Rin
I woke up and found myself in a white room with a bunch of people in doctor's uniforms surrounding me. Images of needles, test tubes and screaming flashed in my mind. Panic consumed my chest and I lunged at the closest person on instinct.
I managed to kick him in the chest before the rest of the doctors tried to grab me. I wasn't going down without a fight. I grabbed the doctors that had my ankle and tossed him into the wall, pain immediately shot through my arm. I glanced at it to see it bleeding, 'Great.'
In my peripheral vision I saw a doctor coming towards me with a syringe in their hand filled with green liquid. Whatever that stuff was, I did not want to find out. I franticly turned my head looking for a window.
"We're not going to hurt you! We're doctors were just trying to help!" one yelled.
"Like I haven't heard that one before." I rolled my eyes.
"ANBU!" another shouted.
Two masked men came through the door in an instant. Wearing masks that resembled animals and matching gear. I eyed them warily.
One advanced and tried to grab my wrists. I quickly backed away and ducked under a punch the second one threw. We engaged in hand-to-hand combat for a while. Since they took my tool pouch I just picked up random supplies off the carts in the room. I managed to nail one in the head with a roll of bandages, which just made him mad. One threw a kick and I took a step back. He suddenly lunged at me and I took another step back, but hit the wall behind me.
I turned my head towards the wall then quickly back at the ninja, 'shit!' I put my hands up to shield myself. He used one hand to quickly grab both my wrists and the other wrapped itself around my throat. His buddy was next to him in an instant and brought a kunai to my neck to make sure I stayed still.
"Target contained." One told a doctor. The doctor, obviously the one in charge, had blond hair and a diamond on her forehead.
I smirked and whispered, "Lightning style: Discharge."
Both ANBU got the full impact of my jutsu. They were immediately electrocuted and slumped to the ground. I was about to make a break for it when my legs gave out. I was out of chakra. I shakily tried to get up and run, but I just stumbled a couple of steps and hit the ground again.
"Tsunade-sama!" I heard one shout, I felt a needle dig into my arm and darkness consumed me once again.
Tsunade
When the girl on our operating table lunged at one of my doctors I was quiet surprised. Her speed was amazing considering how much blood she lost.
She kicked a doctor in the chest before we all tried to hold her down. That just made her struggle even more. She yanked her hand out of Shizune's grip and tossed the doctor that had previously had her ankle into the wall. She grimaced and grabbed her injured shoulder.
Shizune grabbed a syringe on the nearby counter and started to approach the girl, while said girl searched frantically for, what I'm guessing, some kind of exit.
"We're not going to hurt you! We're doctors were just trying to help!" Shizune shouted.
"Like I haven't heard that one before." She rolled her eyes.
"ANBU!" I shouted. They came with me when I got the report a girl had been found gravely injured at the gates. I'd never of though I'd actually need them.
Two masked men came through the door immediately. One advanced and tried to grab her wrists. She quickly backed away ducked under a punch. They engaged in hand-to-hand combat for a while. She picked up supplies off the carts in the room and began throwing them at the ANBU. 'Gotta admire her fighting spirit.' I almost laughed when she nailed one in the head with a roll of bandages.
One threw a kick and she stepped back, he was slowly forcing her back to the wall. He lunged and she tried to take another step back, but hit the wall with her back.
Her head turned, seeing the wall behind her she knew what would happen next. She put her hands up to shield herself. The two ANBU easily restrained her.
"Target contained." They turned their attention to me.
She smirked and whispered something I couldn't hear, but that smile quickly put me on guard. The next thing I knew, both ANBU were shocked with lightning, and they fell to the ground unconscious. She made a move to sprint out the doors but she fell flat on her face. She tried to get up, but only made it two feet before she fell again. I could tell she had exhausted her chakra and the blood loss wasn't helping either.
Shizune called out, "Tsunade-sama!"
Taking advantage of her fatigue I picked up a syringe and stabbed it into her arm and she immediately lost consciousness.
All the doctors relaxed and we gave a sigh. We moved the ANBU to another room in the hospital to be treated, then got back to work.
I assessed the damage and found she had 3 broken ribs, a concussion, multiple cuts/punctures and a deep gash in her shoulder. The blood loss was the only thing endangering her life at the moment. I activated my healing jutsu and got to work.
Once she was stable we put her in a room and had some ANBU stay with her for when she woke up.
Rin
The pain from my shoulder made me groan and I slowly opened my eyes. I was in a hospital bed, but I was surrounded by masked figures, they looked like the ones I had attacked earlier. They sensed my movement and immediately turned around armed and ready in case I attack. Which I probably would've if I my head weren't screaming in pain.
