Wanted to hold off on the Frozen fanfic for now because... well... y'know it's hard to write two frikkin' stories at the same time, so of course uploads are gonna last a lot longer! Also, i wish school would be over so that I acn have more time to write, but the #1 reason is because of my eternal laziness!

Anyway, here is chapter 8 a much longer than expected chapter than i thought. Please Enjoy! ^^

Chapter 8: The Maven of the Strings

"... I love you Sona."

Ahri and I were escorted inside the mansion by an aged butler. My mouth was held agape as I entered the huge doors, fascinated by the intricate and fancy interior of the building. We stopped walking in the middle of the large living room. The butler turned around and announced, "Miss Buvelle shall be with you shortly."

"Oh. uhh... thank you." Ahri replied. The butler took a bow as well as Ahri in respect. The old man looked at me, but I just nodded. With that, he left the room, leaving me and Ahri to wait patiently.

I leaned to my side and whispered. "Ahri..."

She did the same and asked. "Why are you whispering?"

Returning to my normal voice, I said. "I don't wanna make any echoes. It's so spacious in here."

"So, what do you want?" She asked, also returning to normal.

"Yeah... I don't think I'll ask Sona to live with us."

"What? Why not?"

"If you had a choice between living in a tree somewhere in a forest, or a huge ass mansion, what would you pick?"

"Then, why don't you live here?"

"I poured my time, money, and sweat into that tree." I retorted back. "I ain't movin' out."

"Well, Sona isn't that kind of girl. She- Sona!" Ahri yelled out.

I looked to see the blue-haired lady walking down a flight of stairs. She wore her usual attire, but her magical string instrument thingy seemed to be absent.

Walking up to us, the Maven greeted us with a bow. But instead, Ahri gave her a big hug. "Sona, it's so good to see you again. How've you been?"

Released from the hug, Sona smiled, signifying that things were well. She turned to me and, again, took a bow. I smiled and said. "Hello, Sona. You look very well today."

Surprisingly, Sona's face turned red and she quickly hid behind Ahri's tails. She was like a beet. Beet? Great! Now, I'm hungry! I think this is why Sona hates me. All I think of is food.

"Sona." Ahri spoke. "There's no need to hide. It's just Rez."

Sona slowly lifted her head to look at me and I smiled once our eyes met. With her cheeks turning red again, she plunged her face into Ahri's tail.

"Aww... What's the point? Sona's just gonna hate me forever!" I cried behind the tears pouring down my face.

How'd I get into this situation? Here I was in the middle of my best friend covering her tomato-red face in my tails and my boyfriend shedding comedic tears over a misunderstanding. I absolutely didn't know what to do at this point.

"Oh my. Are these our guests?" I heard a very frilly voice say from a distance. Looking to the direction where the voice came from, I saw a woman with blonde hair wearing a sky blue dress up on the stairs. She was holding a closed umbrella of matching color. "Welcome to the house of Buvelle. I see Miss Sona has already been well acquainted with you." She walked down the stairs to greet us.

"Hey! Its you!" Rez exclaimed once he saw who the woman was.

"Oh, yes. It's very nice to see you again."

"You two know each other?" I asked.

"Umm... yeah. We met during that time in Minerva when you were bringing the kid back to his mother."

"That's right. Allow me to introduce myself." She did a little curtsey. "My name is Annabelle. I am Miss Sona's caretaker."

"Pleased to meet you." I bowed in respect. "My name is Ahri."

"Yeah... everyone keeps bowing. I'm Rez by the way." Rez plainly stated.

Annabelle giggled. "My, it really is a surprise to see you both again. You two really do make a cute couple."

As I heard that, I excitedly clung onto Rez's arm. "Do we really!?" I happily asked.

"Very much." Annabelle smiled. "So are thing's going well?" She asked.

I nodded and pinched Rez's cheeks. "Uh, huh! Rez here can be such an idiot at times, but just look at him. Isn't he too cute!?"

