Ok so, I finished this chapter a few weeks ago, but then didn't edit it due to the fact that I got myself a Wii U! "Screw U Wii U sux!" Yeah, shut up! I've always wanted a Wii U ever since last year! I'll be enjoying Super Smash. Go have fun with Titanfall and Destiny!

Anyways, I present to U Chapter 9!

Chapter 9: The White Mage

"Do you wanna turn the world upside down with me?" - Gol D. Roger

As the sun rose, so did the Noxian aircraft. It slowly hovered toward us closing the distance each second.

"Ahri, let's get inside." I said.

She nodded. "Yeah."

Ahri and I entered our home. We didn't know what Noxus planned to do, or if they were even headed toward us. We just knew that wherever they were, outside of their nation, they brought their power and force with them. I've only been in this world for a month or so, but it would take at least a day or two to learn of the great tyranny and destruction Noxus is so widely known for. There really wasn't anything for us to do except to wait and see what happened.

In a minute, the ground shook. I looked out the window and saw that the aircraft has landed right next to the treehouse. The next thing I knew, the doorbell rang. I guess the pullstring bell I installed worked. Turning to Ahri, I told her. "Stay in here and don't come out." She nodded.

I opened the front door, stepping onto the porch/balcony. Instead of riding the tire swing down, I jumped down to the floor. In front of me was a normal looking man. I could tell he was a Noxian officer judging by the style of his clothing. I looked around and found nobody else except for him; other than the Noxus ship parked from a distance.

"What do you want?" I questioned in a cold manner.

"My, where are your formalities?" I scoffed to the sophistication in his voice. "I think a proper introduction is in order." The man firmly smiled and put a hand to his chest. "My name is Jethro, royal advisor of the Noxian army. And you must be Rez, the Black Mage, I presume."

"Black Mage?"

"Yes, 'The Black Mage'. It is the title the League has given to you. Is it not?"

The Black Mage? Hmm... Sounds quite fitting if you ask me, especially to a character such as myself.

"Okay, you got me. I am Rez. Now tell me what do you want from me?"

Jethro snickered. "The reason for my presence is not pertaining to you, but rather the other resident of your... umm... home." He said, gesturing to the treehouse.

I raised an eyebrow. "What do you want from Ahri, and how'd you know we're here?"

It seemed that he was obligated to answer my questions, seeing as how he invaded my property. "We are in need of the Nine-Tailed Fox for her abilities of persuasion over the life essence of men, which is also the reason how we were able to locate you: by tracking the essence emanating out of Miss Ahri. If you will be so kind as to bring her here... or better yet, I hear that she possesses an orb of some sort that stores the essence of all the men she has slept with in the pass. May I see it?"

I gazed intently into his eyes as he did with mine. "I don't know what you plan to do with it, but all I can say is that it's important to Ahri. So no, I can't let you see it."

Jethro closed his eyes and sighed deeply. He looked at me with a countenance of disappointment. "There are certain answers that I really don't like to hear." He reached into his pocket and took out a small, round object. "Now, until you're ready to cooperate, I suggest you-"

"What is going on out here?"

I looked up at the balcony of the tree and saw Ahri with a firm look on her face.

"Ahh. Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox." Jethro bowed in a sophisticated manner. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you."

Ahri swiftly jumped down from the balcony, landing right next to me. I turned to look at her then at the tire pulley. "Why did we have to put that if we could easily jump up and down from it?" I asked. She simply shrugged. "Anyway, I told you to stay inside."

"Hey, now." Ahri retorted. "If I'm not mistaken, I overheard that this conversation has to deal with me. Besides, I couldn't just standby and let you handle things." She looked to the Noxian officer and asked. "Who are you?"

Jethro walked up to Ahri and took a bow. "Please allow me to introduce myself, Miss Ahri. My name is Jethro, high advisor of the Noxian army. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He took hold of Ahri's hand and lightly kissed it. "And may I say, you look even more beautiful than the rumours describe you to be."

Ahri slowly took her hand away and gave him a kind of weirded-out expression. "Umm... Thanks."

