Arya Scott Cullen

Chapter 11

It gets a bit more romantic, so beware. Don't be afraid to comment on that.

Arya Pov

I sat in the chair by his bedside. I frowned with worry as his chest lightly rose and fell. We have been here for a couple of days. Edward said Bella was healing and I knew Roy was too, but that didn't mean that I wasn't worried. His family showed up here yesterday. The story we're going with is after Roy found us, he went walking along at night and gotten attacked. His father had black hair and brown eyes. His little sister was almost a look alike to the father; she was around 12 or 13.

Whenever they came by, I stopped breathing or pretended I was sleeping. The smell of their blood bothering me like it did Jasper. They didn't smell like Roy, so it was harder to near them. From what the doctor and Carlisle told me was that he had a couple of cracked ribs, a concussion from before, his arm needed about 12 stitches, unspeakable about of bruises and his forearm was broken. We were lucky it was a clean break and not jagged.

His ribs were wrapped and he had his arm in a cast and would be later have to put it in a sling. The door opened and I tensed, smelling the aroma of Roy's mother. I felt her glare on the side of my head. That was another thing; his mother was hostile to me now, no doubt blaming me for what happened. I can't say I blame her for that one. I stared at Roy in concern, won't he wake up soon?

"Arya?"

I looked up at Roy's mother looking at me with a frown. "Yes, Ma'am?"

I always remembered my manners around my 'seniors'. She grimaced and then her eyes hardened. "Could I talk to you outside?" I could feel that not being anything close to a request. Not that I was scared of this human. I decided to humor her. I gave her a nod, following her out the door and gently shut it. I moved a little bit farther from her.

She crossed her arms across her chest and I stared at her, my head tilted slightly and my golden eyes unblinking. She shook her head and then spoke. "Listen I can tell that you care for my son, but I do believe you are the reason my boy gotten hurt."

I nodded my head. "I know, I should have stayed with him." I had to keep up pretenses after all.

Her mouth soured. "I can't believe for one second that is the truth, it's not common."

I smiled slightly, now I knew where Roy gotten his stubbornness from. "You can ask my father about injuries and death involving mugging. It's common enough, even if I wished it never happened to Roy."

She sighed, her eyebrows furrowed. "Listen I know something happened, despite not knowing what it is."

I nodded my head. "Mrs. Michaels, I'm sure with whatever happened, with the right precautions, it won't happen again." I meant that for sure, I would not let another vampire touch him.

She opened her mouth to say something, but I caught Roy's father's scent along with his sister Emma. "Mary, what are you doing?"

She jumped and glared at the black haired male. "Robert! I was just talking to her."

He rolled his eyes with a grin. "Arya! How are you doing, you must be worried sick."

I nodded my head again with a wry smile. "Yes, sir. Just waiting for Roy to wake up."

He chuckled. "You certainly have manners for someone of your age; I told you Robert was fine. Man, Carlisle must have raised you well."

I smiled a bit more, fond of my 'foster' father. "Yes he certainly wants us to respect our elders."

I opened the door and sat in my usual chair. His family sat on the other side of the bed. I saw him stir and I must have been the only one because his family didn't react, no doubt because of my vampire senses. He groaned and moved more, that certainly gotten their attention. I smiled slightly, he flinched and the smile dropped into a frown. I almost forgotten he was still injured.

He opened his eyes and they were unfocused before he looked at his family. He smiled slightly. Robert said. "I'll go get the doctor."

He walked out to get the doctor and his mother went to kneel by him on the floor while Emma looked at him worriedly. I took my phone out of my pocket, waved it and walked out the door. I called Carlisle.

He answered. "Arya?"

"Carlisle, he woke up."

"Really? Do you need me there?"

I shook my head slightly. "No, his father is getting a doctor. Any news on Edward and Bella?"

"She woke up a little while ago; Edward is with her along with her mother."

"Okay, bye Carlisle."

The door opened and I looked to see Emma leaned against the wall next to me. I grimaced slightly at the tightening and ache in my throat and discreetly moved away. I smiled down at her. "Hi."

She looked up with a determined face. "Dad likes you enough, but Mom doesn't."

I shrugged slightly with a grin. "I guess I have to gain her trust back then."

She grinned back at me. "Yeah, my brother really likes you. He called me and talk to me about you too. I guess without listening to Mom or Dad, I'll give you a chance."

