"I WIN!" Natsu hollered while standing by a pile of bodies. Mind you, Natsu is not a murderer and these bodies are still living. Well for the most part.
He held his arms up in the air for victory, but quickly his look of pride changed into confusion. "What were we fighting about?" Unlike the others, he had no idea.
Sting looked away from Natsu, a slight blush forming on the blonde's cheeks. Gray pushed himself from the pile. He started cursing at how he even got into this mess in the first place. And Gajeel, who was on the bottom, growled at the two still laying on top of him, "Mind movin' your asses?"
The pink-haired fellow only stood there with the question still on his mind. He stared at Sting, being the most awkward out of the trio, and waited for some kind of answer. Finally, Sting gave in. He started with a long yawn, "We were just..."
It all started as soon as Sting walked through the double doors. Everyone glanced at him, with curiosity in their eyes, but he ignored them and ended up at the bar with Mira. "Where's Natsu-san?" He said, looking around for the Pinky.
Mirajane stared at the boy before answering, "He likes sleeping in, so you can wait here for him and I'll get you a drink. Or, I can give you his address."
He bit his bottom lip and shook his head, "No, it's alright. I better be leaving anyway." He tried not to express his disappointment.
Gray stood in his way. "Why are you here?"
"Just trying to talk to Natsu."
"He's not here. So get the fuck out."
You're the one who stopped me.
Sting tried walking past the annoying prick, but Gajeel decided to join in. "Shouldn't you have a guild to be running?"
"I can't have time for myself?"
"Just leave," the metal-user warned.
Sting stayed there. All he wanted to do was talk to Natsu, yet it looks like Natsu's comrades wanted to put up a fight. Were they his bodyguards? "And why should I listen to you?"
Gray simply said, "Because this is our guild."
"No wonder you don't get any visitors."
"You got room to talk," Gajeel gritted his teeth. "What about the guild who threw out a naked chick in the streets?"
"Coming from the guild who destroyed more than half the country. So much for saving the country when you caused more problems than you fixed. Learn about damage control."
"That was Natsu."
"And that was the old Guild Master."
"Stay away from Natsu if you know what's better for you," Gray interjected. He was not liking where this conversation was heading. Natsu was theirs. Natsu was his.
"Don't get in his business. He's a grown man. He can tell me himself."
Gajeel placed his hand on Sting's shoulder, "I'm also a grown man who knows not to touch someone else's property."
"Property? You're treating him like an object?" Sting knew he was going to have issues with these two when he first arrived. They were always causing issues between him and Natsu. And as Gajeel said, they saw him as their property. Natsu never made a decision. They decided this for Natsu. Just because someone has feelings does not permit them to act like a territorial gerbil.
"Natsu is my friend. I'm just protecting him from creeps," Gray stated. He looked at the other two with daggers in his eyes.
"Oh, you're doing such a good job, Stripper," Gajeel retorted, "I'd rather take action than all talk to my friend."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Sting questioned. He already knew where this was heading. He saw Gajeel's arms moving. And then he was pushed into Gray.
This escalated quickly into a battle against the three mages. Lights, metal, and ice were seen by all in the guild. Then fire got shot into the mix, and the battle area expanded.
In the end, none of them could claim victory. The last one to join in the battle, the fire user, ended up in the winning position.
Sting didn't know if he should finish his sentence. Hell. His whole mind went blank. They were fighting over this very guy, and now he was standing before them.
However, Gray was a fast thinker. He stared at Natsu, "This bastard wanted a rematch. Plain and simple. And you had to ruin our fun."
"You should've fought against me and not those two fools."
"You were nowhere to be found," Gajeel simply stated.
Sting turned his back away with a guilty conscience and avoided Natsu's gaze. "Next time, Natsu. Just me and you."
"I'll still win!" Natsu declared with a childish grin. When he was left behind with the other two losers, he still felt like he was missing the problem. Neither of them looked pleased. Gajeel looked like he wanted to chase after Sting and finish this for all. Even though Gajeel's body was bruised. And Gray was still flared up yet he stayed quiet. He didn't want to say another word to either one of them.
