*Where we left off in the guild*
Gray walked up to the distraught older man. "Cana went outside. She left like fifteen minutes ago. You didn't notice?"
"But she was trying to grab Lucy!"
"Then she went out!"
Gildarts endearingly ran over to the front doors and peeked out. No one was there, but there was two sets of footprints in the snow. "Hey, was someone else out here?"
"I think Laxus was." Gray answered. Gildarts glanced at Gray, then outside, and then back at Gray. "My daughter left with that Bastard! Why would he leave with her?…" His face became red with anger and his pupils dilate as he stared into the open space that lay in front of him.
Bixlow and Freed overheard that Laxus and Cana were gone. "It's probably not what you think." Freed quickly said.
"Yeah! They just left to play tag or something." Bixlow added on.
Everyone present glanced at Bixlow. "I doubt they are playing tag. I'm going to go look for Cana, and Laxus better not be with her!" Gildarts said marching out the entrance.
Chapter 3
*In town*
Cana was still prancing around and running from Laxus for no good reason. Well, it did feel nice to run with Laxus's giant overcoat on. Other then that it was just to see if she could piss him off. "What are we doing?!" Laxus questioned. They had been running for seven blocks now. Laxus wasn't tired. He just wanted to know where Cana was going with his damn coat.
"You care too much about her. Letting her wear our special coat! What the fuck man?!" Laxus said internally.
"Shaddup!" The young man whispered to himself.
"What was that Dreyar?!" Cana asked, over hearing Laxus's whisper. She looked back at Laxus yet continued running forward.
"Nothing, I was talking to mys- Cana!"
The woman wasn't paying any attention to where she was going! Suddenly she tripped over the curb."AH!" Cana shouted as she fell to the snow covered ground.
"Are you okay?!" Laxus worried. Cana was quite surprised. Did he care about her or something?
"Are you asking me or the coat?" Cana asked. Laxus offered her a hand up.
"I was asking you, but now that you mention it, did something happen to my coat?"
"No, just wondering." Cana took Laxus' hand and was lifted up. She brushed off the snow and began to run again.
Laxus threw his hands up with a "what the fuck?". He honestly didn't know how Cana kept going. Suddenly she stopped and waved Laxus over.
"This is it! Come on slow poke!"
Without a moment's passing, Laxus was at her side.
"How did you-?"
"I can teleport through metal without being seen. It's not that difficult. Electrical curtains and all that stuff." Laxus looked at the building at the building next to them. It was a small café that looked to be the bottom of an apartment. "What's special about this place?" He asked.
"A friend of mine works here and she asks about you a lot."
"You brought me here because of a fangirl?"
"Well, yeah but, they have free refills on coffee. I don't want to pay for you and me with multiple cups."
"Wow, you're so classy." Laxus laughed sarcastically.
"Whatever. Come on sparky." Cana opened the door.
"Hey, I'm not a lover of that name."
"Your grandfather calls you piss head sometimes, would you rather me refer to you as that?"
"Sure." Laxus confirmed. "and it doesn't surprise me that he calls me that." The young man sighed. "Puff boy is another nickname I have that I fucking hate. You want to use that one too?"
Cana smiled and laughed as she walked into the café, accidently laughing to hard, she snorted. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth. Laxus of course heard this and had to comment.
"I had suspicions that you might be part pig because of the way you eat. That snort just confirmed it."
Cana blushed "That's very rude of you to say that piss head." she handed Laxus his coat back without making eye contact.
"Are you abandoning me piggy?"
"No, it gets hot in here. Pick a booth to sit in." Cana commanded. She was really embarrassed and kind of regretted giving him a nick-name. Laxus sat at a table, his rebellious side was creeping out."I said a booth!" Cana sat in the closed in, comfy seated booth closest to Laxus.
"I know." Laxus smiled. "I'm having an interesting time with you. We seem to both have some breed of a rude sarcasm."
"I've been with you for, what, fifteen minutes, but... I guess it's good to hear that." Cana had a feeling Laxus might be consciously loosening up with her.
A waitress hollered from across the room. "I'll be with you and your friend in a minute Cana!"
