Happy New Year! Wrote this because I noticed a dip in fics, probably because we didn't have an episode last weekend ( which is still pissing me off by the way )
Happy New Year, Nibbles!
2015 had been quite the eventful year. In fact, the past two years had been. Cal couldn't even fathom the words to describe how undoubtfully happy he was, right here, right now.
Although the presure of telling Ethan the truth continued to weigh down on him and the guilt persistently tore at his insides, Cal still had his baby brother. Ethan had always meant a great deal to Cal and held a special place in his big brother's heart.
Cal sometimes even forgot why he had left home so early in life, leaving precious and trusting Ethan behind. Cal had missed his brother deeply from the moment he got on the train to head away from his home town and had managed to break his own heart by vowing to never go back.
Being with Ethan again and building bridges with him had ignited Cal's will to go ahead and persue a relatively normal life and career.
So, as the countdown to 2016 began in the pub, instead of finding a random girl to kiss – whose name and appearance would never be remembered by the young doctor – he made his way over to his brother. Cal grinned as he swung an arm around his brother's broad-ish shoulders and almost made Ethan choke on his drink. Ethan managed to swallow without hurting himself and shot an annoyed glance at his older sibling, it melted, however, when he registered the pure joy on Caleb's features. Cal grinned back and started the countdown with everyone else, feeling the vibration beside him as his brother shouted too.
"3…2…1!"
A whirlwind of cheers whips around the now buzzing pub as people share romantic and cheeky kisses with their loved ones and colleagues. Feeling the atmosphere around him as he presses a kiss to his brother's bright red cheek – Cal knows 2016 is going to be a good year.
Hope you enjoyed! Also, just wanted to ask, I'm currently re-writing my story 'Girlfriend or Brother?' and I'm not sure exactly how it should play out, any suggestions? Leave 'em in the reviews or PM me if you do. Again, Happy New Year!
