Hello, everyone! Did you miss me? I'm nowhere near ready to be back yet, but the first promo came out today and I think it would be cruel of me to sit here and drag it out so long and it wasn't hard to write. But October is a month away so...sadly, we're going to have to spend a little more time waiting. Anyways, enjoy this! It's a little something to hold you over and will hopefully remind you that this story isn't going anywhere. All right, I'll stop now. Here's The Vampire Diaries Season 6 promo!

Disclaimer: Promo's not mine, but if I had a choice, we would've seen this thing at Comic Con.

Jeremy sat at Bonnie's tree stump grave with a bottle of alcohol in his hand that he nursed with tears in his eyes. On the tree stump beside him was a picture of him, Elena, Mads, Matt, and Bonnie, all smiling for the camera as it recorded that special moment. All of the items that they had placed for Bonnie the first time she passed still sat there now, almost haunting Jeremy for the time he wasn't supposed to have with the witch.

"We just lost two of our closest friends," noted a sad Caroline. Elena Gilbert stood by a box of things, and she pulled out a picture of her and Damon back during their summer together before she realized it was all a lie. But despite what had happened, she knew that there were moments when it was real for Damon. Real for her.

"I need you to give me hope," Madeline pushed as she sat in her car with her phone held tightly to her ear. Her palms were sweating and her heart felt heavier than a bunch of bricks.

On the other side of the line, Stefan stood at a kitchen center island with a case of beer not too far from his fingertips. "Damon's gone," he explained to the broken shell of his best friend. "You need to say goodbye, too."

Encased in a bed of satin, Madeline looked down to see the diamond engagement ring she was sick and tired of seeing kill her every time she looked at it. Without hesitation, she wept for the man that she had lost and was afraid that she would never stop crying for him, a fear that she hated.

When all is lost

Using her newfound vampire powers, the eldest Gilbert flashed Luke Parker up to a wall with her hand gripping his shirt tightly. Her eyes were lined with sadness and insanity, but her appearance was the furthest thing from her mind.

"I need to see Damon," the newborn demanded, breathless.

"Mads is a vampire now," said Caroline as she looked around with wrought eyes. "And definitely not a normal one."

Bite back

A shade of blood red flashed beyond Madeline's eyes as she tipped her head back and threw her new fangs into the neck of a screaming human who she showed no mercy to at all. A thick stream of blood fell down the human's neck and dripped onto her clothes, staining the fabric.

Caroline held her head high as she explained over the phone in a know-it-all tone, "Do you know she has some sort of witchy drug problem that allows her to hallucinate Damon?"

The vampire took out a packet of herbs from her pocket and poured it into the mortar as quickly as she could. With the pestle in her other hand, she ground up the ingredients needed all while the candles burned bright beside her in a ritual-like manner.

Her eyes fluttered closed while a despaired expression came upon her face, and she waited for one sole word to be spoken.

"Madeline."

A misty-eyed Madeline snapped open her eyes at the addressing, her eyes wet with tears she'd grown quite tired of shedding.

"Move on," said Damon, who Madeline turned around to face as he spoke the words. She found herself letting them echo in her head over and over again, but a ring of disbelief surrounded her.

Move on?

The Vampire Diaries

Season Premiere Thursday October 2

I had originally planned for Madeline to keep her engagement ring on and use it as a daylight ring (someone could've replaced the stone...blah, blah, blah) but I decided against it. But she is definitely not a normal vampire, which we can see from the finale and the fact that the red flash in her eyes doesn't really go away. It's not as complicated as you might think, but if I can fit it in, I'm going to try to do something with it this season. Anyways, I'm not back yet, but when I am, I'm sure I'll be super excited so stay tuned!
