Me: Well, this is one heck of a chapter. Sorry it took so long, but I wawas somewhat taking a break from the story, then had a writer's block, drawing for my deviantART account. Inside a castle where trees and plants flourished on the outside walls, red banners of an acorn, and guards in the same uniform that Antione wears. Inside the castle was a courtroom with a council of sorts was seated with the crowned squirrel mobian sitting in the top seat. Standing in the center of the courtroom was Sonic of the left, Sally in the right, and Alex in the middle, who was wearing chain shackles on his wrists and ankles as Alex had an annoyed look on his face. (Think of Ichigo Kurosaki's annoyed face)

Chapter 3: Sonic's First Duel, Rebirth of a Legend! Number vs Number!
"Are these things really necessary?" asked Alex as he held his shackled hands up.
"Be silent," ordered one of the council members, a pink pig mobian with blue eyes wearing the same blue and red uniform with a red sash (Hamlin Pig)," you will speak when spoken to."
"Was anyone talking to you piggy, I don't think so," said Alex with a board look on his face as the pig fumed in anger, "so where is my Duel Disk and deck?"
"We confiscated them from you just incase you do anything crashed." answered another council member that was next to the crowned squirrel mobian, a female brown fox mobian with light blue and red hair, wearing a female version of the pig mobian's jacket with a red sash (Rosemary Prower).
"We saw the battle between you and Dr. Eggman, thanks to Nicole." called out a third council member who was next to the fox mobian, an old male blue hedgehog mobian with deep brown eyes, Gray eyebrows and mustache, wearing the same uniform as the pig mobian (Sir Charles Hedgehog), as a screen popped up, showing replays of moves between Alex and Eggman, "I must say, it was quite an interesting battle."
"But, we also seen how destructive the game can be," countered another council member next to the crowned squirrel mobian's left, a female purple platypus with blue eyes wearing the same uniform of fox mobian's jacket (Penolope Platypus),"you're lucky to survive that battle young man."
"Eh, I've had worse." shrugged Alex as he thought to himself, 'But still, what was up with the Rank-Up Spell and Ranked-Up Xyz monster, I've never heard of those types of cards before.'
"S-so what s-should do about this?" asked the fifth council member, a male brown porcupine mobian with blue eyes and wearing the male council jacket and red boots (Dylan Porcupine), who was right between the platypus and pig.
"I say we send this freak to the dungeon and destroy his possession before anything could..." the pig council member was stopped in mid-sentencing to see Alex glaring at him as the human was a few inches away from the pig's face.
"You ever do something like that, I'll make sure you'll never see the light of day ever again." threatened Alex as he held the pig mobian in the air by the jacket collar.
"Let go of me, you freak of nature!" ordered the pig as Sonic and Sally came to Alex's sides, trying to calm him down.
"Whoa, chill Alex!" said Sonic as he and Sally were trying to get Alex to let go of the pig.
"Call down Alex," asked Sally as both her and Sonic finally got Alex to let go of pig mobian, "I know Hamlin deserves to get punch in the face, but not now."
"I may have an idea," said a voice as everyone turned to see the sixth council member, a female yellow Mongoose mobian with blue eyes and purple hair, wearing the female council jacket (Isabella Mongoose), as she had a look of interest, "seeing as this meeting is about Mr. Loredo and the game of Duel Monsters, how about we give Alex a fighting chance."
"What do you have in mind Isabella?" asked the old hedgehog as he raised an old gray eyebrow with interest.
"I propose that Alex Loredo will duel against one of the Freedom Fighters tomorrow at the coliseum." proposed Isabella.
"I object!" yelled Hamlin as his coat was undone, thanks to Alex, "You may be New to the Council of Acorn Mrs. Mongoose, but..."
"Be silent Hamlin!" ordered the Fox mobian as she glared at the pig, then turned her attention back to the mongoose with a kind looks on her face, "Please continue Isabella."
"Thank you Mrs. Prower," thanked the mongoose as she gave the female Fox mobian a warm smile, then turned her attention back towards Alex, "if Alex wins the duel, he'll have his freedom and live in New Mobotropolis, but if the chosen Freedom Fighter wins the duel, then they'll decide Mr. Loredo's fate, do you accept those terms Alex?"
Alex looked at the mongoose for a moment and asked, "What about the cards, I'm the only here with a deck, how will my opponent get Duel Monster cards if they're in another world?"
"That won't be a problem," answered Charles as everyone turned their attention towards the old hedgehog, "You see Alex, two days ago, a mysterious light shined in the coliseum, when the light died down, giant stacks of cards were in the middle of the coliseum, we moved the cards to a storage unit, thanks to Nicole, until we figure out what to do with the cards. So, does that answer your question?"
"Yeah, it does..." answered Alex with confused and surprised look on his face, 'Only one possibility comes to mind, Chaos Control, since I came to this world two days ago as well.'
"That's good, now Mr. Loredo," called Rosemary as the human looked at her, "since you're already introduced to the Freedom Fighters, we'll let you choose your opponent."
"Are you all out of your minds!?" yelled Hamlin as he glared at the Fox mobian, "He'll most likely choose the weakest one of the group to get an easy win!"
"Silence Hamlin!" yelled the crowned squirrel mobian as Hamlin jumped in fright, "One more outburst like that, and I'll have fired and escorted out of this courtroom, do you understand!?" the pig nodded in fear as the royal mobian looked back at Rosemary and said, "You may continue Mrs. Prower."
"Thank you King Elias," thanked Rosemary as she looked back to Alex, "Now Alex, who do you choose to your opponent?"
Alex looked at the fox mobian for a while as he made his decision and said, "All right, I'll accept the challenge and my opponent…" he then pointed towards the speedy hedgehog," Sonic the Hedgehog."
When the young blue hedgehog heard his name, he was surprised to be Alex's chosen opponent and asked, "You want me to be your opponent?"
"Yeah, it would be interesting to see how you'll duel and the type of deck you would create," answered Alex as he gave a smile with his eyes closed, "and besides, Duel Monsters is supposed to be a fun and honorable game."
Sonic looked at the human for a moment and gave a smile back, "All right Alex, I'll accept your challenge, you better expect the unexpected."
"You got it." Alex then held out his hand while his wrist were still shackled and Sonic shook the human's right hand. Sally, King Elias, and Sir Charles smiled at the friendship and respect between the otherworlder and his opponent, but Hamlin sneered at the two and left the courtroom while the platypus mobian and porcupine mobian gave worried looks to the pig mobian.
"All right, tomorrow will be the duel between Alex Loredo and Sonic the Hedgehog over at the New Mobotropolis Coliseum, so you two better be ready until the time comes." said Rosemary as she gave a warm smile to the human and young hedgehog.
