A/N: Plays been over guys. It's sort of a yay and sort of a melancholy feeling, even now. So I'll have a bit more time to write. School's an assbutt, but it's almost over yay! BUT I'll be a college student next year so I don't know what'll happen after that. I won't forget about fanfiction, but it won't be my priority anymore. Other than all that I hope you enjoy the latest installment in this story.
Chapter 14
Dean watched cautiously as he observed Adam help Ezra and his babies into the back room of Harvelle's Pet Shop. It was dark back there, calming, and quiet. Ezra's five babies cooed and crawled over to their mother eagerly after he lied down. Ezra slowly let out his aching wings and his babies attached their mouths to them. Ezra let out a deep sigh and settled into the blankets Ellen had laid out. Adam sat patiently by his side, waiting to check his wounds until his babies were done eating. When his babies dispersed and laid down in the comfort of the blankets, Adam crept closer. Dean smiled a little and walked off in the direction of his brother and Castiel.
Adam carefully touched Ezra's injured wing and the smaller angel whimpered. Adam's hand flew away before it slowly returned and touched it once again. Ezra flinched and Adam stopped again.
"Look I know it hurts," Adam said, lowering his voice to a soothing level. "But you have to let me see what's wrong."
Ezra whined then slowly, ever so slowly, he let Adam touch the injury once again. Ezra's wing had been whipped it seemed. A typical punishment in Angel Mills. The wing had a rather large, red, gash on it that was clearly causing Ezra a huge amount of pain. Adam looked around and quickly located a rather copious amount of wraps for bandaging wounds and a good amount of alcohol for sterilizing. He poured a bit of the alcohol onto Ezra's wound and the smaller angel shrieked in pain. His babies, alert at the cries of their mother, cooed and squeaked in distress before Ezra had a chance to calm them by scooting close and licking each of their wings then turning back to Adam who smiled at the sight. Ezra's eyes were puffy from the abuse he'd taken and he lacked proper sight. That led Adam to believe that he was indeed afraid of him, but only because he couldn't see him. Ezra constantly shook with fear and Adam felt something take root deep in his gut. He felt sorrow.
"Hey now," Adam said, holding his hand out in front of Ezra's face. "Can you see me Ezra?"
Adam had a glimmer of hope when the younger Omega angel looked at him, but then after he shook his head the hope faded. Adam desperately looked around for anything that could possibly help when his eyes locked on a pair of golden framed glasses that were up on Ellen's shelf. He'd seen Ellen's husband wear them years ago when he was alive and helped Ellen run the pet shop. Adam crawled over to the shelf and grabbed them before moving back over towards Ezra. He cautiously placed the glasses upon the shaking Omega's face and stepped back a bit to admire him.
"Perfect." Adam said, Ezra could see much better than before and suddenly he could make out what Adam looked like. Ezra jumped a bit, but then slowly crept closer, sniffing Adam's neck to check his sex and "rank" as the Alphas and Omegas like to call it. Once he found out that Adam was an Alpha, Ezra backed up and lowered his wings submissively.
"No need for that," Adam smiled and Ezra looked confused. "We're equals here."
"B-But you're an—" Ezra's voice came out small.
"Alpha," Adam interrupted. "I know. That doesn't matter though. What matters right now is getting you better."
Ezra, although extremely confused, didn't argue any longer. He simply nodded and curled back up with his babies, a sight that made Adam's heart leap, although the young Alpha didn't quite know exactly why.

"I say we strike back again," Gabriel said, a ball of angry energy now. "Show that dick we're bigger and better!"
"And risk getting killed," Anna retorted to him, rolling her eyes in response as well. "No thanks."
Gabriel sneered. He didn't want any words of advice from anyone right now. Much less someone who was named Anna, Sam, not wanting it to escalate further cleared his throat and chimed in.
"I say we wait a bit," he explained. "Crowley is sure to be up in arms now since we actually managed to get away with some fledglings and a mother angel. We need to watch ourselves until he lets his guard down once again."
"Who knows if we can wait that long Sammy," Dean said, knowing full well that his brother was right, but they still couldn't wait too long or more angels would die. "Who knows what he'll do to those we can't rescue?"
Sam sighed, in a way Dean was also right. They needed to rescue others, but for the moment he was glad that Dean agreed it could wait. Dean locked eyes with Castiel and the Omega stared nervously at him, scared he might change his mind, but Dean never did. Instead he took Castiel by the hand and led him up the stairs to the rooms above the Pet Shop where Jo and Ellen stayed. Ellen had agreed to let the two brothers, Gabriel, and Castiel spend the night, with permission from Bobby and Jody of course. Within a few hours after the return from the mill excursion everything had managed to calm down and Dean had managed to get Castiel alone once again.
"Can I see your wings Cas?" Dean asked.
"You've seen them before Dean?" Castiel replied, confused.
"You know what I mean." Dean smiled and kissed up Castiel's neck as they lay in bed together.
Castiel sighed. Dean meant that he wanted to see all of Castiel's wings, from oil gland to tip. It was a common ritual for Alphas and Omegas courting one another, but as per usual it usually led to mating afterwards. Castiel wanted that. He wanted it more than ever, but now wasn't the time. His first mating with Dean had to be special. It had to be when everything was just right.
"Dean…" Castiel sighed.
"I know," Dean replied with a heavy heart. "I just thought I'd give it a try."
Castiel turned away from Dean and closed his eyes. Dean sighed heavily then managed to spoon Castiel without hurting where his wings would come out on his back. They had time. Dean knew they had time. So he didn't know why he felt as if time was suddenly, running out.
Read and Reviews are appreciated!
Sorry this chapter wasn't as long as I'd hoped. I'm feeling a little sick right now and I think I just need to lie down.
So, will Dean and Castiel ever have their moment?
And what's to come of Adam and Ezra?
And will they ever rescue the rest of those poor little babies?
More to come soon!
