Chapter 8: Coming Together
The night, dark and mysterious yet so calm and cool with just the gentle breeze of wind to make the sound, but be careful staying in the darkness of the night can swallow you up. Upon this dark night one thing shone to bring a glisten to the shadows that roamed and a certain silhouette seemed to approach in it. The moon shining down glistened off the silhouette of a woman standing in perfection as calm as the night. Long dark midnight blue swung opposite if her hips as she walked, a certain strut about this woman gave off the essence of confidence.
Her bangs shaped the heart shaped and contrasted with her porcelain skin. Bright blue hues shone through the knight as if diamonds themselves resided in them, surrounded by long eye lashes a petite nose and plump pink lips to match her ever pink cheeks. Upon her ears small gold hoops to match the black choker that held a similar gold hoop.
The woman's attire was that of a warrior but not a conservative one either how would anyone be able to cover those giant jugs she carried on her chest. She wore a black free flowing dress with medium length sleeves a deep v-neck only being held together by the pink wrapped around cloth acting like a belt. Over the dress she wore a sleeveless deep purple coat. Resting on her right round hip a katana beautiful with a bright orange hilt with three matching gold orbs at the tip. Her hands small and dainty but no doubt have shed the blood of many were dressed in pink fingerless gloves, the right wrist wearing a bracelet. This beautiful woman had small feet for a warrior she wore clean white socks with sandals. This woman never to be messed with for as calm and beautiful she looked lurking underneath the pretty shore was a force never to be wrecked with.
She was walking seemingly never-ending white desert, with a multitude of dunes, littered with boulders. The vast desert seems to lack any bodies of water and contains rocky formations. She walked into a massive fortress which can be seen for miles. It consisted of a main building with a domed center surrounded by several large towers and smaller buildings, Atop the dome are five smaller towers. She was at peace as she walked down the silent halls, her hair swaying back and forth.
"So you finally made it Sindra."
The long haired woman now known as Sindra turned her head to the left to see Zira walking out of a room. "Zira it's you." She spoke softly. Zira smiled at her "Glad to see you're doing well." She said. Sindra smiled back "I can see you're also doing well. How did the mission in Valkinheim go?" She asked.
Zira began to walk with Sindra as they made their way down the hall. She sighed and flipped her hair as she looked at the ceiling "That damn idiot screwed it up." She growled. Sindra raised her eyebrow "Idiot?" She asked.
"Sir give me another, I swear I'll take them all down next time. Those vermin can't touch me!"
Zira was about to answer until both herself in Sindra heard a voice coming from the room they were walking too. When they made it to the room they saw Sayer and twelve other people sitting around a long table. There were six people on the left side of the table and 6 on the right and one at the top.
Sayer who was standing up from his seat was sitting on the left side of the table on the last seat down. Zira shook her head and closed her eyes in frustration which pretty much gave Sindra an idea on who she was talking about.
Zira looked at him and folded her arms "Some times you can be so immature." She said with a voice filled with disgust. His blood red eyes glared at her as he turned his head "Don't start with me Zira, I'm not in the mood" He said.
Zira gave him a cold stare "Is that suppose to scare me? Because I'm not least bit scared. You act like such a child because one mission didn't go your way." She replied. It was obvious that Sayer and Zira did not like each other. Everyday it was the same thing with the two.
"You got a big mouth Zira, and seeing as you're not using it for anything useful, how about I shut it for you personally." He growled as he grabbed his sword which was strapped to his back. He quickly ran towards her preparing to chop off her head but as he swung Sindra quickly reached for her blade and with a swift movement, unsheathed it and blocked Sayer's huge sword.
"You'll stop right there Sayer. You will not strike a comrade." Sindra said as her usual calm expression turned into a serious one. "I don't care how strong you think you are, I will not sit by and let you attack Zira, is that understood? Because if it's not, then you'll have to deal with me." She said in a cold and icy tone.
Sayer looked into her eyes, he could see she was not playing around. He knew not to let her pretty face fool him, he knew all to well how strong Sindra was. Sayer took a step back and sheathed his sword, not taking his eyes off Sindra who sheathed her sword as well.
"Geez, all that commotion and in the end you find yourself backing down to Sindra."
