Chapter 12

Kisa was having a lousy day at work. Every one of his authors was dragging behind this month, and he was running out of energy to deal with their bullshit. He was well into his eighth month of pregnancy and was so tired all the time. Beside him Ritsu was looking positively miserable. He knew Ritsu should have already took his maternity leave but didn't because Takano wanted to be able to watch over him. Kisa believed Ritsu wasn't feeling well at all today and should go home to rest. Right at that moment Ritsu doubled over in pain.

"Damnit ahh oh shit! Takano help!" Ritsu screamed the last.

Takano almost fell in his haste to get to his lover.

"What is it Ritsu? Are you ok? "

"No you stupid Bastard! I'm not alright!" He paused huffing for breath.

"It's time, get me to the hospital unless you want our children to born on this damn floor!" He gritted out the words as tears leaked from his eyes.

Takano helped him to his feet and Mino rushed to get the elevator. Kisa watched in horror as Ritsu stopped and growled in pain. The contraction finally passed and they continued on.

"Good luck Takano-san, and Rit-chan!" Kisa yelled enthusiastically. Takano nodded as they left.

After the two left Kisa had a mini break down and had to run to the bathroom. He stood there at the sink and cried. God what was wrong with him! Ritsu would be ok. He had Takano with him, so yeah he'd be fine. Somehow through he still felt bad, and decided to go home early. He dried his eyes and walked back into the office. Mino and Hatori were looking worried too.

"Hatori-san, Mino-san I'm sorry but I have to get out of here." Kisa said still wanting to cry.

"Go Kisa, and I suggest you start your leave soon, because it's tiring you out." Hatori said matter of fact.

"Yeah Kisa-san. It's not good for you or the baby, so start your leave. "Mino smiled.

Kisa nodded. "Ok, but I can still help from at home, so just let me know."

They both nodded and Kisa said his good-byes and left. Kisa texted Yukina to let him know he was going home. Yukina texted back that he should take a cab and that he would be home soon. Kisa smiled; maybe he'd be alright after all.

Yukina walked in the apartment worried. Kisa leaving work early was unusual and made Yukina think maybe something was wrong. As he looked around he didn't see his love so he went to check their bedroom. In the middle of the bed he saw a sleeping Kisa, and Yukina smiled. He climbed onto the bed and lay down facing Kisa. His lover looked so young in sleep and peaceful. Young he always looked but peace was really scarce for the editor. Why his love would work such a stressful job was beyond him, but Kisa was so good at his job. Yukina figured that Kisa's editing was like his art a vital part of himself that was impossible to ignore. He just wanted his lover to slow down and not push himself so hard, but that was wishful thinking. Maybe the baby would help Kisa remember that work was not the be all and end all of life.

Kisa awoke to a hand stroking his hair. Kou he thought, as if it could be anyone else. He felt so much better now that his love was beside him.

"How long you been back Kou." Kisa asked.

"Just a few minutes. Are you ok, you hungry?"

"Not right now."

Kisa snuggled up to Yukina as he lover massaged his bulging stomach. Their daughter kicked gently acknowledging his presence.

"I started my maternity leave today. Oh and Ritsu went into labor at work."

"I'm glad you decided to take it now, but is Onodera-san OK?"

"I hope so. I'll text Takano tomorrow to check. But man you should have seen him freaking. Well as much as I've ever seen anyway." Kisa laughed.

"I'm sure I will probably freak out too when it's our turn." Yukina said.

"Yeah right!"

Later as they were setting down to eat Kisa got a text from Takano. It said that their twin girls had arrived safe and that Ritsu was just fine. He also wanted Kisa to come by to see them at the hospital. Kisa texted back that he would come by tomorrow for a visit.

"What was that all about Shouta?" Yukina asked.

"It was a message from Takano-san. He and Ritsu had twin girls and everyone is fine. "

"That's great Shouta!" Yukina said happy.

"He and Ritsu invited us to the hospital to visit tomorrow."

"I can't wait to meet your boss and co-worker. Oh and we should stop and get them gifts for the babies too. "Kisa nodded.

The next day Kisa and Yukina went to the hospital after first purchasing two little pink and white outfits for the twins. They knocked on the room's door and Kisa heard Takano say come in. Kisa walked in to see the sweetest sight he'd ever seen. His rough and tough boss was sitting beside his lover on the bed cuddling one baby while Ritsu fed the other.

"Wow, Takano-san has a sweet side." Kisa said snickering.

Ritsu and Takano looked up at this and Takano frowned. Yukina frowned at his lover.

"Shouta don't be so rude." He scolded.

"Well Kisa it's good to see you are with someone with manners." Takano said sternly.

"It's good of you to come by Kisa-san." Ritsu said smiling. "I see you brought a friend with you."

Kisa blushed at this.

"Yes Rit-chan. This is my lover Yukina Kou." He then turned to Kou.

"Kou this is Onodera Ritsu and Takano Masamune. Takano is my boss and Ritsu is my co-worker."

"Ritsu is also my lover, partner, and mother of our two precious angels." Takano said making Ritsu blush.

"Masamune! Would you quit that?" Ritsu said smacking Takano on his arm. Then turning to Kisa and Yukina he smiled.

"It's nice to meet you Yukina-san. So you must be the father of Kisa-san's baby."

Yukina sparkled at Ritsu so much he thought he might need sunglasses.

"Yes I am." He walked over to peer down at the twins. "They are beautiful. May I ask what you named them?"

Kisa walked over too and looked at the babies. One was black haired and the other brown. Kisa betted one would look like Takano and the other Ritsu. They were cute though. He only hoped his own little girl would look like Kou.

"Thank-you. This is Mitsu who has Masamune's hair but my eyes, and this is Riku who of course has my hair but his eyes."

Yukina smiled at this. "So they are an even mix of you both. I just hope our little girl will look like Shouta."

Kisa was stunned at this. Why would Kou want their kid to look like him, when Kou was the beautiful one? But as he was about to voice his complaint a pain shot through his lower stomach and he doubled over in pain. Yukina grabbed Kisa as he groaned in pain.

"Shouta what is it? Are you ok?" Yukina was scared.

Kisa tried to breathe through the pain as Yukina rubbed his back.

"Get a doctor Kou." Kisa gasped as he collapsed. The last thing he heard was Yukina screaming.

"Don't leave me Shouta please!"

Author's Note : Sorry for the long wait, but I am working on the last few chapters trying to figure out an ending. And I hope you don't mind the cliffhanger. Just wait cuz it's not over yet, I'll try to update soon. Please review !