"All right," said Sonic as he looked at the old hedgehog, "hey Uncle Chuck, think you can show me where card storage unit is?"
"No problem Sonny boy," answered Charles as he got off of his seat and walked towards Sonic, "I'll show you where it is, after you and your new friend get something to eat."
"But before that happens," interrupted Alex as everyone in the room looked at him, "can I have my cards and Duel Disk back," he then held out his arms to show his wrist were still in shackles, as well as his ankles, "and can someone get these chains off of me, they're starting hurt now?"
(Location Change - New Mobotropolis - Uncle Chuck's Diner)
"Man, good to have my stuff back, and have those shackles off." relieved Alex as he was wearing his blue Duel Disk again, which was in standby mode, his cards in the Deck Box on his belt, and not in shackles. He, Sonic, and Sir Charles who was wearing a brown jacket and boot, as they were walking towards a diner that had a neon sign that said "Uncle Chuck's".
"Yeah, sorry about that Alex my boy," apologized the old hedgehog mobian as he saw some other mobian looked nervous as they saw the human walking inside the diner, "but they were needed to keep everyone safe."
Alex sighed as he saw some adult mobian hiding their children, "Yeah, no thanks to Dr. Eggman..." and entered the diner with the two hedgehogs.
"Don't worry about it;" encouraged Sonic as he and Alex took a seat at two empty stools at the counter, "it'll take time for everyone to like you."
"Sonic's right," said Sir Charles as he walked up to them behind the counter, "so in the meantime, what will you boys want to eat?"
"I'll take a dozen chili dogs with a soda uncle." answered Sonic.
"I'll take a hamburger with cheese and bacon, some fries, and a large soda." answered Alex.
"All right, coming right up." said the old hedgehog mobian as he left to go to the kitchen.
"Man, today has to be the weirdest day." exclaimed Sonic as a female yellow cat mobian waitress gave the boys the drinks they've ordered.
"Yeah," said Alex as he took a sip from his soda, "sometimes life just wants to give you a big kick in the butt, just for laughs."
"Isn't that truth." agreed Sonic as he also took a sip of his drink.
"Here you go boys, your orders." called Sir Charles as he walked up to the two and placed two plates in front of them. A plate of 12 hot dogs with chili on top of them in front of Sonic. The other plate had a hamburger with melted cheese and bacon strips that was between toasted hamburger buns, a bundle of fries was next to the burger in front of Alex. "Eat up boys, you'll need all of the energy for your duel tomorrow."
"Thanks." thanked both Alex and Sonic as they started to eat their food. As they finished their meal, Sonic paid his uncle for the two meals. As soon as Alex, Sonic, and Charles letterhead diner, the old hedgehog gave the human an Extreme Gear (the hoverboard from Sonic Rider games). Alex got on the gear and left New Mobotropolis, to go back to Freedom HQ as Sonic followed his uncle to storage unit.
(Location Change - Freedom HQ)
Arriving at his temporary "home", Alex opened the door to the base to see no one in the living area of the HQ, no even the cyber lynx. "Guess Nicole is over at the city." said Alex to himself as he pocketed his hands in his jacket, but felt something inside the jacket. Alex looked inside to see a pocket with something shining in the light of the room. It was a sealed aluminum pack with a yellow and purple yin-yang symbol on the front.
'I completely forgot about this,' thought Alex as he entered his room, 'this is a booster pack that Maximillion Pegasus the 3rd gave me, he said the pack contains five Monster cards, three Spell cards, and two Trap cards of my Twilight cards.'
Alex then took a seat and opened the pack to reveal ten cards inside, then took the cards out of the pack to see what they are, 'Heh, that guy never cease to amaze me, a Union monster, a Gemini monster, and a few support cards.' He thought to himself as Alex took out his deck, looking through it to find combos with each card. Once done, he took out all of the Xyz Monster cards in his deck, added the new cards, shuffled the cards, and placed the Xyz monsters back on top of the deck, except for one, Number 123: Twilight Paladin Dragon.
"I see you have questions for me," said a voice behind Alex, who turned his head around to see Twilight Paladin Dragon in astral form, standing before him, "I'll try to answer any question you have, my master."
Alex stared at the dragon knight, thinking of some question in his head.
(Location Change - New Mobotropolis - Civic Center - Duel Monster Cards Storage)
After leaving the diner, Sonic followed his uncle to the Civic Center where they stored all of the Duel Monster cards inside. After entering the lower level of the building, only to see some metal doors, so it Charles used a key card to open the doors to reveal mountians of Duel Monster cards.
"Whoa... Is that all of cards from Alex's world?" asked Sonic as he had a surprised look on his face as he stared at the stacks of cards in front of him.
"Yup, different copies of cards, from what we can tell from the front of the cards," answered the old hedgehog mobian as he walked out of the room, "if you need anything Sonny boy, I'll be upstairs." And with that, Sir Charles left the room, leaving the young hedgehog mobian alone with the cards.
"All right, thanks Uncle Chuck," said Sonic as looked back to the card and smiled, "right, time to make a deck."
Looking through the cards for a few minutes, Sonic picked out some cards He would use. 'Alex said that some duelist use 40 to 60 cards for their decks, so I'll use 50,' he thought to himself, 'so I'll need 25 Monster cards and 25 Spell and Trap cards,' while looking through the cards, He found some cards that caught his eyes, "Hello, what do we have here?" he asked as he picked a white boarder card, "Synchro monsters, Tuner monsters, I think I found some cards I could use." He then picked up more white boarded cards with the corresponding cards need for them, "All right, I got 32 cards for the main deck and 10 for the extra deck, so I'll need 18 more cards for the main deck," Sonic counted as he continued to look through the cards until something caught his eyes with interest, "wait, aren't those the cards Alex showed me and the others this morning?" He then picked up the cards and looked at them, "They are, but 4 of the card's artwork are different, but I'll use them." He looked throughout and counted the cards to see 22 cards, 18 for the main deck and 4 for the extra deck, for a grand total of 64 cards, "All right, I finally completed my deck." Sonic left the room to find the old hedgehog mobian, to only find no one. He looked at the clock at the wall, which read 10:50 pm. "It's already that late, better run home." Sonic ran out of the center to get home as the sky was dark with a full moon and stars, but two of the stars were in different colors, one was green while the other was purple. The colored stars shot out of the sky, as the green star was heading towards New Mobotropolis, as the purple star headed somewhere Southeast.

