kissed Bella on the cheek and we left the Den to go into the kitchen.
We sat at the kitchen table, but she guessed what I was going to say just from the expression on my face.
"Edward if you're thinking about getting the police involved then I am right behind you," she said.
I nodded before speaking.
"Yeah that is one of the things I was thinking about. The second is that I have two bodyguards that I do not need. I did not really need two and can make due wit one. So I thought that Seth Clearwater might be able to help and protect Bella instead of guarding me."
She tilted her head to the left as if she was thinking.
"The Seth Clearwater who lives in La Push, right next to Forks?" she asked.
"Yes, that is correct. He is also one of my best friends and I would not trust anyone else to protect Bella," I said with a firm nod.
"Ok then, I am putting the safety of Bella and the twins in your hands. I am going to trust you with this," she said, patting my cheek before going back into the Den.
I waited until she was gone before taking my cell phone from my pocket and ringing the number for the lost hills patrol station right here in Malibu.
"Hello, Captain Micheal Leeroy speaking!"
I took a deep breath before speaking.
"Hello, this is Edward Masen. I need to file a complant about a girl who is harassing both myself and my pregnant girlfriend," I said desperately.
"Yes sir, can you give me your address ," he asked.
"Yes my address is 30804 Broad Beach Rd, Malibu," I said breathlessly.
"Thank you sir. We will have someone to your location within the next half hour," he said before hanging up.
I hung up the phone and quickly dialled the number of one of my best friends.
"Hi butt-head, what are you up to?"
"Seth, I know that I promised you time with your family for the next few weeks but I really and truly need your help," I stated desperately.
"Sure buddy. Is everything alright?"
I quickly went into details about Emily being back in the picture and how she was so crazy that I was worried for Bella and the twins. I pretty much begged him to come back and protect Bella immediately, I even offered to pay him double his salary. But being the good friend that he was he wouldn't hear of it and said that he would be on the next available flight out of Seattle.
I hung up the phone after telling him that we would be at Emmett's. I was already feeling a whole lot lighter knowing that no matter what happened, Bella would be protected by someone I knew and trusted.
I put my cell phone back into my pocket before going back into the den where everyone was waiting for me.
BPOV
I watched as Edward walked back into the room after speaking with Esme. He came straight over and sat next to me before taking my hand in his.
"Bella, I've got a few things I need to tell you."
"First, I just contacted Lost Hills patrol station and two of their officers will be here within the next half hour. I believe that it is within our best interests to make a formal statement to them about Emily and her mother," he said, bitting his lip.
I noticed that Eleazer froze at the mention of Carmen, but I put that to the back of my mind for now. Edward deserved my full attention. He was going through a lot at the moment and, he was trying so hard to make sure that I would be Ok.
I nodded, understanding that we needed to make a statement about Emily and Carmen, He continued to speak.
"Second, I have contacted Seth and he is finishing his holiday early to come back and protect you," he muttered, looking down at the floor.
I started to protest, but Edward knew what I was going to say so he put his hand up to stop me.
"I know what you are going to say but trust me baby, I will feel better knowing that you are safe. Especially when I go back to work and cannot be with you all the time. Bella, you, our son and daughter are the most important people in my life. I would not be able to live with myself knowing that something happened to the three of you, especially when I could have done something to prevent it. Please take this protection, at least for my own piece of mind?" he asked desperately.
I nodded before we heard someone ringing the front door bell.
Alec jumped up and walked to the door. I could hear faint voices as they came back into the room.
"Edward, these two are officers from the Lost Hills patrol station," Alec said.
Edward got up before helping me to stand next to him.
"Hello, I am Edward Masen and this is my girlfriend Isabella Swan," he said to the officers before sticking his hand out for them to shake.
"Nice to meet you Mr Masen. I am Officer Wright and this is my partner, Officer Simmons," he said while shaking Edward's hand. by my side.
They nodded respectfully at me before sitting down. I sat oppostite them with Edward by my side.
After explaining about Emily and how crazy both she and her mother were for twenty minutes, they finally had enough information to arrest them for harassment and to grant us a restraining order against both of them.
"One more thing. Is this the only place I will be able to contact Mrs Carmen Platt and her daughter?" they asked.
I saw from the corner of my eye that Eleazer stiffened when he heard his wifes name.
"Erm, I should tell you that Carmen Platt is my wife and that is the address of our home. I have never met her daughter and I do not want to," Eleazer said his entire body shaking with the nerves.
The officers were going to speak but Esme spoke before them.
"Officer's, my brother did not know about any of this until I contacted him today and told him the whole story. He has not been home since so this has nothing to do with him."
Officer Wright briefly glanced at officer at his partner before nodding.
"Ok Mr Platt. We will not involve you, but I suggest that you do not return home unless you want to be charged as an accessory."
Esme put her hand on his shoulder before speaking to the officers.
"He can stay with us," she said kindly.