Annoyed, Rez pulled my hand from his face.

Annabelle giggled. "My, isn't that splendid to hear?" She cleared her throat. *ahem* "Miss Sona, I think it's about time we show our guests to the dining room."

"Yes!" Rez exclaimed. A little drip of drool can be seen hanging from his lip.

Oddly enough, Sona still had her face in my tails. "Sona, come on now." I said, claiming back my tails.

Sona stood firmly and took a deep breathe, regaining her posture. She smiled and nodded to commence lunch time.

In the dining hall, Rez and I were seated on a long dining table, it stretched far across the room and made me wonder how many people eat here to have this many seats. The chairs were cushioned very comfortably, and the room was decorated with chandeliers and candlesticks all around. Rez sat right between me and Sona; I on his right and Sona to his left. Annabelle was seated on the end of the table to my right.

We patiently waited for our meals. All except for Rez, who was getting quite jumpy in his chair. "Oh my, Rez. You must be very hungry." Annabelle stated, smiling.

"You have no idea! I haven't eaten since our trip."

I raised an eyebrow. "Rez, didn't you eat a full plate of chicken when we got out of the carriage?"

"'Ended'." Rez plainly said. "I haven't eaten since our trip 'ended'. So, yes. I'm hungry."

In a moment, trays of food were placed in front of us. Sona, Annabelle, and I ate our food with full knowledge of table manners, while Rez literally pigged-out, finishing plates in split seconds.

While Rez took a glass of water and drank from it, I held a spoonful of whatever and held it out in front of him. "Here Rez, let me feed you."

Rez opened his mouth and ate the food. Surprisingly enough, he also swallowed the spoon. "Thanks, Ahri." He said, giving me a bright smile.

My heart sped up a bit as he said that. No matter how grotesque his eating habits were, he always managed to send me to Cloud 9 whenever he smiles. "Your welcome." I replied, letting out a slight giggle.

"This tastes good." Rez declared, still chewing. "What is it?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "I dunno..." Whatever it was though, I prepared another spoonful of it and fed it to Rez, which he happily ate.

Sona took notice of how happy Rez was being fed. So, she cut a slice of ham and held it with a fork. Sona poked Rez's back to get his attention. "Oh, what is it Sona?" Sona hovered the ham in front of Rez, holding her other hand right under it. Before anything got awkward, Rez exclaimed. "Ooh! Ham!" Rez opened wide and engulfed the entire slice. After swallowing, Rez flashed a bright smile. "Thanks, Sona." Her face turned bright red and looked away, holding her cheeks. Then, she fed him another piece and another, and another. Rez, happily ate it all.

I quietly laughed at Rez's childish personality. It also made me feel good to see that both of them were getting along pretty well.

"It must be really good to be young." Annabelle said. I turned my head to see her smiling at the other two.

"What do you mean?" I curiously asked.

"I just really miss the days of my youth." She answered.

I tilted my head in confusion. "Annabelle, you don't look a day over 20."

She giggled. "Why thank you, but trust me. I'm a lot older than I look."

"Really?" I found that implausible. "How old are you?"

She put a finger to her lips. "Didn't anyone tell you not to ask a girl for her age?"

Dammit! Now, she's making me really curious.

Annabelle clapped her hands together and gleefully announced. "Miss Sona, I believe it is time for 'that'."

Sona smiled and nodded. Rez looked to Annabelle with a full mouth. "Hmm?"

"What's happening?" I asked.

Annabelle clapped her hands again and smiled. "Miss Ahri, would you like to have a look at our garden?"

I jumped. "Ooh! Do I!? I love gardens!" I really like looking at plants and flowers. It makes me feel as if I'm one with nature when I stroll around the greenery, smelling the fragrant aroma of exotic plants. I even plan on growing my own garden outside the treehouse. "Where is it?" I asked in excitement.

"Right this way." Annabelle stood from her seat and escorted me out of the room.

I watched as Ahri and that handbell lady suddenly got up from their chairs and left the room. "Where are they going?" I asked Sona.

