Fire Across The Galaxy

part 10

Author's note: Yes guys, this is the final part. Yes you heard me. After months and months on this fanfic, it is ending. I'm kinda sad its ending as, for the longest time, this has been that story I feel very comfortable writing like it's very easy to write, ya know? I love you guys so much for all the followers and favorites and reviews for this story. Enjoy!

P.S Stay tuned for more Master and Apprentice, perhaps a sequel to this, and Dawn Awakening. DA may or may not be about a certain twil'lek and gunslinger Jedi force-sensitive kidwho's name may or may not be Dawn Syndulla-Jarrus. * Wink Wink *

The lighting in the supply closet was dim, casting dark shadows across the shelves and two figures. The outline of a twil'lek and an torgurta stand tensely in the humid and cluttered closet. It was the best room Ahsoka, the torgurta, could find to speak alone with Hera. Ahsoka tried to ignore it but even the rebel command ship had ears and eyes everywhere. Commander Sato didn't like secrets on his ship, well unless he was in on them. Hera had suggested her ship in a hurried whisper as they passed down the corridor but Ahsoka had said no. The rest of Hera's crew, minus Kanan, were their trying to catch some sleep after the events of yesterday. And the Ghost's walls are too thin.

Leaning against the only wall empty of shelves, arms crossed across her chest as drops of sweat roll down her forehead, Ahsoka listens to Hera speak, retelling everything that had happened with the pilot. Ahsoka had already heard the story multiple times but she couldn't resist hearing it once more. A small smile or remembrance crosses her lips as she thinks of someone else that talented at flying. "The best pilot in the galaxy," The words softly slip out of her lips.

Hera speaks, shaking Ahsoka out of her memories, asking, "Best pilot in the galaxy? Who are you talking about?" Ahsoka shakes her head, "No one just.. my old master." Her words come out softly as the face of Anakin Skywalker swims across her mind. What she wouldn't give to be back with him in the good old days. Not in this future where the Empire ruled with an iron fist and her master was long gone, most likely killed when the clone troopers stormed the Temple. A tear slides down her cheek at the thought, admits the sweat. Sensing she was on a sensitive subject, Hera rests her hand on Ahsoka's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze, saying gently "It's ok Ahsoka. Now, what was it that you wanted to talk about?"

Ahsoka wipes away the tear with a brush of her hand as Hera takes back the hand, knowing Ahsoka was over the sad memories of her past. "Yes, the pilot. Ezra told me he and Kanan had sensed an immense coldness from him. I believe he, well.. I have had experience with lords of the Sith and I know he is not an Inquisitor, no. I believe him to be.. a Sith lord." A startled gasp comes from Hera and her next words are traced with a hint of fear, "A Sith lord? Kanan told me they were the ancient enemy of the Jedi and a force to be reckoned with. Are you sure it was one of them?" Ahsoka nods her head, "I'm sure. Your crew, especially Ezra and Kanan, are in danger. In fact the whole fleet is in danger." Hera nods, understanding the danger the Sith lord poses to them. "I'll have to tell Kanan."

"Of course. Where is he, anyway?" Ahsoka asks, having not seen him since he had first boarded the command ship. Hera sighs, "They are questioning him, to make sure he didn't let loose any of our secrets. Not like he knew anything to beginning with.. I don't understand why they won't just let him rest first, at least. Kanan has been through enough to be be put through even more questioning." "I know Hera but they have to respect protocol. Kanan just has to answer the questions quickly and he should be fine." Another sigh, "I know," A pause as if Hera was remembering something as she says, "I have to go, Commander Sato will be wondering what happened to me." And Hera was gone, the door sliding shut leaving Ahsoka alone in the darkness.

The force welcomed her as an old friend, embracing Ahsoka into it's arms as she plunged into it's murky depths, searching. Ahsoka had to know if the pilot was truly a Sith. It was no use warning Sato if it wasn't true.

Ahsoka pushes against the barrier she had created in the force, finally breaking through it. It was a risky choice but she had to do it. She had to know.

At first the force was calm, peaceful. It glowed around her in light, warming auras. But, as she swam deeper into the force, it darkened. It curled around her in cold and deadly tendrils. And the darkest point laid ahead, one that reeked of hate, fear, anger, and suffering. Ahsoka plunged ahead, momentarily connecting with it. And yet that second was all it took to change her world forever.

When she finally woke from her faint, hours later, Ahsoka was sure of only two things; Her former Master was dead. And Ahsoka would do whatever she could to bring him back