"Sounds like a plan." She held a hand out and I felt pained at this, hoping it didn't show on my face. I grasped it, tensing when the warm beating palm was in my grip.

I shook it and she let go, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Come one, I got a plan."

I followed her back in the room and Emma said. "Mom, I want something to eat, come on."

"Emma, your brother just woke up."

She let a whine come to her voice. "But Mom, please…"

I felt a smirk on my lips. Her mother snapped. "Emily!"

I didn't want to get her in trouble. Roy voice said in a raspy tone. "Mom, please go with her."

She stared at him in surprise and she glared at me before leaving with her daughter. He turned as I sat in my chair and leaned forward. I brushed a strand of hair away from his eyes. I felt myself go soft from looking at him. He smiled at me. "Hi."

I nodded my head, my lips twitching. "Hello. The story is that you were mugged when we separated." He nodded, to show that he understood.

I opened my mouth to say something else, but the door opened and the doctor walked in along with Robert, Mary and Emma. I leaned back, hoping I could get him alone soon, we needed to talk.

The doctor came forth and checked him over again, vitals and things like that. It was silent in this room and I didn't need Jasper's or Edward's gifts to know about the tension in this room. Roy asked. "Where am I?"

The doctor, Dr. Richards replied. "In Phoenix hospital, we will check if you need to be here longer before you are discharged. As for your injuries, I would like to say you are in luck for what could have happened."

Roy gave a dry smirk and muttered. "Trust me, I know."

Dr. Richards went on. "You have a clean break on your right forearm, which will take about 6 weeks to heal, bruises and lacerations around your body, 12 stitches on opposite arm, 3 cracked ribs and a healing concussion."

Robert whistled in surprise. "Quite the injuries there, son."

Mary frowned worriedly and Robert's easy going expression tightened and asked. "Doctor, could I speak to my family alone, please."

The doctor nodded, grabbed his clipboard. I got up and Mary asked. "Arya, could you please wait outside."

I nodded and Roy said. "Wait, Mom, Arya don't have to-"

I smiled at him. "It's okay Roy, I'll be right outside."

I walked out and listened to what was said.

"Roy, I think it's time you come back home with me."

I frowned, it would be safer if he wasn't around vampires anymore, though the thought of him leaving me hurt.

Mar was protesting. "What, Robert? You never said anything about this."

Roy said. "Wait-"

Robert interrupted him. "Look what happened in your care, the boy almost died. You hear me, my son almost died."

Mary voice was raised in anger. "That had nothing to do with me."

Roy said. "Mom, Dad-"

Mary snapped. "If you want anyone to blame, blame that Cullen girl! He was angry right after a date with her."

Robert voice rose. "It's not the girl's responsibility to watch him, that's the parent's job."

Emma cried out. "Just stop this already! All you do is argue when you talk to each other!" The door opened and Emma was the smell of salt, rushed past me.

Roy snapped. "She's right about that, you seem to care more about who wins the argument than what helps me. Dad, I want to stay here with Mom, what I said to you was horrible and I felt horrible about it. Mom, please don't blame Arya, without her, I would have died."

It made me sick at the thought of Roy dying. You would think fighting in vampire wars would make me uncaring about corpses, but thinking about Roy's made me horrified. A moment later Roy's parents left down the hall and I sat by Roy in my chair and he looked tired.

I grabbed his hand gently and blushed my lips across his knuckles; I then looked up and made eye contact with him. "I'm sorry."

He blinked at me with furrowed brows. "What for?"

I felt my eyes widen slightly at his question, wasn't it obvious? "Almost getting you killed, of course."

He smiled softly at me. "I don't blame you at all, you saved me after all."

I kissed his knuckles again. "I love you."

He grinned, eyes bright. "I love you too!"

I chuckled at his excited tone. He flushed at my amusement and that only made me laugh more. He pouted at me and I stopped with a sheepish look. I raised my eyebrows and he said. "You're making fun of me."

I shook my head with a grin. "Sorry, we came to Phoenix to bring you and Bella back while we hunted James and by extension, Victoria if she gotten in the way. And concerning, killing a vampire's mate, we would have had to kill her anyway."

Roy eyebrows pulled together "Why is that?"

I frowned, thinking back to the past. "When you kill a vampire's mate, they will stop at nothing to get their revenge on you in what they believe is revenge. Trust me; you don't want to see it."

