Hey again! I'm glad I could get a little farther in this story so I can progress in others as well. I hope things are going good for you guys as they are for me. We're in a bit of a pickle what with the riots in Ferguson right now so lets hope for better. Anywho, please enjoy.
I Remember You, Brother
The sweet sensation of the metal piercing through his skin and penetrating his heart had Hidan in a state of euphoria, the pain transcending to the purest of ecstasy through the mercy of his beloved Lord. He was quite proud of himself for managing to make a strategy in the heat of the battle, er, quarrel? He hardly thought a few sensual swipes at one another was considered a battle, more of some tame S&M.
He loved watching the raven haired girl's head slump as he saw blood begin to collect on the once pure bandages that covered her chest. He could see her body losing color and hear her muffled gasps as he pushed the pyke deeper into his own heart. The silver haired punk that he had hated from the very begining was also fading, even though he hadn't had anything to do with it he took pleasure in seeing his sagging form fall, marine sword plowed through his midsection. He despised his cocky attitude after they first met. In the end his own negligence killed him anyway. Perfect.
"Mmm...that's the stuff..." he moans.
"This isn't funny Hidan!" The scold came from the blonde, blue eye narrowed in anger. The male just laughs him off.
"Fatal force was allowed girly. I'd be more focused on Kisame's fuck up."
"Shut it Hidan!" Kisame knew he screwed up, he didn't need a reminder. Kakuzu was upset as well, none too happy that Hidan couldn't restrain himself against the teasing woman. She hadn't even raised a hand against him in violence, he couldn't even show a little mercy just because she had made him look more like a fool than usual.
"Damned zealot..." he murmurs. Hidan pays no mind though, he was content with his victory, no regrets. Besides, this meant a sacrifice for Lord Jashin to make up for his lost days. He would relish in it as he sent her soul to him.
He gives a twist of the weapon, groaning as he does so. The pleasure was so intense he felt he might swoon. Maybe if he jimmied it more...
"Mmm...stop, you're turning me on." Hidan stops, as does his fellow members. The soft mew came from before him, soft, angelic, and sensual. His violet eyes found themselves glued to the woman in front of him whose slim frame was shifting so that she straightened. Her coal eyes were hazy and taunting him with their light. A smile spread across her pale lips and she approached him with a sway to her hips. He was baffled, unsure what to do and for once in his life, was speechless. (Not that anyone was complaining.) In his stupor he noticed that Shin too had straightened as if animated with new life, a smug grin on his face.
"Suprised Brawny?" he jests, shocking Kisame as he pulls Samehada from his torso.
"You shouldn't be," Sumara continues for him, her face just inches from Hidan's now that she had entered his curse diagram. Before he can act she takes his hand, pulling the pyke from his body, making them both whimper softly, before placing the crimson coated point to her lips and licking it, her tongue darting about wildly. To his suprise her porcelain skin turned an inky black, skeletal markings, much more rounded and pointed than his, appearing over her body and adding a dark appeal to her. Shin chuckles at the lack of response around him, signaling for Sumara to come out with the truth. "You don't recognize Lord Jashin's disciples?" At this her hand slips benath her bandages, returning to brandish her rosary. At this Hidan is visably jolted and when Shin tucks his hair behind his ear to reval a Jashinist pendant-shaped earring, everyone else is also. (Besides Konan of course.)
'T-this babe, this bitchy beauty...is a Jashinist? I don't believe it...' He didn't see how he could've missed it. She and the mutt were servants of his great Lord. This woman was more than he ever expected.
Pein ended the awkward silence as quickly as it began though. "Shin passes. Sumara, get out of that circle and prepare to face Itachi." Shin nods, stepping back with Kisame as he wipes his sword clean. It took some nudging but Sumara managed to coax Hidan out of the diagram, his skin returning to normal. She then kicked through the trail of blood, disconnecting the lines and allowing her own skin to change back.
Now Itachi stepped forward with new interest in his obsidian eyes. This new female was a Jashinist worshipper, only confirming his assumptions that she sought out the Akatsuki for her own ambitions. The whole Jashinist lifestyle didn't seem to fit her somehow though. She seemed too calm, calculating, and kind for the religion. Not the raging homicidal maniac that he percieved Hidan as. She thought ahead but also worried for her comrades, which made her a liability in battle, or it would if she weren't also immortal. This made him think harder on the ressurection jutsu she had performed. How risky a jutsu it must have been to put her in a near death coma even with her immortality. He assumed she would be a formidable opponent, very difficult to detain in the very least...