Once the blue hedgehog mobian got back to his house, Sonic noticed the lights were out, 'Must've gone to sleep already.' he thought to himself as he yawned. Sonic entered the house, walked through the living room as he saw a normal yellow dog with brown spots with a red coller that had a dog tag with the name" Muttski". Sonic smiled at the sleeping pet as he walked past it, climbed up the stairs and entered his room. He placed his newly created deck on top of a desk, took off his shoes, and then went to bed. As the speedy hedgehog went to sleep, the green star entered his room, not to wake him up, "looked" around the room as it "saw" Sonic's Duel Monster deck. It floated towards the deck, transformed into a card as it landed on top of the deck. The mysterious card gave a green glow as something glowed in blue from the back of the card.

(Location Change - New Mobotropolis - Coliseum)
It was morning as everyone in the city were entering a large stadium. It was the day that Sonic and Alex dueled to determine the fate of the otherworldler. Mobians were taking their seats inside the stadium. In the middle of the stadium was a platform that had ten rectangles at both ends of the platfroms.
In a locker room was Alex, who was not wearing his gray sweater-jacket and his red shirt was replaced by a black sleeveless shirt, as he was sitting down on a steel bench. He was looking down at the floor, his standby mode Duel Disk on his left arm, and was holding his dueling deck with his right hand. He keep on thinking of strategies on what to play with his cards. He then looked at his cards and placed them inside his deck box, got up and walked towards the doors.
"All right, no turning back now," said Alex to himself as he opened the doors and left the locker room, "it's go time."
In another locker room was Sonic, who was putting on a green Duel Disk he got from Nicole. It was different from Alex's Duel Disk, it had a box-like look and possess more high-tech features. The Deck Zone slot is placed on the side of the wrist while the Graveyard Zone slot is placed on top of the wrist. The Card Zones seem to fold up-right. A single slot is near the Graveyard Zone. It also had a touch screen on top of the disk. Sonic was wearing a gray belt that held a green box on the side. (I don't know if I got the description right, so think of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL Standard Duel Disk.)
-It's almost time for the duel to start Sonic,- called a computerized voice as Nicole appeared in the locker room behind Sonic as the blue hedgehog mobian turned around towards the cyber lynx mobian, "Everything's ready."
"All right." said Sonic as he was walking towards to the locker room doors, but stopped as he turned back to Nicole and asked, "By the way, did you check out that blank card I found in my deck this morning Nicole?"
Earlier this morning, after Sonic woke up and ate his breakfast, he was looking through his newly created duel deck for his first duel with Alex, until he found a blank card at the top of his deck. He was thinking that he added this card by mistake, but called Nicole to check the card out if it's anything similar to the blank card Alex had before it was transformed into a Number card.
"I did, and the card was giving off energy similar to Alex's Number card, but somewhat different." answered Nicole as Sonic pulled the mysterious card out from the green box.
"A card that is somewhat similar to Alex's Paladin Dragon," thought Sonic out load as he gave a toothy grin, "looks like I got a secret weapon to use against Alex for the duel." And with that, the blue hedgehog left the locker room as the cyber lynx disappeared from the room.
Back outside the arena, everyone in New Mobotropolis has a seat to watch the duel. Some of the mobian were excited to see what Duel Monsters was about, while others who saw the duel footage between Alex and Eggman were scared.
Near the stage was the Freedom Fighters, the Council of Acorn, King Elias, a female brown squirrel mobian with green eyes and wavy light brown hair, as her hair parted in the middle and bangs somewhat flared out to reveal a small gold tiara and pearls, wearing a purple long-sleeved regal dress (Megan Acorn) as she was holding a female brown squirrel mobian baby with blue eyes and wearing purple pajamas and a red bow in her hair (Alexis Acorn). Sitting next to the mother was an older male brown squirrel mobian with blue eyes and gray hair, mustache, and eyebrows, wearing a blue uniform with gold equalities and red boots, but he was on a wheelchair as a green blanket covered his legs (Maximillion Acorn). Sitting next to the wheelchair-bound mobian was female brown squirrel mobian who looks like an older version of Sally Acorn, with blue eyes and different hair style, wearing an elegant orange dress and gold tiara (Alicia Acorn). They were all sitting in" front row seat", made by Nicole, near the stage to see the match.
"What is taking those two so long," asked Hamlin as he took a look at his pocket-watch, "they've should've been here and got this stupid game over with already."
"Calm down Hamlin," asked Sir Charles as the pig mobian glared at the old hedgehog mobian, "they'll be here, so just wait."
"But when," argued the pig as he continued to glare at the hedgehog, "I'm guessing that stupid nephew of yours is giving the freak time to escape and join Eggman."
"What was that Hamlin," asked Sir Charles angrily as he rose up from his seat and glared at the former Substitute Freedom Fighter, "Are you saying my nephew, the Hero of Mobius and New Mobotropolis, is..."
"You heard me Charles," argued Hamlin as he got up from his seat and glared back at the old hedgehog mobian, "Sonic has been a rebellious moron even since..."
"That's enough Hamlin!" yelled Elias as he and the other squirrel mobians, except for the baby as she fell asleep, glared at the pig mobian, "Remember what I told you yesterday."
The pig mobian glared at the king as he sat back down and crossed his arms.
Up at the stands, a female magenta cat mobian with red eyes, peach muzzle, and long orange hair with pink bangs, wearing a white silk top, white silk skirt dress with a pink design, a magenta and pink shoulder pad on her left shoulder, silk slip-on shoes, a gold bracelet, and a gold wearing that held a gold emblem with pink jewels (Barian Emblem).
"It seems that a duel is about to begin," she muttered to herself as she stared at the stage, "but I wonder, is one of those two powers I sensed last night reveal themselves in this duel?"
At the other side of coliseum, a male blue gray bat mobian with yellow cat's eyes, navy blue hair, a white muzzle, wearing a violet sleeveless shirt that was under an blue and black vest, red pants that had a" Union Jack" design on the right leg, a black emblem with blue jewels that was held by a brown string around his neck (Barian Emblem), and black and blue shoes. Tha mysterious bat was staring at the stage with a crazed smile, to reveal sharp shark-like teeth.
"Well, Well, it seems the stupid human is dueling again," said the crazed bat mobian as he gained a serious look on his face, "but those two powers I felt last night, they seem familiar to me, but where?"
Back at the stage, Nicole digital appeared on stage as she created a microphone in her hand as every mobian looked at her, "Citizens of New Mobotropolis," she begin, "the Duel Monsters match is about to begin, and both players Life Points will start at 4000 each." Music started to play after Nicole finished the announcement.

