SOOOOOO SORRY! It feels like I haven't updated this in FOREVER! Enjoy, everyone!

Anyways, if there is anyone out there who happens to read these painfully long authors notes, then you will now know this! I am currently in North Carolina, a long way from my dreary PA home, and the 22nd was MY BIRTHDAY! Guess who's sixteen? ;)

Oh, and I got Fire Emblem Awakening, FINALLY. So now my crappy fucking romantic life is momentarily filled with Prince Chrom and him protecting me from the zombies and evil demonic warlords. Yes, yes, I know. I'ma sixteen-year-old looser. BUT I'MA PROUD SIXTEEN YEAR OLD LOOSER!

Oh, and this is the last thing, I promise. Due to the fact that Fire Emblem had a shit ton of two things I love most, romance and adventure, I was wondering if MAYBE anyone was possibly interested in a Fire Emblem Awakening Amy47101 written fanfiction. I've had a ton of ideas brewing, even though I didn't finish the game, but I'm unsure if it would be interesting to any of ya'll.

So... yeah. If you read this, please state your opinion in your review! Thanks! ^.^

Amy47101 does not own pokémon.

The Reality of Serenity

"Hey you! You're the runt that beat me in Glittering Cave!" Serena crossed her eyes staring at the finger pointing accusatively, and rather rudely, in her face. She looked up at the fingers owner, seeing a Team Flare grunt. "I demand a rematch!"

"Let me get this." Calem said, stepping up beside her. Serena shook her head, glaring at the grunt.

"He wants to rematch me." she said. "Besides, I've been meaning to train up that new Eevee I caught, and this will be the perfect opportunity!"

"Houndour! Let her taste the flames of revenge!"

"Eevee, show 'em how strong we are!" Serena exclaimed. "Baby Doll Eyes!" Eevee blinked her eyes innocently, making big huge eyes at Houndour. Houndour flinched, stepping back as if feeling bad for making Eevee put on such a sad face. "Bite!" Eevee burst forward, fangs glowing, then clamped her teeth around Houndours front leg.

"Shake her off!" the grunt exclaimed. "Use Ember!" small balls of flames burst at Eevee, and she jumped back hissing slightly as small patches of fur were alit in flickering flames.

"You're fine, Eevee! Use Swift!" Eevee nodded, jumping up and doing a front flip with her tail glowing. While doing this, several golden stars burst out and hit Houndour, knocking it out. Eevee, celebrating, flinched from the burns inflicted from Ember.

"Golbat!" the Flare grunt exclaimed. Serena furrowed her eyebrows, then smirked.

"So you evolved your zubat." she said. The grunt seemed slightly taken aback.

"You remembered...?" he muttered. "Argh! You're distracting me! Bite!" Golbat burst forward, clamping it's teeth around Eevee, then throwing her into the air. Eevee shrieked in pain and surprise.

"Eevee, you're okay, regain control and use Swift!" Serena orderd. Eevee steadied midair and flipped, sending shining stars flying at Golbat. It landed on the ground, using it's wings as a sort of shield to protect itself from the stars, though the shield did not do much to help. "Quick Attack!" Eevee became surrounding in a bright light, slamming into Golbat, knocking it out.

"Wha... Huh?! You're even stronger than last time!" exclaimed the grunt angrily. Suddenly, a halo caster on his belt started beeping, and he took it, answering the call while turning away from them, mumbling responses and nodding every few seconds. He whipped back around to Serena and Calem, hands on his hips. "Listen you two! I've got work to do! So I will leave this scene to my comrades... with style!" With that he turned, walking away while three other grunts approached them.

"Okay Seré, you have to let me handle this one." Calem grinned, holding up three pokéballs. "You chase after that one grunt. Something tells me that he's going to meet up with a boss or something." Serena smiled slightly, adjusting her ball cap on her head.

"As you wish, Cal." she responded, then jogging after the Team Flare grunt while the sounds of battle erupted behind her. It wasn't that hard to keep up with him, since he was wearing bright red and, oh yeah, the fact that he was doing a skip-dance while singing a song about how glorious Team Flare was. Team Flare grunts were not good at subtlety.

She followed him between the log cottages of Geosenge Town, and saw him pausing as he turned down a barren path. he suddenly turned, pointing at her.

"A-ha! I knew you were following me!" he exclaimed. Serena blinked, stumbling back and wondering how he could've known. "Anyways, I can't battle you right now 'cause I'm needed..."

"And I fainted all your pokémon and you haven't bothered to heal them yet." Serena pointed out.

"Are you sure?" he asked, tossing another pokéball into the air. The Golbat from before popped out. "But I shall leave you with this!" he exclaimed, pointing at her. "Use Hypnosis, my specially bred Golbat!" Serena flinched, stepping back as the hypnotizing rays hit her, making her eyes grow heavy and her mind drowsy. She slumped against the house she was hiding behind, her entire body feeling heavy. "Listen here, you brat! Only those who fight with flair will win!"