"Now, I'm sure you've heard of what I am here for and I am kindly asking if you would be ever-so-willing to give us your orb of life essence."

Without hesitation, Ahri plainly stated. "No."

Again, the officer sighed and held up the object he took out from his pocket earlier. "I'm giving you another chance. Bring me your orb or there will be consequences. You will be doing Noxus a great favor if you do."

"Then what exactly are you going to do with it?" Ahri asked.

"I'm sorry, but that information is confidential. Now you got 5 seconds to bring it here or else."

"Tch! Bring it on! What can you possibly do!?" I yelled, unafraid of his unknown threat.

The Noxian smirked as he pressed a button on the device. He raised it to his mouth and spoke. "General, I am in need of some assistance." I guess that was some sort of communicator.

"Yes sir, be there in a sec."

My eyes widened as I heard the voice coming from the device. I stood in place, scared stiff. "A-Ahri, b-be careful." I said with a shaky voice, sweat dripping from my face. I soon came to regret my decision, and that I should watch my mouth in the future.

"Why? What's wrong?" Ahri asked, slightly frightened by my reaction.

The cargo hold of the ship opened up, and out came a hulking figure wearing heavily clad armour. The way he walked in that large uniform would put fear in anyone in his path. Adding to his fearful presence was the huge axe he always carried into battle. The sheer amount of blood spilled and lives taken with that axe was overwhelming. He was the very person who gave his nation its mighty reputation: Darius, the Hand of Noxus.

Darius stood by the advisor's side, holding his huge axe over his shoulder. Although he had a blank expression on his face, I could feel he was giving me an intense gaze. I returned the gaze, glaring deeply into his eyes, but a little more visible. Ahri watched in suspense as she noticed the tense air between us.

After a moment, Darius spoke. "Sir, are they giving you a hard time?"

The Noxian advisor smugly smiled. "Nope. Just a bit lonely. That's all."

I gritted my teeth. This frikkin' wimp needs a babysitter by his side.

"In fact, these two were just about to go and retrieve what we came for."

"You little-" I was just about to pound the guy, but I stopped as I saw Darius lightly lift his axe.

For a moment, my feet started moving toward the treehouse out of its own will.

"Rez, what are you doing?" Ahri asked. My feet stopped moving and I started to shake. I didn't know what to do in this situation. I was filled with so much pressure. To remain safe, I had to give up Ahri's orb thing to the Noxians, but I couldn't just do that. That orb is important to Ahri. She said it was to fulfil her greatest wish. The look shown on Ahri's face was killing me inside.

The advisor raised an eyebrow and with an amused expression, said. "Well? I'm waiting."

I took a breath and clenched my fists. "...Come and get it."

"Rez!?" Ahri exclaimed, surprised by my answer.

The advisor chuckled. "Well, if you say so." He took a few steps forward. "I hope you don't mind my intrusion."

In a second, he was launched back and fell to the ground behind Darius. He raised his head from the ground. "What was that!?" He asked, surprised by my sudden action.

I had my fist held in front of me as I swung my arm to send a gust of wind to blow, pushing the advisor back to prevent him from getting any closer. I took a second to get into my battle-stance. "If you want it so bad, you'll have to get through me first."

"Darius!" He shouted.

Darius grinned. "On it."

"Ahri, stand back." I commanded.

Ahri nodded. "Alright."

Crap! What'd I get myself into? I can handle Darius, but he just gives me such a hard time. I would have to over-exert my limits to fight against such brute strength. I raided Noxus once. It was easy, until the Hand of Noxus came into the picture along with his brother. Those two are a force to be reckoned with.

Darius swung his axe at me. I swiftly dodged it, but before I had any time to react, he swung another, and another, and another. I couldn't do much but dodge until he raised his axe high into the air and brought it down hard. It managed to graze my shoulder, causing me to bleed. He picked up the axe from the ground which left a crevice in the earth. Once I found an opening, I formed a swirling vortex of wind around my arms and blasted Darius straight into the chest, causing him to stumble back a bit. I took this chance to charge up lightning in my arms. I ran straight for him and leapt high into the air. Coming down, I clenched my fist and left a trail of lightning from my arm, ready to blast the general from above. Before I was able to hit him, however, he grabbed hold of my arm just an inch away from his face. For a brief second, I was able to see a smirk form on his lips. He then proceeded to slam my body to the ground.

