Sorry this is gonna be a little short but I want to get some updates before classes start up again. Spring breaks goes by way too fast.

"I can't believe this is happening," Porthos said, shaking his head as he sat in the chair.

"Come now Porthos, everyone gets cavities once in their life," Treville said with a smile. "My first cavity was at age of 25."

"Is that suppose to cheer me up? I'm 15!"

"I was 16 when I got my first cavity," the dentist said, walking into the room. "Porthos, Mr. Treville, how are we doing today?"

"I'm good," Treville laughed. "Pothos on the other hand…"

"At lest he made me feel a little better."

Dr. Gille just smiled and put his mask on. He knew the signs of a nervous person because he's been there himself so he sat down and look at the young man. "I'm going to tell you what's going to happen. First I'm going to put this gel on your gums and let it sit for about a minute."

"What's it going to do?"

"It's going to numb your gums so I can shoot this needle with novocaine in there so you don't feel the drill and such while I fill this cavity."

"You're going to stick a needle in my mouth?"

"Yes but I promise you won't feel it but a little pressure and then we'll sit you up for five minutes until the novocaine gets you nice and numb."

Porthos gave a shaky nod as the chair moved down. He felt silly for having his dad there but this was his first time and he felt safe with him. He opened his mouth as Dr. Gille put the gel covered q-tip in his mouth and felt it being rubbed on his upper gums.

"Just be glade your cavity is on the top and not the bottom by the gums."

Porthos waited until the dentist pulled the q-tip out before asked. "What do you mean?" And here comes the needle.

"Because my first was the bottom back tooth right by the gum and the inside of my ear was numb."

Porthos's eyes went wide, he will tell you because of the story and not because he actually felt that pressure of the needle, and was now thankful his cavity was on the top front.

"Alright, very good. Now we're going to sit you up for awhile and let that get nice and numb. It's going to feel like your hand does when it goes numb and then gets that tingly feeling. What we want is that hot numb feeling."

Treville nodded as Dr. Gille walked out and looked at his son. "You okay?"

"I feel like a baby needing you in here with me."

"Son, there is nothing wrong with wanting a parent with them. You don't even have to tell anyone I was here."

Porthos nodded and then started to poke his lip and smiled. "This feels weird."

"Yeah but you will be very thankful for it."

"Is my tongue suppose to go numb?"

"Yes. Which means you really can't be chewing food because you might bite your tongue harder than you realize and that would hurt once the numbness goes away." He started to laugh when Porthos started to just poke his lips, cheek, and stick his tongue out. "You know, maybe we should have brought d'Artagnan with us."

"And traumatize the poor kid? You know he hates needles."

"Come on Porthos. You hear the arguments and complaints when I tell him to brush his teeth. I threaten him about cavities and needles all the time and he doesn't seem to believe me. Maybe if he saw this it would change his mind."

"Ah, scaring the youth into obeying. I thought I was the only one who still believed in that," Dr. Gille said walking in with a nurse behind him.

"Are you kidding me? This man right here is the pro at scaring people into obeying them," Porthos said with a smile as he pointed to Treville.

Dr. Gille laughed and moved the chair back down. "Alright, you ready to get this done?"

"Don't have a choice."

Porthos kept his eyes above the light when he saw all the equipment the nurse handing the dentist. He heard the sound of the drill and he felt himself tense a little but was surprised when he didn't even feel the drill but he did feel a hand on his ankle.

"You're doing very good," the nurse said, sucking whenever was in his mouth and handing the dentist what he needed.

"One of the better patients so far," Dr. Gille said. "Now I'm going to fill the cavity and the best part about this is that no one will know you had a filling. It's not silver like we've used before but it's the same color as your teeth. I had one girl tell me her old dentist filled her first cavity and when he was done she went to the mirror to see her cavity, expecting silver, but saw nothing. She thought her dentist was just drilling for the fun of it until he told her they no longer use silver."

"Aramis likes to look into my mouth and count my silver and said I could sell them for some coins," Treville said from his seat.

"Alright Porthos, Dr. Gille just has to polish and clean up and you're done. You did great," the nurse said.

Porthos gave a slight nod and was glade this was finally over. After this he was going to take better care of his teeth because there was no way in hell he was going through this again. After about three minutes his chair was being raised and Dr. Gille telling him no chewing until the numbness goes away and the numbness should go away in a couple of hours.

"See, that was so bad," Treville said, walking out of the office and into the car.

"Well, at lest no one can tell I got a cavity," Porthos said. "Still feels weird. It's numb but I can feel the pressure of my figure when I poke at it."

The drive was quiet, Porthos still poking his cheek and lips with a smile. They pulled into the driveway and Porthos found himself with an arm full of two little boys.

"You're okay!" d'Artagnan said, hugging his big brother around the neck.

"Do you still have your tongue?" Athos asked, opening Porthos's mouth and gave a sigh of relief when he saw it. "Okay, good."

"Of course he still has his tongue," Treville laughed.

"Aramis said that Porthos could lose his tongue if the dentist numbed it all the way and would have to cut if off because there was no way of using this tongue again," d'Artagnan said.

"ARAMIS!" two voice yelled that the neighbors' down the street could hear.