Serena honestly couldn't tell if he was referring to 'Flare' as in the team he was in or the word 'flair' as she lost consciousness...

"Sh... C'mon Serenity, everything is going to be okay. Please stop crying for your Momma, sh..." there was a sigh as the wailing continued. Serena could see a woman above her, holding her, with light, honey-brown hair, but her eyes were strangely shaded with her bangs. She couldn't see them. The wailing seemed to get louder and louder.

It took a minute, but then Serena realized the wailing was coming from her, and she was just an infant.

There was a hiccup between the wailing, and suddenly a large yawn. Shuffling footsteps came into the room.

"Oh! Did we wake you, Sid? I'm sorry! She just won't stop crying!" exclaimed the woman, turning. Now Serena could see a man with long brown hair, tied at the nape of his neck and wearing slightly ruffled pajamas. His eyes, like the woman's, were obscured with shadows.

"Aw, poor little Seré! C'mere..." the woman passed her off to the man, whom held her under her arms, lifting her up in the air, then lowering himself gently to the ground, then lifting her back up again. He did this repeatedly until she stopped crying, then passed her off to the woman. "The elevator, Flora, it always works." the woman smiled, and Serena imagined an eye roll.

"How could I forget, Sid?" she said jokingly. Serena could feel herself whimpering again, and Flora looked down. "Now I'll show you how I calm her down." a small humming filled her ears, and suddenly there was singing. Serena recognized the words.

"You and I were born
right here in the same world.
For this one brief life,
We're beneath the same sky.

The great flow of time.
The wide expanse of space.
We are lucky enough
to share this lifetime we get.

We can gain more if we give.
By taking, we only lose.
Let us make this a new age
Where we show our gratitude.

There's a fragile bud of hope,
blooming in each of our hearts.
Don't you take that away.
Our dreams are meant to be shared..."

"Seré! Serena!" Serena woke to a startled gasp as she felt someone shaking her, her gray eyes snapping open to another pair of gray. Calem blinked rapidly, calming himself as she regained consciousness.

"Calem...?" she asked. Calem smiled, moving his hands from her shoulders.

"You had me scared there. You weren't waking up." he said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. Serena groaned, shaking her head and standing up.

"Stupid grunt used his Golbat and knocked me out with Hypnosis." Serena said angrily.

"Which way did the grunt go?" Calem asked as Serena stretched her arms above her head.

"Down that path, I think." Serena said. Calem turned towards her, a somewhat worried look on his face.

"You okay to investigate? I mean, we can always come back if you need to rest..."

"I'm fine." Serena nodded determinedly. "Besides, if we wait any longer, then we'll never, ever catch up to that grunt." Calem stared at her a moment, then grinned.

"I like the way you think there, Seré." Calem said, both taking off down the path. It was surrounded by trees, but as they neared closer, they saw stones piled up rather strangely. Serena quirked an eyebrow looking at it.

"Are unusual ancient monuments common in Kalos?" she asked, casting a side glance at Calem. Calem looked slightly baffled.

"Well, maybe in Geosenge Town, since it is known for it's unusual stone structures, but otherwise..." he trailed off, looking at the monument, then walking closer to it, examining the stones. "Honestly, Serena, I'm doubting the 'ancient' part."

"Why is that?" Serena asked, walking up next to him. Calem pointed to the ground.

"See that?" he asked. Serena raised an eyebrow.

"Dirt...?"

"No, the marks in the dirt!" Calem exclaimed. Serena looked closer, realizing that, indeed, there were markings in the dirt, near the stone closest to the monument. "Those are drag marks."

"So something was moved here recently." Serena said, kneeling down to examine them closer. "Maybe a pokémon caused it?"

"Sure, if pokémon could suddenly drag things from behind stone walls." Calem said. "Look, they start behind this stone," he smacked the stone in front of them for emphasis. "Drag about three paces forward..." he took three steps along the drag lines. "Then suddenly take a sharp right for about five paces, ending there." he pointed at a small, tiny pile of dirt, the reminiscent of what had moved.

"It's almost a perfect ninety degree angle too..." Serena mused, now seeing flaws in her theory.

"So unless a very tactful ghost pokémon somehow dragged it out from behind there and then enlisted the help of a flying type to move it, whatever it may be, I highly doubt it's a pokémon."

"Maybe it wasn't an it, or rather, a stone." Serena said, looking at the stone.

"Eh?" Calem asked.

"Maybe this stone is... a doorway of some sort?"

"So... what? We say a magic password and it'll open?" Calem asked, grinning. "Sounds legit to me! Open sesame! Move! Password!" on the final word, he jumped in the air, and Serena laughed when he landed. Calem looked at her, trying to hide his joking smile, though the corners of his mouth twitched upwards anyways. "What? Couldn't hurt to try!"

"You looked like an absolute moron." she said, shaking her head, though unable to hide her own smile. "Come on, we should head to the pokémon center and rest a bit. Then we should head out to the next town." Calem nodded in agreement, both forgetting about the strange monument, though one thing still nagged at the back of Serena's mind. That dream she had wasn't like a dream... it was like...