One of the figures told me "Stay calm, were not gonna hurt you! Your safe."
I eyed them all warily, not completely trusting them yet, "Who are you?"
"We're ninjas from the hidden leaf, we're here to keep an eye on you, now can you tell us where you're from?" he asked politely, but you could tell it was more of a demand.
I thought about it for a second, but my mind was completely blank. "..I don't know.." I began to feel panicked again "I-I can't remember"
The ANBU put a hand on my shoulder "Stay calm Lady Tsunade is on her way over now, she's the one who helped you. Now, its important you answer all of her questions, okay?" I just nodded. He turned to his teammates and nodded his head, one disappeared and in a few moments a lady with blond hair and a diamond on her forehead appeared in the doorway, she was the one from the operation room.
She sat on the side of my bed and her hands glowed green as she moved them toward me. I immediately jerked back, "Its okay" she spoke calmly "It's a healing ninjutsu." I looked warily at her but didn't move away when she brought her hands to my head, the chakra felt calm and soothing.
Her brows furrowed slightly, "It's possible you have amnesia, it doesn't look permanent and your memory should come back with time. Is their anything you can remember?"
I thought for a moment searching for anything I could remember. "I remember attacking a doctor." I said simply.
She chuckled "Alright anything else?"
When I closed my eyes I remembered one thing "My name is Rin."
She nodded, "If you remember anything else tell me, okay?"
Once she looked over all my wounds, she left, taking the ANBU with her. I let out a breath feeling more relaxed now that I was alone. I looked over myself and saw I was wearing a light blue V-neck shirt and light blue long pants, there was a bandage on my shoulder and along with the upper half of my body, and another bandage on my head.
I hopped of the bed, which made me a little dizzy and made my way over to the bathroom.
I looked in the mirror and saw that I had black hair that went down to the mid of my back, it was layered. I had bangs that covered my left eye. My visible eye was an onyx color. When I pulled back my bangs I gasped at what I saw my left eye was green! GREEN! I may not remember everything but I'm pretty sure having two different colored eyes was not normal.
I stared at it for a while. I could see out of my green eye perfectly fine. It wasn't damaged or anything. Why was it green? Oh forget it. I made my way out of the bathroom and went to stand by the window.
The village was really sunny and warm. I saw children running around on the street and various people going to and from the hospital. Everyone seemed happy, well most of them did anyway. There were stands of food and friends on every street. I closed my eyes. The sun heated my face through the window. This warmth felt foreign to me, but it felt nice. My body was used to cold and darkness, but I longed for the sun. I opened the window and let the nice breezes float through the room.
I made my way back to my bed and lied down. I had no idea what might happen to me in this strange village, for all I know I could be killed or kicked out tomorrow, but for some reason I felt….I don't know…free? Happy? I felt like this was the most relaxed I've ever been.
Soon a nurse came in bringing breakfast. I ate and spent the next two day resting and recovering. The Hokage didn't come for me, which I think is a good sign that I'm not going to be kicked out of the village or something.
A knock on the door startled me. "Come in." I called.
An ANBU opened my door, "Lady Tsunade would like to see you."
'Shit.'
Tsunade
I sat at my desk finishing some paper work when there was a knock at the door.
"Enter"
The door opened revealing Rin escorted by some ANBU. They motioned for her to come in. She made her way over to my desk and bowed awkwardly.
"You wanted to see me?" she asked.
I nodded "I want you to be evaluated." I informed her.
"Evaluated?" she asked.
"Yes, you see myself and a few others believe you are a ninja and we would like to test how developed you are. If your skilled we may put you on a team and that may help jog your memory…" Rin nodded clearly unsure of herself. "…Don't worry about the evaluation, you'll fight an ANBU and he'll go easy, it's just to test your skill."
In actuality, the elders just wanted me to evaluate her to see if she could be of use to the village. "If she lost her memory she could be a valuable weapon". I despised the idea, but orders were orders.
Rin
I stood in a clearing facing a masked figure. I felt really weird considering I couldn't remember anything about fighting and I was still in my hospital uniform. The rules were clear; I fight him as hard as I can and aim to kill if I went easy I'd just be wasting their time.
I took a deep breath and awkwardly put my arms up in a boxing type of pose. I don't know what I'm doing okay?
The ninja just stood there so I figured he was waiting for me to start.
