Later that morning, Butchy walked into Big Momma's, alone. As he walked over to his usual seat, he contemplated what he was going to do about the Adders. As he thought about this, he walked over to the jukebox and turned it to his favorite song. It was a song he'd heard from when he'd gone to the real world with a few of the others. He'd managed to get a copy of the song back to Wet Side Story. The song was one that brought memories flooding back. Some happy, some sad, and even some bitter moments.

The tears have all been shed now
We've said our last goodbyes
His souls been blessed
He's laid to rest
And it's now I feel alone

Butchy looked around Big Momma's. Everywhere he looked, he saw images of him and his father. Sometimes laughing, others crying. But one Butchy would never forget, was the time his father wouldn't let him go over to Lugnut's house, and he yelled at his father. As that scene played through his mind, Butchy looked away, ashamed of all the things he'd said or done.

He was more than just my father
My teacher, my best friend
And He'll still be heard
In the tunes we shared
When I play them on my own

Suddenly, Butchy remembered the time his father taught him to play electric guitar. It was one of the best days of his life. Sharing his father's passion for music, and being a biker just like his father, had always been dreams he had when he was younger. And now he was doing both!

I never will forget him
For he made me what I am
Though he may be gone
Memories linger on
And I miss him, the old man

Butchy smiled, remembering all the things his father had done for him. Butchy got up and waked over to the window.

As a boy he'd take me walkin'
By mountain field and stream
And he showed me things
Not known to kings
And secret between him and me
Like the colors on the pheasant
As he rises in the dawn
Or how to fish and make a wish
Beside a fairy tree

As those lines played, a pheasant actually landed on the railing outside of Big Momma's. It ruffled it's feathers before flying away. As Butchy looked out over the water, he could see fish jumping out of the water.

I never will forget him
For he made me what I am
Though he may be gone
Memories linger on
And I miss him, the old man

Butchy looked around Big Momma's once more, reminding himself of all the things he'd never done.

I thought he'd live forever
He seemed so big and strong
But the minutes fly
And the years roll by
For a father and a son
And suddenly when it happened
There was so much left unsaid
No second chance
To tell him thanks
For everything he's done

As the last chorus began to play, a few tears threatened to fall. Suddenly, Butchy felt like singing the last chorus.

[Butchy]
Oh, I never will forget him
For he made me what I am
Though he may be gone
Memories linger on
God I miss him, the old man

When the song ended, he felt a hand on his shoulder. When he looked, he saw that it was Lela. He turned around and hugged her.
"I miss them too. Come on, let's get some breakfast before Speed gets here." Lela said.
As the brother/sister duo sat down, Tessa and the other Rodents walked in.
"Mornin'." Tessa said with a smile.
"Morning, Tessa." Butchy said as Tessa sat down next to him.
"So, what's the game plan?"
"Well, I's not really sure this time. I's still thinking though."
As they ate breakfast, they talked about what they were going to do about Speed.

I hope you enjoyed the Chapter! Though, it is sad. The song is "The Old Man" by Celtic Thunder (that's where I first heard it. I know someone else did it first, but I heard it from Celtic Thunder. :) )You'll find out more about Butchy and Lela's parents later in the story. :) Well, have a great week everyone, and I can't wait to update again after my break! :)-Alyssa