Sayer turned his head to the right side of the table where a young man was sitting in the third seat. He had light blue hair that hung down to his neck, and a few strands of hair that hung down to his chest. He had light green eyes and pale colored skin. He wore a black coat with blue linings. Under the coat he had his torso bandaged and wore black pants with blue linings along with black shoes. The man looked to be 4,4 1/2 with a slim body.
"Jin, stay out of this." Sindra scolded like a mother would. "But it's true, he storms in here and demands to be sent back to Valkinheim, because the base was destroyed, which was his fault I might add." Jin said with a smirk on his face. He leaned back in his chair without a care in the world and this angered Sayer.
"You better listen to her squirt. Before you get a spanking." He threatened with a grin on his face. Jin laughed "And just who will be doing the spanking, you? I don't think so." Jin mocked.
While the two were arguing the other people that were present were shaking their heads. Sitting next to Jin was Zane, a man with Dark purple hair like a matted mess attempted to be tamed in a low pony tail, whilst loose bangs framed the sharp faced young warrior. Dark rimmed eyes held the bright purple eyes, down to a sharp nose and jagged teeth. This young man was dressed in a sleeveless loose turtle neck that was a darker magenta accented with gold buttons. His arms large and toned with an arm band black as if squeezing his bicep tight. His wrists cuffed with gold metal that matched the buttons and the tops of his hand a purple symbol. On his waist wrapped a purple hakama with a black belt, pants underneath dark grey being stopped above his calf with gold cuffs the same pattern of the ones on his wrists. Black boots with a golden rim and button.
Next to Zane was Rave, he had Jet black hair rustled in the wind as a pearly toothy grin shone through tan skin bright blue hues cut through dark flames. This tall dark and handsome figure wore a white sleeveless hoodie and a blue under shirt with matching dark blue pants and black metal boots. On his back were two large swords both about seven feet long a dark metal and the hilt with bandages. The swords seemed to emit a black flame as the man wielding them was unaffected in fact he was wielding the flames and that core shattering stare in his eyes could take you down. The way he walked and held him self it was as if you weren't worthy to even live on the same planet as him.
On the right side of Jin was Zeko, the same masked warrior that fought Katsu and Rita. Sitting On the left side of the table in the first seat was Mason. He had short white hair and pale skin, he wore a red sleeveless shirt with black pants and red shoes along with red wrist bands. Next to him in the second seat was Yen she was wearing a white hood over her head. Black hair covered her eyes and only her nose and mouth could be shown along with a red scar that came down the left of her face near her eyes. Yen wore a red band around the neck with a cross under it. She wore a white with red lining Shirt that pressed against her well endowed body she also wore a d red and white Hakama with brown shows. She had metal guards around her arms and she wielded two Katanas.
Next to her was Kane, he had dirty green hair and onyx colored eyes. He wore a black open jacket that revealed his toned body and had split ends with spikes at the bottom of the coat. He wore black pants and brown shoes. His weapon of choice was claw gauntlet on his left hand and he wielded a long katana also known as a washing pole. He also wielded a metal guard on his right arm with a long blade sticking out at the bottom.
Now back to the right side next Rave was Kamis, He had blue colored hair with blue eyes. He wore a purple mask that covered his mouth and chin, along with a tan scarf that covered his neck. He wore a blue shirt and tan colored pants to match the scarf. He wore blue shoes and also wore what looked to be a small gold ancient artifact that wrapped around his forehead. He wielded a sword that he now had sheathed.
A sinister laugh echoed through the shadows as a silver haired man emerged bloody bandages slipping off one side of his face that part still covered in the shadows. The mans long snake like finger tips played with the bandages as his never fading smile only widened in a hysteric giggle. The man wore next to nothing, in fact all he wore were low hanging black pants held loosely by a white belt and white socks with bamboo sandals. Finally emerging from the darkness a golden eye shown with stitching on the bloody eye this man was not normal not only was he insane he was insanely powerful.
"Great, here comes the freak." Sayer muttered. Zira closed her eyes and "I wouldn't say that out to loud, you know out of everyone here, he's the last person you want to have a problem with." She said in a low tone so only he and Sindra could hear.