I ran straight at him and threw a punch, as he reached up to block I disappeared and reappeared behind him and swiped at his legs. He jumped up swiftly and swung his leg at me. I closed my eyes bracing for the impact, but it never came. I peeked and saw his foot hovering a few centimeters from my cheek. He pulled his foot back, turned to Lady Tsunade and said "Well Tsunade-sama judging by this fight I'd say she's not even prepared to be a—"
"NO!" I shouted. Which surprised everyone including myself. I felt angry and I didn't even know why. I closed my eyes "give me one more chance" I asked. The ANBU turned towards me "Listen Kid, its okay, if you couldn't even dodge that I don't think—"
"I can do this." I stated looking him straight in the eyeholes of his mask. He turned to Lady Tsunade, once she nodded he sighed "Okay kid, one more time." He got into a ready stance.
I closed my eyes and took a breath. It might have been my anger or just my plain stubbornness that caused me to do this, but I charged once again, but this time it felt different. My body went into autopilot: Jump, kick, duck, punch, dive. The ANBU seemed surprised at my sudden speed and strength, and he picked up the pace coming at me faster and harder than before.
I easily kept up feeling a smile escape my lips 'this is nothing' my brain automatically thought. I shook my head 'Where did that cockiness come from?'
I kicked at him, forcing him to flip backwards. I began weaving signs I didn't even know. It was like my body was thinking for me. After the last sign I closed my eyes and slammed one of my hands at the ground. The ANBU jumped anticipating the attack as earth spikes shot out of the ground kicking up dust and dirt. The spike missed him by an inch.
The dust made it hard to see, a natural smoke bomb. The ANBU jumped out of the dust cloud just as I located his chakra signature. Opening my eyes I thrust my free hand, which wasn't on the ground, at him water escaped from my palm and shot toward him.
Immediately he was engulfed in a water prison, I smiled at my victory until a Kunai was raised to the back of my neck. The ANBU that was in my water prison poofed away into a puff of smoke and was gone. I dropped the water prison and sighed. 'A shadow clone huh?'
"When did you do it?" I asked calmly. Even though I couldn't see his face I knew he was smirking.
"When you closed your eyes to perform that earth jutsu." He stated.
I let out a light laugh, "Nice trick, but your not the only one who can use clones." His eyes realized what I meant. The clone that had a kunai pressed to her neck dispersed and lightning shocked the ANBU through the kunai.
'I wonder if this is the same ANBU from the operating room. I shocked those guys pretty bad.'
He dropped the Kunai and fell to his knees but was back up in an instant.
'Damn it' I cursed, 'that trick was suppost to finish him I don't have much chakra left.'
Last shot, "Wind style: Wind Blade!" I held up my pointer and middle finger and made cuts in the air. Each swipe materialized into a sharp wind current and flew towards the ANBU. He jumped from side to side dodging as best as he could. When one came to him head on, he whipped out a katana that had been strapped to his hip and held his ground. The wind collided with his blade, and a strong gust exploded between the two. It had enough force to knock me on my back.
The ANBU held his ground for a moment, but the wind ended up blowing him into a nearby tree in the forest. I didn't expect it to be that powerful.
"Oh my God! Are you okay?" I started running in the direction he was in.
When I got to the edge of the forest, he was nowhere in sight. Then I was tackled to the floor from above, and a katana was held to my throat.
"Hey, that's not fair." I rebuked.
"Rule #1: Don't show compassion for the enemy." He said jokingly and held up a finger to indicate the number one.
"Cheater." I mumbled.
"That was a good match though." He turned to Tsunade and nodded.
Tsunade walked to me and said, "I'll talk to him and well let you know what will happen. For now, one of the ANBU will take you to where you'll be living." and with that she walked to her office with the ANBU I had just battled right behind her.
Tsunade
I stood with the ANBU in my office. I paced the floor nervously, that girl was….unusual.
"She can use 4 elements." The ANBU said distraught, "That's unusual even for a Jonin!"
I jotted down some notes on a file I had created for her.
Name: Rin
Age: Around 13
Birthday: Unknown
Birth Village: Unknown
Parents: Unknown
Notes: Has amnesia
Elements: Water, Earth, Lightning and Wind.
"Her appearance and skill are…concerning," he added.
I nodded, this girl, whoever she was, could be a threat. Everything was suspicious.
"Is she a threat?" he asked.
I shook my head, "Not while she has amnesia, at least. She just seems confused. I think the elder will see her as a valuable weapon if we control her." Naruto popped into my mind. The elders would see both of them as nothing more than tools for the village.
"Here's what we'll do," I proposed, "Well put her on a genin team to get used to the village. That way she can get some training and won't deal with missions that pertain to the security of the village."
"But what genin team are you putting her on? Surely no one would want a potential enemy near their students."
"I've got a team in mind."