"Is that the person you were talking about?" Laxus asked. She was about average height with blue hair that was striped with pink highlights. Her generic orange waitress outfit stood out as much as her makeup.
"Nina, she's really nice and I grew up with her. She claims to be your number one fan."
"She obviously hasn't met Freed."
Cana leaned to towards her comrade. "Freed follows you around and worries a lot for no real reason, but he gives you space. Nina is a total Yandere. Not the 'I'll kill every girl to make you mine' but something along those lines. She would still kill a bitch, however it would have to be with reason and it would take her a lot of obsessive planning." Laxus seemed a little freaked out by the young woman's description. "Don't worry too much about it. She is a really nice person. Now that I'm thinking about it... Never mind Dreyar."
The woman identified as Nina heard Cana say a glorious last name "Dreyar?!" She gasped and looked again at who Cana was sitting near. Her heart stopped as she noticed a fur and leather coat along with a buff man whom had blond spiked hair.
Laxus could feel her eyes staring at him. "She noticed me, didn't she?" He whispered to Cana.
There was a shriek of excitement "OH CANA! YOU BROUGHT SENPAI! AHHHHH!"
"No puff boy, no." Cana whispered sarcastically back to her very flustered guild mate.
*At the guild*
Freed abruptly stood up from his seat. "My Laxus senses are going off! It's... It's... Fangirls!" Sparks were channeling between his hair antennas. "I must save him!" Freed started to run but was shortly tackled by Bixlow.
"NO! Let him get laid!" Bixlow exclaimed, doing his best to restrain him.
Freed started to crawl his way to the door. "I can't... let him... get an STD!"
"We have to trust him to use protection! He's been using a blowup doll for fuck's sake!"
Freed stopped crawling and collapsed to the floor. He began to cry. "I just *sniff* want Laxus to stay safe..."
"I know buddy, I know. We have to let him grow up and make his mistakes." Bixlow said, patting Freed's hair. He rolled off Freed at started to think about Laxus' mistakes "Although the last time I said that Laxus tried to take over the guild and murder everyone… He's with Cana, I'm sure she'll kick his ass if it's necessary. Maybe… Wait! Where are my babies?!" the unusual man thought to himself.
*at the cafe*
Laxus leaned over towards Cana. "Is this your idea of a cruel joke?"
"No, it's called I didn't get Nina a Christmas present."
"I swear to god, if she-"
"AHHH! OMG OMG OMG!" Nina was running over to the two. Laxus didn't know how she was going to, um, approach him so he braced himself for the worst.
"You're internally screaming, aren't you?" Cana asked quickly before Nina got to him. Laxus' knuckles were pressing hard against the skin that covered them, but somehow he kept his natural stoic appearance.
The brunette instantly turned to her running friend with a panicked stare.
The waitress came to a halt as soon as the look appeared on Cana's face. "Oh right, he doesn't like hugs..?" Nina blankly gazed at the floor like she had done something terrible. Tears began to form in the corners of her eyes.
Laxus was relieved that she wasn't going to tackle hug him, but felt guilty he made her cry.
"Nina..?" Cana worried about what was going on in the young woman's head.
Laxus glanced, grumping to Cana."My presence is a gift, correct?" Cana nodded. Laxus took a deep breath and proceeded to stand up. Nina gazed up to him and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Merry Christmas, Nina." He said, holding his arms out and steadily leaning in closer.
No hesitation could hold Nina from a Sempai hug! Laxus could feel her body shaking with excitement as he gently held her.
Cana mouthed out "Thank you!" when Laxus looked back to her. He smiled awkwardly in response.
A familiar voice rang in Laxus's ears"This may not be so ba-"
Quickly, Laxus gently pushed Nina away and checked his coat for the musical relief he needed to have this voice go away.
"You okay?" Cana asked. "Did you forget something?"
"I'm fine. If you don't mind I'm going to be outside for a minute." His expression was calm and collected, but his pupils were puny.
"No, not at all. Take your coat." Cana said. She faked a kind smile. "There is no way he's okay" The woman thought to herself. "but it's probably best to let him keep his dignity then to make a scene about it..."