"I was having such a wonderful dream. I was slaughtering people left and right. I took their lives with my bare hands. It was… ecstasy to me." He said as he began to laugh a maniacal laugh. "Just imagine how much blood was shed when I was finished… but sadly I was woken up by the loud noise." He said as he grinned.
"So who was it, who woke me from my slumber?" He asked. No-one said a word, everyone was completely silent. "Oh I think I know who it was, it's the person that barks first before showing action. It was you Sayer wasn't it? Maybe I should kill you for waking me!" He laughed out loud.
"That's enough! Settle down Rage."
Emitting a certain light that could blind a mere mortal his essence alone could break the weak, this man stood taller than the average male and his posture never wavered. The way he walked it was as if he glided walking on the clouds of heaven. This man godlike from head to toe. With bright fuchsia hair no split ends not a single hair out of place as it draped down to shoulder length and shaped his long face and firm jaw line. His eyes a dark deep red simple nose and lips that never faltered from their never ending frown. The man had a strong built with tough legs and strong arms bandaged from his forearm to his wrist. He dressed in the cleanest of fabrics that never darkened or wrinkled. A white cloth that dipped in front of his chest was held up by pure gold buttons, the rest of the fabric swung behind him as if it was a cape of some sorts. Below this an armored dark brown chest plate. Around the mans waist was a pure gold belt and two buttons below it holding his white cloth that covered his upper legs. His knees bare down to his black sandals open toed of course.
Rage stopped laughing and looked at the man who had appeared behind him at the end of the table. "Galum…" He said. The man known as Galum appeared at the top of the table where his seat was. "Master Galum…" Zira called out. Galum looked at her and then to Sayer "This little argument is over." He simply said. Sayer said nothing he gritted his teeth and headed over to his chair along side Sindra and Zira.
Once everyone was seated including Rage, Galum took his seat and looked at his comrades. "We don't need to fight amongst ourselves over something that is little. Losing the base doesn't put any dents in our plans, I purposely had a base set up there to see what we were dealing with… The base meant nothing." He said with a light voice.
He then shifted his sights onto Sayer, "You were asking to be sent back to Valkinheim, why do you want to go back there so badly?" He asked. Sayer growled at the thought "It's because I need to settle things with those three weaklings that I fought, especially that damned Lloyd Irving!" He exclaimed.
Galum raised an eyebrow "Lloyd Irving? Who is he?" He asked. Sayer looked to the ground and then back at Galum "He's a Vermin that came from the world of Sylvarant. When I was working with the Desians I had heard of a boy named Lloyd Irving who was going against our rules and taking down our bases one by one. I don't know how he did it but he's found his way here to this world and now I can finally settle things with him." Sayer said.
Galum heard him out and thought for a moment "You said he came from your world? Hmm… I want you to wait on settling things with him. If he's truly not from this world then theirs no saying who's followed him to this world and he's helping the king and his guilds fight our team. We need to look into this and see just how much man power they gained before we go rushing into battle. Besides This Lloyd you speak of, along with the king and the rest of his people have no idea what we're after, let's keep them guessing for now. Trust me it's going according to plan…" He spoke.
Katsu awoke from his slumber and got up to see that all the other guys were just starting to wake up was well. Jude groaned as he sat up and rubbed his head. "You look like crap, what happened to you?" Katsu asked. Jude sighed and looked down at the ground "Milla happened…" he whined. Konyu looked at him and raised an eyebrow "What did she do?" He asked.
(Flash Back)
Jude ran as fast as he could, he knew that the girls were pissed and they were out for blood. He didn't want any part of this, but he knew that it was already too late.
"Fire Ball!"
Jude quickly ran to the left, dodging a fireball that came flying towards him. "She's after me!" He exclaimed, knowing who was following him. 'She's really mad' He thought to himself.
Three more fireballs came flying towards him, and ended up crashing into trees. 'If I keep running like this, she'll just keep chasing me until I finally get tired.' He thought as he looked back.
He finally stopped and turned around 'I'll have to face her; I'm a man after all. Running is not going to fix this.' He thought to himself.
"Jude!"
MIlla finally made it to Jude and looked at him. The look was full of disappointment; she could not believe that he would be a part of something like that. "Jude, I know that men like to do these types of things. But I never expected this of you." She scolded.