Sumara studied Itachi as she positioned herself before him. He seemed very determined, cold, calculating, and intuitive. He seemed to her a strategist if she'd ever seen one. He obviously was lacking in real bulk so his taijutsu was safe to be assumed as weak in strength, speed however might be an issue. His ninjutsu and possibly even genjutsu were his strong points though. She had her sharingan if worst came to worst, that made her confident. She couldn't afford to go letting the Akatsuki know that she was the ten-tails jinchuriki so it would have to do either way. She stood before him, her eyes studying him in all seriousness, he doing the same. Pein saw this and was anxious, as was another of the members. He wasted no time, he lifted his hand and held it there, both ninja tensing in anticipation. After what seemed like minutes he closed it and the battle began.
Itachi charged as Sumara did, their speeds seemingly identical to the spectators watching. Without being noticed at first, both drew kunai, drawing immense sparks when the two knives collided within a second later. They pushed with equal strength and mirroring emotionless expressions. Itachi could feel her force increasing with each second though, surprising him. She was small but he had to admit that she was overpowering him the longer they stayed in that position, she held immense strength, more than he could ever muster he deduced. He would have to gain distance and work with ninjutsu. Flame jutsu should do the trick...
With his last bit of strength he pushed back on his kunai, sending them both back several feet. Sumara noticed a change in him, and in doing so forgot her kunai. She took to the air in an enormous leap. As her hair flowed behind her she retrieved some of the shuriken she had hidden there earlier. Itachi in response, having seen her intentions, formed the necessary handsigns for his first jutsu as she aimed for his limbs and released four shuriken.
"Fire Style: Pheonix Flower Jutsu!" An array of five fireballs met the metal throwing stars and melted them on contact before continuing to travel towards Sumara. Eyes narrowed at the oncoming blaze she kicks off of an above tree branch, somersaulting midair and changing direction for the ground.
"Earth Style: Gopher Assassin!" As the flames passed over her, missing her feet by inches, she disappeared head first into the ground, dirt and earth flying in all directions. At this the raven male paused, watching very carefully the spot where she vanished. He had no time however to judge what her next plan of action was, seven tunnels branched from the initial mound, coming at him fast and in every way he could turn. He didn't believe she was among these tunnels, he knew it must be a diversion for some other means of attack. He didn't have much time to react in any other way though, through the ground burst seven clones coming at him with unsheathed sais. He had a second to produce shuriken that he embedded in each clone, to his disappointment though they were earth clones. The forms exploded in a mass of mud and rock, hidden shuriken emerging from the muck and continuing their pursuit of him, driving him back further as he deflected them with a kunai. The assault now over with and Itachi suffering little more than a tear to his cloak, the raven male surveys his surroundings once more for the younger female.
He had let his guard down just long enough for her to burrow beneath him discreetly, just when he thought he was in the clear to plan a strategy she had him. Nails sharpened into claws, her hand shoots up through the ground and grabs hold of his leg. In his surprise he had jerked back, throwing a kunai down at her in reflex. His aim was true and it embedded itself in her bicep, however she dug her claws into his calf just before she recoiled and sprung from the earth completely, retreating backwards and spinning in pain.
Itachi did not go without a grimace of pain either, he too had to clench his teeth and turn away. While the battle was excalading with each attack, both had decided it was time to bring out their secret weapons. The Akatsuki tensed in anticipation as they saw Itachi activate his sharingan, knowing that he intended to end this quickly now. Sumara however was faced away from them, and the activation of her own sharingan went unnoticed. She was prepared to come at him with sharpened talon-like nails as she ripped the kunai from her bleeding muscle, the wound healing almost instantly. Itachi was poised to strike at any second.
Almost simutaniously they each turned on their heals and launched themselves at one another, intent to win. They would have clashed with intense power and strength if not for the one thing that united them, the thing they each noticed all at once. They caught a glimpse of eachother's sharingan. In their wide-eyed shock they skidded to a stop, coming short just inches from one another. The reaction among the Akatsuki was almost unreadable, all silent as Sumara lowered her hand and Itachi dropped his knife.
"Y-you're...an Uchiha..." the raven male murmurs in dibelief. "Su-mara?" He knew where he had heard that name before now but he didn't think it possible that he could be right. An Uchiha that had gone unnoticed by all even within the clan. One that had been thought to be dead by the ones who knew of her existance. One he had never thought he'd see again...
Sumara gaped at him, her lip trembling now. She too remembered where she knew the name Itachi. "B-brother?"
Fugaku Uchiha continued to pace the hospital hall outside of the operating room, arms crossed as his brow furrows once more in frustration. Young Itachi, four years of age at the time, draws circles on the floor with his foot as he leans against the wall. It had been almost 8 hours since Mikoto had gone into labor and Fugaku was getting worried about his beloved wife. How long would it take for their second child to be born? The screams were dying down finally and he could faintly hear the sound of baby cries.
