Hi everyone, sorry it took so long to update but I had a lot planned for this chapter so it was difficult. Don't hate me but this chapter has some sad parts, and a somewhat unexpected plot twist. Try to remember that this story had started out with a fight for Hawke between two of my favorite characters, Fenris and Sebastian before you get mad at me.
Warnings: FenxHawke smut. HawkexSebastian smut.
Chapter 7
When their climaxes came and went one after the other and so on until morning and they were finally left to catch their breath as the morning light signaled them to while it cascaded down her bed Hawke found herself drifting off into sleep. It was inevitable, even if she wanted to stop herself and just stay awake and watch his eyes twinkle and cheeks blush , she couldn't. With him beside her again her body felt inner peace. It overwhelmed her and she could finally sleep after all those nights staying up late hoping he'd surprise her. He never did. Now he was here and she could relax.
She crashed so hard she hardly felt Fenris slip off the mattress. Hardly heard his shuffling of clothes as he redressed. Hardly saw his heartache as he looked back at her from the door. Leaving his personal heaven behind again and for what? The first time he had left it had at least been for her protection, but now it just felt needless. Danarius didn't hold his leash anymore, but he still managed to ruin Fenris's life. Fenris growled on his way down the stairs. Cursing in all the languages he knew. Damming his former master to the darkest places in Hell. Quietly of course so he didn't wake the goddess of a woman that he was leaving again. Each step an agonizing reminder of how very much alive Danarius was.
By the time he was out of the Hawke Estate he was fuming mad. He could be asleep curled up to the woman of his dreams in a bed made with actual feathers that had blankets with actual silk. He could be living the fantasy he had imagined since the moment he became a slave. But Danarius was still alive and there was nothing he could do about it.
But wait, there was.
He could kill him. Today. Now. He had a feeling he knew where he'd be. He didn't want to believe it but the letters his sister had been sending him seemed random and a bit too good to be true. Danarius was written all over them he was sure. It seemed a fair bet. All he had to do now was get there. Without looking back or giving into the angel on his shoulder, that told him to turn around and just embrace the life that he had now for the moment and worry about Danarius later- he went on his way. Thinking he'd be back in time before Hawke even woke up to tell her the good news.
Thinking his determination and adrenaline would kill any slaver in his way he didn't bother informing anyone of his plans. He left without a word. Only a hope that today would be the day he got his freedom.
...
But a few hours later Hawke woke up and whatever Fenris's plans might be she was clueless to. She only knew ,after a few minutes of fluttering her eyelids in disbelief, that she had been left again. She sunk into the sheets wanting to cry or scream or just feel. Because last time he left this numbness took over. She cried to feel. The worst part was it was on his pillow and she could smell him all around. Could feel his juices inside her still. Could hear his happy moans replaying in her head. But her tears stopped when she got to thinking.
" He played me." She spoke her insecurity. It was the only reason he left again. Offended that she got used and angry that it was by the man who held her heart she got up and dressed.
She had no choice but to go to the Chantry and ask for guidance.
She didn't bother wiping her face free of tears, it would look more genuine that way anyway. She ran as quick as she could to the Chantry, at least it's doors were always wide open. Welcoming her and loving her without ever leaving her. A nice change compared to her other relationships.
The place was empty the war between mages and Templars destroying the faith of the community. She got to sit up front. She did and she cried in front of the golden Andraste statue.
" What did I do wrong? "
Little did she know a certain archer heard her walk in and heard her tears. Sebastian used his roguish abilities to make it to her quickly and in silence. He didn't want to disturb her. Only wanted to comfort the woman comparable to the great Andraste.
He stood behind her and put his hands on both of her shoulders lightly. Before she could have a panic attack from being creeped up on he assured her it was him just with his accent. Massaging her shoulders as he comforted. " I'm sure whatever it is , it does not deserve your tears. "
" Sebastian?" Startled and a little put off by having another man's hands on her so soon after last night Hawke jumped a bit and turned to the familiar voice and smell of Sebastian. The touch was Maker blessed as her body was so sore from last nights activities, but she was too modest to be greedy. " You don't have to do that. "
He looked down at her from behind the bench that she was sitting on and gave her an insistent look before his thumb pads pressed deep into the stress points right between her shoulder blades and she whimpered at how good it felt.