"Milla, I swear, I wasn't trying to look at you." He stated. Milla wasn't buying it and she proved it as she fired a fireball at him. Jude jumped away from the attack and looked at her.
"Milla listen to me, why would I do that to you?" He asked which made her stop in her tracks. "You, more than anyone should know that you're special to me, and I respect you way too much to spy on you." Jude explained.
Milla calmed down and took a deep breath "I know you respect me but…" She started until he cut her off. "I was only there, because Zelos was spying on you all. Me and the other guys were trying to stop him. Lloyd tried to stop him as well, but you and the girls didn't give him a chance to explain." He explained.
Milla didn't say a word she just closed her eyes and started to think. "Milla are you really saying you see me that way?" He asked, his tone showing that he was starting to get a little upset.
Milla shook her head and looked at him "If you say you weren't involved then I'll take your word for it." She replied, putting her faith in him, like always. "You've never done anything to make me think badly of you, so if you say you didn't look, then I believe you." She responded. Jude smiled and nodded, happy knowing she believed him.
(End Of Flash Back)
"You made it seem like she killed you or something!" Katsu said. He then shifted his eyes over to Konyu "Now you had it bad. I heard nothing but screams coming from you." He added. Konyu sighed as everyone looked at him "Sheena and Kanono beat the hell out of me. I can imagine how you felt Lloyd, seeing as you had every single girl hitting you." He replied.
"Milla and Rita, did most of the damage. I can tell Presea and Sheena held back." He responded, rubbing his cheek. Asbel smiled at him "Well at least they're over it now." He said.
"With that smile on your face, I guess it's safe to say Cheria didn't yell at you?" Hubert asked as she stood up. Asbel looked at him and shook his head "She said she knows that I'm not that way and said that she trusts me." He explained.
"Boys, we're all ready to go! Hurry up and get ready!"
"We're coming Kanono!" Konyu called out. The boys looked at each other for a moment and nodded, knowing that they had something important to do.
Once they were ready they all headed to the King's castle with the girls. Once they arrived Moon and the others were already waiting for them. Everyone was standing in the front hall waiting on the King, talking and having a peaceful moment. Yumin walked up to them and looked at Katsu who looked upset "You look miserable. Did something happen?" She asked. Katsu looked at her and shook his head "Trust me, you don't want to know." He responded.
Yumin smirked and leaned towards his ear "Does it have to do with your precious… Rita?" She whispered. Katsu growled at her "You're starting to get on my nerves." Yumin just smiled at him and brushed off his comment.
"Well it's been awhile Moon and Yumin."
Both Yumin and Moon turned to see two girls standing behind them. She had short Violet hair, with green eyes. She wore a purple top that wrapped around her breast and a jacket to go over it exposing her stomach. She wore black pants with a purple belt around her waist and purple and black shoes to match. Her name is Was Angie Zoe, she was the master of The Lightning Guild.
Standing beside Angie was a young girl who also had a lighter Violet hair color with Violet eyes. The girl was wearing small cloth wrappings around her mouth, nobody really knew why she wore, but it made her comfortable. She wore a White shirt with a pink ribbon on the neck part. For her bottom she was wearing a pink mini skirt and pink and white shoes. Her name was Winky Cason, she was the master of the Chaos Guild.
"Oh no!" Konyu and Katsu said as they face palmed. Yuri noticed this and raised an eyebrow.
"Something wrong?" He asked.
"You'll see soon enough." Katsu muttered.
"I really don't understand, why does the king wants us to do this. I really don't like having to work with you all." Angie said.
"I agree, although I think I dislike it just a little more than you do." Yumin said, glaring at Angie, who just huffed and looked away.
"I honestly don't see a need for me to work with such a pathetic bunch." Winky said as she looked away not wanting to give the other three attention. "I feel the same way, you little Amazon." Angie growled.
Moon sighed and spoke up "Well regardless how you all feel we have to work together. The king is requesting it and we cannot decline his request. I get that we all don't like each other but what's more important right now? Our differences or protecting the people?" She asked.
