Chapter 25
"Fuck," Sam cursed as Ruby finished on top of him. Sam's heat had come again and with Gabriel being distant as ever in that department Sam had yet to find time to court him and much less take care of his problem. So he went to his first relief. He knew she'd be there. They had a few days before their plan to take Crowley down was going to commence and he figured he was entitled to a little fun. The Alpha whorehouse was filled with loud music and energy as always and Sam sat in one of the back rooms on a chair as Ruby climbed off his lap. "You're good."
"Why thank you Sam," Ruby smirked and sat next to him. She rolled the condom they'd used off of Sam and threw it away in a trash can nearby. "You seemed twice as elated as usual tonight. Is it a special night?"
Sam hesitated. He knew it was probably a bad idea to tell a total stranger about his friends' plans to overthrow the biggest mill in the area, but then again Ruby was a prostitute. They were basically treated in the same way the angels in mills were treated. He could only assume that Ruby would be thrilled to know something was being done about it. Against his better judgment Sam opened his mouth.
"Yeah actually," Sam lowered his voice and motioned for her to come close. "You know Crowley's mill?"
"Oh lord," Ruby practically shuddered. "The very sound of his name gives me an unpleasant tickle down my spine. Why are you bringing him up of all people?"
"Well cuz I have this group of friends," Sam explained. "Well they're more family actually, but anyway we're gonna take Crowley down. We're gonna run his mill to the ground and lock him up."
Ruby seemed shocked at this. She was unable to find anything to say at first, but Sam looked so excited over the feat though that she found she was breaking into a rather large smile. She bit her lip before speaking again.
"I think it's a great idea," she finally replied. "I think this will change it all for every Omega and feral Alpha out there. All of us are already cursed with heats and winged appendages out of our backs. It's not right for us to be treated any more like animals than we already are."
"You really think so?" Sam asked. Ultimately he'd been rather nervous about the idea from the start especially since Charon's son had proposed it, but now he felt as though they could actually do it. "Would you want to help us?"
"I wish I could," Ruby said with an ounce of sincerity in her voice. "But it's not safe for Omegas to try to fight the big man. I could just as easily get captured than killed if you all fail for any reason."
"I understand," Sam nodded. "But I assure you we won't fail. We've got a few good assets on our side."
"Let me guess?" Ruby inquired. "The cops and someone on the inside?"
A bit of nervousness rose in Sam's stomach. He was debating going any further with the discussion, but was relieved when Ruby spoke first.
"Because if you want a successful undercover op you've gotta have that don't you?" she smirked.
"I suppose you're right," Sam stood, afraid of wandering eyes and ears, he walked out of the back room leaving behind a wad of cash for Ruby's services. He left the Omega behind and slipped through the front doors of the whorehouse. Ruby wandered over to the old wooden chair where Sam had left the cash and counted it quickly before pocketing it. She was supposed to split profits with the house, but she owed someone half of it anyway.

Night fell and the stench in the air never died in the Alpha pens. Dean shook with pain and hunger. He hadn't eaten anything since that morning and even then he'd only picked at it. Benny had tried to sneak him something far more edible than what Crowley gave his angels, but to no avail. Dean was in too much pain to eat and unfortunately he had the fight of his lifetime that evening. He was already high up on the scoreboard and one more fight would put him on top. He hadn't the slightest idea who he had to take down to get there, but he hoped they wouldn't take him out. The last thing he wanted anyone to see was his limp and cold body bleeding out in the dirt of the fight arena. Strangely enough he wanted to be the one to taste the blood.
Dean was by no means evil like Crowley. The anger that had entered his blood was self induced. He couldn't blame anyone but himself as the cause of it. His burning desire to get out of the mill was the only thing driving him, well besides Michael's near insistent and daily jabs at his ego. Alphas were typically docile unless their honor was challenged or their fledglings and mate were threatened. Michael had done everything an Alpha could do to get on Dean's every last nerve the entire time he'd been in the cage near him and though Dean was determined to get out of there with very few enemies Michael was slowly inching his way onto the list.