Sonic comes out of the stage entrance as everyone cheered for the speedy hedgehog as he gave his signature smile and thumbs up.
"Introducing ffirst, from New Mobotropolis, he is the Hero of Mobius, Sonic the Hedgehog!" introduced Nicole as Sonic walked up to stage and gave everyone thumbs up. The Freedom Fighters were cheering for their friend/leader, King Elias, his family, and the Council of Acorn were clapping their hands for Sonic, except for Hamlin as he glared at the young blue hedgehog. Sonic's music stopped as a new song was played.

Alex walked out of the stage entrance as he was given a mixed reaction from the crowd, half were cheering for him while the other half booed. Alex didn't mind as he sometimes gets this kind of reaction when he's out dueling in the pro leagues.
"And his opponent, "The Twilight King", Alex Loredo!" announced Nicole as the human stepped onto the stage, stood in the middle as he looked around his surroundings to see the crowd either cheering or booing him. The Freedom Fighters cheered for their human friend, King Elias and his family gave intriguing looks to the otherworldly being, and the council was clapping except for Hamlin as he sneered the human.

"All right boys, get your D-Gamers ready," said the cyber lynx as the participants pulled out their eyewear and put them on, "and now activating the A.R. Duel Dome for everyone to watch, and let this duel started!" And with that, Nicole disappeared from the stage.
-A.R. VISION, LINK ESTABLISHED- called a female voice as a different-colored dome formed inside the coliseum as everyone in the audience were amazed at the environment changed around them.
"Get ready Sonic," called out Alex as he gave a smile to his opponent, "you're in whole different ballgame now, good luck."
"You too Alex," said Sonic as he gave his signature grin, "may the best duelist win, now..."
"LET'S DUEL!" yelled both Sonic and Alex as both players drew thethier starting hand.

"Watashi no turn (My turn). Draw!" Alex drew his first card (ALEX: 6). "Twilight Shield Gardna, Shoukan (Summon)." His monster emerged as a large humanoid man clothed in a red robe with blue trim, holding a huge shield that was divided like a yin-yang symbol, but instead of black and white, it was purple and yellow (respectfully).

"600 Attack Points? Weird start, dude." Sonic mused.
"Don't get cocky right out of the gate, buddy." Alex said with a smirk. "Kaado ichi mai settei (I place one card facedown). Turn end!" (ALEX: 4)
"Took you long enough! Ore no turn! Draw!" Sonic drew his card (SONIC: 6) "Speed Warrior, Shoukan!" His monster emerged as a gray-armored humanoid with a face that looked like a gas mask and skates built into its feet. "Speed Warrior no kouka hatsudo! Alex's eyes gleamed. "Twilight Shield Gardna no kouka hatsudo! When it's attacked while in Attack Mode, I can switch it to Defense Mode!" The shield-wielder knelt down and stuck its shield in front of it, causing Speed Warrior's legs to impact it and careen off, being flung back to Sonic's field.