Without a word, Sona stood up from her chair and took hold of my hands. She pulled me out of my chair and lead me out of the dining room. "Where are we going?" I asked as we rushed through the large corridor.

Sona looked back at me and simply smiled without stopping her tracks. Her pace slowed down as we neared an expensive-looking door.

Sona opened the door and stood aside, motioning me to go in. "Oh, what's in here?" I asked. Sona tilted her head.

"Okay..." I took a few steps inside, and once I reached the middle of the room, Sona shut the door. I looked back at her. "Uhh...Sona, I feel as if we only have one-sided conversations of me asking questions, but... What are you doing?" I heard a small click from behind her. "Why did you lock the door?" Looking around, I noticed that I was in some sort of bedroom. It was quite spacious despite the amount of furniture in here. It had a sort of Demacian decor with the main colors consisting of blue and yellow. I like it; blue and yellow are my favorite colors.

Sona slowly walked toward me and placed her delicate hand on my chest. With such force, she pushed me down onto her bed. I sat up on the edge of the wonderfully fluffy bed, wondering what she plans to do.

Wait! Now that I carefully analyze the situation, I have a feeling that Sona plans to do... 'things'.

Damn! This bed is soft! It must be great to sleep on this!

On the side of the room, there was a glass case on a pedestal. Inside the case was a stringed instrument of some sort. Sona took the instrument out of the case and stood in front of me, holding it with both hands. She began to pluck her strings, creating a soft tune. It sounded quite relaxing. Somehow, as if by magic, she let go of her instrument, letting it float in the air while it played itself. I know it was named after some fish. The Narwhal, was it?

Hold on! I get it. Now she's starting to set up a mood. Wait... We're alone together in her room. The door is locked. She pushed me on a comfy bed so obviously made for two. The romantic music. All that; plus, I think we had some wine during our meal.

*gasp* She wants to do that thing I did with Ahri. Dammit! When will people get that I don't romance?

Sona came closer to me. "Woah! Wait! What are you doing!?" I started getting nervous. She took hold of my wrists as I pleaded. "Hold on! I only wanted to experience it once!" She ignored my words and pulled me up from the bed.

She brought me to the center of the room. "Sona, you should know that... I... I..." I looked to Sona and saw an innocent smile on her face. Soon, the music turned into a much more upbeat tune; as one would hear in a ballroom.

Sona put a bit of space between us and did a little curtsey. I raised an eyebrow at this. "Huh?" was all I said. An idea sparked in my mind as I exclaimed. "You want to dance?" She looked up at me and nodded. I let out a relieved chuckle and said. "Well, don't mind if I do."

I put a hand to my chest and bowed. I held up my hand for her to take. She placed her small palm on mine as we drew closer to one another. We positioned ourselves accordingly; I placed my right hand on her thin waist as she put her left hand on my shoulder. Soon, we started to waltz to the music from the unmanned instrument. She followed my lead with each step, and I felt how graceful she was in her movements.

This scene seemed very familiar, as if I've done this before... "Oh!" I exclaimed, not ceasing our dance. "I remember us doing this before; when we first met in Summoner's Rift." Sona smiled and nodded. I liked it when she smiled. It seems to ease my worries. Not that I have any, but I know that when I do, her smile would calm me down because of how gentle it was.

"Hold on." I said, halting the dance. "Something's not right." Sona raised an eyebrow, wondering what might be wrong. She let out an inaudible yelp as I suddenly pulled her closer to my chest. She looked up at me with a surprised look and flushed face. "Your posture and technique were perfect." I answered, flashing a smile. "But when slow dancing with a partner, you must leave no gap between each other." A smirk came over my face. "Well, unless you were to do something like this." Right on queue with the music, I extended my arm and spun Sona around in a graceful twirl.

Her face glowed a brighter red. She laid her head on my chest as we continued our dance. I smiled softly at this and held her closer. Strangely enough, I felt a certain need to protect this girl as if we had some special connection. It was odd, but I felt the need to stay with her.