The three girls looked at her and growled "Alright we get it, Shut up!" They said in unison. Yuri, Asbel, Lloyd and Jude looked at them in disbelief. "We tried to tell you." Katsu and Konyu stated in unison.
Katsu put his hands behind his head and sighed "I'm not about to sit here and listen to them fight." He said as he turned around and prepared to walk off until he bumped into someone.
He looked down at the person he knocked over to see that it was none other than Shirley Fennes. Shirly rubbed her head and groaned a little. "I'm sorry, I didn't know that you were behind me." Katsu said as he extended a hand out. His hand was soon slapped away by someone else's hand.
Senel Coolidge stood beside Shirley and glared at Katsu "You should watch where you're going." He said coldly. Katsu aimed a small glare at him "Hey I apologized, so stay out of it." Katsu said.
Senel glared at Katsu when he heard his comment "What was that?" He asked. Katsu stepped closer to Senel "You heard me." He replied. The two had just met and tension was already growing between the two.
"Calm down Coolidge."
To their left stood Chloe Valens who didn't look to pleased. "Just drop it." She said. Senel kept his eyes on Katsu "You should tell him that." Senel stated which made Chloe sigh. "No I think you're the one she should tell that too. I mean you are the one that started it." Katsu replied. This earned him a glare from Senel, but it didn't seem to faze Katsu at all.
"Senel I'm okay. It was just an accident." Shirley chimed in.
"The little lady said she's alright. I think you should let this one go."
Everyone turned to see Alvin standing on their right side. Behind him were Gaius, Muzet and Leia. Jude, Milla, Rowen, Teepo and Elize smiled at this sight. "You guys are alright, I'm so happy." Elize stated. She was very happy to see them, but Senel was not.
"What's it to you? This doesn't concern you." Senel snapped. Alvin held up his hands "Whoa now, I'm not trying to start a fight. All I'm saying is we shouldn't have this go any further, especially when we're in the King's castle." Alvin explained.
Senel gritted his teeth and looked away, which made Shirly and Chloe smile. Jude looked at Leia and smiled "I'm glad you're alright." He said. Leia nodded and looked at him "I'm glad you're alright too. Muzet and I had joined Winky's guild, hoping it would somehow get us closer to finding you all." She responded.
Muzet nodded as she flew over to Gaius and touched his shoulders "We were so worried about you all." Gaius just kept his arms crossed and looked forward; trying his best not to make eye contact "It seems we're all alright. But regardless of all that, we won't be able to get back home for awhile." He informed them.
Muzet just sighed "A few months won't kill you. A little break never hurts anyone." She replied. Gaius didn't respond which made her smile, knowing he gave up.
Milla looked around and noticed that there were a lot of people around them. Kohaku Hearts and Hisui Hearts were there. Along with them were Nanaly Fletch, Norma Beatty, Natalia, Farah Oersted, Meredy, Keele Zeibel, Chat, Garr Kelvin, Anise Tatlin, Ruca Milda, Iria Animi and more.
"Hey Lloyd!"
Lloyd, Zelos, Sheena and Colette turned around to see Genis Sage, Raine Sage, Regal Bryant and Marta Lualdi. "Genis!" Lloyd exclaimed as he ran over to his long time friend. Konyu noticed this and looked at Sheena "Friends of yours?" He asked. Sheena smiled and nodded.
"Lloyd where have you been? We've been worried sick about you all." Genis said. Colette walked over to Martha and smiled which earned her a smile back from Martha. "I joined a guild with, Presea, Zelos and Sheena. I thought that by joining, we would eventually run into each other." Lloyd explained.
"We did the same thing, although Raine was against it at first." Genis stated.
Regal and Raine looked at each other for a moment before she spoke "I was only being cautious. We had no idea what to expect in this world." She said with an annoyed tone.
"Have any of you seen Emil?" Martha asked. She looked very worried and Lloyd and the others could see it. But how could you blame her? Emil was her boyfriend after all. "We haven't come across Emil just yet. But I'm sure we'll see him sooner or later." Lloyd explained.
Martha nodded at him explanation and sighed. "Lloyd, on our quest with the lightning guild. We found something that you might want to see." Raine said. Lloyd raised an eyebrow at her remark and awaited her to show him what they found.