Who was she kidding, she did not have the willpower to turn down a massage from this man. One feel of those slender but strong hands and she realized it was probably impossible for any woman to resist let alone herself in this vulnerable state. Damn, how his fingers went for days. So long they rubbed the front of her neck while also getting her back. It was exactly what she needed to distract herself from the pain. " Oh~ fine you win. Maker , go to the left a bit. " she practically moaned as her body decompressed under his touch and arched like a pleased cat.
He followed her instructions to a T and she was squirming in her seat from the natural pleasure she got from being touched and pampered. Her fingers curling around the edges of the bottom of the bench. Her toes curling as well in her shoes. It must have been five minutes before she spoke again. " You've got to tell me when you learned to be so good at massaging."
Sebastian gave her a smirk then that was a bit too sinful to be witnessed in such a holy place. She almost forgot she was talking to her friend and not a living angel of a man. She wanted to blush when he said, " Everybody has their secrets, lass. "
"When are you going to stop calling me that?" She turned to him making him stop the massaging for a moment and instead lay his hands on her shoulders in pause. He leaned down to smirk again as if knowing that she needed to be entertained then.
" When you stop liking it, lass. " He was such a tease. She turned back around a small smile on her face at how handsome he was when he was smug. At least something still made her smile after Fenris crushed her for the second time.
When she turned back around Sebastian continued the massage this time moving her hair out of the way with one hand. Fingertips purposely grazing her neckline for a brief moment of connection, to make her feel less lonely.
It had her shivering. He had unknowingly grazed past a hickie she had received from her lover last night.
But he did know, and that's why he had touched there to stimulate a reaction. " Hawke, tell me what he did. " Sebastian's hands held her biceps now to make her feel secure and safe.
" No you'll judge him. " Hawke squirmed out of Sebastian's touch and turned round to talk to him face to face. She lifted her knees up onto the bench so they were at the same height with him standing behind it. Their chests almost touching.
He gave her a look that told her he wouldn't leave or change the subject until he got an answer. He was practically tapping his foot in impatience.
" He left me. " She whispered. Barely audible. He hardly blinked he had obviously not heard her.
" You'll have to speak louder then that lass. " His smug smirk was back as he teased her with the pet name again.
She squinted her eyes at him angry that she couldn't do anything about his behavior in this sacred place. He was getting away with it this time. She however could embarrass him too.
" Fenris left me after sex Sebastian, a long night of sweet love making, hot penetration and sweet cunnil-" She was cut off by Sebastian's hand frantically covering her mouth.
She wasn't supposed to use that language here and that's how it was the perfect way to embarrass him. Elthina was looking down over the bannister above them with a curious eye, which is why Sebastian had shut Hawke up so quickly. He would have been in deep trouble if she had a heart attack from Hawke's foul mouth.
When Elthina left Sebastian released his hold and Hawke burst out laughing.
" Maker, Hawke you know sometimes you drive me absolutely crazy?"
" Yeah? Well that's what you get for calling me Lass. "
When she said it he smiled as if she was committing herself to him in some way by trying to pronounce the word from his home correctly. He leaned in a bit to her and brushed back her hair with his index finger. A pinch jealous that Fenris had had another night with her, but happy that she came here of all places to grieve. She was so much like him it made him ache. Even the way she pronounced the silly endearment.
" Stop looking at me like that. I'm having a crisis!" She couldn't believe he was just standing there batting his eyelashes while she was depressed.
When he brushed back her hair it was the last straw. She pounded his chest for attention. " Sebastian, focus!"
He looked down at her tiny, girly hands and smiled brighter. The Maker was real he was sure now because who else could have sent down an angel to touch him? He grabbed her wrists in one hand. " You have my attention. Now do tell me why you are still with Mr. Broody. "
" I-I..." She silenced herself in thought. Why was she still with Fenris? For a moment she was stumped.