"You think I'd send out something so weak without a plan?" Alex asked, wagging a finger.
"Hey, that's my move!" Sonic shot back with a smile, wagging his finger as well. "Kaado ichi mai settei! Turn end!" (SONIC: 4)

"Watashi no turn. Draw!" Alex drew his card (ALEX: 5). "Twilight Spear Soldier, Shoukan!" This monster was another male decked out in red clothing with blue trim, having long blonde hair, but this one carried a spear with half its point being purple and the other half being yellow.

"Ready for something big? Watashi wa Reberu Yon no Shield Gardna, Spear Soldier, Buster Warrior LV4, Obarei (I Overlay my Level 4 Shield Gardna, Spear Soldier, and Buster warrior LV4)!" All three of Alex's monsters turned a combination of purple and yellow before shooting into the air in a spiral. A red spiral portal opened up, and all three monsters sailed inside. "Hikari to yami de, Obarei Netwaaku kochiku (With light and darkness, I construct the Overlay Network)! Ekushiizu Shoukan (Xyz Summon)!" A torrent of water began to swirl from the portal. "Arawareyo (Show yourself), Twilight Blade Shark!" A monster emerged from the water: A large metallic-looking shark with a red back and gray bottom, its fins and tail all being comprised of blades. Three Overlay Units orbited it: One blue, one yellow, one purple. "Blade Shark also gains 300 Attack Points for each Overlay Unit it has!"

"Oh, man… that's one big fish!" Sonic cried.
"And he's hungry! Twilight Blade Shark, attack Speed Warrior!" A whirring noise was heard from the shark, and it charged forward, revealing rows of razor-sharp oscillating teeth.
Sonic thought quickly. "Trap Card, Dash Dodge, hatsudo!" Speed Warrior quickly dashed out of the way of the incoming attack.
"Nani?" Alex gasped.
"Too slow, Alex! Dash Dodge negates an attack on a Level or Rank 2 monster I control! But the catch is, I gotta take half the Battle Damage I would've taken." Sonic said, holding his arms up in an "I don't know" gesture as a red aura sapped his Life Points.

"I guess there are some brains behind that speed." Alex thought. "Turn end."
"Ore no turn! Draw!" Sonic drew his card (SONIC: 5). "Blue-Eyed Maiden, Shoukan!" His monster emerged as a human woman with long flowing white hair and a tan robe of some sort with white designs resembling a beaked dragon head. Her namesake eyes were bright and striking.

"I've got a bad feeling about that monster." Alex mused.
"Kaado ichi mai settei! Turn end!" Sonic's facedown emerged (SONIC: 3).
"Watashi no turn! Draw!" Alex drew his card (ALEX: 3). "Hmm… should I go for it? Or should I not?"
"You realize you're talking out loud, right?" Sonic called to him.
Alex snapped to reality. "I've gotta stop doing that. Okay, Twilight Blade Shark no kouka hatsudo!" The shark chomped down on one of its Overlay Units.
/TWILIGHT BLADE SHARK/ATK: 3300 - 3000/OU: 3 - 2/
"Once per turn, by detaching one of its Overlay Units, I can destroy one face-up monster on the field with less original Attack Points than Blade Shark's current Attack Points! Goodbye, Speed Warrior! Ship Sinking Slash!" Blade Shark's dorsal fin glowed, then it did a front flip, sending out a sonic blade that cut right through Speed Warrior, obliterating it. "Now, Blade Shark, end this Duel! Attack Blue-Eyed Maiden!" With a gurgling roar, the shark charged toward the woman. However, her eyes began to glow brightly.
Sonic grinned. "Blue-Eyed Maiden no kouka hatsudo!" With a bright flash of her eyes, the maiden blinded Blade Shark and forced it to back off. "When Blue-Eyed Maiden is attacked, I can negate the attack and switch her to Defense Mode!" The light died down, and the maiden knelt down and crossed her arms over her chest, but the white designs on her clothing started glowing. "Then, I can Special Summon a certain monster from my Deck!" Blue-Eyed Maiden let out a yell, releasing powerful white energy from the markings. The energy converged and grew into a larger form, a well-known roar coming from it. "Ideyo! Blue-Eyes… White Dragon!" With a powerful surge, the energy was dispelled, revealing the well-known white-scaled dragon, its blue eyes glowing. It let out another roar.

"So… you have the legendary Blue-Eyes. Did you rip that thing off from a museum when someone wasn't looking?" Alex jeered.
"Was that supposed to be a joke?" Sonic wondered. "'Cause I sure ain't laughing!"
"Oh well, I tried. You're pretty good, Sonic." Alex said. He looked at his hand and frowned. 'Damn. No good cards.' "Turn end!"
"Ore no turn! Draw!" Sonic drew his card (SONIC: 4). "Time to turn the Duel in my favor! Spell Card, Burst Stream of Destruction, hatsudo!" Blue-Eyes White Dragon's mouth began to spark wildly. "Since I've got Blue-Eyes, every single monster you control is destroyed! Wipe that shark out, Blue-Eyes!" With a roar, Blue-Eyes unleashed a powerful wave of electrical energy across Alex's whole field, obliterating Blade Shark.
"Kuso!" Alex cried. Then he remembered something. "Wait a minute. You just forfeited Blue-Eyes's attack for that!"
"Oh, did I? I guess I'll have to improvise, won't I?" Sonic said with his trademark smirk, then he snapped his fingers. "I Tune the Level 8 Blue-Eyes White Dragon with the Level 1 Blue-Eyed Maiden!" The woman's eyes glowed, and then she jumped into the air. Her body then morphed into a single Level Star, which became a Synchro Summon Ring. Blue-Eyes roared and flew through the ring, becoming a green outline of itself with eight Level Stars within. The Level Stars lined up, and a green light shot through them. "Shinkuro Shoukan!" A beacon of silver light descended from above, and a roar that sounded oddly familiar to Blue-Eyes was heard, but it sounded different… more popular. "Behold, the new member of Blue-Eyes's legacy! Arawareyo… Sōgan no Ginryū (Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon)!" From the beacon, a new figure emerged: A dragon that looked very similar to Blue-Eyes, but its bluish-white color scheme was now a pure shiny silver, the scales hard as armor. Its eyes were a lighter blue than normal, but these eyes still exuded power. With another roar, the dragon extended its wings and stood imposingly.