"It's been too long… Lloyd."
Lloyd knew that voice all too well; it was a voice he hadn't heard in a long time. He turned around slowly to and saw who was standing behind him "Kratos…"
Kratos looked Lloyd and nodded "It's been awhile, you've grown a lot since the last time I saw you." He responded. Lloyd was lost for words; he didn't think he would ever see Kratos again. "But how did you get here, I thought you were-"
"On Derris-Kharlan? Yeah I was… until I was hit with a blinding white light and then before I knew I ended up in this world." He explained. Lloyd was shocked this point "So the same thing that happened to all of us happened to you too huh?" Lloyd asked. Kratos nodded at his question, Genis smiled "Hey Lloyd, get this! Angie was so impressed with Kratos's skills that she made him a captain in her guild." He explained.
Lloyd smirked at Kratos "Somehow that doesn't surprise me." Lloyd replied. Kratos gave him a smile back and nodded.
Lloyd turned his head and looked at Regal "I'm glad you're alright. " Lloyd asked. Regal smiled "The same to you as well Lloyd.." He responded.
"Oh yeah, guys there's someone I'd like you to meet. Hey, Konyu come over here!" Lloyd called out as he called on Konyu.
Konyu who was talking to Blaine turned his head, "Blaine, you come over too." Presea said in her usual stoic tone. Blaine and Konyu walked over to them.
"Konyu, I'd like you to meet my friends Genis, Raine, Kratos, Regal and Martha. Guys this is Konyu." Lloyd introduced.
Presea nodded "And this is Blaine, Konyu's older brother." She stated with a small smile which Genis noticed very quickly.
Genis ran over to Lloyd who had an idea on what Genis was about to say. "Lloyd who is he? How could you let this happen?" Genis asked.
Lloyd smiled nervously "I'm sorry Genis. I've been kinda busy." He said trying to keep Genis from yelling at him.
Farah and Meredy was looking around hoping to find a certain someone but did not succeed "I wonder where Reid is." Farah said. Keele looked at her and then crossed his arms "He should be fine. Reid is a tough guy after all. The only thing you should worry about when it comes to Reid is his eating habits."
Will, who was standing next to them along with Norma looked at Farah "Reid is the guy you was telling me about right?" He asked. Farah looked at him and quickly nodded.
"He's probably hunting treasure." Norma said with confidence in her eyes. Will quickly bopped her on the head which made her wince in pain. "What was that for?" She asked.
"Not everyone is like you." He responded as he crossed his arms. He turned his head to Farah once again "I'm sure your friend is fine." He said which made Farah and Meredy smile.
"Tear! Guy!"
Tear and Guy turned around to see Anise who had a smile on her face, showing that she was happy to see them. "Anise, so you were in a guild the whole time?" Tear asked.
Anise nodded "Yeah, Winky found me and took me in when I told her my story. She let me stay a day and then told me about more people appearing in this world with the same story I gave her, I thought if I stayed with her and joined her guild I might be able to find my way to you guys eventually. She also told me that I'd be sent back to my world in a few months." She explained.
"Yeah, that's the same thing Moon told me. Joining her guild has been very interesting." Tear responded. Guy looked at Anise "Was you able to find Jade, Natalia or Luke?" Guy asked. Anise shook her head as she looked to the ground "No I haven't, you two are the only ones I've found so far." She replied.
"Everyone can I have your attention please!"
Everyone turned to see a man with short yellow hair. His eyes were blue and he wore black square glasses. He wore silver knight armor. He stood at 5'8 and weighed 170.
Katsu growled as he looked at the person who suddenly appeared "Zenour." He muttered. Yuri noticed this and raised his eyebrow "Do you have a problem with this guy?" He asked.
"I can't stand him." Katsu replied. Yumin slowly appeared behind him and put her hand on his shoulder, "Don't…" She said. Katsu slowly looked at her and then turned his attention back to Zenour "I won't say anything." He replied.
"Will you all please pay respect to the great King Gesar." He announced as he turned around to see Gesar walk through the doors. Everyone bowed their heads as he raised his hands up. "Please don't bow, Raise your heads young ones." The King spoke.
