so as you know i have adopted this story. i only changed the end to get it where i need it. this chapter was mainly written by Elena Mikaelson
before the destruction of the fraction systems, i was happy. i had a wonderful boyfriend, tobias, a family who loved me, my mother, father and brother, caleb, and some of the best friends in the world, christina, will, uriah... But that was then, when i could see, hear, breath, and live. now, i am a shadow , moving about the new world, invisible to those that have survived: tobias, christina, caleb, and others. jam not alone. there are plenty that walked like me, figments of the magination, legends told to young children, memories that fade with time.
As my journey though the netherworld continues, i watch my loved ones move on. i am gone, almost forgotten. i am but a distant memory, a small flicker of light that will soon cease to exist entirely. tobias has become president of new Chicago. he and christina have found solace in each other. they have children, who also have children. their lives are happy and full. Caleb has never forgotten that i saved him yet he is no longer burdened by guilt. he used his knowledge and became a doctor. my brother has children as well, though his wife died of a disease of the world before, cancer.
sometimes, my mother stays with me to watch the lives of my of my friends. other times, she and my father sensed time in our old home, in abnegation. of course, it is no longer called abnegation. it is called Brookhaven. The one person who has become my shining light in death, is uriah. even as a shade, he is happy. sometimes, i like to think about what might have happened if i had just blended in with the dauntless. would my parents still live? would i? uriah and i were divergent, but could we have hidden it? is it out divergence that ultimately killed us?
As much as i try to ignore these donuts i can't help but to wonder... what if? My answer comes in the form of a ' do-over'. A vortex of swirling colors claims uriah and me one day as we watch Chris and tobias. everything goes black, and next thing i know, i am getting out of the harness of a biplane, and clinging to uriah as we laugh, making our way back to the dauntless compound. i look over to uriah, to find him staring back, confused. it doesn't take me long to realize though this is our second chance