They both nodded before leaving. I jumped when I heard the door bang shut, it was enough to make the babies move and kick like mad.
I placed my hand over my stomach and started rubbing circles with the tips of my fingers. Edward sat down next to me after seeing the officers to the door and placed his hand over mine on my stomach.
"Are you alright? Do you need anything?" he asked with concern.
"I only need sleep. It has been such a long day and I am so tired," I yawned. Edward looked over at Esme and Alice before speaking to them quickly.
"I don't know if I want Bella sleeping here and she still has to pack her belongings before she leaves with you tomorrow," Esme said with a worried expression.
"Mum, leave Bella here to sleep. She is ready to collapse and it has been a long day. I will pack her belongings," Alice said.
I looked over at Alice, smiling at her gratefully.
"Esme, my guest room is all set up. Like Alice was saying, it has been a long day and Bella is exhausted. She needs to keep up her strength for both herself and the babies," Edward said.
Esme looked between Alice and Edward before nodding, saying that it was alright for me to stay.
I closed my eyes and before I knew it sleep overtook me.

I yawned as I rolled over in what had to be the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. I slowly opened my eyes before looking around the strange room, wondering where the hell I was before everything that happened yesterday came back to me in a big rush.
Knock Knock!
Before I could ask who it was, my favourite little pixie stuck her head in the door.
"Oh goody, your awake," she said before opening the door wider and walking in.
She put a big suitcase down on the floor before coming over to me and sitting on the edge of the bed.
"How are you holding up? I was really worried yesterday after we came face to face with that psychopath," she said, looking concerned.
"I will be alright. I admit that I am scared for Edward. I do not think that this is over and I know that Emily is not out of our lives yet," I said sadly.
Alice put her hand on my shoulder while looking at me affectionally.
"You know that I will always be here for you Bells, even though you are moving in with Edward at his brothers house," she said.
She then removed her hand and stood up.
"Why don't you go in and have a nice relaxing shower while I put together an outfit for you to wear today," she said before handing me my tolietres and bathrobe from my suitcase.
I smiled at her before turning to go into the bathroom. I stepped into the walk in shower before turning the water on hot. I stood under the shower head while the steaming hot water fell down, thinking about how excited I was to be leaving with Edward. Of course I don't want to be away from Alice, Jasper or Esme, but Edward had shown me in just a few weeks what kind of man he was underneath that playboy image and I loved him all the more for it. I was so happy that I gave him a chance to prove himself to be the wonderful man he was and how good of father that he could be.
I was jolted out of my daydreams when I felt the water turn cold. I reached up to quickly turn it off before reaching for a towel and wrapping it around me.
I walked back into the bedroom only to find Alice sitting on my bed with a blue dungaree dress and black tank top , along with a pair of lace panties with a matching bra.
"You're welcome," she said smugly before leaving the room.
I sighed in defeat as I started to blowdry my hair and put it up into a ponytail. I quickly dressed in the clothes that Alice had left out for me and then slipped on a pair of thongs.
I checked myself in the mirror to make sure that I looked respectable before I walked downstairs to where Edward was with the rest of my family.
I walked into the den only to find everyone there along with the two officers from the day before, Steven Wright and Richard Simmons.
They both stood up to greet me as I walked in and sat down next to Edward. He reached over, taking my hand into his while gently rubbing his thumb over the back of it and looking at me lovingly.
The two officer's sat back down before looking over at me.
"Miss Swan, we need to give you a quick recap of what we have been telling Mr Masen. We went to the residents of Mrs Carmen Platt, she is now in a holding cell until her bail hearing. We have charged her with harassement and the threat to do bodily harm. However she refuses to give us the whereabouts of Miss Emily Hunter, so we have issued a warrent out for her arrest," Officer Wright said.
I nodded while tears fell from my eyes. Edward's hand left mine and found it's way around my shoulder as he held me tight.
"We have however given both you and Mr Masen an order of protection against Miss Hunter and Mrs Platt," the officer continued.
"Erm, Bella and I will be going to stay with my brother for a while and I have arranged for Bella to have some protection. So if you need to contact us, you can find us at this address," Edward said while handing a piece of paper to the officer.
"Thank you Mr Masen. That is most helpful. We will be in touch," Officer Simmons said before standing up to leave with Officer Wright. Edward stood up and shook their hands before Esme saw them to the door.
I heard the door close before Esme came back in the room.
"What time will you both be leaving for your brother's house?" she asked Edward.
Edward looked at me while giving me a small smile.
"Are you all set to leave love?"
I looked over at Alice and noticed that she was not her usual quirky self. I knew that she was going to miss me just as much as I was going to miss her but I had to do this. Emily knew my face and knew where Edward and I were staying. I had to put my babies safety first and make sure that no harm came to them.
I looked back at Edward and gave him a weak smile.
"Yeah, but can you give me some time?" I asked before looking over at Alice. Edward followed my glance and nodded in understanding.