"Okay… now I'm impressed." Alex mused.
"Good to hear! Time to be even more impressed! Sōgan no Ginryū, attack Alex directly! Silver Burst Stream!" The silver dragon gathered powerful energy into its mouth, before letting a roar and firing an intense burst of silver lightning as a laser beam, shooting straight towards Alex and blasting the ground near him.
"Uwaaaaaaaaahhhh!" He yelled as he was flung back, landing on the ground.

"Hah hah, yeah! What did ya think of that?" Sonic called. "You're tough, Alex, but I don't intend to lose just yet! Turn end!" (SONIC: 2)
Alex slowly got to his feet, chuckling. "Nice move, Sonic… but you may not have a choice when it comes to losing. Watashi no turn! Draw!" He drew his card (ALEX: 4). "Since you have a monster and I don't, Twilight Steam Golem, Shoukan!" This monster was a gold-colored machine of some sort, with a smokestack, a sword for one arm, and a shield on the end of the other. It knelt down and placed its shield in front. "But in doing so, my Golem's ATK and DEF are cut in halve." Steam was released from the monster's smoketack.

"Ore no turn! Draw!" Sonic drew his card (SONIC: 3). "Sōgan no Ginryū no kouka hatsudo!" The silver dragon's wings glowed brightly. "Once per turn during my Standby Phase, I can Special Summon a Normal Monster from my Graveyard! Return to us, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" The glowing wings let out a field of light that struck the ground, and from the illuminated spot, the original white dragon rose, letting out its roar.

"Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack Twilight Steam Golem! Burst Stream of Destruction!" With a roar, Blue-Eyes reared its head back and fired a powerful burst of lightning at the machine.
However, Alex just smirked. "Trap Card, Twilight Raigeki, hatsudo! Since you attacked a face-up Twilight monster, all monsters on the field except Twilight monsters are instantly destroyed!" A yin-yang barrier appeared over Golem, blocking the lightning, but the lightning was turned purple and yellow and was immediately shot right back toward its owner. The purple lightning struck and destroyed Blue-Eyes while the yellow lightning struck and destroyed Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon.
"No way!" Sonic cried.
"You're not the only one with options, Sonic." Alex said.
"Darn! Monsuta settei! Turn end!" Sonic placed a facedown monster. (SONIC: 2)

"Watashi no turn! Draw!" Alex drew his card and smirked (ALEX: 4). "Great. Kuritwilight no kouka hatsudo!" The image of a golden Kuriboh with an angel wing, a bat wing, and a halo appeared. "By banishing Kuritwilight from my hand, I take no damage this turn." The image vanished. "However, by sending Twilight Star Magician from my hand to the Graveyard, I can return Kuritwilight to my hand." The cards were moved. "Kuritwilight, Shoukan!" The very same monster returned.

Buster Warrior pointed its sword upward, dissolving into yellow and purple energy that re-combined into a new form. "Ideyo, Twilight Star Magician!" This Twilight monster was female, having long brown hair, her midriff bore with her clothing, a mask over her eyes, and holding a blue staff with a star on it.

"Twilight Star Magician no kouka hatsudo! Once per turn, I can change any Twilight monster's Level to anywhere between 1 and 8! I change Kuritwilight's Level to 6!" Magician pointed her staff at Kuritwilight, causing a red star to appear over it. The red star then became six stars: Two red, two blue, two green.

Alex let out a breath. "This move was worth the rest of my hand! Let me show you my little friend, Sonic!" He thrust out a hand. "Watashi wa, Reberu Roku no Twilight Steam Golem, Twilight Star Magician, Kuritwilight, Obarei!" All three of his monsters turned a mixture of solid yellow and solid purple before shooting into the air in a spiral. This time, a galaxy portal opened up, and all three monsters sailed inside. "Hikari to yami de, Obarei Netwaaku kochiku! Ekushiizu Shoukan!" A burst of light occurred. "Ima kouri… Nanbāzu Hyaku Nijūsan (Number 123)!"

The monster's sealed form emerged as some type of prism, colored red, gold, blue, and white, with two small black wings on the top point. The prism's sides opened up and began shifting, taking a new form. From the bottom, red and gray armor formed over blue legs with gray leg adornments, the legs having clawed feet. "The dragonic knight of twilight, protect us with your might!" Two muscled blue arms with red armor and black hands emerged, the right arm being equipped with some type of green tonfa-like laser blade. "Through their combination shall true power be known!" The chest armor formed, having a large golden "V" on the chest and a slot in it, revealing two odd devices that made the chest look like it had eyes. The two small wings on the top had grown to a large size, almost as tall as the monster itself. "TWILIGHT…PALADIN…DRAGON!" Finally, the head formed, having four spikes in the back of its head and black eyes, its armor being red and blue. With two swipes of its sword, the monster took a stance with three Overlay Units (two yellow, one purple) orbiting it.

