Hello again! I decided that since its been so long since an update, I'd do two chapters today. :) Hope you enjoy it! ~ Alyssa
"Butchy? May I?" Lela asked quietly.
Mack and Tessa both looked confused, but Butchy was beaming.
"I nearly forgot about that. Go ahead, Lela."
"What? Am I missing something?" Tessa questioned.
"Follow us!" Lela exclaimed leading the way down a hallway that Tessa had never noticed before.
They got to the end of the hallway, and...it was a dead-end.
"Um...is there supposed to be something here?" Mack asked.
Lela didn't answer, and neither did Butchy. Lela ran her hand along a shelf of books on the bookcase that was built into the wall. "Aha! It's still here!" Lela exclaimed, "Do you want to do the honors, Butchy?"
"Sure." Butchy hesitated.
Butchy touched the book, took a deep breath and tilted it towards himself. An unlocking sound resounded through the long, empty hallway. Butchy and Lela resumed their places next to Mack and Tessa.
"How..." Tessa gasped.
The bookshelf moved from it's place and revealed a downward spiraling staircase.
"Whoa!" Tessa breathed.
Mack just stood there, jaw dropped. Surprised that Lela had never shown her that hallway. They went down the stairs, and there was a set of mirrors, a chair, and a separate room with a wardrobe.
"What...what is this?!" both Tessa and Mack exclaimed at the same time.
"This is where our father was prepared to become leader, where Speed was prepared to be leader, where Butchy was prepared to be leader, and now where you will be prepared to be leader." Lela smiled.
"Wow!" Tessa breathed, looking around at everything.
Soon enough, Tessa was sitting in the chair. Lela began brushing out Tessa's hair. It was 4:00 in the morning before Lela finished doing Tessa's hair, make-up, nails, and choosing an outfit.
"Go! Go, go, go!" Lela said, pushing Tessa into the other room.
It didn't take much more time for Tessa to come out. When she did, Butchy's jaw dropped. Tessa was wearing a black crop-top, a red skirt, a pair of black tights, red heels, black gloves, a black bracelet on her right wrist, her red gem necklace, black stud earrings, and a sleeveless leather jacket.
"Tessa...you look...wow!"
Tessa blushed, "Thank you!"
Butchy walked over to her, brushed her now straight hair out of her face, and kissed her.
"I know you's gonna be a great leader for them. You's got good judgement. I trust that you's gonna use it."
"Don't you worry bout' a thing. I'll have Speed outta town in no time."
"I don't doubt that."
"Oh! I almost forgot to tell you! Butchy, Lela, you two, as well as the other Rodents and the Surfers, are allowed to call me Tess if you want."
Lela squealed and hugged Tessa, careful not to mess up Tessa's new outfit.
"Let's go. We need to get to Big Momma's early in order to be there before Speed gets there."
"Why?"
"Cause since it's your first day being leader, we wanna be there early." Butchy said, winking.
I really like writing this chapter, because I absolutely love secret passage ways and doing outfits! I know it's a short chapter, but there will be more soon! I promise! Hope you all liked it! :) ~ Alyssa
