Chapter 8

Lucy reached into the box with shaking hand's to take hold of a celestial key made of white gold with a diamond set into the top, held there by what looked like a crown made from yellow gold. "One of the Celestial secrets is the equip Key. Only ever seen in the hands of the first Celestial born it is said to be the greatest key to be made. In order to even get this Key you have to have the approval of the Celestial King! The fact that you four bought it for me means that he approves of you all as well. I have to call Loki to get more info." Loki suddenly appeared next to Lucy smiling. "Lucy dear sister you got little Leo! He just came barging into my house shouting that he has a contract with the nice Princess that saved my life. Now who could that be other than you?" Loki grabbed Lucy by the waist and spun her in a circle whilst she laughed at his antics. Laxus let out a warning growl and Loki looked at him and shook his head.

"You have nothing to worry about lightning bolt I think of Lucy as my little sister nothing else. We all felt the soul bond take place up in the celestial world and we are all happy for you. I came to say thank you to everyone for getting my little brother for Lucy to take care off." Laxus scowled at him but nodded his head in thanks for the congratulations. Lucy giggled and then spoke up. "Loki Laxus and the thunder god tribe got me a special key and I need info on it. Can you help me please?" Loki smiled and kissed her hand. "Anything for our princess." was his reply. Lucy then opened her hand to show Loki who gasped at the sight in front of him. Reaching out Loki touched the key with one finger and felt the power it held. Taking a step back Loki sat down on a bar stool. " I never thought I would see the day this happened. The Key you hold is only able to be held by someone who has the king's permission. But there's more to having that key than that. In order for the key to work you have to summon the spirit within. They will then judge you and then give you three tasks. The only one to ever have that key was the first born celestial mage but they only passed the first of the tests that were given. While they had the key until they died they were not able to use it. If you pass you will be the first and possible they only one to succeed in doing so."

My advise Princess is to wait until tomorrow and then summon the spirit here to make a contract. By law I can not give you any more details than I have no spirit can even Crux." Lucy nodded and gave Loki a smile. "Well in that case can you tell the rest of my spirits and all others who are not working today that they are welcome to join my birthday celebration. You Know where it is and don't forget to invite Stash Face to the party." Loki looked at her as thought she had gone crazy. "Forget to tell the king that he's invited to your birthday? You have to be kidding me he'll be happy to join. Don't worry he has a normal human form that doesn't stop time." With that Loki left some stardust as he disappeared. "Well it looks like we should be going to the party then everyone." The guild cheered and they all began to run out side to head to the rainbow sakura trees. Laxus held Lucy close to him as they walked at a slower pace than the rest. By the time they got there the guild and the rest of the guests from the town and other guilds were there. As Lucy walked up on stage a hush spread through the crowd and all was quiet.

"I would like to welcome you all to my birthday party. As you all Know it is a special day for any person to turn 18. But what some of you don't know is that for a celestial born Madge it is even more important. It is the day that the third block on our magic breaks and we not only get stronger but there is the chance that we will find our soul mate. Today I have found mine. For those who were making bets of who I would end up with I would like to introduce to you my soul mate Laxus Drayer." People began to hand over money to various others and chuckles burst from the whole crowd. "Now I do believe that you are waiting for this shin dig to start so with the arrival of the celestial spirits the part will begin." As Lucy said this last sentence the spirits who could come with Lucy's own spirits arrived in sparkles of different colours. Another cheer and everyone went off in groups and couples. Lucy leaped of the stage to greet the spirits and went strait to Aquarius wrapping her arms around the mermaid. "Love you Aqua thank you for coming, and the rest of you thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday."

Aquarius scowled at Lucy and "Tck! Your not so bad for a brat." her scowl then turned to a genuine smile. "You know your mother would be proud? Layla always said that you would make the world a better place. I will admit that I didn't believe her but I'm glad I was wrong." With that said she then swam away towards Scorpio. The rest of the spirits all talked with various people and Lucy was always with Laxus and a spirit whither it was one of her friends or one with contracts with someone else or no contract at all. At one point Lucy found herself with the celestial king. He was wearing a blue doublet with a crisp white shirt, his hair was dark blue almost black and his cape look like the starry night sky. "Hey stash face. Thank you for allowing me to have the equip key." The king smiled at her. "I did not make the choice on my own. The spirit of that key has only one purpose and that it to make the decision of who is worthy to hold him. you impressed not only me but him as well when you put your life on the line to save my old friend Leo. He came to me not long after that to tell me that he had chosen you to wield his key. The tests that will happen when you call him are important not just for you but for him and all other spirits in the celestial world as well. Leo is a lot happier than he has ever been as is all your spirits. I can ask nothing of you that you have not already done. You treat all of those contracted to you as family and equals. You even fight with them instead of making them fight for you. Not even the first celestial mage born or other wise did that. I can honestly say that you have earned more respect from myself and all the spirits in the celestial world. Those that do not have a contract live in hope that you will find their keys so they can serve you. You have earned the title of Celestial Princess as that is what all spirits now call you. I have no daughter by blood but with both your mother and farther dead I would be honoured to be allowed to call you my daughter."