Everyone raised their heads and looked at the King as he started to speak "Raise your heads my friends. No need for formalities." He said as everyone raised up there heads. "Today we'll be retrieving the Baneltea. As you all know, the Nexus have been causing problems not only here but in other towns as well. If we can retrieve the Banaltea, it'll be very useful with getting us to certain locations in a short time." He explained.
Everyone stayed quiet as he spoke, listening to every word. "We're going to be sending a team of Ten people to go to the Mountains west of here where the Baneltea is at. It's heavily guarded by a few of my knights. I'm sure the Guild masters have chosen the people they want to send?" The king asked.
Moon, Angie, Winky and Yumin walked towards the King and turned around preparing to announce who was going. "We all know that three out of the ten will be Rita, Pascal and Harold. The other seven will be going with them to protect them and the ship, we don't know if the Nexus have caught on to our plans but we're going to act cautiously. So from my guild, I'll be sending Tear and Zelos." Moon announced. Tear nodded and Zelos put his hands on his hips as he smiled.
Yumin walked over to Moon and stood next to her as she looked at the line up of heroes. "The people that will be going from my team will be Raine and Genis." Yumin announced. Lloyd looked over at Genis and raised an eyebrow "So you were with Yumin the whole time?" He asked. Genis nodded "We just recently joined with her but yeah we're in her guild." Genis responded as he then turned to look at his sister who smiled back at him.
It was now Winky's turn to walk upfront with the other guild masters and state her teammates names. "The ones I have chosen from my team will be Farah and Chloe." She responded in a rather dark tone. Chloe and Farah looked at each other and nodded.
Angie smiled and stepped forward rather proudly as she crossed her arms. "For my team I have only chosen one. He is the newly appointed second captain of the Lightning Guild I give to you... Jade Curtiss!" She exclaimed as the door behind her opened.
Tear and Guy's eyes widened as they saw him come into the room "Jade..." They said in unison. Jade smiled and looked at everyone "It's nice to meet you all. I hope we can all get along and work together. Like the young woman mentioned, my name is Jade Curtis, captain in the Lightning guild." He explained.
Zenour rolled his eyes and flipped his hair with his hand "Show off..." He muttered. Moon then cleared her throat and spoke again "Now that, that's out of way there's another matter we need to attend to. We will be sending a team of seven to retrieve the Axion Crystal." She said.
"Axion Crystal?" Jude asked as he put his hand to his chin. Moon nodded at him, and continued "It's true that the Baneltea runs on Mana. But it also needs power from an Axion crystal, The Axion crystal is a red crystal that holds immense power and that's what the ship needs." She explained. Everyone stayed quiet and listened to her, "The team that will be going is Gustav, Jude, Regal, Guy, Flynn, Senel and Hubert." She responded.
Everyone who had their names called out stepped up and nodded preparing themselves for their mission. "Gustav knows about the Axion Crystals and where they are located so he'll be leading the team. As for the others guild members will be having something to do." Moon added.
"Elize, Yuuto, Rowen, Giaus, Muzet and Leia. You guys will head to the nearest town to stock up on supplies meaning food and healing supplies." Yumin said.
"As for everyone else, you guys will guard the Kings castle just in case. The Nexus could be plotting against us and the last thing we need is for them to swarm the king." Angie added.
Everyone looked at each other and nodded agreeing with the plans that were just made. Lloyd looked at Konyu and raised an eyebrow, "Hey Konyu, what's the whole captain thing about?" Lloyd asked.
Konyu smiled at him as he crossed his arms "I had a feeling you were going to ask that, well let me explain like this. There are two levels in a guild there's the Guild Warrior's which are us, our job is to handle missions and job requests. But then there is the guild captain's, they're job is to teach the warriors and make them better fighters. They also have to escort the guild master when he or she travels. And at times they're also sent on important missions. Jade is a captain so he's going to escort Rita and the others to the Ship and watch over them. Gustav is a captain as well which is why he's being sent on the retrieval team for the Axion Crystal." He explained.