I groaned in pain before he picked up my legs with one hand. I hung upside-down as he looked at me with an unamused expression. "What's wrong, Black Mage? Why are you holding back? Does it have something to do with-"

I shot his head point-blank with a blast of lightning. He dropped me to the floor, and I landed safely.

"Aghh! You little-"

I shot him again with a ball of fire, pushing him back. I kept it going, hitting him with a barrage of flames, making sure he doesn't have any time to react.

Darius, however, was still too tough and was able to withstand the blows after a few shots. Then, he began to block each attack as he got closer. As he got a few feet in front of me, I got into a 'kame-hame-ha' stance and focused energy from my palms. I thrusted my arms in front of me and out came a mixture of energy between fire, lightning, and ice.

A smoke cloud filled the area in front of me. I couldn't tell what happened to Darius due to the thickness of the smoke. Much to my chagrin, though, Darius appeared out of the cloud with a smug smile across his face, unfazed and unaffected by my explosive blast. With a swift and large swing, Darius spun around, leaving a large slash across my chest. Another swing left a gash on my thigh. I lost my balance, causing Darius to strike once more. Instead of splitting me with a Noxian Guillotine, he delivered a mighty blow on the back of my neck with the blunt side of his axe. I screamed in pain as a huge shockwave overwhelmed my body, filling me with paralysis.

"Rez!" Ahri yelled as I dropped to the ground. I wasn't able to move a single muscle in my body and was forced to watch as Darius made his way to the tree.

Ahri, however, had a different plan in mind. She stood in the way of Darius, determined to protect her orb.

"Ahri!" I shouted, apparently being able to speak. "Get away from him!"

"You should listen to your idiotic friend, kitsune." Darius said, slowly approaching.

Ahri motioned her hand and formed a bright ball of energy floating in mid-air. Her posture changed to one you would see her in during a rift match.

Just as Darius was about to brush her off, Ahri ignited three fox-fires around her body. She surprised Darius by dashing toward him and sent the fires hurling to his face.

Darius stumbled back. He swung his axe at her, but was unable to hit her for the fox was too swift for him. In a moment, Ahri was out of his area of vision. He looked around to find her, but soon felt a sting of pain go through his chest. He saw Ahri's bright, blue orb appear out of his chest. The orb quickly came back and passed through him again, dealing 140(+32.5% AP) bonus true damage.

Darius turned around and spotted Ahri, orb in hand. Quickly, he lunged his axe forward to apprehend her and she was swept to him.

Darius was about to strike her, but she immediately landed a charm on him. I watched in amazement as I finally got to see what that little heart actually did. While Darius was mesmerized, Ahri dished out everything she had. She pummeled him with a barrage of fox-fires as she swiftly darted around him.

Darius was breathing quite heavily. Ahri chuckled as he fell to his knees. "Oh? What's wrong? The big bad wolf can't catch the little fox?" She taunted.

If I could move my arms, I would facepalm right about now. "Ahri!" I groaned. "That was stupid! I'm the wolf around here!"

Darius, now aggravated, swung his axe wildly. Again, he was unable to hit her due to her agility and speed. She jumped up and landed on the railing of the treehouse's balcony. She taunted Darius by laughing out of spite. "See Rez? I can fend for myself."

Darius, infuriated, got up and marched on over to the tree. Ahri curiously looked down to see what he was doing. My eyes widened as Darius struck the tree with a mighty swing of his axe. The tree shook, making Ahri lose her balance and fall off. Darius, however, didn't stop chopping the tree. "I'm gonna get that stupid orb!" He shouted, continuing his chopping.

Ahri desperately tried to stop him by throwing another charm, but he was too blind by his rage. She attempted to tackle him, but he simply pushed her aside.

