Chapter 4 - A Self Saving

Author's note: Sorry it took me a long time. I was thinking about how Brian would save his younger self from being killed, and how this fanfic will end to fit in with the plot for one of my other Family Guy fanfics. Anyway, here's chapter 4.

Outside the puppy farm, a female dog whose breed almost looked similar to Vinny's, was busy chewing on a bone. She wore a blue scarf around her neck.

"Boy," the dog said in a Brooklyn accent, "if I were given a nice home to live in, I wouldn't have to find bones to chew on or dig for scraps.

"Okay, kids," Brian's voice got her attention. "I don't want any of you to separate, so, please, stay close together.

The female dog walked close to Brian.

"Say," she addressed Brian, "you sure do know how to raise puppies. You must be a good father to 'em."

Brian looked closely at the female dog. "Hey, I know who you remind me of. You remind me of a dog who lives with me. He goes by the name of Vinny."

"Vinny, huh?" the female dog repeated. "Y'know, I always wanted to have a son named Vinny. It'd be short for Vincenzo, and my owners would give him a collar like the one you're wearin', if I ever had any owners."

Brian chuckled. "Well, there's a puppy farm not to far from here. The owners there raise dogs so they'd breed puppies."

"That'd be wonderful," she said, ecstatically. "You can take me there sometime."

"By the way," Brian continued, "these puppies technically aren't mine. I'm just puppysitting them, so they wouldn't get hurt."

"Oh," the female dog replied. "Well, maybe you should take a closer eye on them puppies, because one of them's about to get turned into a doggy pancake by a speeding car."

Brian, panicked by this, saw that his younger self was busy digging in the flowers, not noticing that a speeding car was coming toward him.

"Oh, no," Brian thought, worried. "I'm about to cease to exist if I don't save myself from being run over!" With that, he leapt, grabbing him puppy self in his arms, saving him and himself just in time.

Puppy Brian yipped, kissing his adult self on the nose.

Brian chuckled. "Don't scare me like that, little Brian," he said to his younger self. "You could get hurt or worse." Brian walked back to the litter and the female dog.

"That's using your noggin, buddy," the female dog said. "I sure wouldn't want to see a young dog end up as road pizza. By the way, m'name's Josephine. Call me Josie."

"Well, it's good to meet you, Josie," Brian said, offering a handshake. "Bradley."

"So, Bradley," Josie began, "whose puppies are you sittin'?"

"There's a White Labrador couple living in the puppy farm I told you about," Brian replied. "I'm sitting for them. If you'd like, I can take you to that farm. The owners there are very nice."

"Well, thanks for giving me a home to live in, Bradley," Josie said, smiling.

With that, both Brian and Josie walked back to the puppy farm, with Coco and Biscuit's litter following them.

Author's note: Josie will play an important role in this fanfic's ending, in which Brian will discover something amazing.