"Take all the time you need love. I will take the bags out to the car," he said before lifting my right hand to his lips and kissing my knuckles.
I watched him walk out with our bags before making my way over to Alice and pulling her in close for a bear hug.
"I am going to miss you Ali," I said tearfully.
She nodded into my shoulder, neither one of us willing to pull away.
"I will miss you too Belly-Bell," she said using the nickname that she gave me when we were only eleven years old.
I finally pulled away to look at Alice, her eyes were full of tears.
"It is not like you're going to mars. Jasper will be working with Edward and Emmett on set in a few weeks, so maybe I will be able to come and see you while they are working and we can go shopping," she said before pulling me into her arms for another hug.
"I love you, Ali. You're not only my best friend but my sister. I won't be away from you for too long," I said as I cried into her shoulder.
I suddenly felt a pressence behind me. I pulled away and looked behind me only to find Edward standing there with a sad smile on his face. Alice walked towards him only to slap him gently across the face.
"Remember this Edward Masen, if you hurt her in any way I will hit you harder and make sure that you will never be able to get another woman pregnant," she said fiercely.
"I promise you that I will guard and protect her with my life, If I ever do hurt her again then I will welcome you beating the shit out of me," he smiled.
Alice nodded in understanding before making her way to the front door.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Well your carriage awaits, my fair lady," he joked, offering me his arm as we made our way outside to his Volvo v40.
I spent the next ten minutes saying goodbye to Alec, knowing that he was going home to Forks the next day. He told me that he was not happy with our parents and promised me that he would back to see me as soon as heavenly possible.
After saying a round of goodbyes to everyone else, Edward and I were finally on the road heading towards Emmett and Rose's home in the Hollywood Hills.
I started to read my book, while Edward drove us to our new temporary home. I noticed that he was repeatedly looking at me, as if I was the only girl in the world and that I might disappear. I cannot wait to meet our son and daughter, all I can say is thank you for giving me this chance and for trusting me with our children," he said emotionally.
I gave him a bright smile before going back to my book. Neither one of us said another word for the remainder of the journey.
Finally we pulled up outside a Mediterranean estate with impeccable design. As soon as I saw the house, I got very excited about exploring the place.
Edward got out before making his way over to the my side of the car to help me out. Suddenly, before I could take a step I was pulled into a giant bear hug.
"Bella it is so good to see you looking so well," Emmett squeezed.
"Em, you are holding her too tight! Be a little more gentle," Edward growled.
Emmett gave me one last squeeze before letting me go and started to help Edward unload our luguage.
Rose came running out of the house and pulled me in for a hug.
"Bella I know that we have only met once at the premiere in Seattle, but I already feel like you are one of my best friends and I know that we are going to have some fun together," she said excitedly.
She put her arm around my shoulder as we made our way inside.
To say that I was completely amazed when I walked through the doors of their home would be an understatement.
The first thing that I noticed was the spacious formal dining, a living room with French doors and windows that captured the view of the valley and the gorgeous hills in the distance.
Rose led me through the great room to the open and airy Kitchen. It had maple cabinets, pantry and stainless steel appliances including a six-burner stove, dishwasher and double oven.
"This kitchen is my pride and joy. It is the one place where I can unwind," Rose smiled proudly while showing me around.
I suddenly felt Edward's arms wrapped around my waist as he whispered in my ear.
"Rose is a gourmet cook and her kitchen is her salvation. Nobody would dare mess around with it."
Rose gave a little chuckle before linking her arm with mine.
"Come on Bella, let me show you where you will be staying," she said before leading me towards the mid-century guest house. It had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with breathtaking floor to ceiling glass windows and a view of the hillside. I looked around and noticed that it had wood floors, a wood-burning fireplace and a natural slate patio.
I looked at Rose asking her with my eyes why she was putting me in this beautiful haven. She seemed to understand what I was asking without words.
"Bella you are twenty one weeks pregnant. I thought that this place would be perfect for both you and Edward. You will have your own bedroom and he will still be close enough so that if you ever need him he is avaliable, especally for midnight runs. Also there is plenty of room here for Seth," she said pointing at a sofa bed.
I completely forgot about Seth and the fact that Edward had hired him to protect me. I was so grateful that Rose and Emmett were been so accomadating, especially as we were invading their home.
I pulled her in for a hug while muttering thank you over and over again.
"I will leave you to get settled in. Dinner will be ready in half an hour so I expect to see you up at the main house then," she said before turning to leave.
I walked into the bedroom with the best view and found that my belongings were already there. I looked through my suitcase and pulled out a pair of yoga pants and tank top as well as my bathrobe and tolietriees.
I went into the bathroom to have a quick seven minute shower. I could hear someone coming into the guesthouse as I got out and threw on my bathrobe. I walked out of the bathroom and came face to face with Edward. He stood there, his eyes dark and full of lust as he looked me up and down.