Like a memory.

"No! Not even my famous Lucario duo could stand up to you?" Serena smiled at her two pokémon, Kirlia slightly shy and modest as she shuffled from side to side on her toes, Wartortle proudle showing off his most recent evolution. Korrina's two Lucario had fainted, and the young skater was now returning them to their pokéballs.

"Great job, you two. Rest easy now." she said, returning the two pokémon.

"Okay! Now I get it!" Korrina said, smacking her fist into her palm. "I see why Lucario wants to rival you so much! So! Do you remember I'm the Gym Leader in Shalour City?"

"Yup. You've mentioned it." Serena said. Calem popped up behind her.

"Does she get a gym badge now?" Korrina blinked, then let out a dejected sigh.

"No... It wasn't an official League battle, taken place in or near the gym. so I can't officially give you the badge, Serena. Sorry, but League rules." Korrina said, rubbing the back of her neck bashfully. "Once you get past the cave just beyond here, you'll be in Shalour City, so stop by and say hello!"

"Okay! Promise, Korrina. Then I'll earn that Gym Badge!" Serena exclaimed. Korrina smiled.

"With that Kirlia, no doubt you will!" Korrina laughed. "Also... I was wondering... Is that the Gardevoirite around her neck?"

"Yeah. I have Blastioisite too, but don't plan to put it on Wartortle until he's fully evolved." Korrina turned her attention to Calem.

"How 'bout you? Any Mega Stones I should know about?"

"Oh, um, Absolite and Venusaurite."

"Ah, so good 'ole Sycamore did ask you to research Mega Evolution. Well, meet me up at the Tower of Mastery when you get to Shalour! Gramps, I mean, the Mega Evolution Guru, would be delighted to meet you!"

And with that she skated off.

Serena stared at her journal, rereading the dream she had recorded in it, and sighed. Ever since she started this journey, she had begun to record the strange flashbacks she had in this notebook, the first page being with the lyrics of the strange lullaby she remembered, the most recent page filled with every detail of the dream she had when unconscious. She was sure it wasn't a forced dream due to a pokémon move, but a memory resurfacing from her self consciousness.

But a memory of what? That baby was her, no doubt, it had to be! But that woman... Flora, if she recalled correctly, who was she? Just the fact that her name was Flora proved she wasn't her mother, Grace, and even so, her mother never, ever had long hair like that woman's, the wispy hairs nearly falling to her lower back. Her mom always kept her hair cut at least above her shoulders, and the color! The color was honey brown, while her mother always had dull brown hair.

There was a man, too. She knew right away that it was not her father. Her father always hated boys and men whom let their hair grow past their ears. He hated it with a passion, keeping his stiff black hairs in a neat buzz, declaring it was the only and best style for men. The man in her dreams, though, had long hair that was tied at the nape of his neck, a brunette. Not her father in any way shape or form. He was called Sid, a far stretch from her fathers name.

Plus they called the baby Serenity too... But her name was Serena!

"You okay?" Calem asked, breaking her out of her thoughts. "You've been staring at that notebook a while now." Serena turned her attention to him, and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm fine." she said as they neared Reflection Cave. "I just had a strange dream when I was unconscious back there, that's all."

"Oh. You wanna talk about it?" he asked. Serena shook her head.

"No..." suddenly, an idea struck her. "But I wanna call my mom first. Would you mind?"

"Nope! Not at all!" Calem said cheerily. "I'll wait over there, then." he walked away, and Serena pulled out her Halo Caster. Her mom answered almost immediately.

"Serena!" she exclaimed. "You haven't called in a while. How's your journey going?"

"Great, Mom!" Serena responded, smiling. "Um, I have a strange question."

"Oh?"

"Do you or Dad have any siblings by the name of Flora or Sid?" there was a pause.

"... Flora and Sid, eh? What odd names. Well, I'm an only child, and your father had a brother, but his name was Quincy and he died in a fire a long time ago. So, no, no Flora's or Sid's in the family."

"What about Serenity? Any Serenity's in the family?" she asked, deciding to try it out, to see if her mom knew anything.

"Nope, none that I know of. In fact, the only Serenity I know of is Serenity Green, the younger sister of Leaf Green who went missing all those years ago!" she laughed good heartedly. "Are you thinking you're the lost Serenity Green?" she asked jokingly. Serena let out a sigh, a smile on her face.

"No, just wondering."

"Well, okay then. Call me and update me on your journey!"

"Right, Mom. Bye." Serena hung up the phone, staring at it for a good long while after her mom hung up.

"You done, Serena?" Calem called out. Serena glanced up, and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" she responded, shoving the Halo Caster in her bag and jogging to catch up with him. She should feel comforted. She had no relation to this Flora or Sid or Serenity, her mother confirmed it for her. But a small voice in the back of her mind told her to investigate further, to delve deeper... She shook her head, clearing these thoughts away. Case closed, it was just a dream!

The nagging voice did not go away.
