In the morning, after the doctor had checked everything over, Daniel was pronounced healthy and they moved on with daily activities.

The black haired boy walked into the main room of Arus castle to find all current members of the team in full uniform.

"What's going on?" asked Daniel, slightly bemused.

"Life in the castle has gotten a little dull," Lance smiled.

"So we thought..." Hunk continued.

"We're actually getting outside!" Larmina interrupted.

"We are get to take the lions out for a while," Vince laughed.

"Really?" Daniel tried to smile but his gut was twisting in jealousy. "Have fun."

He began to walk away before Lance grabbed his wrist. "You're not getting away from me that fast kid. Pidge upgraded black lion just for you. You get to come with us."

"Really!" Daniel smiled, a real smile that he fought to keep as they ran to their vehicles.

Once outside Daniel flipped the switch to activate his special upgrade and he shot forward, shouting with glee.

Hadn't this happened before?

He hit terminal velocity and behind him he could see the other lions, struggling to catch up.

He knew he had seen this before.

Daniel turned and jumped, landing in front of the Voltron force.

"Well, well," lance grinned.

No, this couldn't be happening.

"Looks like Daniel's coming back to join the pride."

No! He had said the words.

They all waited as the boy sped back to join them.

Those were the same words from his nightmare.

His head was fuzzy and he was loosing his grip on reality

and just like that he melted into his dream.

Only Vince heard Daniel's scream of pain. It was through the mind link. Vince, in a fit of panic, connected the video screen. Daniel's eyes were glowing violet.

"Oh no," he groaned.

"'Oh no' is never good," Hunk spoke through the com. The video link sprung up between all the lions. "Hey Daniel what's with the creepy glowing eyes?"

But before anyone could answer black lion pounced. Its claws slashed at red lion and its metal mouth was open in a snarl.

"Daniel stop messing around," Lance tried to laugh.

But when his ex-cadet answered it wasn't Daniel's voice. "Who said I was messing around?"

"We have to get back to the castle now!" yelped Larmina. Green and blue lion started to back away while red and yellow held their ground.

"Vince, Larmina what is wrong with Daniel? I swear if this is a trick–" lance was cut off by Pidge.

"What are you guys doing out there? I thought this was just supposed to be a quick run. I don't see a lot of running."

"I swear I'll explain–" this time Vince was cut off, this time by black lion pouncing on him.

"You promised you wouldn't tell!" screamed Daniel sounding even stranger.

"Back at the castle," Vince finished as he struggled out from under black. Black lion hissed at the escaping prey.

Suddenly the lion backed up and through the com you could hear Daniel's confused groan. "wha.."

As if they were connected, just as Daniel collapsed the black lion followed suit.

"Daniel!" Larmina shrieked.

"Stay put," Lance ordered but Larmina refused to listen as per her usual. Running from her lion and to Daniel's she had to fight back tears of panic. She would not let herself cry. Entering black lions piloting room a cry of terror rang through the intercom.