The music started to fade, signalling the end of our little dance. "Y'know." I started. "I don't like the modern style of dancing these days, but ballroom dancing somehow fills me with a sense of grace. I'd like to thank the Stone Sentinel for teaching me such tradition." I stretched my arms and smiled. "This was a great dance session, Sona. I hope we could do it again sometimes." Sona smiled and silently giggled, then she reached up and gave me a small kiss on the cheek.

I was taken aback by her sudden action, using my hand to wipe the area of the kiss. Looking at her, I noticed a slight frown of disappointment form on her lips. "What's wrong? Do you need to- Ahh..." I sighed and scratched my head. "Sona, you should know that I'm not looking for love." I paused. "Well actually, love found me... in a very, very misunderstood way." I said in a slightly annoyed voice.

Sona raised an eyebrow. "Hahaha! Don't worry!" I wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "You're still pretty awesome!" I proudly said with a wide smile. Again, her face turned to an unbelievable shade of red. "So..." I said, making our way to the door, my arm still around her neck. "Why did you have to lock the door? I mean, all we did was dan-" I furrowed my eyebrows as I turned the handle of the door. It wasn't locked at all. "What was that click noise I heard earlier...?" After a moment of wondering, I brushed the thought.

Sona and I walked out of her bedroom. Entering the large hallway, I asked Sona. "Where's the garden? I heard Ahri was there." Sona looked at me and pointed to the direction. We then headed down the hallway. It took me a moment to realize Sona had brought her Narwhal.

"So you're telling me that these seeds will grow into plants that secrete a juice, increasing a man's hormonal instincts tenfold?" I asked Annabelle as I held up a pack of seeds.

Annabelle and I were in the garden of the mansion. It was very large; filled with a variety of plants and flowers and such. There were even little critters roaming around, giving it a more natural feel. The whole place was very bright and lively; and we were just in the indoor garden.

"That's right." Annabelle answered. "Although, I have no real use for them; and it's also the reason we kick out many male servants. So, I decided to just throw it away."

"No!" I yelled. "Give it to me!"

A sweat dripped on Annabelle's forehead, a nervous smile forming on her lips. "Sure... but, what do you plan on doing with it?"

"Uhh... You know. I'm gonna start my own garden and I thought this would be a... good...plant...to start out with..." I smiled, trying to hide my devious plan. Rez is so going to 'love' me for this. Hehehe.

"Miss Ahri?"

"Huh!?" I woke up from my trance.

"Miss Ahri, are you alright? You were laughing silently and quite maliciously if I might add." Annabelle had a worried expression.

"Oh! I'm fine. Just had an idea." I smiled. "So, I'm taking these seeds then?"

Annabelle laughed. "Sure, they're all yours."

"Hey, Ahri!"

I turned to see Rez walking my way along with Sona, her etwahl in hand. "Hello, Rez!" I happily said. "Where were you guys?"

"We were in Sona's room dancing." Rez plainly said. Although, Sona jumped as if she didn't want him to say that.

I chuckled. "Did you guys have fun?"

"Yeah! Sona is a good dancer. She has a cool room. She can even make her narwhal fly and play itself!"

"Rez." I giggled. "It's called the etwahl."

"Really? That's even more fun to say!" Rez gladly exclaimed.

I couldn't stop laughing in my head. Rez was just so childish at times. It seemed impossible that he would ever lie. Sometimes, it was hard to believe that I would fall for such a person, like I was dating some kid. But once you look at him closely and see how his personality makes him that much of a man, then how couldn't you fall for him?

"Oh! You were also taught how to dance by Galio!?" Rez asked, ecstatic.

Sona nodded. "Isn't he like one of the coolest guys ever!?" Again, Sona nodded and held a hand to her mouth, making inaudible laughter.

It seems that Sona has also taken quite a liking to Rez. I could see it in her bashful, little face. It was fine though. I can trust Sona so much that I wouldn't need to worry how much time she spent with Rez.