"All right, I finally get to face this big guy!" Sonic said with excitement.
"You'd better be ready. The power that mopped the floor with Egg-Butt is coming your way!" Alex jeered. "Twilight Paladin Dragon, attack Sonic's facedown monster! Paladin Saber!" Channeling its energy into its saber, Paladin shot forward, lancing the facedown (which turned out to be Kaibaman) and destroying it.
"Jeez! Eggman was right to be afraid of that thing!" Sonic cried.
"Let's see if you've got what it takes to beat me, Sonic. Turn end!" Alex said. (ALEX: 1)

"Ore no turn! Draw!" Sonic drew his card (SONIC: 3). 'Not much here I can use. I've got Call of the Haunted facedown, but I don't have much in my Grave to use. Blustering Winds is useless, too, with my monsters' power levels. And I can't use any targeting effects against Paladin. I remember that effect. Looks like I'll have to play defensively until I can get something good!' "Monsuta settei! Turn end!" Another facedown monster emerged. (SONIC: 2)
"Watashi no turn! Draw!" Alex drew his card (ALEX: 2). "Just the card I needed to wipe your strategy out, Sonic. Spell Card, Stop Defense, hatsudo! Your little friend is going into Attack Mode!" A beam of green energy shot from the card, striking Sonic's facedown and revealing it to be a blue-skinned humanoid of some sort, having shiny armor, two metallic wings, and rings around it, only eyes visible as a face.

"Oh, so that's it, huh? That little guy'll buy you one turn, but that's it! Twilight Paladin Dragon, attack! Paladin Saber!" The powerful dragon shot forward and stabbed Tenshin right through the chest with its saber, pulling it out before Tenshin exploded.
"Whoa-oa-oa-oa-oa!" Sonic yelled as he was flung back in a backflip, landing on the ground.

"So tell me, Sonic, who's more deserving of the finger wag?" Alex jeered, wagging his finger.
Sonic merely smirked back at him. "Heh heh… it ain't over yet, buddy!" He leapt back to his feet with his spin jump.
"Heh. Glad to see I didn't stab your spirit!" Alex said. "Show me whatcha got! Turn end!"

"Ore no turn… Draw!" Sonic drew his card (SONIC: 3). A huge grin appeared on his face. "I just got what I needed to knock you out, Alex!"
"Oh?" Alex wondered.
"Check it! Spell Card, Silver Medal, hatsudo! By sending a card in my hand to Graveyard, I can Special Summon a Level 2 monster from my Deck!" The card he sent was Drill Synchron. "Hero Kid, Shoukan!" His monster emerged as a young boy decked out in red and white armor with a black bodysuit. His head was encased in a glass dome, and he wore a yellow bandana mask over his eyes. "Hero Kid no kouka hatsudo! When he's Special Summoned, I can Special Summon the other two Hero Kids that are still in my Deck!" Two more of the boy hero emerged, making triplets.

Sonic smirked. "Now, Alex… it's my turn!" He pulled out a card from his Extra Deck… a blank card.
Alex's eyes went wide. "That's a-!"
"Yep!" Sonic said, the blank card changing to reveal its image. "And it's just the card I need! Ore wa Reberu Ni no Tenshin to, Hero Kid san tai de, OBAREI!" All four of his monsters turned fully orange (Hero Kids) and yellow (Tenshin) before shooting into the air in a spiral. A galaxy portal opened up, and all four monsters sailed inside. "Yon tai no monsuta de, Obarei Netwaaku kochiku (With these four monsters, I construct the Overlay Network)! Ekushiizu Shoukan!" A burst of light occurred. "Arawareyo! Nanbāzu Yonjūhachi (Number 48)!"

A cage with the spaces covered rose into the area. All of a sudden, something began banging on the cage from the inside, causing it to rattle and jump around. Then, one of the sides (bars and all) was shattered as a green blur shot out. The blur zipped around, dashing off various parts of the park: trees, benches, etc., not staying still for a moment. "Blink once and he'll be gone from sight! He's got the need, the need for speed! Godspeed... Mirage!" The blur was racing along the ground as Spade called out the monster's name. As it reached Spade's field, the monster suddenly slowed down to a screeching halt, stopping in the Zone right in front of Spade. Its back was to the others, allowing the blue 48 to be seen on its back. The monster appeared to be a human male decked out in a blue jumpsuit along with sleek armor of varying shades of green, as if he was some kind of superhero. The helmet was streamlined to look like hair pointed back, with similar points on the cuffs of the gloves. No. 48 whipped his head to look behind himself, showing a light blue visor over his eyes. He smirked before turning fully around, performing a small series of absurdly fast punches and kicks on the air, then striking a badass hero pose, being orbited by four green Overlay Units.

"Numbers… you have one too!" Alex cried.
"And it's about to hit home! Spell Card, Blustering Winds, hatsudo!" Odd wind began to swirl, filling Godspeed Mirage with power. "Until my Standby Phase, Godspeed Mirage gains 1000 Attack and Defense Points!"
/NUMBER 48: GODSPEED MIRAGE/ATK: 2700 -3700/DEF: 300 - 1300/
"3700 Attack Points?!" Alex cried.
"Say good night, Mr. Twilight! Godspeed Mirage, attack Twilight Paladin Dragon! Demolition Dasher!" All of a sudden, Mirage leapt into the air and began zipping like mad around the area. Then, out of nowhere, Paladin Dragon was stomped down to the ground by Mirage's kick, his foot going straight through the armor. Paladin Dragon let out a roar of pain and defeat before exploding.
"Bakana (Impossible)!" Alex cried.

"But I'm not done! Godspeed Mirage no kouka hatsudo! By removing an Overlay Unit from him, Mirage can attack again for half the Battle Damage, which is still enough to take you out! Nail Alex directly, Godspeed!" Godspeed Mirage absorbed one of its Overlay Units through a spin kick, then darted right towards Alex in a zigzag. All of a sudden, he quickly maneuvered behind Alex and clotheslined him, sending him flying.
"Uwaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!" He yelled, landing on the ground.