With each swing, I saw the gash on the tree get bigger. I watched in terror as Darius chopped away at the treehouse I spent so much effort building. The treehouse I planned to live with my friends.

My home was being destroyed...

I couldn't do anything in this situation. I tried to stop him by throwing a charm, but nothing. I even tried to pull him, but he was too bulky. I had to watch as Darius was tearing down me and Rez's house.

Then I noticed something. I looked at Rez and saw he was struggling to get up. His arms were shaking as he lifted himself off the ground. He got out of his paralysis through sheer willpower. His eyes were dead set on Darius, determined to stop him from destroying our home.

Darius was halfway through the trunk of the tree. One more hit and he would bring it down. He finally stopped as Rez pulled the ground he was standing on, causing Darius to topple over. Rez made a quick dash over to him and delivered a punch to Darius' face, bringing him down. Darius kicked him away and stood back up. Rez knelt down to grab the earth below him. His hands were suddenly covered by a layer of rocks, giving him two huge rock fists. He ran towards Darius and jabbed him in the stomach. He then delivered an uppercut to his chin, knocking him back.

Rez kept landing blows until they reached the edge of the cliff. Seeing as he was about to fall off, Darius apprehended Rez, pulling his body toward him. Darius spun around, leaving another slash on Rez's chest.

Rez winced in pain. Again, Rez grabbed the earth below him. The ground shook and created cracks that travelled toward Darius. Rez lifted his hands up and took out a huge chunk of the earth. The floor below Darius began to tremble and soon, the edge of the cliff, along with Darius, fell to the lake.

Having defeated Darius, Rez took a moment to breathe. He turned around and walked up to the tree to check the damages. Rez smiled. "Whoo!" He exhaled. "A few more hits and you'd be gone. Nothing I can't fix though."

I smiled in relief. "Rez, that's grea- hmmphh." My voice was muffled as I felt a hand cover my mouth.

"Have you forgotten about me?" I looked up and saw the advisor holding me hostage.

"Ahri!" Rez was about to run to my aid until I heard a gun being held up to my head.

"Not one move, or I'll blow her head." He threatened. I ignited my hand with fire and tried to burn him, but to no avail. "Oh, Miss Ahri, I've prepared for this and am wearing a fire-proof suit."

WTF IS THAT!?

He took out his communicator and spoke into it. "I'm gonna need soldiers out here."

In a moment, two Noxian soldiers came out of the ship. They marched on over to me, taking me from the grasp of the advisor. They put a pair of handcuffs on me to make sure I didn't do anything funny. "Y'know, we don't really need the orb of life essence. The Nine Tailed-Fox is all we need for an infinite supply. Of course, she will have to engage in the act of intercourse, but Noxus has enough men to meet that need."

My eyes shot wide open when I heard that. They planned to take me away and force me to extract the essence out of men. I couldn't fathom the horror of what they may do to me.

"I always thought Noxus was a corrupt government." I looked at Rez and saw him give the advisor a cryptic gaze. "But I didn't think they'd be so low as to do something as lecherous as that."

The high advisor raised an eyebrow. "Hmm? What did you say about Noxus' government? You better watch yo-"

Rez bolted in front of the advisor in a flash of lightning. He grabbed him by the neck and raised him above the ground. The soldiers holding me, pointed their weapons at Rez. "Ey, be careful now. You wouldn't want your precious officer to lose his neck now, would you?" They lowered their weapons.

"Hehehehehe." The advisor began to chuckle, gripping tightly onto Rez's arm.

"What's so funny?" Rez asked.

"It'd be wise of you to let go of me right about now." He said, barely able to speak.

"And what makes you think I would-"

"Rez, behind you!" I shouted.

He turned his head. "Wha-"

"REEEEZZZ!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

Rez was punctured in the back by the blade of none other than Darius. I thought he fell from the cliff.

