Pink is Back - Chapter 5
"Hey Tom, I got that Pink dino morpher you wante..." Hayley walked in the lab to see that Kim was out cold on the floor. "What in the world did you do this time?"
"I guess that whole me being a ranger was a big surprise for her again," Tommy said, as the other three looked at him in complete shock.
"Wait, I knew that you had originally guessed that she was the Pink Ranger, but how were you so certain?" Kira asked.
"Well, long story short, before I got to the gig last night, I was driving through the park, and I saw a fight break out between Zeltrax and her, so I turned invisible with the gem, so I could get a closer look." Tommy explained as he looked over at Kim. "Then, after Zeltrax had left, Kim demorphed and I saw it was her."
"You know, it's going to be really weird to have another teacher as a ranger," Conner said.
"She doesn't really qualify for you though, since she 'looks' like a student," Ethan quipped, making yet another reference to his unfortunate episode with the currently swooned pink ranger.
"Not funny, dude," Connor replied, while the others tried hard not to laugh.
"Well, I think it's time I woke up sleeping beauty," Tommy said, interrupting the silence. "Hey, Kim... time for you to wake up beautiful..." With that Kim opened her eyes, and lifted her head and saw that she was in Tommy's arms on the ground. She then saw Kira, Conner, and Ethan, and Hayley who she had only met briefly the night before, standing around her and Tommy. She sat up a little to talk, but she could barely get any words out.
"To-Tommy? You're a power ranger again? I feel like I'm back in time all of a sudden, I think I'm going to faint again." Tommy helped her up and sat her in the chair next to the computer, and began pushing some of the buttons on the key pad next to her. "Tommy, what are you doing?"
"Yeah, Dr. O, if you're doing what I think you're doing, I don't think she needs the history lesson that you gave us about the ranger days," Conner said.
"No, she needs a different history lesson, something that I did last night, so I could show her when the time was right what has been really going on in my life since I started work with Anton Mercer," Tommy explained to the group. He then turned to Kimberly. "Look, I did this for you when I found out you were the Pink Ranger, so hopefully this will give you some understanding for some of the questions that you have right now." Kim nodded and looked at the video screen. Within an hour, she saw the explosion of the island, the dino gems and their powers, how Conner, Ethan, and Kira came in contact with the first three gems, and how Tommy became the fourth ranger, as well as a description of Mesogog and his minions, and the evil White Ranger. Kim sat amazed at what she had seen.
"You did this all by yourself?" Kim asked.
"You really are giving your ex way too much credit," Hayley added with a chuckle.
"Unfortunately, Hayley's right. Technology and I don't mix; that's why Hayley helped me with the morphers and the zords." Tommy added. "Hayley is here to show you your new morpher, which will help you control when you morph and make sure your energy doesn't fade like it has been doing in previous battles. We also have a new zord for you, the pink Dilophozord will help assist the dino megazord in battle, by replacing the tricerafist with a mega dilophoblaster, which helps stun enemies in battle." Kim looked up to see a trembling smile on Tommy's face. "Now, do you accept your new responsibilities as the Dino Thunder Pink Ranger?"
Kim looked up to see everyone staring at her. She then gave a huge grin to them all, and looked right into Tommy's eyes. "I accept this duty with all of my heart," Kim stated, and the others all cheered as they now had a new member with them. Hayley walked up to Kim and took out the Pink morpher.
"Hey Kim, why don't we take a walk, this way we can get to know each other and I can tell you how to use your new morpher and zord," Hayley stated.
"Yeah, that would be great," Kim responded, as the two began to walk out of the lab. Suddenly, Kim realized something and ran back down. "Hey Tommy, since I'm working out all this technological crap, can you and the others go down to where I was attacked to get my things?" Tommy just nodded, as he walked out through the tunnels with the three teens.
Kim then joined up with Hayley and they began talking about how to morph, and how to call her zord. She explained that normally her zord would be stored in Tommy's brachiozord, and that her morpher worked pretty easily, and that it would channel the gem's energy easier. When Kim understood this she started to drift into her train of thought, wondering about Tommy. He had danced with her the night before, invited her to stay. 'he even called me Beautiful,' she thought.
"Kim... KIM!" Hayley shouted to finally get her attention. Kim looked over and Hayley showed her a half-smile. "You know, he'll never look at another woman the same as how he looks at you."
"Oh yeah, right, I hurt him so bad, he wouldn't want me after what I put him through, how stupid was I to give him up?" Kim asked. Hayley chuckled at the new pink ranger's comment.
"With that statement, I can prove you two were meant for each other, because you're both equally dense to one another's feelings. Of course he still loves you." Kim went wide-eyed at her statement. Hayley just rolled her eyes again with a grin tugging at her lips. "You have no idea how hard it has been with me being the friend who has to listen to how much he wished that you were back in his life."
"How long has he..."
"Since halfway through his doctorate. Just realize that he is still head over heels for you Kimberly. It might be cheesy to say, but you are the "Hart" he has needed in his life. And from the looks of things, it seems you need him just as much." Hayley looked on as Kim tried to figure out what to say. "Look, obviously you need to take it slow, but you need to bring it up to him. Even though you had that talk last night, he probably still thinks that you only love him as a brother figure."
"Oh... you saw that letter didn't you?" Kim stood embarrassed.
Hayley nodded, with which Kim visibly looked as if she were shrinking into a shell. "Look, it's time to go back to your knight in shining armor, and tell him how you really feel, because if you don't, the two of you will never be happy with just being friends." Kim looked up.
"Maybe you're right... maybe I should talk to him about this." Kim said.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Hayley asked.
"You're right, I'm going to talk to him, right now!" Kim turned to go to where Tommy and the rest of the rangers were going. Before she got too far, she turned around and yelled, "Thank you Hayley!"
"Well, hopefully this will make Tommy happy again," Hayley thought to herself as she walked through the door into Tommy's lab.
*The Woods*
"Oh man, and I thought she had said that she packed light this time around," Tommy said, lugging three pieces of luggage from the wreckage that was her car.
"Geez, you must have paid a ton when you guys went shopping, guess you worked long and hard to support her hobby," Conner stated as he drug another two huge bags.
"You know, we still have to find Trent after this, we should be doing this later," Kira said, with concern in her voice very evident.
"Look, we all need a break Kira," Tommy replied. "I know you care for Trent, but trust me, we'll help him in due time," Tommy explained. "Trust me, I know how difficult it can be to try and track down and save an evil ranger." 'That's because I was one,' he thought to himself.
"Well I saved you the tracking down part because I am hunting you!" The white ranger appeared out of nowhere and startled the four rangers. "So, are you ready to finish this once and for all?"
"You better believe it!" Kim yelled as she ran towards the group and continued the stare down. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to take this guy down!"
"Let's do it guys!" Tommy shouted.
"Dino-Thunder, POWER-UP!" The five morphed into action and faced off with an re-energized White Ranger...
