Now that I'm MOSTLY done being a complete weirdo, enjoy all the Sonic references I have pulled from my ass for this thing I wrote ages ago.

She was up there…

Singing with a whole band of dudes.

And every guy in the place had their eyes solely on her.

It probably didn't hurt she was the only girl in the place either.

I mean, it was a comic shop, for the love of God.

And she was singing "Reach For the Stars" from Sonic Colors and she was singing her heart out and she was just gorgeous up there…

"I've got it in my sight. The colors feel so right. Got my feet off the ground. I'll keep on running! Oh, I can feel it now. The colors all around. Just take my hand. She hopped off the stage and came right towards me.

Well...Okay, she came towards the bar.

And only sat next to me until her Coke came.

And then made her way back to the stage.

Where she proceeded to swig down all her Coke in one gulp.

And then launch into "I Am" from Shadow the Hedgehog.

I knew I was in love with her.

And she couldn't stop smiling at me, tucking her dark brown curls behind her ears.

I fell in love with her there.

In that little comic shop.

And in that moment, I rushed to the front of the room, towards her. Towards the stage.

I hated everyone looking at her.

And then she launched into "Follow Me" from Sonic Heroes.

And I was lost in her baby blues.

In her bright smile.

In all the love that was spilling into her words.

It felt like a private concert, just for me.

She skipped the bubbly, "La la la la la la." bits and let the music continue.

She hopped from the stage, into the open arms of her adoring fans.

After they were done getting all handsy, they deposited her right next to me.

"You just about fell over there."

"Dude, shut up. They caught me. We're good."

"If you say so Ice Queen."

"And like you're some Fire Lord."

And then our eyes met.

"Michelle." She holds out her hand.

"Leo." And I shake it.

And then she smiles all mischievously, and grabs my hand and pulls me off to an alleyway outside.

"I didn't want them all to see me kiss someone I'd never met." And then she does it. She dives forward and kisses me. And it's soft, and innocent. And sweet.

And I knew I loved her.

Right then.

Right there.

I loved Michelle with all my heart.

But I didn't learn her last name until our third date.

YEARS LATER

"CHELLE!"

"LEEEEOOOO!"

"CHEEEEEELLLLEEEE!"

"LEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOO!"

"THIS IS IMPORTANT!"

"OKAY!" She laughs, walks in drying a plate, and sits beside me on the couch. She turns to me, her smile full wattage.

I touch the bulge in my pocket.

I swallow hard.

And then I peck her cheek.

"Finish the dishes. It can wait."

"Sweetie. The dishes can wait. What is it?"

I put my hand in my pocket, get on one knee, and pull out the box.

"Will you, Michelle Belle Renee Kelley , marry me?"

Her eyes grew to saucers, her mouth dropped agape.

"Y-y-y-y-y-YES! Of course you doof!"

I slipped the ring on her finger, kissed her forehead.

But she jumped into my arms and kissed me hard.

"I've never loved anyone this much."

She'd finally said it.

Over the years I'd showed it to her, told her, prodded her to say it back.

And she finally said it.

"Leo, are you...Are you crying?!" She was basically laughing in my face, actually in my face, I mean she was only a few inches away.

"Yes! YES I AM! YOU FINALLY SAID YOU LOVE ME!"

Michelle shook her head, laughing again, "Finally?! You idiot! I told you the first day. You just couldn't tell. You didn't know me well enough yet." She just kept smiling down at me. Her baby blues gazing at me so lovingly it was almost deadly.

"Ice Queen." I called her.

"Fire Lord, you idiot." She'd called me that since day one.

"Kelley."

"Valdez. Just…"

"What?"

"Call me Valdez. That's my new last name."

"Whatever you say, Chelle."

MORE YEARS LATER

"I like Lea."

"Only because I wouldn't let you name the boy Leo Junior."

"C'mooooooonnnnnn Chelley!"

"Fine." she smirks that smirk at me. "We did agree. I get to name the first boy…"

"And I get to name the first girl." I smirk.

"Jasper Aiden." She tells me.

"Lea Lyric." I tell her.

"Beautiful." she says.

I smile at her. "Yeah, you really are." I push back her sweaty hair, dab her forehead, kiss her there.

"I love you." I say it again.

"And I, you." she replies. Her blue eyes sparkling, her smile at full wattage. She'd just birthed twins and she'd never been more gorgeous.

"You mean the world to me. And now we've got these two adorable babies that are part of my world too."

"You are amazing, M."

"Lee."

And that is my love story.