Rez let go of the advisor, who had a cocky expression on his face. Darius maliciously smiled and raised his axe into the air, lifting Rez off the ground. The axe dug deeper into Rez's spine. His blood dripping down Darius' axe. Rez's body twitched, his face had a blank expression. I felt a tear trickle down my eye as the sight of it was too much for me to bear.

Darius flung his axe and tossed Rez away. He swung his axe over his shoulder and walked on over to the advisor. "My, was killing him rather necessary?" The advisor asked.

"I find it appropriate to eliminate the nuisances." Darius said with a monotone voice.

I looked down on Rez's body. It remained still and motionless. I couldn't even see the irises of his eyes. I had a forlorn expression on my face. The soldiers began to drag me away, but I didn't care. Rez died right before my eyes. I couldn't care less about what the world planned to do with me now.

I entered the Noxian aircraft and was seated next to a window. I felt the ship shake as the engine started. Slowly, we hovered above the ground. I looked out the window and saw the treehouse right below me. I couldn't help but let the tears fall from my eyes.

"Why?" I asked.

"Hmm?" The Noxian advisor raised an eyebrow. "Did you say something?"

"Why?" I repeated. "Why do you need my essence so badly that you would kill the one I love!?"

"Aww. Well, isn't that just tragic." He started mocking me. "You lost your boyfriend. Boohoo! Your life is now miserable." He spat. "You'll get over it eventually. You wouldn't need love once we get to Noxus."

"Answer my damn question!" I retorted.

Jethro sighed. "If you must know, our scientists have discovered a way to create sentient beings. With that knowledge, our craftsmen have constructed an army of stone soldiers to fill with sentience. But the only way we would be able to bring them to life is to fill each one with life essence which is why Commander Swain has ordered us to pay you a little visit."

"You people are horrible!" I exclaimed.

Jethro merely laughed. "Yes, we are all well aware of that."

I sat quietly, still in disbelief that Rez was gone.

I slowly got up from the ground and wiped my mouth from the blood I coughed up. Darius nearly killed me with that last attack.

It's ironic how this mana could kill me, although it's keeping me alive.

I coughed up even more blood.

Perhaps I was just lucky this time. The mana was able to mitigate the bleeding from my wounds.

Dammit! They took Ahri. I looked outward to the sky and saw the aircraft hasn't travelled too far off. I could be able to catch up to it.

I stretched my body and prepared to sprint. I dashed toward the edge of the cliff, and before making it to the end, I launched myself up as a chunk of the earth shot up from the ground, sending me flying to the air.

I was headed directly for the airship, but seeing as it was still far from my reach I boosted myself up with a big gust of wind. Just a little further and I'd be able to close the distance between us. I ignited my whole body into a ball of flames and dashed like a meteor toward the Noxian aircraft.

"AAHHHRRRRIIIIIII!"

The cargo hold of the aircraft opened up and Darius appeared, axe in hand. He was holding what appeared to be a rope ladder. Behind him, I saw Ahri handcuffed and teary eyed.

Just a few meters from the airship and I'd be able to land on it. Darius, on the other hand, had a different idea in mind. He jumped up and into the air and out of the ship. I prepared to hit him with a fiery punch, but suddenly, my face slammed onto the side of his axe, knocking me out in the process.

I lost feeling in my body and soon fell from the sky. I heard Ahri scream my name before I plummeted down into the lake.

"AAHHHRRRRIIIIIII!"

I opened my eyes as I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"Umm... Sir, there seems to be an unidentified object heading our way." Reported one of the pilots.

"Unidentified? Is it an enemy missile?" Jethro asked.

"Not exactly. It looks more like a... person." The pilot sounded unsure about himself.

"What!?" Jethro looked out the window and yelled. "How could he be alive!?" A vein popped from his skull. "Darius!" He called out.

Darius walked over to him. "What is it?" He asked.

"The Black Mage hasn't been dealt with. You are to go out there and finish him off."

Darius nodded. "Understood."

Rez is alive!? How? That last blow surely would've killed him.

"Open the hatch!" Jethro ordered.

