I was never a really romantic person and I like Twlight, plus I'm trying to write out of my element here. You have an suggestions ( or just to tell me how it's going) for the Romance please PM me if you want. I'm most likely going to post a chapter once or twice a day for the rest of the week and until I finish the Twlight book (1). Hope you enjoy!
Arya Cullen
Chapter 6
The hunt was great, one of the best in a while. It was mostly likely because I have not hunted with Jasper alone in a while. We did our race as we planned and I won by one deer. I always drained them the fastest. Of course Jasper said it was because he was a little slower than usual, but he said while laughing so I knew he was joking and didn't care. I closed my eyes and listened around me. I heard a stream in the distance, a rabbit underfoot a couple of feet away and then a Mountain Lion running.
I stay crouched and walked slowly from behind a bush; I tensed and then pounced, wrestling with it a bit until I sunk my teeth in his neck, draining his blood. I wrinkled my nose at the tastelessness of animal blood. Even after all these years… it still does not compare. But it is something we have to do and I like the feeling of being such a monster anymore.
Jasper was leaning against a tree by his shoulder and asked. "What? Had to get an extra one?"
I shrugged and stood up, satisfied. "I came here what I needed for, a pleasure isn't a crime."
He raised an eyebrow. "While, that may be true, hiding from a human is unbecoming of a Confederate Soldier." Brushing off my clothes I took an unneeded deep breath of the air, my own relaxation without Jasper doing it.
I leaned against the tree. "That is true, I loathe to say it, but I become something of a coward, we been here for three days, it's enough."
He got off the tree and asked; a grin on his smug face. "You ready?"
I got off too and said. "If you are?"
With a look, we raced off into the trees until we were far enough from our hunting grounds and closer to house but far enough where any of the family couldn't hear us.
He asked, walking. "So what are you going to do?"
My good mood gone, I replied. "I'm planning on ignoring him, hoping he will pick the right choice and leave me alone."
He stopped and turned to me. "Ignore him? Is that it? You think he will, after knowing what we are and not leaving. You are the one who left, not him. I suspect he will want to talk to you when you get back even after the so called explosion you gave him 3 days before."
I shook my head, walking again. "No sane person would."
He gave a sharp laugh. "A sane person would have left at 'vampire'."
I scowled, sticking true to what I said. "I mean it."
He gave me an annoyed look. "You always love to cause yourself pain, do whatever you must. Remember I know what you are feeling. Be careful."
I nodded and walked in our home and up the stairs. Edward was not here. I was left thinking and pacing in my room. It was driving me crazy. Another thought hit me, what if I leave him alone and he gets attacked by a vampire and he knows more than any human should, what if the Volturi find out or find him; that puts his and my family in danger. I'd rather die by them; I was not lying about that.
I stiffened at the presence by my door and said. "Alice, what do you want?"
I looked at her, her face was serious. She frowned at me. "I need to talk to you."
I shook my head with a laugh and sat down. "This has to be good."
She scowled at me and pointed a finger in my face. "No! Listen to me. Arya Scott Taylor Cullen"! I raised my eyebrows at the full name. "Cullen. You want to know why you are called this, it is because you belong to this family, yes family not Coven and you will learn this and listen, no talking, understood"?
I raised my right hand in a salute and said, "Yes Ma'am."
She glared, but went on what she was saying. "I saw my vision in what you are planning and you need to stop. You are only making you and Roy miserable. You can keep him safe yourself and you have the whole family to fall back on. Also, there are strangers coming who drink human blood and do you really want your mate around that without you even if they are not going to be in town, hm?"
I jumped up. "What did you say?"
She looked at me annoyed. "Yes, Arya. He makes you happy and you should go see him this instant".
I thought about it, she was right. I may be a monster, but I could still protected him. I never felt like this for someone, I think it may be called love, but I'm unfamiliar with the emotion. There was no time for that in the newborn army. I don't deserve it, but if I could just protect him…
I nodded and said. "Thank you Alice".
She nodded with a self-satisfied smile and before I left she grabbed my arm and hugged me, shocking me. "I want you to be happy Arya."
I hugged her back. "Again, thank you." I ran to Roy's and then was there, faster than usual. I jumped up and climbed to his window. I knocked and moved aside.
I heard it open and Roy say. "Hello?"
I moved my head back. "Hello Roy."
He jumped back shocked. "Arya! Oh my...Thank God you're alright!" He was wondering if I was okay?