Benny pushed through the double doors and went over to Dean's pen, giving a look meaning that he had to talk to him. The undercover mill worker leashed up the other angels first and led them to other mill workers who took them to the preparation room where they'd stay before the fight. Once the cages were empty Benny came for Dean.
"The plan's in action tonight," Benny leaned down and lowered his voice to a whisper so the cameras wouldn't pick up on it. "Jody told me she and Bobby along with some others would be here tonight. Your brother and your friends included."
Dean's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Castiel being there too.
"You're to fight," Benny sighed. "But Dean please bide your time. Don't do anything stupid. Sheriff Mills will have cops surrounding the place and the last place you want to end up is in the pound again."
Dean touched his face where the scars from the muzzle still remained. He'd hated that place. The only redeeming thing had been Charlie who had gotten them out of there by way of Jody. He certainly didn't want to go back, but he also couldn't be killed. He knew that was the all of the other Alphas' ultimate goal since they didn't know of Dean's group's plan. He certainly would have to weigh his options that night. Benny leashed him up and the two of them walked to the back preparation room. It was abuzz with Alphas putting on stud collars and cleaning up so as to look nice for their funerals as Dean called it, but soon he found himself among them and doing the same damn thing. He hoped with all his might that he would survive that night.

The crowds of spectators poured into the mill and through the commons area eagerly awaiting the fight that night. Ron stood with Kevin on a leash and collared and his father Charon by his side. He was already making his way to the VIP seating in the stands. He passed by Bobby along the way and gave him a glance stating that he knew what to do. Bobby nodded at both of them to be friendly, but Ron and Kevin knew the true meaning behind it. Jody joined up with Bobby who had Sam on a leash and she had Gabriel on one. Ellen had joined them too with Castiel on one. They were posing as potential fight leaders until Jody sent the silent alarm to the cops to surround the mill and take Crowley and Charon captive. It had all been Ron's plan and she was only mildly surprised when Ron suggested they arrest his father too. He'd told her the old man meant nothing more to him than the dirt on the underside of his shoes anyway.
Bobby sat on the far left of the arena, Jody on the far right closest to the doors so she could make her timely escape to sound the alarm, and Ellen sat in the middle. All of their eyes were on Crowley when he sat down next to Charon trying to strike up a conversation, but honestly he looked more nervous than anything.
"Where are my pups Crowley?" Charon asked his voice harsh and full of imaginary knives.
"Oh you know," Crowley stammered. "They take awhile and Dean he's been training so hard he hasn't had too much time to—"
"You mean to tell me I have paid you to give me prize winning pups," Charon said in an accusatory tone as he inspected his nails and waited for the fight to start. "Yet you have yet to even mate Dean off? You're slacking Crowley."
"Oh calm your tits dad," Ron rolled his eyes. He was sick of hearing his father's banter. "It's not the end of the damn world."
"You are not to speak to me like that," Charon grabbed Ron's wrist so tight he was shaking in pain and it was turning reddish purple. "Do you understand me?"
"Y-Yes sir..." Ron gulped and Charon let go of him. Ron gingerly touched his wrist and winced in pain. Kevin looked over and reached around Ron's wrist using his powers to heal it. After he did so Ron looked at him with all the thanks in the world in his eyes. Ron Ryder didn't know what he'd do without his father's favorite pet. To Ron though, Kevin was far more than a pet. He'd been there for him on his darkest nights and had talked him out of many things a load of times. He was Ron's best friend and honestly he couldn't help, but say he loved the Alpha.
"This will all be over soon." Kevin said in a foreboding voice. Ron knew what he was referring to, but he also completely understood why Kevin was nervous. The aura in the air had even begun to change as they sat there. Bobby tapped his fingers on the wall in front of him. Ellen moved her feet nervously and Jody kept her eyes fixed on the arena.

Dean was in the cage. His blood was boiling from the drug and his mind was running one million miles an hour. His wings no longer ached and his senses were dulled. He heard the bell but for some reason this time it wasn't as loud as before. The door to his cage opened and Dean ran out full force and enraged. He held his angel blade by his side and looked around for his opponent as the crowds of cheering people filled his ears. He spun in a circle, taking it all in as fast as his senses would perceive and then finally he laid his eyes on his opponent. It was Gadreel.