Darius grabbed a rope ladder and tied it to a beam on the ship. The soldiers pulled a lever, opening the cargo hold of the airship. Darius stood firmly, unaffected by the sudden force of the wind. I looked out and saw a bright ball of flame darting toward us, and I instantly knew that it was Rez.

I could feel my eyes become watery again, but this time, out of sheer joy.

Rez made his way toward us. I stood up from my seat, but before I could make one step, I felt a hand shove me back down. Looking up, I saw Jethro with a slightly irritated face. "Where do you think you're going?" He questioned. "Off to see ur love? Hehehe. I don't think so." He then issued a command. "Take him down."

At once, Darius jumped out of the ship and prepared his axe. He then landed a heavy blow to Rez's face with the side of his axe. In a second, Rez fellow from the sky along with Darius. Concerned, I shook myself off of Jethro's grasp and ran over to the edge, making sure I didn't fall off.

"Rez!" I screamed as the last thing I saw was his body splash into the lake below. Darius, on the other hand, held on tightly to the rope ladder he carried with him before jumping.

"Well done, General." Jethro praised him while Darius climbed onto the ship.

I stood in place, shocked at the event that played before me. Jethro took notice of me and told me. "Get over him, will you? Maybe he would finally die." He grabbed me by my handcuffs and threw me onto a chair. I looked at him with eyes full of hatred.

"Sir, we are receiving a call from the High Commander." One of the soldiers reported.

"Give me the communicator." He ordered. The soldier handed the communicator to the advisor. He spoke into it. "Yes Commander Jericho. What do you need?"

I couldn't make out just what the other side of the line was saying.

"Oh, yes." He continued. "We have retrieved a source of life essence and our currently heading back." Jethro continued his conversation on the phone.

"Woah! What's happening down there?" A soldier exclaimed, lookind down the open hatch.

I looked out of the window and down at the lake. I noticed something strange happening in the water. In the middle of the lake, a large ripple formed. The next thing I knew, the lake started moving in unpredictable patterns. I watched in amazement as I saw the water suddenly rise up from the ground.

I walked to the edge to get a better view while Jethro was distracted.

I saw the water form in a sort of archway. I was able to see the floor of the lake, and much to my astonishment, there he was.

Rez stood on top of a rock platform, arms folded and eyes filled with fiery determination.

Darius set his sights on Rez and muttered. "That persistent bastard, just what will it take to kill you?"

The next thing I knew, Rez was enveloped by a wave of water. The lake divided into several tentacle-like streams. Each one spun like a drill and charged toward us. I braced for impact as a jet of water crashed against the side of the ship.

"Gahh! What's happening!?" Jethro yelled, surprised when the aircraft shook violently.

"We're being attacked." Darius answered whilst another jet hit.

"Attacked!? By what?" Darius didn't say anything, but stared at Jethro. "Dammit, Darius! Why can't you just kill him!?"

A few more hits and the ship would go down. I looked out and saw a stream of water come my way. It knocked me, along with everyone else on board, to the ground. I looked up and saw Rez standing before me as he appeared from the water.

"Fucking kill him!" Jethro screamed. In a second, the soldiers got up and readied their weapons.

Rez lifted his arm and raised the water on the floor. He flicked his wrist and whipped the Noxians with a lash of water. He then raised it and it froze, turning into a thick wall of ice.

I looked at Rez and he looked back at me, showing a bright smile on his face.

Just in time to ruin the moment, Darius came bursting through the wall. Rez's grip on me tightened, and he pulled me to the edge of the ship. Without a moment of hesitation, Rez jumped down, dragging me along with him. We managed to barely escape the terrible grasp of the Hand of Noxus.

"Darius!" I cried. "You let them get away!"

The general simply scoffed and pushed me aside. He walked up to the pilots. "Turn this ship around." He ordered.

With a shaky voice, the pilot replied. "Ugh... s-sorry sir, b-but we cannot d-do that under these circumstances."

Darius grabbed him by the collar and pulled him in close. "What do you mean?" He snarled.

"S-sir, we are still under at-tack b-by t-the tentacles of w-w-water." He said as the ship continued to shake violently.