He asked. "Do you need to be invited in or something"? I looked at him blankly and laughed freely. I climbed through the window and lay on his bed. I moved over and patted the spot next to me. He walked over and sat.
I said. "I would like to apologize for my actions, they were horrible."
He shook his head and grabbed my hand and then froze, but I smiled at him. He said. "No need, I could see you had a lot to let off your chest so to speak."
I nodded. "I did, I had dark thoughts plaguing me."
His smile widened and I asked. "What?"
"I love the way you talk, from back then. I think it's cute".
I narrowed my eyes. "Boy, anyone ever tell you to respect your elders?" He laughed and I did along with him.
He looked at me seriously. "So what made you say all that?"
I frowned and looked at his ceiling. I told him the worries about his life and the fears of what I could do to it. He said. "You don't understand, you changed me. I don't know what it was or how I lived without you, but I could not do it anymore. Uh, sorry. That is sort of embarrassing." He face was lightly dusted with pink.
I looked at him, a tender look and say. "If you're comfortable enough, lay here with me". He was then close to me, I then clenched my fists at the small thirst I felt and then placed my face near his hair and smelt, his hair was wet, but he smelt of sweat, mild cologne and if this makes sense Roy himself.
I was able to actually ignore the thirst that plagued me at that moment. I tucked a piece of black hair away from his face and he turned to face me. I felt myself soften up as I often did around him and traced his warm face with my fingers with my right hand.
He stayed still, his eyes searching mine, I whispered, amazed at the trust he placed in me. "How could you trust me like this?"
He placed his hand on my cheek, my cold cheek. I felt my lips upturn at his warmth. I always wanted to feel that. "I do trust you, that is what I feel."
I brushed another piece of hair from his eyes. I felt a stirring of a sort of human emotion I have not felt since I was a 17 year old human girl, I whispered, moving closer. "Stay still." He gave a slight nod and I moved closer, my breath on his lips. I pressed them to his softly and molded them as it felt comfortable. I pressed my forehead to his and pressed my lips to his a little harder and felt his hand on my neck. A small tugging at the hair on the nape of my neck. Something happened to me then, a sharp pain in my throat. The dryness shocking me for a moment. I remembered at that point who and what I was. I drew back quickly and placed hands flat against his chest.
I stopped breathing and said in a growl. "Stay back." He nodded silent and I got off the bed and stayed by the wall. His heart was beating fast and he looked dazed. I can't believe in that moment I forget that I was a vampire.
He asked. "Arya, what is the problem?"
I looked at him shocked. "Sorry, but at that moment even though your blood affects me less than others, I still need to control myself". He nodded and I waited until I was in control to sit back on the bed with him. We talked more about what happened 4 days before, smoothed it out as much as we could.
He yawned and I asked. "Where is your mother?"
He smiled and said. "She went to visit my aunt for a couple of days."
I stood up and placed the blanket around him. He muttered. "Don't go, 'ot tired."
I lay back with him and he said. "Tell me a story, please. You lived long enough for one."
I said. "Ok, one time in 1862, this is one memory I believe I will always have, I was riding out behind a group of men, me with my gun and horse, I just met Jasper. He was young, all blond hair and brown eyes, though he looked a little smug and cocky, as most in our youth in the war was. I'll admit I was not exempt from that. It was not a battle, but I fought with the Texas Calvary and Jasper against some Yankee soldiers, almost gotten my head blown off and saved Jasper pretty little blond head, After that we were close, watching each other's back and then..." He was sleeping and I watched him, his face peaceful, eyes flickering under his eye lids as the night wore on. I looked to his tank top clad chest, where breaths made his chest rise and fall.
It must have been hours and I picked up a book from his nigh stand, near his bed. 'Game of Thrones'. Smiling to myself, I flipped open the first page. Hm, White Walkers, a new creature is there? Imagine my amusement an hour or so later when I came across a young daughter named Arya Stark of Winterfell. My name seems to pop up everywhere in there fantasy books. After making a decent sized dent in the book, I saw dawn approaching and his breathing get uneven, showing he was waking up.
He looked at me with squinted eyes and then they widened, "You stayed!"
I nodded with a smile and a laugh, moving off his bed. He sat up and stretched. "Good Morning."
He had a tired grin on his face. "It is, isn't it?"
I said. "I'll be back in half an hour; will you be ready by then?"
He blinked and asked. "For what?"
I grinned and moved toward the window. "I guess you will have to see." He rolled his eyes and I jumped out, running home.
I walked in and Alice literally bounded into me. "Arya, I saw it!"
I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Everything?"