Dean was shocked to say the least, all the work Gadreel had put in with him and this was how Dean was supposed to repay him? By killing him? It didn't seem right, but Dean also did not control who was put into the arena with him. Unless of course Gadreel's entire goal was make something of him and then tear it out from underneath him like a throw rug. Dean started to back up as Gadreel advanced on him; suddenly he looked bigger than before. Then Dean realized it was his imagination fucking with him.
"Gadreel," he started to talk as the two circled each other like prey each one ready to strike at a moment's notice. "I thought you were my friend."
"There's no such thing as friends in here Dean," Gadreel replied with a spiteful tone. "You think I honestly want a rookie surpassing me and decreasing my chances of staying alive? I had to play nice to get you in here and I was hoping you'd be killed by now, but you have more will to live than I thought and more faith that you'll actually win this too. There's a reason I'm on top Dean and this is it. Prepare for your death."
Gadreel stabbed first, but missed Dean. Dean worked on trying not to get impaled before the fight was even over. Technically they weren't supposed to draw their blades on each other until the end of the fight, but Dean had already broken that rule. The second round of drugs kicked in suddenly and Dean felt nothing, but white hot rage. He lunged at Gadreel and pinned him down. He then started to tear at his throat. Gadreel squealed and squirmed underneath Dean as the Alpha tore at his jugular. Dean had going home on his mind and his family and Castiel most of all. He knew the Omega would be so disappointed in him, but he was doing what he had to. He had to get home. It wasn't like Castiel was there after all?
Dean realized his grave mistake when he looked up at Castiel's horrified face in the audience. Dean looked down to see Gadreel was dead and bleeding out underneath him and his mouth was covered in flesh and blood that wasn't his. Dean felt faint and sick and he begun to spit and dizzily walk off from Gadreel's body. The whole room was spinning and Dean looked over to see flashing lights outside and a raid of police officers bust through the doors led by Jody who had snuck off just in time to call them. The crowd went running every which way and Dean's gaze tore to Charon who was struggling in handcuffs, but Crowley was missing. Dean saw three cops including Jody running after him Sam took off with her in hot pursuit. Crowley made a fast turn outside and hopped into a waiting car where Sam saw a very familiar smirking face.
"See ya fuzz!" Ruby said from the driver's seat and took off down the street. Sam stood in shock and the others joined Jody at her side. The cops were busy taking a bunch of fight leaders to their cars and driving them to the station for jail time before hopefully their court dates. Ellen and Castiel were the last ones out of the building and Benny followed beside them. There was a truck idling nearby and waiting to take them back to the pet shop. They'd go back for the others the after they got to safety.
Gabriel glared at Sam and suddenly attacked him in rage. Sam was shocked, but obviously defended himself.
"We had Crowley right where we needed him," Gabriel exclaimed and after putting Dean down in the back of the truck Benny and Ellen ran over to separate the two of them. Gabriel was kicking and struggling to get at Sam who was now sporting a rather nice shiner on his eye and staring at Gabriel. "And that whore you've been fucking helped him get away! I hope you're happy Sam! I hope you're fucking happy! Don't you dare even look in my direction you...you trash!"
"Alright that's enough!" Benny yelled and put Gabriel in the front seat with him so that he was away from Sam. Gabriel's words cut Sam deeply, but he all but stoically showed it by climbing into the truck bed and looking down at his feet. Jody got into her cop car nearby and sped off in hot pursuit of Crowley and his companion getaway driver with the other officers. Bobby and Ellen and the other angels climbed into the back too.
Dean's drugs were starting to wear off and as he looked up at Castiel all the relief and love he'd felt before faded with the look the Omega was giving him. It was of pure and utter disappointment and the sinking feeling in Dean's stomach returned. He curled up into a ball and closed his eyes as the truck bed was shut and the truck sped off towards the direction of the pet shop.