After their conversation about the apparent Demacian gargoyle, Sona turned to Annabelle who was flowering a couple of flowers in the garden. She plucked a string from her etwahl. "Oh!" Annabelle responded. "I'm sure they'd be delighted." Plucking another string from her etwahl, Annabelle answered. "That's a great idea. I bet you two would get along even better that way."

"You could communicate with Sona?" I asked, surprised.

"That's right." Annabelle smiled. "She's able to telepathically send messages through the strings of her etwahl."

"Then how come you haven't been talking with me!?" I asked. "All those times I've always been the only one to talk in our conversations. Do you know how bad that actually feels?"

Annabelle nervously smiled. "Unfortunately, Sona may only communicate this way to people who meet certain requirements."

"What are those requirements?" I asked. Annabelle held a finger to her lips, telling me that it was secret. I pouted, "Well, that's not very fair. Then what's she saying?"

Annabelle clapped her hands and giddily said. "Well, Miss Sona was just telling me that it would be a great pleasure if you and Mr. Rez would like to live in the Buvelle Manor."

"Oh, really!?" I was surprised. "That would be great! But actually, Rez and I are here because we were supposed to- Rez!"

*cough* "What?" He asked, nearly choking on a slimy green egg.

"Where did you get that!?"

"I found this just right there!" He pointed to an area of the garden where I saw a dozen of green eggs covered in slime all piled up.

I then proceeded to go over there and smash it all. Coming back, I continued with a smile. "Rez and I were here because we wanted to ask the same thing. Tell her, Rez."

Rez shrugged her shoulders. "Well, I don't know anymore. I mean, if you live in a frikkin' mansion, why would you want to leave?"

Rez held his stomach in pain after I delivered a blow to it with my elbow. He got up and coughed "Sona, Ahri and I would like to ask you if it would be alright if you could live in our humble tree abode."

Sona had a look of interest in her eyes. She plucked a string from her etwahl.

Annabelle responded. "Sona says that would be great." I smiled in delight. "But sadly, she would have to reject that offer." Sona dismally nodded. "Mr. Rez is quite right. Who would look out for the manor? And the staff would need Miss Sona in order to work here."

"Then, that's too bad."

"How about living here?" Annabelle suggested.

I rubbed my arm. "Well, we can't. Not that we wouldn't want to live in such a beautiful place, but it's just that Rez and I spent a lot of time and work building our home."

Rez nodded. "It's a pretty awesome treehouse."

Annabelle sincerely smiled. "We understand. It would be great to have you though."

Rez chuckled, a little flattered.

"Sona!" I exclaimed. "Come talk with me. I have so much to tell you."

I grabbed Sona's wrists and lead her to where we can talk privately, leaving Rez to talk with Annabelle about the mystery of slimy green eggs.

(After about an hour of girl talk)

"So you're telling me that in order to fully experience the flavor of these green eggs, I must prepare it in a course with green ham?" I asked, holding a green egg in front of me.

Annabelle smiled. "Uh huh. There's even an ancient legend about a man who had been cursed to death after denying a meal, time after time with the inventor of such cuisine."

"I see." I nodded, fascinated by her knowledge of random things. "So, do you- AGGHH!" I yelled in pain as I felt a strange force pulse through my veins. I grabbed my chest and knelt down on the floor.

Concerned, Annabelle asked. "Mr. Rez, what's wrong!? A-are you alright?" She crouched down to take a closer look at me.

With heavy breathing, I answered. "My *inhale* mana energy... is growing unstable. I've been exposed to the *inhale* mana in the air... for too long... without my staff(or the orb)."

"W-would you like to see a nurse? We have one here in the manor. S-she could-"

"No." I interrupted. By the tone of her voice, I can tell that she doesn't really handle things well under pressure or in situations like this. "Where's Ahri? I... We have to go now."

"Oh. Uhh..."