Lucy blinked for a moment and then threw herself at him wrapping her arms around his neck hugging him. "The honour would be all mine... Pa." The celestial king allowed a full blown smile to stretch across his face as he hugged her back. As he moved back the celestial king called forth some stars from the sky and they settled upon Lucy's head making a crown that shone brightly for a moment and then changed to pure white gold. The king kissed his new daughters head. "My little girl you may be now but you must still abide by the rules. This gives you no advantages over any other like yourself it just means if you need some advise you can talk to me mentally or even if you just want to talk." Lucy laughed. "That sounds perfect Papa." As the night got late people and spirits began to leave and Lucy found herself saying goodbye to friends and family. Last of the spirits to leave was those contracted to herself and her new Papa. Lucy then said goodbye to the last of the people before turning to a group of teens. "There's 2000 jewls in this bag for each of you. Any left over food you can keep. All presents are to be sent to the Fairy Tail guild and the rest is to be cleaned up. As soon as this is done you will be able to touch the bag and get what is yours. Until then there is a shield around it that will know weather or not the job is done."

As Lucy got ready for bed she wished she was with Laxus but he had gone home after dropping her off at her flat. Falling asleep Lucy had sweet dreams that soon turned into a nightmare. Waking up Lucy noticed it was an hour before sun rise so she got dressed in a skirt top boots and belt and made some breakfast. After eating Lucy made her way to the guild. Finding no one there Lucy began to tidy up and get the guild ready for when everyone got there. As she was finishing cleaning Mira arrived and stood blinking at how clean it was. "Lucy you didn't have to clean the mess up you know?" Lucy chuckled while shaking her head and finishing the last table and turning back to face the demon barmaid. "I woke up early and needed something to do." "What about opening your presents from people not in the guild?" Lucy blushed and shrugged walking over to the presents. "Want to hep me open them and wright some thank you letters?" Mira rolled her eyes and walked over to her.

From the Pegasus guild Lucy got another gate key this one was for the hero Hercules. Hercules was as smart as he was strong, he was 6 ft with blond hair and wore a pair of khaki pants without a top. Hercules was free on week day's but the weekend was his own unless it was an emergency. From the mermaid tail guild Lucy got a new dress that she liked. It was a yellow sundress that came down to her knees with a brown belt to put her keys on. The belt had anti-theft spells woven into it. Surprisingly the Sabertooth guild had accepted her invite and had gotten her a kitten that she adored. It wasn't a exceed but it was adorable. Lucy named it Sabre and feed it some cream and chicken. The kitten was white with what looked to be black tiger marking's. Then there was various things from other people but the last one had her curious. The present had a note attached witch she read first.

Lucy,

we would like to apologise for everything that we said and did. The other day when the guild cheered for you when we kicked you off the team got us thinking. We went off to think about how we had treated you these past few month's. What we found we did not like. I Erza Scarlett did not like that I had ignored and demeaned the one person that I truly thought of as a sister. I know that I could never get that same relation back with you but if you let me try I will spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you. Natsu feels the same and is just as distraught as I am. Lissanna does not know you as well as the rest of the guild but has found that her actions came from how jealous she was of you. After a talking with us we found that she thought the we had all replaced her with you when she had been taken to Edolas. She now sees that neither she or you could ever be replaced and that you are both light in our guild but you shine just as brightly in different way's. We got together to make you this as an apology and a birthday gift. We hope that you like it and that you accept us saying sorry.

When Lucy finished reading the letter she found that she was in Laxus's arm's and tear's were streaming down her face. Handing the letter to Laxus Lucy opened the box. Lucy reached in and took out a globe. The globe was like the ones you get for Christmas but in the globe was a single flame burning a bright red in the shape of a tiger roaming a little metal forest. A note said that the metal was from Erza's heaven's wheel armour and the flames were made from a powdered claw from Lissanna's tigress form combined with Natsu's flame's of regret. As far as an apology went it was exquisite. Laxus took it and handed it to Freed who then cast some spells to see if there was anything other than what was supposed to be there. He then handed it back to Lucy who smiled and went to the master's office. "Master can you please change the name of Nata's team to Forgiveness?" Makarov smiled at her and nodded his head getting the paper work out for her to sign. "You didn't come change the name officially yet so you can change it officially now. Do remember that this is permanent though." Lucy signed the documents and walked out with a large smile on her face.

Walking out into the training field while Laxus followed Lucy took out the only Key she did not have a contract with. The Equip key. Standing in the middle of the training area she did not see the thunder tribe, Mira and Master follow as well. "I call upon the celestial spirit's, I am one who connects the roads to the gates. I call upon thee spirit of equipment, EQUIP!" There was a blast of wind that almost had Lucy on the floor but she stood her ground whilst shielding her eye's from the multi coloured light that was growing in size and brightness in front of her. The rest that was there also had to do the same. Suddenly the light was gone and the wind died down so they could stand and see who was before them.