" Hawke don't stress. If I've learned anything through my study at the Chantry it's that sometimes there isn't an easy answer. Why don't you tell me what you feel for him? "
" I can't explain it, it's too hard. " She was almost whining because she had so many words to say how she felt, but there was no order in her head. All spasms of feelings combined.
Her head started furiously shaking to try and make out the complex connections she had to Fenris. All of the things she couldn't explain.
Sebastian saw her frustration and didn't want her to suffer anymore. With both of his hands he held her face, centering the madness with his palms holding her balanced. She was staring into his eyes now confused and begging for help. It should be easy to say what she felt. Shouldn't it?
Sebastian saved her yet again with his wise words and calm aura. " It's okay , Hawke. I know."
But she had no idea the chaos inside his own head as he looked into her eyes. " You feel like your world is a better place now. You feel like he is the light amidst all of this darkness. You feel confident to put your life in his hands and afraid that if you do he wont take it. You feel he is your savior, that he brings out the best in you while you feel he is your friend that accepts the worst. He is the only man you've ever been scared to love, and the only man you feel you can't run away from. You look at him..."
Sebastian paused to look at her this whole time substituting the pronouns for her sake. The truth was this was his confession to her. Possibly the last confession he'd ever make in this Chantry, but it had to be done or he'd live in regret the rest of his life. He saw beauty beyond belief. A goodness beyond this world.
" And you see your better half. The only part of you that you want to wake up to. He is your glory, your victory, what you have been fighting for. You see a future in his eyes, your dreams and your destiny. " Sebastian wanted to tell her he loved her but he knew she would only freak out at that. Even if she was leaning into him in agreement with the words and intensity of his feelings. Even if her lips were parting as if ready to agree verbally with him. Maker he wanted to kiss her, but she obviously felt these things for Fenris. It was all over her gorgeous, helpless face.
Still he had to tell her. She had to know, she deserved to know. No more lies and abandonment and deaths, she deserved honesty and love.
He leaned in and gripped her hair a little so her face tilted up and he could see her eyes completely. He got the courage to finish his confession when he heard her breath hitch. She was just as breathless as he was being this close to him.
His next words were barely a whisper. " You see the man you want to be. " At his change of the pronoun he knew it would all click for Hawke. She was the smartest woman he knew on top of everything else which was good because he only let a second pass before he went for it.
Their lips crashed together and he swore he heard her mewl at the ferocity of the kiss. He poured his heart into it. Grasping her hair like his lifeline. Tilting and tipping her face to guide it the same way she guided him everyday as the world's greatest leader. Dare he even believe she was greater than Andraste. Her lips were softer then an angel's surely and her eyes were brighter then the stars before he closed his own and let himself commit this perfect feeling to memory. He moaned as he found her tongue, bringing it out from hiding just for the moment. Trying his hardest to get her to kiss back with everything he had. He only had her for this moment he knew. He didn't want anyone else and if she was the last woman he ever kissed then so be it he'd make it count. He pressed himself into her forgetting their location even as he felt the bench between them. He could care less about vows this was life, and she was the one he truly believed in after all.
His one hand moved down to hold her neck just to feel at least one part of her skin before he was lost to it forever. His other went behind her head to catch more hair. He took her in all at once. Pressing himself against her to let his pent up frustrations leave, holding her face like a piece of art. Something to cherish and appreciate. He didn't stop the kiss until he had her taste memorized and they needed to breathe.
She hadn't kissed back the whole time and he didn't expect her to, she loved Fenris and now he knew and she knew for sure, and he'd never regret letting her know how he felt as well. In a way he had counseled her after all. He pulled away only an inch. His forehead resting on hers dragging out the moment for as long as possible. One look in her eyes and he knew it was time to go. She needed her elf now more than ever and he'd give her the right words to say this time.
Substituting pronouns one last time as he pulled away looking down at his feet as he felt the loss of her already and confessed officially. " You see your love. Tell him. "
Please don't be afraid to tell me how you felt about this. Any suggestions and or comments are welcome. See you all next time.