"Here is your winner, Sonic the hedgehog!" announced Nicole as the crowd cheered from their hero for winning the duel. Sonic looked around as he smiled that he won his first duel. Alex sat up, looking disappointed that he didn't won the duel, but was glad that his friend won the duel. Alex then got up and walked up towards the speedy hedgehog, who turned around and saw the human. Everyone in the coliseum quieted down as the human stopped in front of Sonic, and then Alex held out his hand, wanting to shake the hedgehog mobian's hand. Sonic looked at it for while, and shakes it.
"Nice game," complimented Alex as he let go of Sonic's hand, "for being your first time into the game and winning your first duel, congratulations!"
Everything was quiet in the coliseum until the sound of clapping was heard. Everyone turned to see where the noise was coming from, to only see Sally Acorn, who was standing up from her seat clapping for the two. Then one by one, the Freedom Fighter, King Elias and his family, the Council of Acorn (except for Hamlin Pig), and then the audience were clapping and cheering for both Sonic and Alex, who was smiling.
All of a sudden, a group of ten soldiers came out of the stage entrance and surrounded the duel stage, cconfusing everyone, including both Alex and Sonic, on what's going on. Hamlin, who rose from his seat, gave an arrogant smirk, walked towards the duel stage and said, "Men, arrest the human, and confiscate his cards and device." The soldiers slid onto the stage and tackled Alex, who was fighting back but was overpowered, was handcuffed again as one of the soldiers gave the pig mobian the Duel Disk and deck.
Sonic, who was confused and was starting to get mad, asked, "Hamlin, what the heck do you think you're doing, I didn't make my decision on what would happen to Alex if I won the duel?!"
"Sorry Mr. Hedgehog, but I'm 'making' your choice, and Mr. Loredo is going to the dungeon!" answered Hamlin as the crowd started to negative reaction to the arrogant pig mobian. Sonic curled his right hand into a fist, ready to punch Hamlin's light out.
"Hamlin, that is enough!" ordered Elias as got up to the stage and walked next to Sonic, glaring at the council member and the soldiers who were holding Alex down, "What do you think you're doing?!"
"Oh sorry, your majesty," replied Hamlin sarcastically as he had a smug look on his face, "I'm just correcting a mistake you've made when this freak showed up."
"And what mistake would that be Hamlin?" asked the king when he saw the soldiers leaving Alex alone and not in handcuffs as a male brown fox mobian with a blue right eye and an eye patch on his left, wearing the same blue and gold uniform as Antoine and red boots, ordering the soldiers to leave the coliseum and fired (Amadeus Prower)
"Having freaks like the overlanders and Sonic having this stupid contest and giving the hedgehog a choice of freedom or imprisonment," answered the enraged pig mobian, who didn't know that Alex was right behind him, "and now, if you'll excuse me, I'll need to see the prisoner to his holding cell and destroy these accursed cards." As Hamlin turned around to only Alex without his handcuffs and no soldiers around him.
"You were saying, piggy?" asked Alex as he took back his dueling deck and Duel Disk from Hamlin, who tried to run away, but was stopped by Sonic and King Elias, as the Freedom Fighters, the Council of Acorn, and the Royal Acorn family surrounded the stage, giving Hamlin no chance of escaping.
Hamlin started to back away from the stage edges with his back turned, only to be stopped by Alex, as the pig mobian turned around to see the human was glaring at him. Alex then grabbed Hamlin by throat, picked him up to the air, and then slammed him hard to the stage, knocking the pig mobian out.
Sonic and King Elias walked towards the unconscious mobian. Sonic then picked up a microphone that Nicole made and said, "Hamlin, I already made my decision, and I say Alex gets his freedom and also become a full-fledged member of the Freedom Fighters!" Everyone cheered for Sonic's choice, as the otherworlder had a surprised look on his face. Sonic then gave Elias the microphone.
"Hamlin, you've been scheming behind mine, the council's, and the Freedom Fighter's backs on getting rid of Nicole, removing Sonic from being the leader of the Freedom Fighters, and trying to make me and my family look like fools in front of everyone in this kingdom," yelled Elias as Hamlin woke up after being slammed to the ground, begging the king for forgiveness, "so it is with deep regret to say this, but... You are officially removed from the Council of Acorn."
Hamlin was quiet as he had a vacant look on his face as the crowd was silent. A pair of Royal Army soldiers came up to the stage, arrested and took the pig away. As soon as the broken pig mobian and the soldiers left, the crowned squirrel mobian looked at Alex and said, "Mr. Loredo, I humbly apologize for what happen to you yesterday, you were under stress since the meeting, Hamlin harassing you, and everything that happen to you..."
Alex interrupted, "Just stop your majesty, I know what you're saying, and I don't blame you, Sonic, or anyone else, it could've happen to anyone after being sent to an unknown world."
"I see," nodded Elias as he gave a smile to the human, "well then, let me be the first to officially welcome you to New Mobotropolis!" Everyone cheered as King Elias shook Alex's hand.
Up at the stands, the mysterious bat mobian sneered at the crowd in the duel stage, more specifically, at Alex. "I was hoping in taking your Number card while you're in prison, but I guess I was wrong," then looked at Sonic, "and now the hedgehog has a Number card, a Number from Astral World, which means," now gaining an insane smile on his face, "I'll have more power if I were to take the hedgehog's Number card as well." Then the crazed bat mobian left the arena, plotting on what to do next.
At the other side of the coliseum, the mysterious cat mobian left the stands quietly, 'It seems a new Number card has revealed itself, a Number from Astral World, in the hands of the speedster no doubt,' she then stopped mid-way in the hallway, 'which means the other unknown energy is a Number from Astral World as well.' A portal was created in front of the cat mobian, "Looks like I have to test the speedster and whoever holds the other Number." Then disappeared in a flash of light into the portal before anyone sees her.
