Chapter 9
Lucy stood looking at the middle aged man feeling the power run off of him. He was 5ft4 with brown hair and eyes he was wearing jeans trainers and a black muscle shirt with a trench coat. "Good morning miss Lucy it's nice to finally meet you. I am Equip and in order to use my key you must pass three tests. The first test you do not partake in. I will be going around your guild and asking one different question to five different people. If I get the answers I seek then you will have passed the test. I will allow one wrong answer and that is all. The second test is a task that you must do a task with people that I choose. Fail and there is no second chance. Finally the last test will be one question that I will ask even if you do not pass the other test for I like to know the answer so that I can see if my judgement is correct of the person I choose." Lucy nodded and lead Equip into the guild witch had started to fill up.
Equip left Lucy to go wandering around. He stopped in front of Gajeel. "What would you say your best memory of miss Lucy is?" Gajeel looked up from the piece of Iron to see some guy standing in front of him. Sniffing he could tell that this guy was a spirit so he guessed that this was the one that was testing his bunny girl who he secretly saw as a little sister. "My best memory of Bunny girl is the time I was in phantom lord." people looked at him as if he was crazy. "I stood there beating the shit out of her and she stood back up and told me that I was making the biggest mistake of my life in doing so. She told me how Fairy Tail was not just a guild but a family and that the family would come looking for me to take revenge for what I was doing if I carried on. At the time I was an arrogant bastered and didn't care. I was having fun but she stood tall and proud telling me that family is everything and that it looks out for each other no matter what. Lucy was trying to warn and help me at the same time. I just didn't see it until I joined this guild. She and others that I had hurt all forgave me what I had done but the memory of her standing there helpless as I beat her, and yet she was still stronger enough that she would try to help me. That is the best memory I have of her." People by the end of this nice little speech had their jaws on the floor and Lucy was almost in tear's but with a smile on her face.
Equip nodded and and began to walk around the guild again. He stopped in front of the master who was sat on the bar again. "In you opinion what is miss Lucy's place in this guild?" Mangrove look at the spirit for a moment then smiled. "Lucy has no specific place the same as any of my children. They all work together to make sure their family is safe whilst they help others. How ever in my personal opinion she is like a light guiding us. When we have been arguing she has all ways found a way to stop it and then find a solution. Just as the constellations guide her she has been the star to guide us in difficult times. We can not and will not lose her she is our precious Kama." Equip smiled at the answer that was given and proceeded to walk around the guild. He stopped in front of Natsu, "What do you think is miss Lucy's worst point?" Natsu Looked at the guy as though he had lost his head. "She keeps putting herself in danger. Most of the time when she does she could have easily summoned a spirit to take the attack but she refuse's to deliberately harm them as she puts it." Equip walked away shaking his head.
Equip wandered about for a while and then just sat down at a table as though waiting for something to happen. Lucy turned to Mira and asked for a strawberry milkshake and a ice cream Sunday. When Mira went to get Lucy's order Lucy pulled out a key and summoned Plue. Picking him up she placed him on the top of the bar and Mira put the ice cream Sunday in font of him while Lucy drank her milkshake. Equip stood in front of Mira when she had finished "What do you think would make miss Lucy the happiest?" Mira didn't hesitate in answering his question. "Lucy is happiest when she knows all her family and friends are safe. To make Lucy even happier you just have to help her find more friends and family including any gate key's. However their are those that abuse their spirits so another way to make her happy is to make sure that those that do abuse their spirits are taught a lesson because the spirits can not do it themselves. Look at what happened with Loki, Lucy had to demand that the celestial King reconsider his ruling."
Equip smirked at her answer and then walked away chuckling. He walked up to Wakaba and gave him a contemplating look. "How do you make miss Lucy mad?" He asked so Lucy couldn't hear him Wakaba smirked at him "Want me to show you or should I tell you?" was his reply. Equip looked at him puzzled. "Do what you thinks best I am gathering information at the minuet." Wakaba got up and walked over to Lucy. "Hey Lucy you spirit's have to be the dumbest thing's around if they are asking me questions about you!" Lucy's head snapped up as she spun around pulling her whip out. Lucy wrapped her whip tightly around Wakaba and in 20 seconds had him dangling from the ceiling so that his face was level with hers. "You ever speak like that about my family again Wakaba and you are in deep shit. As it is I am handing you over to Aquarius tomorrow because I gave her the day off today and she can do whatever she wants with you." Lucy pulled her whip sharply causing it to release Wakaba and let him smash into the ground. Equip smiled and went back to the celestial world.
Appearing in front of the celestial king and Loki. "Well my old friend how did my daughter do?" "I will say one thing for sure. You know how to pick them as do I. Not even my first and last master got all five right. But she did. I want her to pass K. Go and tell your princess that I will be back in the human world in 2 days time. Loki you may tell her that she has passed all five questions!" Back at the guild Lucy knew as soon as Equip was gone and thought that she must have failed the test. Ten minuets later Loki appeared by her and grabbing her from behind Spun her around Shouting "You did it, youdidit,youdidit,YOU DID IT!" "LOKI! Put me down and calm down! Now tell me in a slow and calm manner what did I do?" Loki put her down and had a shit eating grin on his face. "You passed all five questions asked to other people. They answered the questions correctly and Equip will be back in two days time for the second part."
Master got up on the top rail and shouted for the whole guild to hear. "Party for Lucy passing her first of three tests!" The entire guild cheered and and the party started. It was a typical guild party with drinking fighting and down right debauchery. Lucy left the guild a nine at night to go home and Laxus followed her to make sure she was safe. When she had unlocked her door Lucy turned around and looked directly at him even though she could not see him in the shadows. "Are you coming in Laxus or not?" Laxus smirked and grunted but followed his soul mate into her apartment. Looking around he turned to Lucy. "Too much pink in this place. It looks like salamanders hair." Lucy giggled. "It was decorated like this when I moved in and I'm not allowed to redecorate because the land lady's daughter did this." Laxus grunted and sat on the couch pulling her into his lap.