"What's happening?" Ahri asked as she approached us along with Sona. "I heard a loud scream. Is there a spider around? Rez is deeply afraid of spiders." Ahri stated. Although, she didn't really have to!

Annabelle started getting nervous. "Umm... I have no clue. Something about mana being unstable?"

"Aghh!" Ahri yelped. "Rez, don't tell me you'll go out of control now!"

Sona had a worried expression on her face as well as her hands over her mouth.

My breathing turned to normal, although I still took a sigh of relief. "Don't worry. It started to calm down." Sona knelt down to my level and put a hand on my shoulder. Looking at her, I put on a smile, ensuring that everything was fine.

"Please tell me you'll be fine Rez." Ahri said with a worried expression.

"For now, sure." I stood up from the ground. "But I better go see Viktor to make another orb. Although, I will tend to be a little glitchy until then." I said as I twitched a little bit.

Sona plucked her etwahl. "Then, you will be leaving now?" Annabelle interpreted.

"Unfortunately so." I said. "Sorry we have to go so soon. I really do want to stay a little while longer."

*pluck* "It's fine. Let us escort you out."

At the front gates, Miss Sona had prepared a carriage for the departure of Mr. Rez and Miss Ahri. Miss Sona and I had walked with them to properly say our farewells.

"Thank you for visiting. We hope you can come again sooner." I bowed respectfully.

Miss Ahri walked up to us and enveloped me and Miss Sona in a tight hug. I returned the hug of course, smiling to the sweetness of the Nine-Tailed Fox. She took Miss Sona's hands in her's before she said. "Don't worry, we promise we'll come visit as much as we can." A sly smile came upon her face as she moved her lips to Sona's ear and whispered something inaudible. I wondered just what Miss Ahri had said to her to make Miss Sona silently giggle.

Looking at Mr. Rez, I noticed he was smiling at the two ladies. His body was also slightly twitching in moderate intervals. "Thank you for coming to visit Miss Sona."

Mr. Rez looked at me. He grinned and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, well... y'know. Thank you for having us." *twitch*

"No, really. Thank you." I sincerely said. "Miss Sona is very popular among many people, but in actuality, she doesn't have anyone to truly call her a friend. I know Miss Sona considers Miss Ahri as her best friend, but she's rarely around. The same goes for Miss Sona's mother, Lady Lestara, so she's out of the picture. Without me or Ahri, she really wouldn't have anybody."

Mr. Rez was silent for a while, until a wide grin spread across his face, giving him a look of confidence. "Don't worry, Handbell. I already planned to be one of her closest buddies. She was my first partner in the League after all."

I smiled in relief. "It's great to hear that." I paused for a moment. "Rez, you are a very special person."

Confused, he raised an eyebrow as I said that. "Umm... thanks?" *twitch*

My smile soon faded. "You're going to be very important to Sona, Rez."

"What do you mean by..." His words began to fade. I guess he could see the tear that trailed down my eye. "Handbell, what's-"

"It's Annabelle." I corrected, giggling at such sillyness.

"Oh, okay. Annabelle, what's wrong?"

I sincerely smiled. "You'll find out soon enough."

"But-" *twitch*

"Rez, let's go now." Miss Ahri interrupted.

"Oh... Yeah, sure."

Before Mr. Rez entered the carriage, Miss Sona ran up to him and deeply hugged him, burying her face across his chest. I put a hand over my mouth and giggled over the cute act of the lady. Mr. Rez, confused as ever, simply patted her head whereas she continued the hug. With an annoyed look, Miss Ahri waited as she crossed her arms and repeatedly tapped her foot. You can tell she was impatient by the way she looked at her wrist to check her watch that was clearly not there.

Miss Sona then let go of her embrace which took much longer than it normally should have. Mr. Rez awkwardly smiled and bowed his head.

As the carriage strolled away, Mr. Rez opened the window and stuck his upper body out the door. "Bye, Sona! Bye, Annabelle!" He exclaimed, waving his hands in the air.

Miss Sona happily waved goodbye.

