Part 3 – Bring Me Back to Life

"Miss Granger, is it true that the Savior has dumped you for his for former girlfriend, Ginny Weasley?"

"Is it true that you are now sleeping with young Mister Malfoy?"

"Tell us who dumped who. The public demands to know."

With that Hermione adjusted the sunglasses as stepped into her loft and slammed the door hard behind her, tears started to run down her face as she leaned back against the door and tried to compose herself. Deep breathes, deep breathes. Keep yourself together.

She let out a shaky breathe and balled her fists as she let out two more slow breathes before opening her eyes. It had only been two days since she found out about her friend's betrayal, but since Ginny and Harry had been spotted this morning at a café consoling each other with hugs and more-than-friendly's kisses. Damn them. Just had to make this all even harder. Couldn't wait a week.

Now that I know what I'm without
You can't just leave me
Breathe into me and make me real
Bring me to life

Hermione laid her purse on the small table by the front door and noticed Harry's favorite gloves that were still sitting there this morning where gone. She slowly turned around to notice that all of things that were strictly her former fiancé were missing from the room. His favorite chair, the cage of his owl, the glass container for the first snitch he ever caught, and a dozen other things where gone, leaving the room so empty. With a sigh she walked over to the fireplace and poured bit of firewhiskey, she threw it back into her mouth before she slammed the glass back down on the ledge.

Wake me up, wake me up inside
I can't wake up, wake me up inside
Save me, call my name and save me from the dark

Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the of her newest history book with a black ribbon stuck where she stopped reading last night. Her fingers caressed the silky ribbon as she remember it from her first night all those years ago with Draco, when he had gone through a phase of long hair and she untied that ribbon from his hair as they began to make love. Something about those moments with him had made her feel alive. No, he made her feel special not because she was the smartest witch of her age, not because she was best friends with Ron, and to be married to the savior of the wizard community.

Wake me up, bid my blood to run
I can't wake up before I come undone
Save me, save me from the nothing I've become

She pulled the long ribbon out of the book and her thoughts swirled between the pain of her loose as well as the way Draco made her blood run hot. Yes, passion for the handsome blonde consumed her whenever she thought of him and yet, there was something else there in her mind, her heart for him. But she couldn't tell what it was. Kinda like a ghost that resided within her not solid enough for her to see the detail but strong enough not to be ignored.

Bring me to life
I've been living a lie
There's nothing inside
Bring me to life

She felt so cold inside, numb almost. Hermione gripped the ribbon so hard, her nails began to make her bleed. There now I feel something. With a quick shot of firewhiskey straight from the bottle, Hermione kept that ribbon in her left hand and threw some floo powder in the right into the cold fireplace, "Malfoy Manor."

Without thought, without voice, without soul
Don't let me die here
There must be something more
Bring me to life