"Finally," he huffs in relief. He stopped his frantic pacing and Itachi looked up with bright eyes, eager to see his new brother or sister. He didn't care which, he was excited either way. His excitement was tried however when the doctor came out and was approached by an anxious father. "Is she alright? Can I go in?"
"Of course," the doctor reassures. Upon hearing this Fugaku attempts to go in but is stopped by a hand on his shoulder. "There is something you should know though sir." He looks at him with troubled eyes. Before he explains further though he smiles down at young Itachi. "Why don't you go on in and see your mother young man?" Itachi beams, rushing in to see his mother as his father recieved some shocking news.
Mikoto, from what Itachi could see, was holding something in her arms. But instead of one small baby, she held two bundles, one blue one, and one pink one that was noticably bigger than the other. His eyes went big as his mother smiled over at him. "Say hello to your new brother and sister Itachi."
"You had two babies?!" he beams.
She stiffles a giggle and nods. "This is your brother Sasuke, and your sister Sumara." Itachi was absolutely ecstatic, thrilled to have such great symbols of happiness in his life.
"Momma, how come baby sister is bigger than baby brother?" he wonders innocently. Mikoto could understand the boy's curiosity, her daughter was indeed bigger than her son.
"Well, Sumara just grew faster than Sasuke is all. It's nothing major, she's just a little different." And that was good enough for Itachi.

6 months later...
Young Itachi laughs eagerly as Sumara does yet another roll across the floor. The little tyke was already walking with skill and mumbling inaudible words. Her growth had put her at about the size of a toddler, not much smaller than Itachi himself. Little Sasuke was still nothing more than a small bundle in his brother's arms, who was babysitting since his parents were inside talking about adult stuff.
Sumara's size was unusual yes but it didn't bother her brother, in fact he loved her all the more. She was the sweetest thing he had ever seen and he loved her. He loved Sasuke too but he would be lying if he said he liked Sasuke more. Her bright innoecent eyes pierced his soul and ignited a warm flame within him, she was perfect the way she was.
The girl runs up to her brother with open arms, giggling uncontrolably. Itachi smiles at this and before she can run into him he holds out a finger and pokes her little forehead, stopping her and making her scrunch her nose at the action. "Not now sis, Sasuke is sleeping. Another time okay?"
All seemed perfect until he heard screaming from within the house. "Stop Fugaku! You can't! She's just a baby!"
"Damn it Mikoto she's a monster! Her growth is unnatural! Imagine what the village would say if they found out our daughter wasn't even a year old and was the size of Itachi!" Their father burst from the house, his wife following close behind with tears staining her face.
"Please! She's just different!"
"I've heard enough! Itachi!" He snapped at attention, his eyes questioning. "Take Sasuke inside, now!" He did as he was told, his gaze falling on his sister before disappearing inside. Once his sons were gone Fugaku snatched up his daughter violently, getting her to cry out in sudden fear. He carried her to the river, his wife screaming for him to stop but in so light a tone no one would've heard her.
Itachi placed Sasuke gently in his crib before rushing back outside, catching his parents retreating forms over the hill. He had a bad feeling that something was wrong. His father had dropped Sumara on the bank and retrieved a large rock that easily outweighed her. He didn't like this... Fugaku took out a rope and tied it to the rock, pulling Sumara to him as he did so. "Dad?" Itachi runs down the hill, trying to catch up. His father tied a knot around his sister's feet, keeping her from running or walking. Panic swelled within Itachi. He wouldn't make it...he couldn't... The rock hit the water with a deafening splash, the thread attached to it disappearing beneath the surface too quickly to follow. It tugged her to the edge and under just as pale fingers reached out for her, missed by only an inch. "NO!" She plunged into the water with a final scream before water enveloped her lungs and she was taken. He almost had her...he was about to jump in after her when Fugaku tugged him back, leaving him only able to reach out to her in vain. He could see her vanishing, her little hand reaching up at him, bubbles floating up from her mouth. Itachi shreiked out for her but eventually her little eyes lost their light and closed, the bubbles stopped, and her petite body vanished benath the shadows...

3 years later
Sasuke walked up eagerly to his big brother, planning on playing with him before he went off to his graduation ceremony. His expression was solemn though and Sasuke couldn't understand why. "Hey brother! Wanna play?" His dark eyes barely rose as he reached out to Sasuke, his finger jabbing him in the forehead. "Ouch!"
"Sorry Sasuke, another time..." He left then. Sasuke didn't know that three years ago to the day, his twin sister had been murdered by their father, and that was the last thing he had said to her...
"I don't believe it...I thought you were dead..." Itachi needed say no more, Sumara threw herself into his arms, embracing him with love that had been pushed away for years. She had thought the same of him.
"I remember...I remember brother..."