"Goodbye, Mr. Rez. I hope you can fix your problem." I said in a much louder tone for him to hear.

I laughed when I saw Mr. Rez fall from the carriage and ran after it, seeing as it wouldn't stop.

Our visitors have gone, and Miss Sona and I have returned to the mansion. Miss Sona walked up to the window to watch the carriage ride off into the sunset. She held a hand to her heart and deeply sighed.

"He's the one, isn't he Miss Sona?" I asked the giddy lady.

Miss Sona slowly nodded.

After a brief moment, I smiled. "Be a good girl... Okay, Miss Sona?"

She turned around with a dreadful expression on her face. Quickly, she took hold of her etwahl and plucked it's strings. 'Do you have to go?'

"Unfortunately, Miss Sona, I do."

*pluck* 'No! Please, don't leave!'

I frowned. "Miss Sona, my existence here is only temporary. You know that."

She slowly looked down, her body shaking. *pluck* 'I'll miss you...'

"Aww... I'm going to miss you too."

Miss Sona dropped her etwahl.

"Miss Sona!-" As she looked up, her face was wet from the tears pouring down her eyes. "Miss..."

Suddenly, she ran up to me and wrapped her arms around my chest, embracing me in a tight hug. "M-miss Sona, d-don't cry. I can't bear to... to see you like this!" I promised myself I wouldn't cry, but even I wasn't strong enough to hold back my emotions. Soon enough, tears began to flow down my cheeks as I enveloped Miss Sona in my arms.

I've been with Miss Sona for as long as I could remember. I had to fill the spot whereas Lady Lestara couldn't. All this time I was meant to be Miss Sona's caretaker, but it felt like more than that; as if I were her mother. I've been there for her at times when she felt lonely, when she felt scared or hurt, when she's lying in bed, sick and weak. It fills me with great joy to see her lonely frown turn into a bright smile. Now, It hurts to just leave her like this. It crushes my soul to think that I wouldn't be there for her to shoulder all her troubles and burdens. I wish I could stay, but this world is too cruel. Nobody can stay and live a happy life. Eventually, everything must pass.

"Sona, listen to me." I said, under our sorrowful tears. "I will always be with you. Even when I'm gone, just know that I will always be right by your side."

I pulled away from our hug and looked at her, face to face. Wiping the tears from her eyes, I told her. "Now, Rez is here. He is the one we've been waiting all these years for. I trust that he will look out for you and fulfill your wish." Sona sniffled. "Come on now, stop crying. You are a strong girl. I was only here to fill the pit of loneliness in your heart until he arrived, remember? Now, Mr. Rez won't just fill that spot, but he's going to mend it so you wouldn't feel lonely anymore."

I moved up and lightly kissed her on her delicate forehead. "I'll always be here with you no matter what, and always remember..." I looked into her eyes and smiled genuinely.

"... I love you Sona."

A strange sensation swept over me, as we neared the forest outside the Institute of War. "Woah! What the!?"

"What's up, Rez?" Ahri asked, surprised by my sudden outburst.

"I do- I don't know." I answered. "But for some reason, I felt a strange sense of meaning come into my life."

The fox lady raised an eyebrow. "What does that suppose to mean?"

I clenched my teeth. "I...don't...know..."

"Okay then... Hey, I noticed you stopped twitching." Ahri pointed out.

I smiled. "Yeah, it stopped ever since the carriage dropped us off at Minerva."

"That's good to hear." Ahri chimed.

"Well, you could never be too careful. My condition may worsen any minute."

Ahri and I were walking along the road that will eventually lead us into the forest where the treehouse is. The trip took exceptionally longer than it did last time, allowing the moon to take it's place in the night. We walked alongside each other through the dark path, and even held hands as per request by the Nine-Tails herself.

Soon enough, Ahri grew tired and took a seat on a tree root bulging from the ground.

I looked at her. "Ahri, we can't stop now. We're almost there." She groaned in response, signifying just how tired she was. I mustered up an idea. "Well, would you like me to carry you?"

