Epilogue

Many months later...

It took awhile, but both Dean and Sam adjusted to having the Omegas around once again.

The feeling of Castiel next to Dean while he slept, while he ate, and everything in between was uplifting and peaceful. Castiel's breathing and heartbeat were rhythmic and Dean kept it with him at all times. It reminded him of simple times; times when the angel had been a baby and he had been scared out of his mind about where he would end up. He was brought back to reality when Castiel was near him. Dean still had nightmares about the mill. He would shake and cry and flail and Castiel, Castiel would be there. He would always be there. Dean could not ask for more. He honestly could not ask for more. Every time Dean looked at Castiel his world would become just a little brighter than it had been the night before when the dreams set in and the shaking started.

Dean and Castiel had come so far. Even now as Dean stood across from where Castiel was he could tell they had come so far. Castiel was walking with a smaller angel, a smaller angel that looked like both him and Dean. Dean smiled from afar and waved at the smaller angel and Castiel both. He sat with Jody, Sam and Bobby on either side of him. They were all visiting the resident house which it happened to be Jody's that week. Dean and Sam were next to one another on the porch, both with a half drunken beer in their hands. Smiles were abundant. They would never fade again. Not like they had before.

Sam saw the world differently too ever since he had made things right with Gabriel. His mate was expecting of all things. Sam had never expected to be with such a person in all of his life. Gabriel had brought the spark back into his dulling life. He was forever grateful for what the Omega did for him. He gave him a new perspective and a new inspiration of what to fight for this time. Sam watched as Gabriel let the son of Dean and Castiel touch his stomach. A smile grew on Gabriel's face and in turn the one on Sam's face grew as well. Sam remembered the nights spent close to Gabriel ever since the mill incident. The nights spent talking, loving and making love. He knew Dean knew what he was feeling as well. The older Alpha had been through Hell and back to get where they were now.

The Pet Shop was still doing well. Ellen and Jo had helped place a number of the fledglings that passed through their doors with the help of some of the ones who had been left in the dust along the way like Donathan. He was an active member of the community events they sponsored and so far he had adopted out a good number of babies. Ezra and Adam also helped with the efforts when they were not taking care of the one fledgling of the Ezra's that they had decided to keep and raise by themselves. Dean and Sam had never seen a happier couple. Ron and Kevin had successfully helped take down the ongoing mill ring that Charon and his brothers had started in the city. They were well known among the community and honored in the police force for helping with the efforts to bring down the crime rate by almost fifty percent.

In Dean's opinion things could have been better. He and Sam could have had a mother who had lived. He and Sam could have never been adopted by a man who was going to die in flames. He could have never taken the mill job. Sam could have never fucked the hooker. He and Sam could have grown up and become something right away. But right now Dean was content in their lives. If they had not taken the path they had in life, they would not have the best things in their lives right in that moment. They would be different Alphas. They might have even become studs in mills somewhere, not caring about Omegas. What a sad existence they could have had, but they did not.

They lived. They survived the abuse and the flames and the roadblocks and they had made it. With their Omegas and their friends by their side they had fucking made it. In the past Dean had not been sure of what love exactly was. He had always thought it did not exist. It was a figment of a story that children were told at night to sleep easy. It was something that ran away into the night and only came back when it wanted to. Worse of all he used to believe it did not exist. Sam had felt the same way.

But now as they sat in the light and the warmth and their love and friends, they were thankful. They had come to the light. They knew was love was. They knew how it felt and they knew that sometimes it had to come from hardship and turmoil to turn into something beautiful and secure. It had come from just that.

And now Dean and Sam could easily answer the questions of what love actually was.

And they were eternally grateful for that.

The End

Reviews are appreciated!

A/N: Look guys, I know all of you were expecting more. I know all of you were expecting this extravagant ending. I'm sorry I can't give that to you. Truth is I lost the love and motivation for this story a long time ago. I intended to finish it and now I have. I'm sorry if it's not the way some of you hoped it would be finished, but I'm sorry I have to just end it. It's time. I can't leave it in the back of my mind anymore. I hope you all aren't too mad at me (I understand if you are) and I hope you all enjoyed what I did do with it.

I'll see you all next time.