He seemed hesitant and I just smiled at him so he continued. "Am I…"

I knew what he was asking and answered without hesitation. "Yes."

He lips curved into a grin. I said. "Anyway, when we gotten there, James but you…" I growled deep in my throat and then calmed down, "Carlisie gotten you and Bella some help and then we took you to the hospital.

Roy looked at him arm where the bit would be if there were no bandages in the way. "How am I not a vampire?"

I said bluntly. "I sucked the venom out."

He blinked in surprise and then grinned again, a happy note in his voice. "I did tell you that I loved you, right?"

I chuckled and said. "You sound excited again."

He huffed and whined slightly. "Arya…"

I grinned as I had a sudden thought. "I can make it up to you if you want."

He huffed playfully. "I'm not breaking this time."

My grin turned into a smirk and I got up, leaning over the bed and careful of his injuries, I hovered over him, nose to nose, my elbows on either side of his head. Moving my head, I pressed my lips to his. I felt his breath hitch and smiled against his lips. I pushed forward, keeping my hand in the hair on the side of his head, kissing deeper. I felt his heartbeat and it made me feel relief. He was alive, Roy was breathing.

The monitor was going like crazy and I moved my hand from his head to his chest, feeling the hospital gown rough material. His heart was going erratic and I moved away as he took it a big gulp of air, face flushed and eyes wide. I kissed the tip of his nose, his forehead, and cheeks and finally gave him a peck on the lips, before using vampire speed to sit back in his chair. Right on time (not like I didn't know, his family showed up).

Roy Pov

Arya was the love of my life and I know that now. I might think about being a vampire later on in life, just to be with her, but I did not want to be one now, I still had my family and I want to say goodbye to them if I ever decide to do it, I finally argued with my Dad enough that he would let me stay but he was going to visit with Emma more to make sure everything was going okay. I missed him, so I didn't mind that much.

It made my Mom mad though, of what he was insinuating. I could agree with her, she's not irresponsible, too much just happened at once. My dad doesn't know what I said to my Mom and I don't plan to telling him. He may not agree or like my mom, but he wants us to respect her, which I understand. I think he actually would have beat my ass for what I said. I would have deserved it; he hasn't done that since I was like 8.

Arya also has been in a playful mood. During the times, we are along, she would go on my bed with me (being careful of me) and make out with me, making me breathless (I know she enjoyed getting that react out of me). It was embarrassing, but it wasn't in anyway unpleasant, so that's a bonus, quite the opposite. They were finally taking me home.

The way back was nothing to really describe, all I did was sleep and my Dad and little sister went back home, my mom was fretting every time I made a grimace or groan of pain. I'm lucky she don't have vampire eye sight or I'd be done for. Speaking if Arya and my Mom, Mom blames Arya for what happened to me. I said it wasn't her fault, but Arya told me to just let it go and she would earn her respect back her own way.

I rested at home and Arya snuck in my room and stayed with me all night.

Bella who was also injured was healing too. I'm happy I at least got to do something right that day; I did help protect Bella a little bit. It was time till the end of the year after I gotten all the stitches out in my arm and my other arm was healing nicely, my bruises going from purple/blue to yellow/green.

The point was I wanted to go to prom with Arya since she must have never been to one and I wanted to give her the experience. Also, I wanted to take her to the event.

"Arya?" We were sitting on my bed and Arya was humming under her breath, a song I didn't recognize and she was playing with the ends of my hair with a smile on her face.

"Yes?"

"Would you like to…go to the…prom with me?"

Arya blinked at me with those golden eyes that were like her family's, but different too. "Okay, if you want."

I frowned. "Do you want to?"

Arya kissed my check and down she went to my jaw and then she pressed her lips against mine. I responded and kept her away from my lower regions from obvious reasons. We departed and I huffed out my breaths, feeling my face get heated. All I had now was to get healed and go the prom with Arya and get healed up.

There it is! I think there will be one more chapter of this book left. Though it might be a bit longer than my other chapters. New Moon will be started when I have time past the 17th. School will have started and I don't know when I'll have an opening to update as much. I also have other stories I want to update. I hope you enjoyed the romantic bits

Gwestiel: Well, that is what I was aiming for, so I'm happy that I accomplished it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The emotion while I was writing made me jumpy, I could barely keep still.