Ahri looked at me with a glimmer of light in her eyes. She held out her arms and cupped her hands like a little 4-year-old would to get picked up. I sighed and chuckled a bit. Now who's being childish?

Bending down, I slid my arm around her shoulders and my other arm beneath the area directly behind the knee(whatever it's called). I lifted the lazy fox off the ground and carried her bridal-style. She was surprisingly light, considering the size and number of her tails. Well, that's easy for me to say. I lift trees regularly.

As I made my way through the forest with Ahri in hand, the little fox wrapped her arms around my neck. Her fluffy tails enveloped my body in a furry embrace. She layed her head on my shoulder, and her ears twitched as it poked around my neck. Looking down, I saw a soft smile adorn on her face. Tch. Cunning fox. This was either an excuse for me to carry her back home, or for me to hold her close. Whatever the reason, it worked.

Hmm. Now that I looked at her closer, she seemed to have this sense of serenity around her. Her face looked so peaceful and kind. For a moment, I felt the strange need to kiss her. I thought about it for a second, and then, ever-so-slowly, my face inched closer to hers until our lips barely touched. I smirked. "Nahh." I lifted my head back up and said, "I'm not the romantic type, remember?"

I continued walking through the dark forest. It wouldn't be so dark soon enough. The break of dawn was about to fill the air. I found the opening of the forest and saw the treehouse from afar. Finally! I'm getting tired of holding Ahri. I really don't wanna say this, but she's gotta lose some weight.

Making my way out of the forest, I gazed upon the sweet sight of home. Suddenly, my eyes opened wide in shock. My mouth hung wide open and my body stiffened.

*thud* "Oww!"

"Rez! What was that!? Why'd you suddenly drop me?" She said, picking herself off the floor.

I could hear Ahri talking to me, but I couldn't exactly tell what she was saying.

"My plan nearly worked too! We were this close to kissing! Why did you even pull back?"

She noticed I wasn't really paying attention. "Hello? Rez? What's wrong? Why are you-"

She turned silent when she finally looked to where I was facing. As the sun rose over the horizon, a huge Noxian aircraft loomed over the distance. It hovered above the large lake, heading to the direction toward us.

"Rez?"

"Yeah?"

"Why are they here?"

I didn't answer. I didn't exactly know what the Noxians planned to do, but one thing's for sure...

...It wasn't going to pretty.

**EXTRA!**

(Somewhere far in the future. Like, maybe next year.)

"Finally!" I exclaimed, wiping the sweat off my forehead. "I finally finished growing the aphrodisiac plant in my garden. Rez, will surely know how it feels like to be 'green'. hehehe."

I took out a vial I had in my pocket. I held it out in front of an opening in the plant. Soon, it secreted a juice of some sort and filled the vial. I don't know how it did that automatically, but oh well. Make my life easier.

To make sure it worked, I tested it out on a pair of gorillas that I...umm...found! It became early mating season for the two apes. Hehehe. Wait... Were those gorillas the same gender? Meh. It doesn't matter now, does it?

"Oh, Reeezzzz." I gleefully chimed as I entered his room.

Rez halted his little work out, putting down the 10-ton weights he was lifting. Much to my pleasure, he grabbed a small towel and wiped the sweat off his toned body. "What is it, Ahri?" He asked.

I walked up to him with a sly smile on my face. "I thought you could use a little drink, so I made you a cup of tea."

Rez smiled. "Well, thanks." He happily took the cup of tea off my hands and chugged it down. Little did he know, I poured the aphrodisiac into it.

"Thanks Ahri, I really needed that." Rez continued his work out.

I decided to wait a while for the effects to kick in.

*12 hours later*

"Oh, yeah." Rez said, coming out of the restroom. "Ahri, did you know that I produce little-to-no hormones." He plainly stated.

I froze in place, a smile stuck on my face.

"Ahri?"

I went back to my garden and burned down any and every sign of vegetation.