Darius intimidated the pilot even further by sneering at him.

"Darius." I intervened. "We're going to have to head back for now."

Darius turned to me and gave me a look. "We need that essence and I need to bathe that damn bastard in blood!"

"Commander Swain has ordered us to return home." I said to him. "It has something to do with that man Talon has brought in recently, and he needs you to subdue him."

Darius said no word. I smiled and spoke mischievously. "But don't worry. We'll leave a present for the two mages."

"Prepare the cannon!"

Rez caught the both of us in the air with a stream of water. He held on to me tightly and it brought us to the edge of the cliff near the treehouse. While the water subsided, Rez dried the both of us instantly with a warm gust of wind. He looked at me and smiled. I gave him a bigger smile, overcome with joy at the fact that he was all right.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yes." I answered. "Thanks to you."

He looked over the cliff and saw the airship still being pummelled by the lake. With a slight chuckle, he waved his hand and the water started to calm down, returning to its natural state.

He began to walk to the treehouse to check up on it. He made a sudden stop and turned his head around. I heard a high-pitched ring coming from a distance. Turning back, I saw a huge cannon coming out from beneath the airship. A light formed from inside of it and slowly grew bigger. Just then, it shot a large beam of blinding light heading right for us.

"Watch out!" Rez grabbed hold of me and pushed me out-of-the-way. I fell to the floor and watched as the beam shot everything in a line along with Rez.

As soon as the light faded, I saw Rez had made a giant wall of stone in front of him. Due to his action, he come out of the blast unscathed. I let out a sigh of relief. This was the third time today that I thought he'd die.

"Tch. What a weak cannon." Rez muttered. "They gotta try harder than that to..." Rez's words trailed off when he turned to look at the treehouse.

"What?" I turned my head. *gasp!*

Much to our dismay, the tree had been utterly destroyed. Leaves and branches were separated everywhere. We walked up to take a closer look and was met with the remnants of our shattered home. All our furniture layed on the ground, broken to pieces.

"I can't believe this." Rez solemnly said. "Its gone. All our hard work driven to the ground." I felt drops of water fall on my head as rain softly poured over us. "This... This was supposed to be my dream. Just me and all my friends living together, having a great time. It's now ruined."

"Rez." I started. "It's all right. Lets just forget about all this."

"Why would they do this!?" Rez asked angrily. "What was so important that they desperately needed the stupid essence!?"

I was silent for a moment, then I answered. "The advisor told me that the essence was needed to raise an army of sentient beings, so Swain ordered him and Darius to retrieve life essence that would bring life into each being."

Rez punched the earth, creating a small crevice on the ground. "SWAAAAINNN!"

I flinched as Rez screamed at the top of his lungs. I didn't say a word. All I could do was sympathize with him. I also looked forward to living with others. I mean, his dream was taken from him while I still had my...

Please, no.

I ran to the pile of debris.

Please, be safe!

I searched through our stuff, desperate to find one item.

Please, don't be-

I froze in place as I finished my search. I fell on my knees once I set my eyes upon my orb of essence. A crack could be seen surrounding the outer layer of the orb. The bright green glow it once had was now a lifeless grey. I held the orb close to my chest and slowly let myself cry.

"Ahri?" I heard Rez's footsteps as he slowly walked toward me. "Ahri, come on now. We have to..."

He stopped talking as soon as I looked up at him. He had a blank stare in his eyes and stayed like that for a moment. Next thing I knew, he became tense, forming his hands to fists and gritting his teeth. "Dammit!" He yelled out.

Without a word, he turned back and searched through the pile of rubbish. I merely observed him, not knowing what's on his mind.

"Here it is." Rez said, holding up a small box. He put his hand in the box and pulled out what appears to be a dark cape. He flipped the cape over himself and much to my surprise, his clothing changed to his signature look. From his tattered shirt and cargo pants, he now had his dark blue wardrobe complete with his wizard hat, robe, and cape. The rest of his clothes signified him to be a sort of a fighter seeing as his arms and legs were wrapped in gauze.