Lloyd nodded as he gathered in all the information. "So how does one become a captain?" Milla asked as she put her finger to her lips, showing that she was interested with the conversation. Katsu smirked "Well Maxwell, there's three ways you can do it. First you can go to the Guild master and request captain position. If they thinks you're ready they'll set up a spar with you and if you impress the guild master enough you'll be granted that position. Another way is you can complete jobs and request and if the Guild master thinks they see potential they'll pull you to the side and make you an offer without having to go through the spar. Then there's the last way where every year we have Captain's battle royal. The guild master will select a few from the guild that they think are worthy of the rank. They will then put you in a battle royal and who ever wins gets a captain position." Katsu explained.
"I see, sounds very interesting." Milla responded. Katsu raised his eyebrow and smirked "Let me guess, Maxwell want's to become a captain." He stated. Milla didn't bother to look at him, she had her eyes set on one person... Moon. "I think I just might." She responded.
The King looked at everyone once more and nodded "Well if we all know what we're doing, let's get started." He said. Everyone nodded "Right!" They said in unison which put a smile on the kings face.
Ten minutes later everyone was preparing to set off. Gustav looked to his team and spoke "If everyone is ready we'll leave immediately." he said. Milla looked at Jude who smiled at her "Well I'm heading out, I'll see you when I get back." He said as he turned his body around preparing to leave. "Be careful out there Jude." She said. Jude nodded at her "I will, I promise." He responded as he smiled at her.
"Try to come back alive okay." Yuri teased his old time friend. Flynn smirked at him "Oh I will, you just stay out of trouble and be on your best behavior until I get back." Flynn replied. Yuri just rolled his eyes "Yeah, yeah." He responded.
Once that was said Gustav and his group set off on their journey. Milla and Yuri walked back to the castle where Konyu and the others were. Moon walked over to Konyu who was having a conversation with Lloyd, leaning on wall. "Konyu, do you mind if we talk in private?" She asked. Konyu stopped talking and looked at her for a second before nodding. "Sure." He responded. He then turned his head to Lloyd "I'll be right back." He assured him. Lloyd nodded his head as the two walked away.
They walked out of the room that everyone was at and headed down the hall before stopping in the middle. Moon's back was facing Konyu and he was starting to wonder what this was all about. He could tell just by looking at Moon that something was on her mind. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" He asked. Moon stayed silent for a second and then began to speak. "Listen Konyu, things are getting serious with this battle involving the Nexus. As you know Yumin and Angie have already started choosing captains for their guilds, and seeing as things are the way they are, I think I need to choose some as well. We won't be back home for awhile once we get the Baneltea. I need to elect a captain or two to help me plan a strategy in this fight with the Nexus as well as looking out for the Guild warriors." She explained.
Konyu looked at her with a serious look before smiling "If this is your way of asking me if I want to become a Captain, I'm going to have to say no." He responded quickly which caught Moon a little off guard.
"Why would you deny that offer?"
Konyu and Moon turned their heads to the left to see Sheena walking over to them "Sheena" Konyu said with a surprised reaction. "I'm sorry I was looking for you and overheard your conversation when I found you." She said as she looked at Konyu. He smiled and nodded letting her know she didn't need to be sorry, "I'm not ready to be a captain just yet Sheena. I have a lot to learn and Moon knows that, yeah I'm strong but I still feel like I'm not ready to teach other people, as much as I look forward to being captain I know that now is not the right time to make me one." He explained which made Moon smile. She knew him better then anyone and knew that this was him being mature and thinking things through. Sheena looked at him and said nothing understanding where he was coming from and knowing that he was only looking out for Moon's best interests.
"But I do have a recommendation." He said. Moon closed her eyes and crossed her arms knowing exactly who he was about to recommend "You're talking about Maxwell right?" She asked. Konyu nodded "She's extremely powerful, The artes she wields is beyond belief. I believe she would be the best choice for you. I'm sure you've noticed it yourself." He said. Moon nodded "Yeah I did, I was eventually going to ask her but I thought I'd give you the offer first seeing as you been here longer. But I understand your reason on declining my offer." She responded. Sheena sighed and crossed her arms "I still think your strong enough already but if you say so" She said. Konyu laughed and looked at her "You haven't even seen my full power yet and you already think I'm capable of being captain, that makes me happy." He said. Sheena looked at him for a second and then smiled. Moon looked at the two for a moment and smiled 'These two…' She thought to herself.