She rolled her eyes and pulled me up stairs by the arm. "No, you were gone the whole night, that would take up too much time." We were in the living room where the rest of the family was.
I looked around. "Where are Rosalie and Emmett?"
Jasper sort of smirked. "You know how Rosalie is about this; Emmett went to try to curb her mind."
I grimaced and asked. "Edward?"
Esme smiled as she said. "Edward is bringing Bella here".
I raised my eyebrows at Esme. "Here?"
Carlisle chuckled. "Yes, here".
Alice jumped up. "I have an idea."
I rolled my eyes. "That can't be good."
She scowled at me and said. "Hush you. Since Bella is coming..."
I shook my head with a glare. "No way!"
Alice replied with her hands on her hips. "Why not, you both are fine now, right?"
I nodded. "Yes, but he would find himself forced to come, I wouldn't want that."
"You wouldn't have to do that, just ask. Also, do you want him to come when Rose is here"?
I gave a grimace and said. "I'll ask."
Carisle scolded her. "Alice."
She smiled in his direction, Esme said. "If it makes you both comfortable, I would love to have him over also."
I asked Alice as I went to my room and she followed. "Why do you want him here so bad, anyway?"
She said, in an 'obvious' tone. "Well, he makes you so happy so we have to meet him." I laughed, but nodded when she glowered in my direction. I walked to my room, freshened up a little and threw on new clothes.
I went downstairs and Alice said. "Edward should be here soon, go on." I shook my head at her and Jasper waved. I gave him a wave back, going to take my blue motorcycle to his house. I pushed the meter to speeds close to the limit. Soon enough, I was close to his home and decreased speeds so that when his drive showed up, I was at a stop. I got off and used a burst of vampire speed to get to the door and knock. He opened the door with a towel around his neck and jeans on.
He said. "You're early."
I looked him up and down, pleased. Really good looking, more so than any other human. I grinned at him and said. "I'm pleased I'm early if this is the result." I chuckled when he flushed. I walked in as he moved aside. He leaned against the wall, staring at me. I took a whiff of the air. I walked till my hands were pressed against the wall near his head. I moved close to his face and put my nose at his collarbone.
I grinned against his skin. "You smell wonderful."
I felt him laugh. "Is that so?"
I nodded, moving to kiss him lightly on the lips and said. "Very much so." I moved away and I followed him up the stairs to his room.
He asked, looking through shirts in his closet. "Do you know what we're doing today?"
I sighed and laid against the bed, my hands behind my head, but my head turned toward him.
I asked seriously. "I need to ask you something, but you don't have to do it."
He stopped looking for a shirt and said. "Arya, what is it?"
I asked, after hesitating for a moment. "How...would you like to meet my family?"
He looked at me shocked and dropped the shirt in his hand. "Y-your family?"
I nodded and he asked with a frown. "I thought they didn't approve of me?"
I shrugged. "Times change, Rosalie and Emmett won't be there and Edward is bringing Bella."
He was quiet and his eyes lost, I frowned worried if it was too much, I said. "It's okay if you don't want to, who would want to meet a bunch of vampires?"
He shook his head quickly. "No, it's not that, I swear! Are you sure your family don't hate me"?
I smiled brightly. He is truly amazing. "I promise."
He then nodded and said. "Okay, anything I need to know?"
I thought about it and then decided to come out and say it, then said. "Okay, Alice can see the future, Edward can read minds and Jasper has a gift over emotions."
He looked at me shocked. "What?"
"It's what I said, also Jasper is the weakest with our diet, so don't go near him."
He seemed to take all this in and asked. "Nothing else?"
I shrugged with a smile. "Nothing I can think of." He went searching for shirts again and pulled a light gray button down one. I watch as he buttoned it up, but left two free. He walked over to me and grabbed the comb by his desk, combing his hair back.
He asked. "How do I look?"
I smiled again, looking in his eyes. "Perfect."
He seemed pleased as he grinned at my fact. I stood up and said. "Good, let's go."
He followed me down stairs and grabbed my hand until he put on his shoes, got out of the house, locked it and went to my bike.
I hoped on and said. "Get on."
I heard him whine. "Arya!"
I took the helmet and gave it to him. With a sigh, he climbed in the back. I may love him, but I do not trust him with my Baby. I felt his arms around me and I turned around, pecking him on the lips with a grin, making sure I ignored the burn in my throat. While he grinned back at me and put the helmet on, I turned around, started the engine and drove toward my home to introduce him to my home I lived in for the past two years.