"What is that?" I asked, wiping my tears.

"Here." He tossed me the box. "It stores a certain set of clothing for a number of people and provides an unlimited amount of clothes to the person who opens it."

I looked at the box strangely, then I inserted my hand inside it. I pulled out and was soon enveloped by a white and red cloth. In a moment, my clothing changed from a red t-shirt and short skirt to my traditional Ionian attire. "Wow!" I exclaimed. "What is this?"

"It's just something I had on me when I came to this world. The name isn't really imperative." He pointed to the pile of debris and asked. "Now, is there anything important that you need from in this?"

I shook my head. "Not really."

"All right then." He created a fissure on the ground, collecting the remnants of the destroyed treehouse. He ignited a small flame on his finger and threw it into the fissure. Soon, the whole thing combusted in a burst of flames.

I was shocked to witness him do such a thing. Even more so that he did it without hesitation. "Can't dwell on the past, right?" He turned around and headed down the cliff.

I stood up and followed him. "Where are you going?" I asked.

"Don't follow me, Ahri." He said, without stopping his trail.

I ran up to him and walked by his side. "Excuse me?"

"Ahri, I don't know where you can stay for now, but just don't follow me." He had a serious look on his face.

I stood in his path and stopped him from moving any forward. "Hold on. First, where are you going?" I asked in a stern voice.

After a moment of giving me an intense gaze, which I returned with a gaze of my own, he sighed. "I'm going to Noxus."

My eyes widened to his sudden declaration. "Noxus!?"

He scratched his head and pushed me aside to continue walking. "Yes Ahri, I'm going to Noxus and you can't stop me!"

"Who said I was going to stop you!?" I exclaimed. "Rez, wherever you go, I'm going with you."

Rez turned around. After a moment of thinking, he shook his head and continued his march. "No, you can't come."

"Rez!" I yelled, desperate to get his attention. Rez looked back and listened to what I had to say. "That was my home too! I had to give all I had just to live there with you, and now its gone! Just where do you expect me to go now, huh!?" I calmed myself down a bit and softly said. "You said you wouldn't ever leave me, Rez. You're all I have." I wiped a tear that had fallen from my eye.

He stood silent and looked at me with a kind of guilty/sincere look. He scratched his head and sighed. "Are you sure you want to come with?"

I nodded.

"It's gonna be very dangerous." He said.

I grinned. "So what? I'm dangerous."

Rez looked at me and chuckled. He looked around and found a rock platform. He stood on top of it and faced me. With a confident smile on his lips, he proudly announced. "Ahri, in my world there are people called 'White Mages,' and together, a Black Mage and White Mage do extraordinary things. They stick together no matter what." He bent down and held his hand out to me. "Be my White Mage Ahri, and we can do many great things."

I was amazed at the sight and felt my heart stop beating. The sun shone directly above Rez as he said that. With the confident smile spread across his face, how could anyone say no?

I gave him a smile and nodded, taking his hand in mine.

Rez widely grinned and exclaimed. "Great!"

The ground shook below me and suddenly, the floor raised, bringing me to Rez's ground level. "Are you gonna keep that?" He asked.

"Huh?"

"Your orb." I looked down and saw that I was still holding my broken ball of essence. "What do you plan on doing with it?"

"I don't know." I said with a frown.

After a moment of thought, Rez spoke. "Here. Give it to me."

I handed Rez my orb and put it in a pouch of some sort. "I'll find some use for it in the future."

Rez continued to walk, but I remained still. The only thing in my mind was what I would do now that my orb is broken. Why did Rez take it? Does he know some way to fix it. But the question that really matters is 'How am I going to become normal?' I wouldn't turn back to a fox since it's broken, but all my efforts to become fully human was now gone. All the life essence I collected were washed down the drain.

"Ahri?"

"Yeah, what!?" I asked, snapping back to reality.

Rez was heading into the forest when he asked. "Aren't you coming? If you are, then I suggest you follow along."

I patted my cheeks. "Coming!" I exclaimed then I ran by his side.

Get ready Noxus! We're coming for you!
